Releasing only Nnamdi Kanu is a strategic masterstroke. Slays more than 1 demon with a single stroke. Gives IPOB a dubious advantage that will manifest its Pyrrhic propensities soonest. Look deeply and you will see that the disintegration of the group has begun. Na lie! The despot has no more reasons why he cannot release an innocent man. |

Politics › Re: Why Nigeria needs State/local police forces (Read bold parts) by DrGoodman: 4:38pm On Apr 28, 2017 |
Blue3k: Historical facts like this make me wonder why some people are so fond of the despotic military rulers Nigeria suffered with. They are the majority of the reason issues like this carried over in civilian rule. Fact is the constitution banned states and local governments forming their own police forces. This cattle herdsmen issue could be better solved locally by having local rural police. One could postulate vigilante groups form because of vacuum in law enforcement.
The fact is we had pretty successful police force with international recognition. Now they are only known for taken bribes and the butt of many sleeping and dancing memes. Constitutional reforms should be considered in this area as well. We could have more local policing this way police are more accountable to us. In Texas where I live The Sheriff is elected by the people. Nigeria should in my opinion be more democratic instead of centralized. The international example Mr. Ekah pointed out very true.
PS: It's weird to me schools not teaching history is brought up as tragedy but nobody cares to read these kind of post. Anything over 500 word no go. I would cut more but I dont want context to be lost.
DrGoodman amoduokoh signz If we are truly serious about security, then each state has to own it's policing. There is no way a Fulani man can be a DPO in Delta state and fight crime like a local who knows the pains and gains of an efficient police force. This current system is being supported by those who use the police to keep the masses tied to their selfish interest. That is why someone can stay in Abuja and rig elections in Bayelsa state. |

While we are sorry about his health situation, we wish to state as follows.
That we, in this our stage of national development cannot afford a sick or slow president who will be partly incapacitated as a result of his health challenges.
That the hospital cannot be shifted into our presidential villa, instead our president should go out and treat himself.
That there are so many issues which need resolution and nobody is looking into them.
That the economy is still in shambles, security is still a big headache, the sports sector is dead, education is falling, prices still rising, hospitals still non functional, herdsmen still killing and raping.
Finally that we are begging our able president to go and rest. So his family can enjoy his presence. |
