Debosky, you are absolutely right on Adebayor's offside demeanour. Am astonished by his goals last season likewise last night goal. He loses many scoring opportunities like a goal poacher which causes many draws & loses to the team. If Arsenal have a better goal scorer than the present ones, the team would have been feared more in the league & europe. But Ade is better than Bendtner

Back to the game. Now I've reflected on it, the midfield looked odd yesterday.

Song was perpetual motion - joining up for attacks, hassling players, closing down space, while Denilson appeared to be invisible a lot, or maybe AW just told him to SIT in front of the back 4 and not wander around, or maybe he was man marking someone else?  

What made this more apparent was the goal scored by Senna - if you watch the replay, Senna is in acres of space when he takes that shot, with Song belatedly trying to close him down. Where was Denilson? Close to the center of the 'D' just in front of Kolo and Billy. Watching the replay you see Almunia castigating someone for not pushing up or closing down the shot. . . I suspect it might be Denilson.

Even at that, if Denilson was supposed to sit in front of the back 4, he should have been the one to make the tackle on Rossi, not Song again, and who knows maybe Gallas wouldn't have been injured then? Theory I know, but something to think about I guess.

Ok maybe I am making too much of a big deal out of this, but Song was definitely far more influential overall compared to Denilson in this game at least. Denilson did step up his game in the second half (along with the rest of the side) and redeemed himself.

Overall I think it was a trying experience for us, but a very useful one. These mistakes must be corrected before the second leg if we are to go through, and I trust AW will do so.
