Starboy Wizkid has joined the plethora of Nigerian celebrities that have reacted to the bill which was proposed by the Nigerian senate to ban the importation of generators into the country.
If eventually signed into law, the bill dubbed ‘Generating Set (Prohibition/Ban) Bill’, will prohibit the usage of generating sets in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The bill also stated that anyone who imports generating sets or knowingly sells generating sets shall be guilty of an offense, and be liable on conviction to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not less than 10 years.
However, the ban will not include generating sets used for essential services which include -Medical purposes, Airports, Railway stations/services, Elevators, Escalators, Research Institutions, and other facilities that require 24 hours electric power supply.

Nigerian singer, Ejiro Emokinovo, has died in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, after performing at the 90th birthday celebration of the mother of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Ejiro, who was the lead vocalist of a popular singing group, Veentage Band, died after an unsuccessful surgery.
She and her husband, Desmond Emokinovo, were in Dubai together for the birthday show.
She was said to have gone for a surgery after the party, where she passed away.
The sad news was shared on Instagram by her husband, Desmond, who shared photo of a burning candle and a video of one of her performances.

Popular Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga has announced his exit from Chocolate City after 13 years of being under the record label.
The announcement of his exit is coming hours after he dropped his 10th studio project titled “Judah EP”.
This is his first release under the new record label “Incredible Music”
Chocolate City is regarded as one of the biggest Nigerian urban record labels in Africa which was founded in 2005 by lawyer, Audu Maikori along with Paul Okeugo.

Ex-Brazilian forward and his brother set to face judge who will decide whether to free them or keep them in custody.
Police in Paraguay have arrested former Brazilian football superstar Ronaldinho for attempting to enter the country with falsified documents.
The 39-year-old and his brother, Roberto Assis, were taken to a police station in the capital, Asuncion, shortly before 10pm local time, Paraguay's prosecutor's office said in a statement on Friday.

The former Barcelona forward and his brother, who is also his business manager, are expected to face a judge on Saturday who will decide whether to free them or keep them in custody while investigations continue.
Ronaldinho's lawyer Sergio Queiroz confirmed the arrest to The Associated Press news agency and said his legal team in Paraguay had filed an injunction to release the former footballer and his brother.
Gilberto Fleitas, the head of the investigations unit of the Paraguayan police, said the pair were taken into custody after a judge refused to ratify a prosecutor's proposal for an alternative punishment.
Their unexpected arrest came just hours after the two brothers appeared set to leave Paraguay and draw a line under a tumultuous stay that began on Wednesday when they were questioned by police after presenting falsified passports on arrival at the Asuncion airport.

Federico Delfino, a prosecutor investigating the case, said he believed the two had been tricked into accepting Paraguayan passports on arrival and recommended that because they had cooperated with officials, they be released after paying an alternative punishment.
However, a judge rejected that on Friday and just minutes later the deal was overturned by the top public prosecutor.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports more cases many in the states of California and Washington.
The death toll in the United States from the coronavirus rose to 12 late on Thursday when King County in the state of Washington reported the latest fatality, according to Reuters news agency.
Of the 12 US deaths, 11 have come in Washington state and one in California.
Many of the cases in Washington have been linked to an outbreak at a nursing facility in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland, including six deaths.

The news comes as the US state of Texas reported two new cases in Harris County on Thursday, according to the Houston Chronicle, bringing to at least 14 the new cases in the entire state.
Across the United States, there are now at least 99 cases confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, although other websites have reported that infections have passed 110.
Meanwhile, officials in the state of California are scrambling to deal with a cruise ship carrying 3,500 passengers and crew, following reports of suspected cases on board.
The Grand Princess has been ordered to stay back from the California coast on Thursday, until all those on board are tested.

An Italian man who has been confirmed to be Nigeria's first coronavirus case after arriving from Milan was in the country for almost two full days before being isolated, travelling through Lagos and visiting another state.

The case has prompted a scramble by authorities in Africa's most populous country who are now trying to trace everyone who arrived on the same flight as the patient and identify the places he visited before going to the hospital.

We have started working to identify all the contacts of the person since he entered Nigeria and even those who were with him on the aircraft," Health Minister Osagie Ehanire told reporters on Friday in Nigeria's capital, Abuja.

The Italian, whose country is the worst-hit in Europe by the coronavirus outbreak, arrived on February 24 on a Turkish Airlines flight that had a connection in Istanbul, Akin Abayomi, Lagos state commissioner for health, told reporters.

After spending the night in a hotel near the airport, he arrived in the neighbouring state of Ogun on February 25 at his place of work.

The mother of the journalist who was allegedly slapped by Davido has spoken out and she lot of not so nice things to say.
You would recall that the singer was called out by the journalist for slapping him hard last week at the airport. He also shared a video of the incident on the internet and fans slammed the singer for his actions. However, Davido reacted to the news explaining that he was merely trying to hug him and that the attack was not intentional.
Well, it appears the mother of the journalist is unhappy with the whole incident and decided to take to social media to bash the “Risky” singer. According to her, Davido is yet to handle fame and fortune and being a gospel artiste and also a spiritual daughter to one of the big pastors in Nigeria, she advised him to read some of his books to educate himself on how to go about it.
