I had this conversation with a friend and I can't say it any louder, subsidy removal is the biggest shortchanged the Nigerian masses have endured. And to think we took it lying down is really baffling.
What then is our benefit as Nigerians being an oil producing state? The arguement that it benefits cabals or neighbouring countries is really dumb cos I wonder why we can't plug these holes.
In UK, we have several subsidies: Energy subsidy through the winter, council tax holidays, help to buy scheme for mortgage, furlough scheme among others, same with other western nations, yet we allow IMF to dictate how we run our economy. Bro I think the issue is quiet sensitive. As we all know human thought, behaviour and instincts are all influenced by our environment, custom, race , religion and beliefs. In this part of the word were marriage is seen as sacred its never right for you to be in a hotel room with another man's wife. Forget been archaic , civilised or not.

In the western world some things are seen normal as a result of their environment or culture. There you see married women wearing bikini in public beaches or swimming pools and it normal but over here in Africa it isn't normal maybe with time people can begin to see it as normal.

As a man , I don't think I will smile at a report that my wife went to visit her old school friend in a hotel and went to his room. There is a reception in the hotel, there are public places where they can meet , why his room. When you get to a certain age your bedroom is part of your personal or private space. And anyone coming in is mostly a very close person . That's why in every house there is a sitting room . The woman should be also ashamed of her self. As a married woman what is she doing in another man's private room.

I just hope when your wife starts visiting men in their private hotel rooms you will smile and say it she is civilised and not archaic . Becos even in western world its not ok for even your partner or even girlfriend to be visiting another man in a motel without the other partner getting annoyed or suspecting her cheat.

If we did, the states may not always be begging Abuja for oil money and maybe resource control would be in sight.

This evening my first girlfriend called me and told me we should end it that her friend told her all i told her

Incredibly, i never expected my new girlfriend to tell her such but just a simple assurance

IMHO it is too late... if wifey left the family home and sided with her mother, after letting this madness go for so long, then there is not much that can be done. you cant let someone run loose for so long and after 11 yrs (of being broken) try to change that person's ways. she is more comfortable (in that marriage) listening to her mother than listen to you, thus why she left. if after 11yrs together, your wife puts more value on what her MOTHER says than what you say, then you might as well move on! this woman obvioulsy has no respect for her man or what he says/stands for.
