judiciarypalava: Why won't they, when a mere Aboki mesuya , meshoe or megard will marry two to three wives and have b/w 7 to 15 kids that have no future all in the name that religion allows it. Thanks to their selfish and satanic leaders that will send their kids abroad for study and tell them that western education is forbidden. A topical almajeri will prefer to pray for God to keep blessing Atiku,Buhari,Tambuwal, Sambo, Kwankwanso, Sanusi, Babangida or Dangote so that they will bless them in turn by giving them food. What a slavery? And we say slavery has been eradicated. That's the only way they can have control over them by keeping them in a perpetual state of poverty. In the North, is either you are super rich or super poor and the ratio has been 2:8.
ILLITERACY IS A DISEASE THE NORTH SHOULD TACKLE IF THEY WANT PROGRESS.
God bless Nigeria Allah ya baku kubamu, May God provide for you and you provide for us. That's the prayer of most poor people living in the core north especially beggers. Northern Leaders and their imams are enemies of the North who takes pleasure in keeping their own people stuck in illiteracy and poverty for their selfish aims. There are many of such parents donating their own children for the cause of Boko haram in the north. |

Northern Leaders should be ashamed of themselves. What a barbaric people. Later they'll heap blame on GEJ for not doing enough to tackle security. Imagine parents donating their own child for terrorist attacks? Northern Leaders and their imams are all useless people. |

Nigeria is a multi cultural, ethnic and religious entity. No tribe or religion owns the Country. No laws with religious undertones should find it's way into the Nigerian constitution. For that reason Nigeria should and must remain a secular state. Calling for the total implementation of Sharia in Nigeria is same thing as Islamization of the entire country. That doesn't sound like freedom of worship. |

BUHARI MUST ANSWER THIS: WHY HE BELIEVES THAT EXTREME SHARIA LAWS MUST BE IMPLEMENTED IN ALL OF NIGERIANigeria: Buhari Calls for Sharia in All StatesBy Saxone Akhaine Kaduna — Former Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari at the weekend, tookstock of Sharia implementation in some northern states and concluded that the Islamic legal system has restored sanity in the affected states.
Buhari, who only recently attracted much criticisms over an alleged statement to the effect that Moslems in the country should vote foronly fellow Moslems in future elections, pledged to commit himself tothe full implementation of the law in Nigeria.
He also asserted that even critics, the Federal government inclusiveis satisfied with the level of internal security in Zamfara State, where the legal code is in full swing.
For the Moslems, the ertswhile ruler stated that the introduction ofSharia has united and enabled them to regain what they lost to thecolonialists and other external forces .
To avoid friction with non-Moslems however, Buhari advocated anenlightenment campaign through persuasion to assist them grasp theworkings of Sharia.
The former head of state who was the special guest of honour at the first yearly National Convention of the Supreme Council for Sharia inNigeria (SCSN), held at the Arewa House, Kaduna, urged Moslems to be bold in their efforts to ensure that the Islamic jurisprudence is rooted in all the 36 states of the federation.
"For Moslems in Nigeria as I mentioned at other, occasions, at leasttwice, we were overrun by the colonialists and our way of life was drastically changed... And one of the things we lost for being overrun by the colonialists is for us to be denied the freedom to practice our religion as it is or as it was and as it has alwaysb een. But, God in his infinite mercy brought this independence back to us through a democratic system of government."
Buhari further said that "what remains for Moslems in Nigeria is forthem to redouble the necessary education," stressing that they shouldeducate Moslems on the need to promote the full implementation ofSharia in the country; "and there is nothing to be afraid of."
"It is a legal responsibility God has given us within the context of one Nigeria to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly... and to educate non-Moslems that they have nothing to fear, because the biggest fear of Nigerians are three insecurities that I identified a very long time ago."
Buhari traced the insecurity in the country to the door-step of the Federal Government which he accused of failing to put crime undercontrol.
Said he: "In regard to physical insecurity, the government has failedin this respect to do the two basic and fundamental things for allpersons within a state, particularly the protection of life andproperty."
Though he did not disclose the foreign powers that are frustratingSharia implementation nationwide, he advised his audience not torelent on the education of their fellow Moslems.
"I believe education is the most difficult one because of the forces outside that are insisting that Moslems in Nigeria should not beallowed to raise their heads, which to me is not the ideal thing."
Buhari continued: "This is the sacrifice the Moslems will have to make and persuade their fellow country men who are non-Moslems to accept. I will continue to show openly and inside me, the total commitment to Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria, Godwilling, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country".
In his contribution, Niger State Governor Alhaji Abdulkadir Kurestated that the 1999 Constitution gave the various states theopportunity to upgrade their various laws saying that "this has now become history."
"At the beginning, it was objected to vehemently by others. Today, even the Federal Government has conceded to the fact that all whatthe states have done is within the ambit of the laws."
Kure urged the officials of the council to ensure that the basicobjectives of the legal code are achieved all over Nigeria.
The event was attended by the former Minister of Agriculture, AlhajiSani Zango Daura, Emir of Suleja, Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim, representatives of governments of Kano, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi and Sokoto states. Source: http://m.allafrica.com/stories/200108270355.html |

BackDatAssUp: There have been several reactions by BBC correspondants and articles published on the wake of the Buhari primary win towards being the flag bearer of the APC in the incoming presidential elections.
The APC supporters here are not happy with some of the publications and opinions coming out of the BBC which suggest that Buhari will not win the election and also that Buhari has not got what it takes to transform Nigeria given his 30 year absence.
Now, the reaction I am seeing from the APC crowd here is total condemnation of the BBC and their correspondant who via his twitter account on the announcement of a Buhari win at the APC primaries, opined that the votes tallied for Buhari in comparison to that of the other contestants showed his weakness that is , that he does not enjoy overwhelming support within the same APC.
Now that is non of my business as I couldn't care less of who wields the broom come 2015 on behalf of the APC but what really got me on is the reaction of APC supporters quick condemnation of the same BBC that they use in castigating the Jonathan administration.
The APC crowd are hypocrites to say the least.
The same BBC and other b.s. MSM outlets like CNN and Al Jazeera false reporting against Nigeria and this current administration have been taken as facts by them only for them to now turn around to condemn the BBC because it opined that their flag bearer is not the right man for the job. Exactly. Buhari's candidature as the best Presidential material is not entirely accepted within the APC itself and it showed up in the primaries. The results said it all. |

PapiWata: Weeping General Buhari's true value lies in the comedic relief he brings to every election conducted in Nigeria over the past decade. Everyone informed about the existence and diabolical character of terror gang leader Buhari will no doubt be aware that he is a masochist and career election loser who actually enjoys being defeated at national polls, so as to have a ready excuse to weep again in public like a malnourished infant housed in a refugee camp, therefore it stands to reason that Buhari is as essential a freak side-show to any Nigerian election as are dry banana leaves substituting for toilet paper in a public latrine. Buhari's candidature is so over hype. |

kokoA: There is nothing like right of refusal in the PDP party constitution. Obasanjo underwent primaries in 2003, Jonathan also underwent primaries in 2011 so when was this famous right of refusal sneaked into PDP constitution? GEJ frustrated Kwankwanso, pushed Atiku out, blackmailed Gov. Babangida Aliyu, intimidated Gov. Lamido's children with EFCC. These are men who colud have given him a good fight in PDP primaries. PDP refused to sell presidential form to interested candidates (Abiola's wife and Tafawa Balewa's son) after collecting their monies, only for thesame PDP to turn around and isseu the forms after considering the legal implication of such an act. Tell me where the right of refusal came in. It's very obvious you have not been following developments within the PDP the past couple of months. |
Politics › Re: The CNN Analyst Was Right About Buhari by drss(op): 12:27am On Dec 13, 2014 |
kokoA: The OP should tell us how many percent GEJ scored in "PDP primaries". . How can you compare a man who won a fiercely competed election to a man who was so scared of election that he used his power to silence all his opponents? What happened yesterday shows a party who knows what internal democracy is all about. Does it not occur to you that all the contestants are same party men and all the delegates are now automatically loyal to GMB? It is custom for sitting President to be given the first right of refusal by the party. This is what is what happens in other advanced democracies including America. Did you ever heard of Bill Clinton, George Bush, or Barack Obama contesting against opponents for their second term bit? This is the system PDP choose to adopt. That was why GEJ was given the first right of refusal and was subsequently endorsed as the party's sole Presidential candidate vis-a-vis his position as the sitting President. |

Caseless: u are so un-intelligent. You and that cnn hack should have known that of 5974 votes cast(i.e taking away d 16 void votes and 1206 of delegates that didnt vote frm d total accredited delegates of 7214), buhari polled 3430 of d total. That's 57.42% of the total votes cast and leaving his distant runner-up with 16%. I'm shocked u and that headless oaf frm cnn cudnt see this as a landslide. SMS!!! 57.4% is still far from convincing. It's not even up to 60% not to talk of 70% expected from a candidate like him. |
Politics › Re: The CNN Analyst Was Right About Buhari by drss(op): 10:19pm On Dec 12, 2014 |
donphilopus: This OP is so daft that he couldn't even calculate well. How can you say Buhari 47.5% votes of the total valid votes?! 7214 (not 7250) Delegates were accredited, 1206 Delegates didn't vote (and who told you they rejected Buhari?! If they rejected him, why didn't they vote another aspirant?!). Subtract 1206 from 7214, you get 6008; 16 votes were invalid (void), subtract 16 from 6008, you get 5992 (total valid votes cast). Buhari got 3430 which represents 57.2%. I.e, 3430/5992 multiplied by 100%. Where did you get your 47% from?! You're just too daft. I don't know if some of you enjoy being daft because I know daftness does not pay! Oh thanks for the correction. It was a honest mistake. Will make the correction. The figure 57.2% of total votes is still far from convincing. |

afolag: 1200 stayed away may be they were paid to vote somebody else and they chose not to show face at all. Dnt be brain washed by an ordinary reporters opinion. At best you can only speculate that the delegates stayed away because they were paid to. That in itself is an indictment on the credibility of APC because if 1200 could be bribed to stay away, what will happen if 5000 delegates were bribed? |
Politics › The CNN Analyst Was Right About Buhari by drss(op): 9:26pm On Dec 12, 2014*. Modified: 10:21pm On Dec 12, 2014 |
Just yesterday a CNN Analyst Christian Purefoy was insulted black and blue by Nairaland APC e Warriors because of his honest opinion about the acceptability of Buhari's candidature as APC's flag bearer. To them anyone that speaks against Buhari is a paid agent of Goodluck Jonathan. However, facts emerging from the just concluded APC Presidential primaries suggest that the CNN analyst was right after all. It was discovered that out of a total of 7250 accredited delegates to the primaries, 1,206 of them choose to stay away. Their actions could be interpreted as a clear case of rejection of Buhari's candidature. On the other hand, a person like Buhari, whom the APC consider as the best Presidential material was expected to clear as much as 70% of the votes to boost his acceptability as the best candidate APC got to offer, but instead he cleared just 57.2% of the total votes cast. This is a clear message that all is not well within the APC. If Buhari could struggle to get 57.2% to emerge as APC presidential flag bearer, then he has a very slim chance of winning the Presidential elections come 2015. The analyst was right. |

Politics › Beware Of Treason, Presidency Warn Rotimi Ameachi. by drss(op): 10:37am On Nov 21, 2014 |
The Presidency has warned Amaechi, governor of Rivers state, against using the immunity he enjoys to commit treason. Reacting to Amaechi’s comments during a rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Doyin Okupe, the senior special assistant to the president on public affairs, accused the governor of gross rascality. “For someone who aspires to become the vice president of this country, his disdain for law and order is not only unfortunate but also patently dangerous and sends dark signals about the survival of our democracy,” Okupe said in a statement. “It is clear to any discerning mind that Amaechi’s indecorous outbursts and his obvious disregard and contempt for the rule of law, has defined him as unfit to hold any serious public office in this country let alone the vice presidency of Nigeria to which he aspires. “It is curious and unthinkable that a man who was himself a beneficiary of the court process would disdain the very platform through which he acquired the opportunity to make his reckless and provocative statement. “It is even more worrisome when one considers the fact that Governor Amaechi’s party, which is relatively new, came on board promising hope to Nigerians. “For a party that has made so much noise about its intentions to offer Nigerians a new deal, we wonder how the APC can be comfortable with a loose cannon like Governor Amaechi. “Discerning Nigerians know that comments like this not only do not augur well for any democracy, but also portray Mr. Amaechi as a reckless, power-hungry individual who lacks both the democratic temper and respect for constituted authority and institutions.” President Goodluck Jonathan also asked politicians to desist from making utterances that tend towards tearing the country apart. He said those who make statements that threaten the peace of the country are risking punishment for treason, adding that Nigeria would continue to be in unity despite blackmail by the opposition. Jonathan made the comment when Seriake Dickson, governor of Bayelsa state, led traditional rulers to felicitate with him on his 57th birthday.
