If we are to win this war against Corruption,no arm of the Government should be spared. Our greatest setback in the fight against corruption has been the Judiciary, where Justice is being sold to the higgest bidder.
If it takes a dictatorial style to put these judges to check, I support it.
The masses should rally round and fight for the real injustice whereby a poor man is being lynched for stealing a pack of sugar while those who stole in billions are being shielded, given a pat on the back and let off he hook by corrupt Judges.
They have always believed they can't be challenged, hence making them comfortable and head deep in corruption water.
Anyone of them found guilty should be presented with watertight evidence and charged to a competent court, this will make others to know it's no more business as usual for them.

PoliticsJudges’ Arrest Was Attack On Corruption, Not Judiciary, Says Presidency by drsteroid(op): 2:37am On Oct 10, 2016
The Presidency on Sunday night maintained that the arrest of some justices and judges across the country by the Department of State Security (DSS) was an attack on corruption and not on judiciary.
DSS at the weekend had recovered N93.5 million, $530,087 and £25,970 from three of the justices and judges in its custody.
There was public outrage against the method adopted by the DSS as many viewed the move as anti-democracy.
But the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement, said that the President reserves his highest respect for the institution of the judiciary as the third arm of government.
To this end, he said that the President will not do anything to undermine the judiciary’s independence.
According to him, President Buhari remained a committed democrat in words and in actions and will not take any action in violation of the constitution.
The statement reads in parts: “The recent surgical operation against some judicial officers is specifically targeted at corruption and not at the judiciary as an institution.
“In a robust democracy such as ours, there is bound to be a plurality of opinions on any given issue, but there is a convergence of views that the country has a corruption problem that needs to be corrected.
“But reports by a section of the media are giving us cause for concern.
“In undertaking the task of reporting, the media should be careful about the fault lines they open. It is wrong to present this incident as a confrontation between the executive and judicial arms of government.”
He said that the Presidency has received assurances from the DSS that all due processes of the law, including the possession of search and arrest warrants were obtained before the searches.
To suggest that the government is acting outside the law in a dictatorial manner, he said, is to breach the interest of the state.

Sometimes I imagine the kind of people we are in this country..Someone implicated herself as the owner of millions of dollar in a case unconnected 2 her,and the masses who ought 2 come out enmass 2 push her out to defend herself in a competent court of law are the ones shielding her..In another news,NDA have also come out 2 support her openly and asked the Federal Govt not to prosecute her, this show of love between Patience Jonathan and NDA really tells more about those behind Avengers and who they are avenging for.
What I expected the Niger deltan youths and Avengers to be asking her is;Where did she get such money from, what did She and her husband do 2 better the region and the entire Niger deltans when in power..Supporting Corruption because he is our son or daughter will never help the fight against corruption, cos looters don't think about their own people when looting..This news has corroborated what the President said in NY yesterday..The corrupt cabals are truely behind pipeline vandalism..The hotel and all properties she acquired are not in the name of any Niger deltan state but hers and family members, the earlier we know this, the better for us.
PoliticsIjaw Youths Protest Against Patience Jonathan’s Probe By EFCC by drsteroid(op): 5:33am On Sep 24, 2016
By Soni Daniel

Angered by the probe of Dame Patience Jonathan’s accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, thousands of Ijaw youths on Friday stormed the Port Harcourt Zonal office of the commission to protest against the treatment meted out to the former First Lady.

A statement made available to Saturday Vanguard by the Spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, indicated that the protesters carrying placards with various inscriptions, such as “Patience is Innocent”, “How Many First Ladies have Been Tried in Nigeria,” “Mrs Patience Jonathan Deserves Respect, Stop Embarrassing Her,” “EFCC Stop Victimizing Niger Delta People,” “EFCC How many corrupt Nigerians have been prosecuted and jailed,” and so on were led by one Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, a self acclaimed ambassador.

Sukubo reportedly told EFCC officials that they were in the commission to protest what they considered as an unprecedented ill-treatment of a former First Lady of Nigeria.

Sukubo said, “We are here to express our unhappiness and submit our letter of protest over what we consider as ill-treatment of the former first Lady.

“We, as coalition of Niger Delta Civil Rights Organisatioin, concerned youths and Ijaw Nation World Wide, hereby, demand that the EFCC should stay off Mrs. Patience Goodluck Jonathan, as there is no established legal or political precedent for what EFCC is currently doing to Mrs Patience Jonathan,” Sukubo said.

But the South South Zonal Head of the EFCC, Ishaq Salilu, calmed the protesters, saying that as a law-abiding agency of the government, it was merely doing its duties without any fear or favour.

Salilu told the protesters that the EFCC as a creation of law, discharges its responsibilities within the ambit of the law. “EFCC is a law-abiding organization, which discharges its duties not minding whose ox is gored. We do not shy away from our responsibilities. Where there is a case, we pursue it to logical conclusion, if there is no case, there is none, we move to other things. The motto of the Commission is “Nobody is Above the Law,” he said.

Ishaq commended the protesters for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves and assured them that their letter would be transmitted to the appropriate authorities.

Mrs. Jonathan recently instituted an action against the EFCC claiming that the money placed on “Post-No-Debit category” in the accounts of four companies currently being prosecuted on money laundering charge by the Commission, belong to her.

PoliticsSSS ‘arrests’ Alleged Mastermind Of Yobe School Massacre, Other Notorious Boko H by drsteroid(op): 6:22pm On Aug 22, 2016
The alleged mastermind of the 2013 terror attacks on a secondary school in Yobe State has been captured, the State Security Service said on Monday.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Tony Opuiyo, the SSS said Mudaisiru Jibrin, a spiritual leader of the Boko Haram sect, was arrested in Kano on August 17, three years after he allegedly coordinated the killing of 42 people in Government Secondary School, Mamudo, Yobe State.
The attack left at least 42 people dead, comprising mostly students and a few teachers.
The operation was in furtherance of ongoing tactical and counter-terrorism operations to degrade the capabilities of criminal gangs and syndicates in their hideouts across the federation, the SSS said.
The SSS said Mr. Jibrin was arrested in the Yankaba neighbourhood in Kano, where he was operating as a spiritual leader for a new Boko Haram sleeper cell.
“Similarly, on 8th July, 2016, at Kinkinau area in Unguwar Mu’azu of Kaduna metropolis, the Service arrested one Mukhtar TIJANI, a notorious Boko Haram fighter and three (3) of his accomplices namely, Isiaku SALIHU, Abdullahi ISAH and Hindu ISAH,” the secret police agency said.
“The four suspects were apprehended while perfecting arrangements for major coordinated attacks on selected targets and locations in Kaduna State.”
“In a related development, on 12th August 2016, at Auchi in Edo State, three members of the ANSARU terrorist group hibernating in Kogi State were apprehended by the Service. Usman ABDULLAHI, Abdulmumuni SADIO and Ahmad SALIHU were arrested while making arrangements to launch attacks on some selected targets in Edo and Kogi States, before escaping to join ISIS in Libya.”

The SSS also announced the apprehension of one Aikhoje Moses, a suspected criminal who allegedly threatened violence against some foreign diplomats and missions in the country.
According to the statement, no fewer than 18 people were reportedly arrested by the SSS between August 12 and 19 in several states across the country.
The full statement released by the SSS is published below:
In furtherance to ongoing tactical and counter-terrorism operations to degrade the capabilities of criminal gangs/syndicates in their hide-outs across the Federation, the Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to apprise the general public of recent successes recorded.
2. Following threat messages against some members of the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja and Lagos, this Service responded and subsequently apprehended one Aikhoje MOSES, on 19th August 2016, at Azagha by-pass off the Benin–Asaba Expressway in Edo State. Before his arrest, MOSES had threatened the diplomatic community in Nigeria, particularly the Consular-Generals of Switzerland and Denmark and their Embassies in Nigeria, warning them to leave the Country.
3. The Service also arrested one Mudaisiru JIBRIN aka NAMAKELE/ALARAMA on 17th July, 2016, at Sauna quarters, Yankaba area in Kano. JIBRIN was the spiritual leader to a newly uncovered Boko Haram cell in Kano. Preliminary investigation so far conducted revealed that he was also the mastermind of the shooting of some students at Government Secondary School (GSS), Mamudo village near Potiskum, Yobe State, in 2013.
4. Similarly, on 8th July, 2016, at Kinkinau area in Unguwar Mu’azu of Kaduna metropolis, the Service arrested one Mukhtar TIJANI, a notorious Boko Haram fighter and three (3) of his accomplices namely, Isiaku SALIHU, Abdullahi ISAH and Hindu ISAH. The four suspects were apprehended while perfecting arrangements for major coordinated attacks on selected targets and locations in Kaduna State.
5. In a related development, on 12th August 2016, at Auchi in Edo State, three members of the ANSARU terrorist group hibernating in Kogi State were apprehended by the Service. Usman ABDULLAHI, Abdulmumuni SADIO and Ahmad SALIHU were arrested while making arrangements to launch attacks on some selected targets in Edo and Kogi States, before escaping to join ISIS in Libya.
6. Following recurring attacks by cattle rustlers in Zamfara State, this Service conducted series of operations in collaboration with the military to degrade the criminal network of one “BUHARI General’” in the State. Sequel to these operations, this Service arrested one Abdullahi HARUNA aka DOUGLAS, a bread seller on 13th August, 2016, at Hayin Buba area in Gusau LGA of Zamfara State. HARUNA was intercepted while using the cover of his petty business, to monitor security bases and movement of security agents in the State, in a bid to facilitate counter-attacks against security personnel deployed to the State.
7. Also, on 12th August, 2016, at Aliero town in Aliero LGA of Kebbi State, one Hussaini Alhaji SULE aka YELLOW, was apprehended by the Service. His arrest was facilitated by an earlier operation of 29th July, 2016, when one Hafizu SANI, a spy and criminal associate of “Buhari GENERAL”, was apprehended by this Service. Prior to his arrest, SANI was also spying on the movements of security agents in Zamfara State. SANI in concert with other elements, have been terrorizing local communities in Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara States respectively, engaging in cattle rustling and kidnap activities.
8. Meanwhile, following the spate of gruesome killing and kidnap incidents in Benue State, on 8th August, 2016, the Service arrested one Terfa JIRGBA and two (2) of his accomplices, namely Terzungee KWAGHAONDO and Mathias AENDE, at Badagry Street off Esther Aka road in Makurdi, Benue State. JIRGBA is an active ally and gang member of Terwase AGWAZA aka GHANA, a notorious kidnapper who runs a kidnapping and criminal network in Benue State.
9. In a follow-up operation, one TERUNGWA ABUR aka was trailed to Port-Harcourt City in Rivers State. He was eventually picked up on 16th August, 2016. ABUR is the second in Command to AGWAZA and a key member of the kidnapping gang of Terwase AGWAZA aka GHANA which operates from Benue State. He acts as a courier for the underworld gang and was the negotiator of the Four Million Naira (N4,000,000.00) ransom paid to the gang for the release of two Indian national staff of Dangote Cement Company, Yander-Gboko, who were kidnapped on 29th July, 2016, in Markudi city. He also participated in the killing of one ORTIN in Gboko township on 1st August, 2016.
10. The arrests of major criminal masterminds in Benue and other adjourning States will continue until these criminal gangs are routed and made to face justice.
11. To address the activities of various criminal syndicates that have in recent months terrorized residents of Calabar and parts of Akwa Ibom State, on 15th August, 2016, along Ukpong Street in Oron LGA, one Benjamin EMOMOTEMI and his accomplices namely Gabriel AMBROSE, Godbless Taliboth MATTIAS, Blessing SUNDAY, Simeon Blessing Sunday, Edet Effiong ASANAGASI and Rose WILLIAMS, were all apprehended by the Service tactical team. The suspects were part of a kidnap ring which masterminded the abduction of one Mr. Rufus AKV on 31st May, 2016 and Senator Patrick ANI on 6th July, 2016 in Cross River State.

12. This Service wishes to urge the general public to remain vigilante and alert to developments in their immediate environs, and to support security and law enforcement agencies, with critical information on suspicious persons and groups, for the sustenance of relative peace across the Federation.
Thank You.
Signed

•Urges FG to liaise with Jonathan on peace initiative

By Emma Amaize, Regional Editor, South–South and Perez Brisibe

A group, Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, RNDA,  claiming to be a breakaway faction of the
Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, emerged, yesterday, backed out of the continued attacks on pipelines by the principal organization, threatening to expose the identities of  NDA fighters and their sponsors if the militant group do not cease hostilities.

The new group in a statement by Cynthia Whyte, last night, said: “Permit us to begin by introducing the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA), a breakaway faction of the Niger Delta Avengers.”

Saturday Vanguard sent an electronic mail to NDA yesterday evening for its response, but at 8.35 pm, it had not responded. A privileged source, who preferred anonymity, hinted: “I don’t think it is true, the Niger Delta Avengers we know cannot chicken out of the struggle, I think some people have been paid to cause confusion and derail their struggle.”

RNDA, however, said: “A majority of us in consideration of the recent personal appeal by His Excellency, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,  the peace efforts and initiative of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and the feeling of guilt over the damage being effected on our environment.

“And at the same time, the government of President Buhari has exhibited political will and backing words with action to clean up the environment, we have decided to join the MEND Aaron Team 2 peace initiative through the clearing house of Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group (NDDCG) headed by HRH King Alfred Diette-Spiff,” the group said.

It asserted: “ We will also cooperate with the government by exposing the identities of our comrades,  who remain stubborn in their insistence to continue attacks. For example, it will shock the nation to know the Jekyll and Hyde personality behind the pseudonym ‘Brigadier General Murdoch Agbinibo’ and our sponsors.”

“It  added: “We also use this opportunity to call on the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,  to take advantage of the olive branch concession secured by MEND and renounce the Biafra question which is an anachronism.

“Those advising Mr. Nnamdi Kanu to do otherwise neither love him nor appreciate the level of treason this simple act of common sense and humility can extricate him from,” the new group pointed out.

It stated: “ The Niger Delta will no longer be your proxy war to achieve your ambition. To our comrades in the NDA, we urge you to stop being defiant and embrace peace and the wise counsel we all received from former President Jonathan.”

Meanwhile, the Ijaw Human Rights Monitors, IJHR, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to liaise with former President Goodluck Jonathan to help him in resolving the Niger Delta logjam.

Coordinator of the group, Fred Brisibe, in a statement, said: “We noticed from the body language of former President Goodluck Jonathan after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari that there are flickers of light at the end of the tunnel for the bleak situation of uncertainty around the agitation for restructuring.”

“However, this hope may fizzle out too soon if certain ugly trends are not arrested without delay. Truth is, certain characters who are members of the so-called Niger Delta Contact and Dialogue Team are on a mission to thwart the peace initiative.

“They frolic daily with the fraudulent MEND and use the opportunity of their membership of the committee to extort money from unsuspecting government officials for self enrichment. This is adversely affecting the peace process and may completely frustrate the dialogue,” he said.

The group asserted: “It is important, therefore, that for any meaningful and pragmatic solution to emerge, President Muhammadu Buhari should liaise with Goodluck Jonathan to get a proper team of delegates from the region to dialogue with.”

“We wish to use the opportunity to call on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the DSS to arrest and prosecute anyone who is involved in this syndicate,” it added.

PoliticsFayose Struggles To Justify Statements About Aisha Buhari As She Arrives In US by drsteroid(op): 2:58am On Aug 06, 2016
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has changed his tune about his allegation that US law enforcement authorities had indicted Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, for her alleged involvement in a financial scam. Mr. Fayose had once stated that Mrs. Buhari could not dare to step foot in the US, asserting that she would be arrested.

However, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in the US a day ago, apparently forcing Mr. Fayose to soft pedal on his unsubstantiated claim that US authorities were seeking to arrest and prosecute her. Mrs. Buhari is in the US to participate in a series of meetings in the Washington, DC area, including a function at the United States Institute of Peace and another event with Nigerian groups.

SaharaReporters learned about Mr. Fayose’s newfound reluctance to sustain his allegations in a conversation with the governor’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka.

Governor Fayose had alleged several times that Mrs. Buhari would dare not visit the US because she was involved in the William J. Jefferson scandal, a bribery scandal that ended the political career of one of Louisiana’s Democratic members of Congress. Former Congressman Jefferson is currently serving a 13-year sentence after he was convicted in US court for charges that included accepting bribes from Nigerian officials.

Without adducing any evidence, Mr. Fayose had publicly contended that Nigeria’s First Lady was the woman who facilitated fraudulent and corrupt transactions in the United States with Mr. Jefferson. However, media investigations and reports by SaharaReporters and the New York Times provided photographic and other evidence that the woman involved in the Jefferson case was not the wife of Nigeria’s president. The woman named in the Jefferson case is an entirely different Aisha Buhari who is still living in the United States.

An investigation by SaharaReporters revealed that Mr. Fayose once had his visa to the US revoked by the American Embassy in Abuja as a result of the governor’s alleged involvement in corrupt practices and sponsorship of violence against his political opponents.

Mrs. Buhari has indicated that she plans to sue Mr. Fayose for defamation on account of his repeated statements.

PoliticsRe: Three Militant Groups Accept To Dialogue With Buhari by drsteroid(op): 5:59am On Jul 30, 2016
The fear of Operation Ex-crocodile smile is already making them fidget.I believe in dialogue as the best way out.
President Buhari must know that not every dispute requires force.
PoliticsThree Militant Groups Accept To Dialogue With Buhari by drsteroid(op):
By Emma Amaize, Regional Editor, South-South and Perez Brisibe

THREE militant groups in the Niger Delta region, Reformed Egbesu Boys of the Niger Delta, Egbesu Red Water Lions and Egbesu Mightier Fraternity have capitulated on their earlier decision not to allow the Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group, NDDCG, to represent them in the ongoing dialogue with the Federal Government.

A former military governor of old Rivers State, His Royal Majesty Alfred Diette-Spiff is the leader of NDDCG, which is a member of the Aaron Team 2 put in place by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, to dialogue with government.

Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, the foremost militant group in the region, had earlier rejected MEND and its Aaron Team 2 initiative, but President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed, last week, that the federal government was discussing with militants through  security agencies and multinational oil companies.

MEND spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo, confirmed the talks, but said groups like Avengers and other internet-based militants were not part of it.

The leadership of Reformed Egbesu Boys of Niger Delta in an electronic mail on behalf of other affiliate groups, said: “A fortnight ago,  we responded to this subject matter wherein we stated emphatically that the Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group  had no mandate to negotiate on our behalf in respect of the renewed hostilities against oil and gas facilities.”

“We wish to state that the leadership of the Reformed Egbesu Boys of the Niger Delta, including the Egbesu Red Water Lions  and the Egbesu  Mightier Fraternity have been duly consulted and our mandate secured for the negotiation by the  Diette- Spiff- led committee,” it said.

Why we made a volte face

On why they reconsidered its position, the militant groups said: “Our decision to accede to the pleas of well-meaning citizens and interest groups to yield to dialogue should not be misconstrued to mean we are intimidated by the military threat to launch Operation Crocodile Tears.  We make bold to invite the military to launch the said operation, which they have concluded all logistic arrangements.”

“However, we have it on good authority within the military establishment that the service chiefs of the Armed Forces are averse to dialogue, so as to launch a full-scale military operation to justify the utilization of the defense budget earmarked for the Niger Delta.

Why they removed Kachikwu

“Also, a cabal within the government went to convince President Muhammadu Buh ari while in London on medical vacation to rule out negotiation with Niger Delta militants.  This was the reason  they removed Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu as GMD of NNPC because he was going beyond the thinking of the military leadership,” it asserted.

The militants noted: “In the history of armed struggle, the Niger Delta had been bombed by successive governments, but this has not solved the problems of the region, as this generation of youths and those unborn would continue to demand and agitate for true federalism and restructuring of the country.”

“These are the minimum acceptable preconditions for the continued passage of our oil and gas to be exported as a national commodity for the development of the arid regions to the exclusion of our communities.

“We never consented that anybody should lump us together with the Nigerian state in the political and constitutional issues that characterized flag independence. Rather, we demanded for a separate government, but the conspiracy of the British imperialists and the Northern monarchy culminated in the establishment of development commissions for the Niger Delta. Today, all these commissions have all failed to develop the region,” they said.

“In the light of the above circumstances,” they added, “we join hands with well-meaning Nigerians and  the progressive- minded ethnic nationalities’ self- determination groups to reaffirm that the present political structure of Nigeria is no longer workable and acceptable to the larger interests of Nigerians and that it should be abandoned.”

PoliticsNiger State Draws Buhari's Attention To Bida Basin by drsteroid(op): 4:43am On Jul 28, 2016
By Wole Mosadomi

Minna—Niger State government has informed the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of large quantiBida Basin awaiting exploration.

In a statement by Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Jonathan Vatsa, the government said the immediate past state government, through a committee it set up, had confirmed the availability of large quantity of crude oil in the Bida Basin.

The statement read: “The search for crude oil will not be complete in the north until Bida Basin, which has a lot of potential, is included because there had been several intensification of crude oil search with re-invigorated exploration based on fresh strategy.”

The Commissioner said if the Bida Basin could be included in the renewed search for hydrocarbon deposits and it would be a giant step that can step up the economic potential not only for the state but for the country as a whole.

It would be recalled that the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru, hinted recently that government was stepping up measures in the search for crude oil in the Chad Basin and other parts of the inland sedimentary basin.

Niger State government had, in a bid to join the oil producing states in the country, re-awakened efforts to give full support to the proposal on the Bida Basin hydrocarbon research that was initiated by the state-owned Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, in 2010.

In 2011, a 24-man committee, under the chairmanship of General M. I. Wushishi, called Gubernatorial Committee on the Development of Bida  Basin, GCDBB, was inaugurated by the state government with the mandate to establish facts about the availability of oil and gas in Bida Basin and give recommendations.

PoliticsMilitary to launch Operation Ex-Crocodile Smile In Niger Delta by drsteroid(op): 4:04am On Jul 28, 2016
By Emma Amaize, Egufe Yafugborhi, Perez Brisibe & Ndahi Marama

WARRI—NIGER Delta Avengers, NDA, have said that President Muhammadu Buhari was free to step up oil exploration in the North East, but should forget about the export of any drop of crude oil from the Niger Delta.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, has said that the military under his command will from this weekend launch Operation Ex-Crocodile Smile to practise Special Forces Troops in Amphibious and IS operations in riverine areas in South-South states of the country.

This, he said, will check criminal activities such as kidnapping, militancy, piracy and other forms of criminal activities. Avengers’ spokesperson, self-styled Brig-Gen. Mudoch, in a statement, entitled, “Your drones won’t stop us,” said that the Federal Government was preparing for a military offensive in the region but using dialogue as a subterfuge.

“Also note that you will not be able to export one litre of crude oil in the Niger Delta. Just intensify the oil exploration in the North-East. As for exportation from the Niger Delta, forget about it because the Nigerian government won’t export a drop from our land.

“The NDA intelligence agency gathered that the said peace talk or dialogue by the Federal Government is a delay tactic employed by the government to enable the drones they ordered arrive latest end of August from the United States.

“This whole thing makes us to wonder what kind of country this is. We can all see that the government is not serious about any dialogue but is only making it seem as if the Niger Delta Avengers are the ones not ready for dialogue. “Government can purchase all the drones from Europe and Untied State. It will not stop the NDA from bringing the country’s economy to zero.”

Speaking, yesterday, at a three-day Combat Support Arms Training Week, COSAT, which took place at Maimalari Cantonment, 7 Division, Nigerian Army, in Maiduguri, Borno State, Buratai  noted that the current operations being undertaken by troops in the country, especially in the North-East, have thrown up several challenges, stressing that efforts were being made to confront these challenges. He added that the Nigerian Army will not rest until the country was rid of criminals and terrorism acts.

Can't wait for this day to come..This wil put to rest all the controversies surrounding the real Aisha Buhari being fingered in the haliburton's scandal.
For Fayose;
If he is right: the whole world will respect him for saying the truth
If wrong: Posterity will never forgive him tarnishing the good name of Ekiti (Fountain of knowledge) which he has ridiculed before the whole world..
Fingers crossed
PoliticsAisha Buhari To Travel To The US, Plans On Attending Meetings In DC by drsteroid(op): 8:15pm On Jul 22, 2016
SaharaReporters has learned details of the First Lady of Nigeria Aisha Buhari’s upcoming trip to the United States this August. News of Mrs. Buhari’s trip to the US follows accusations by embattled Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose that she was involved in the famous Halliburton scandal and, as a consequence, cannot go to the US for fear of being arrested.

Independent investigations by SaharaReporters and the New York Times have found that the First Lady Aisha Buhari is not the same "Aisha Buhari" involved with the Halliburton scandal, despite Mr. Fayose’s persistent remarks.

According to an official invitation letter obtained by SaharaReporters, Mrs. Buhari is expected to be in the US from August 1st to the 10th and will be attending bilateral meetings at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She will also be hosted by the United States Institute of Peace in collaboration with Voice of America media organization.

The invitation also says that Mrs. Buhari “will attend the 25th Anniversary celebration of Zumunta Association USA Inc.”

The letter was signed by Hajo Sani, the Senior Special Assistant (Administration), on behalf of Mrs. Buhari.

It will be recalled that SaharaReporters previously published a report, based off of leaked documents from the US State Department, that Mr. Fayose had his US visa revoked since 2006 following evidence of his sponsoring violence in Ekiti State and for corrupt practices. This visa revocation means that Mr. Fayose is unable to travel to the US legally.

PoliticsOsinbajo,Apc Governors Storm Benin As Obaseki Flags Off Guber Campaign by drsteroid(op): 6:29am On Jul 16, 2016
By SIMON EBEGBULEM

OVER ten governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the Progressives Governors’ Forum are expected to join the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in flagging off the governorship campaign of the candidate of the party in the September 10 governorship election in the state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City today.

Meanwhile, over one thousand police officers and the anti-bomb unit of the state Police Command took over the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin City Friday with a view to ensuring a hitch free exercise.

Disclosing the presence of the APC governors for the event, Oshiomhole said,”while the PDP couldn’t get any national person of note to present a tattered flag, our own national chairman will be around, as a former governor, former federal Permanent-Secretary and National Chairman of the governing party to present the flag to our candidate. And my brother governors will be coming from Friday, all the Progressives Governors will be here to show solidarity. We are not going to be represented by one governor. The Governors will come.”

Asserting that the flag off will signal the final death of the PDP in the state, the state chairman of the APC, Anslem Ojezua who briefed newsmen, said “as I am speaking with you now, we already have about five APC governors in the state and more are being expected. Our Vice President will be arriving tomorrow morning.

“This is for all Edo people and you will see them at the stadium tomorrow. We are not PDP that went to hire crowd to pretend that they have people when they have no body. We are also going to see tsunami because notable PDP leaders will be defecting to the APC today. We are not talking about just PDP members but those who are the foundation members of the PDP in Edo state.

“They are tired of the tattered umbrella so they want to move to a progressive party. They have seen the difference between the PDP and the APC, while the APC government has worked for them very sincerely in the past seven and half years, the PDP was here for ten years and nothing was achieved. These people are elders who want something good for their people and they are going to help achieve victory for APC in the coming election.

“This is the time to show appreciation for what the APC government has done by voting in another APC governor. Oshiomhole has done well and that is why you see a lot of people dumping the PDP for the APC across the state. But Saturday’s rally will be the final burial of PDP in the state” he stated.

Dialogue is the key and quick fix..May God give him the wisdom to quench all this agressions.
My problem with this avengers is that they are only fighting for their selfish interests, their kinsman was dere for 5yrs and did nothing to savage the polluted lands, poor infrastructures, instead they were busy sharing and looting our common patrimony which ought to have been used 2 develop his land and improve d standard of living of his people. This is one thing a northerner wil never do,and the reason why northerners always support their own. They always make sure they use their position to develop their area when in power. The road network and infrastructures provided by Babangida and Abdulsalam Abubakar are stil there to show in Niger State..what can Jonathan proudly say he did for Niger deltans?Oh! He gave them pipeline surveillance contracts which made tompolo et al billionaires and has no direct impact on infrastructural devt n the Niger delta.Asari dokubo made billions from the contract and hurriedly went to benin republic to open a private university, forgetting his people, why not site the university in the Niger delta whch would have providedd jobs and other benefits to the teaming Niger deltans..Avengers are avenging for no one,but calling the attention of the Govt to grease their palms and avenging for corrupt cabals who never wish this country well.
Before anyone quotes me,am a proud Niger deltan, but lets all give PMB a chance,he is fighting a battle which requires our collective effort and prayers. May God help him.
