Is smuggling of drugs the only way to becoming successful in life?It makes no sense to me if afta making money 4rm drugs and u stil pay with ur precious life! Poverty,or ignorance isn't an excuse 4 this, its just absolutely the ' get rich or die trying' mentality which is now the reverse in this case. |

How time flies...I remember vividly how we do queue @ the fone booth coupled with the erratic network failure. Most of the nitel offices are now grazing fields for horses and cattle. We need a National telephone provider which will serve as a regulator to other telecom service providers, hence the need to rejuvenate Nitel. |
ptoall1000:I don't rily have an idea... If it was in Lagos,I wud have been able 2 help u out |
These people re just a set of beasts..These idiots are just rag tag fools who don't even have a direction in life..Buhari must unravel those behind this faceless devils cos I don't know where they get all these their vehicles 4rm..a friend of mine who is an airforce officer and currently involve in this war, told me 4 every boko haram boy they kill, they find nothing less than 500,00naira equivalent in Nigerian currency on them, and they have loads of trailers always supplying them fuel, even when Nigerians were groaning due to fuel scarcity, they never had any worry cos they are always supplied with fuels 2 power their vehicle and for other logistics..he told me how senior military officers shield these bh boys and even wine and dine with them, which confirms there are moles in the military. This shows they have big wigs sponsoring them which must be rooted if BH must go in2 the history book..I believe the president being a general can bring an end to this..let's all support him.a better nigeria is all we pray 4 |
A new sheriff is in town,Bh will soon no that its not business as usual..The president needs 2 appoint his service Chiefs on time and come up with a counter insurgency plan that will wipe out these monsters..may God protect Maiduguri residents and its environs and give our soldiers victory over them |

Olarewajub:yea...its affordable and doesn't have side effect |
Olarewajub:yes bro...there is a special kind of glasses we call transition lenses, which helps to protect the eyes against UV rays, extreme light sensitivity, reflection. This will help prevent the formation of UV radiated induced cataract, macular burns and other retinal problems which affects the eyes and can lead to irreversible loss of vision..protection of the eyes with this kind of lenses is the key to preventing this kind of blindness. |

The Chadian President, Idris Derby Monday made a volte face as he said that he does not know the where about of the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau. President Derby had in a widely circulated claim said some months ago that he knew where the Boko Haram leader was hiding and had warned him to surrender or risked being killed by Chadian forces. But speaking with state House correspondents after meeting with President Jonathan, President Derby said even if he knew where the terrorist was, he would not say where he is. “I cannot tell you today that I know where Shekau is hiding and even if I knew I won’t tell you” he said tersely in an answer to a question. President Derby hinted that the inability of the Nigerian and Chadian army to carry out joint operations may have affected the success of the on going operations in the North east to tackle Boko Haram. “Is regrettable that the two armies that is the Nigerian army and the Chadian Army are working separating in the field, they are not undertaking joint operation. If they were operating joint operation probably they would have achieved more results” he said. He said he was in the Presidential Villa to consult with President Jonathan on the fight against terrorism and to congratulate him for setting a good record for Africa by conceding defeat in the just concluded election. “I came to consult with my brother President Goodluck Jonathan. As you all know Nigeria and Chad are two countries that have a lot of similarities in fighting insurgents. “Chad has had its own problems in the 70s and 80s and Nigeria assisted chad during those difficulties times. “On the 2015 general elections, I came principally to congratulate Mr. President for the statesmanship he demonstrated during the elections. We all know that elections in Africa is always contested but Mr. President demonstrated a lot of statesmanship, that he is a real democrat by conceding defeat and congratulating the President-elect. You all know that when Nigeria sneezes the neighbouring countries catch cold. If Mr. President had not taken that laudable initiative, you all know what would have happened now. Nigeria is still living in peace, you all are living in peace and that would not have happened but for that laudable initiative he took. “So I came to congratulate him for leaving a legacy not only for Nigeria but for Africa as a whole” he said. On the fight against Boko Haram, President Derby said: “As you all know we both work together to fight Boko Haram. I thought it was important that before Mr. President leaves office, I will come for us to have overview of what we did together, what we achieved together in the fight against Boko Haram. “It Is true Boko Haram has not been completely eradicated but they have been tremendously weakened. I did not want to wait and come during the inauguration of the new government, I thought I should come to consult with Mr. President, to congratulate him and to have this exchange and have overview of what we have been able to achieve in the fight against Boko Haram” he said. The chadian President said that the four countries around the Lake Chad Basin that are currently securing the area have formed a multinational mixed force that will metamorphose to a Rapid Response Force that the African continent. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/i-dont-know-where-shekau-is-says-chadian-president |

As the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, takes over from President Goodluck Jonathan on May 29 after 16 years of democracy, the leader of the Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams advises him to give priority to the implementation of the report of the 2014 National Conference. Your candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lost in the general elections. Will the development affect your relationship with him? As non-governmental organisation, we only gave our support to President Jonathan on personal ground. Our relationship started since he became vice president. We supported him because he was good to us. He is a kind man. Unfortunately, people alleged that we were given N1.6billion to campaign for Jonathan. Even Jimi Agbaje, who contested in one of the most lucrative states in Nigeria, did not get N2billion to campaign in Lagos. The pipeline contract came because we bidded for it. People have said lots of things about the contract. If I collected N1.6billion to support Jonathan’s campaign, you wouldn’t meet me in this office. People have been calling and demanding money from me since the issue of the pipeline contract started; interestingly, the money for the contract has not been released till now. You said there is no permanent friend or enemy in politics. What do you want the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari to do to earn your support? If he can declare his assets and get members in his cabinet to do so as he has rightly promised, then it is a good omen for democracy and evidence of transparency in governance. He should also ensure that anyone who fails to truthfully declare his asset gets seven years imprisonment. While leaving government they should declare their asset as well. I believe this will set precedent to those coming afterward. I think that would be a good foundation for transparency in governance; if he can do that, we would have reduced corruption by 65percent. That is when you will see people who are really ready to serve the country. I know many people will not be interested in political appointment again. If you are to meet the president-elect, what will you tell him? The issue of National Conference is very important to us. He needs to restructure the country. Transparency must be his watchword. He must know that he is a father of all and not a particular political party. Politics is about local interest. He must be unbiased in the choice of members of his cabinet. A good leader must have vision. Declaring of his assets and his simplicity will be an advantage to reduce the cost of governance. If the president is modest in his spending, his subordinates wouldn’t have any choice than to be prudent. His ability to reduce the price of fuel to N30 per litre will be good for the country. The major issue is accountability and transparency. If he can reduce the salaries of government officials, that is when we will know that there is real change. Free health, education and housing for the common man are areas the new government must look into. An average Nigerian needs to be 75 percent comfortable. But if an average Nigerian does not live in a conducive environment, he will be negatively influenced. Even his children will be influenced by criminals. If he can give the Nigerian child free and affordable education up to the higher institution of learning, then his government will be embraced by all. Today, private schools are milking people dry and government is doing nothing about it. There are more private schools than public schools. He should be ready not to defend crime. He is from the North, I believe he has the power to influence those behind Boko Haram and convince them to stop insurgency. He is a civilian president, he must be ready to follow due process before taking any decision on issues. If he fails to do the needful, then he should not be surprised that some people in his party will sponsor PDP against his government and leak information to them. His objective should be to reduce hostility in the country. He must not be biased in his judgement. As one of the delegates of the 2014 National Confab, do you think the resolutions that emanated from the confab will be addressed by the incoming government? If the president-elect wants to solve Nigeria’s problems, he must consider the need to restructure the country. As difficult as it may be, he has the sole responsibility of implementing the outcome of the National Conference so that Nigeria can move forward. A lot of things are expected of him especially his campaign promises. How do you describe President Jonathan’s character when he conceded defeat and congratulated his opponent? President Jonathan conceded defeat even before the declaration of election result and that solved many problems in the country. Even though there were irregularities in the election, from South to the North, the simplicity of Jonathan played out in the general elections; were it not for that, the country would have been in crisis now. I think African leaders should emulate this gesture so as not to give room for unnecessary war. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/the-structure-nigeria-needs-under-buhari-by-gani-adams

As the May 29 handover date draws near, fresh controversy over the election results has been ignited between the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states. According to two online portals, Premium Times and Sahara Reporters, the governorship elections in the two states were flawed. Both websites reported that the votes cast were more than the number of voters accredited by card readers in the states. While the PDP in Rivers State insisted that the online report was not true, the APC said the report was true and factual. The reports specifically indicated that while the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the PDP governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, as the winner of the April 11, poll with 1,029,102 votes, only 292,878 voters were accredited for the election in the state. Speaking in separate interviews with SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, accused the APC of sponsoring reports against his party. Nwanosike explained that the that the PDP would not panic adding that the party would emerge victorious at the tribunal. Nwanosike said, “What makes up accredited voters are those cards that were verified, authenticated and those that were verified and not authenticated. If the card is verified and authenticated, it would read in the machine as being successful. “If a card is verified as INEC card and it is not authenticated, it would show red; it would decline. At that point, INEC said one should use the incident form to accredit the person. A lot of such incidents happened and people used incident forms to get accredited and vote.” But the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, dismissed PDP’s claim that the online report was false, adding that his party decided not to immediately put the information on the conflicting figures of the governorship election in the state in public domain. He told SUNDAY PUNCH that the INEC in Abuja had obliged the legal team of the state APC the information that was recently published by the online platforms. Finebone pointed out that the PDP rigging machine was good at everything, but lacked the sense of Mathematics, adding that it was clear, even to a toddler that ‘some fellows’ awarded figures to themselves. He said, “Because of the position we occupy, some of us are not expected to put out certain information just like that. But I am happy that this information has gone viral. But I can assure you that we knew this close to two weeks ago when the information was obliged our legal team. “The legal team of the State APC was privy to this information that is currently online. But we have our systematic way of managing information, especially critical information like this. That was why you probably did not hear it from us.” When contacted to react to the online report, the State INEC Public Relations Officer, Antonia Nwobu, told our correspondent that she had not read the report. Nwobu, however, promised to react to the matter as soon as she read it. In Akwa Ibom, the hierarchy of the APC said they were aware of the situation and had already taken some steps, one of which was to notify the party top echelon including the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd). In text messages to SUNDAY PUNCH, APC chairman, Dr. Amadu Atai; said the matter came to the fore during a visit of Akwa Ibom State delegation to Buhari, in Abuja in May 7, to congratulate him over his election victory. “For instance, data obtained from INEC head office in Abuja show that the total number of accredited voters captured by card readers for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Akwa Ibom State was 437,128, but the figure declared by the state INEC office was 1,122,836,” Atai said. However, calls and text messages to the Commissioner of Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah and the PDP Governorship Campaign Publicity Director, Udom Ekarette Udo and the State Chairman, Paul Ekpo were not responded to. When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman, Kayode Idowu, replied via e-mail “I think these are posers best directed to the tribunal with requisite evidence,” he said. http://www.punchng.com/news/gov-poll-controversy-over-rivers-aibom-results
