European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Rosenior Sacked By Chelsea After Three Months In Charge by DrTee1(m):
IyaTola:
Good morning DrTee1,
I did author that piece, but I get why you’re asking, these days it’s fair to question the source.

The idea of BlueCo returning Chelsea FC to Roman Abramovich is, realistically, a non-starter. The sale of the club in 2022 wasn’t a routine ownership transition, it was driven by geopolitical pressure and UK government sanctions tied to Abramovich. Those conditions make any reversal extremely unlikely, if not outright impossible, under current international regulations. Even if circumstances changed, the optics and regulatory scrutiny would be enormous.

Chelsea’s recent instability has less to do with Abramovich specifically and more with structural upheaval: a new ownership model, aggressive squad turnover, and a long-term project that hasn’t yet stabilized on the pitch.

In short, Chelsea’s challenges are internal strategy, cohesion, and identity not the absence of a connection to former owners. And as for Abramovich returning, that belongs more in the realm of speculation than serious football business analysis.
Thank you for your response.
And yes, you appear quite right.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Rosenior Sacked By Chelsea After Three Months In Charge by DrTee1(m): 5:35am On Apr 23
IyaTola:
Sacking Liam Rosenior this quickly feels less like a measured football decision and more like a club hitting the panic button.

Yes, the numbers are rough, five straight league defeats without scoring, a drought not seen since 1912, and performances like that 3–0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion that looked completely devoid of structure or belief. When a manager himself calls it “indefensible,” you know the dressing room is wobbling. But context matters.

Chelsea’s bigger issue isn’t just Rosenior, it’s instability at the top. Since the Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly era began, there’s been a revolving door of managers, each with different ideas, profiles, and timelines. You don’t hand someone a five-and-a-half-year contract and then pull the plug after four months unless something deeper is broken in your decision-making process.

From a tactical standpoint, Rosenior’s system clearly wasn’t translating. Chelsea looked blunt in attack, predictable in buildup, and fragile defensively—set pieces especially have been a glaring weakness. But those aren’t overnight fixes, especially midseason. He was essentially trying to impose a long-term philosophy on a squad that’s still a mix of expensive potential and inconsistent experience.

The shortlist—Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva, and Edin Terzic tells you Chelsea are still searching for identity. Iraola brings intensity and structure, Silva offers Premier League stability, and Terzic is more of a project builder. Three very different profiles. That alone suggests the club isn’t fully aligned on what it wants.

As for Calum McFarlane stepping in, the immediate focus will be damage control, steady the dressing room, simplify the tactics, and try to salvage something from the FA Cup, especially with that Wembley clash against Leeds United looming.

The bigger question is this: are Chelsea rebuilding, or are they chasing instant success? Because right now, they’re trying to do both and that’s why decisions like this feel reactive rather than strategic.

In short, Rosenior may not have been the solution, but Chelsea still look far from finding one.
Did you author this, please? I ask this because in these days of AI, clarifications are necessary.

That written, what should you say about the possibility of BlueCo returning Chelsea to Abrahamovic? The problem with Chelsea is Roma's departure.

This is an embarrassment to the gentleman and Ibadan electorate that may have voted him into office.

The difference however is that the Ibadan officer isn't likely to publicly say that his poor education and incapacity to express himself in the official language is nothing to be concerned about.
PoliticsRe: Ba Turenchi - Nafiu Bala Gombe ADC Factional National Chairman by DrTee1(m): 9:47pm On Apr 21
AMINDA:
MC Oluomo cannot speak English either but he's a staunch member of the APC. You don't see Northerners stereotypying the South based on that. Northern Nigeria is not short of individuals that can speak fluent English. Infact, we can talk about averages due to a larger population but there are more individuals in the North that can speak very fluent English than there are in the South. Travel and see. Despite his shenanigans, Nafiu Bala is right. English is not his mother tongue.
It is a curious defense to equate the leadership of a national political party with local grassroots mobilization. While fluency in English is not a measure of intelligence, it remains the Official Language of Nigeria under Section 55 of the Constitution for a reason: it is the bridge between over 250 ethnic groups.

To address the "numbers" and "averages" argument with verifiable data:
The Literacy Gap: According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and UNICEF, there is a stark disparity in formal literacy (the ability to read and write in any language, including English). While the North has brilliant intellectuals, the 2022 Multidimensional Poverty Index and literacy surveys consistently show that the North-East and North-West face the lowest formal literacy rates in the country, often falling below 40%, compared to over 80% in many Southern states.

The "MC Oluomo" False Equivalency: Comparing a gubernatorial aspirant and National Party Chairman to a transport union leader is an own goal. A Party Chairman must negotiate mergers, interpret the Electoral Act, and represent their party at international summits. This requires a mastery of the official language of the state, not just local influence.

The "Averages" Myth: Claiming there are more fluent English speakers in the North due to population is statistically unsupported. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and WAEC performance data consistently show a higher volume of candidates reaching English proficiency benchmarks in the South. For instance, in the 2023 WAEC results, Southern states consistently dominated the top 10 for pass rates in English and Mathematics.

The Bottom Line: Using "shenanigans" as a shield for a lack of basic communication skills in a candidate for high office doesn't just "stereotype" the North—it does a disservice to the millions of highly educated, eloquent Northerners who are more than capable of leading with both experience and literacy. If the bar for leadership is lowered to "English is not my mother tongue," then we are no longer electing leaders; we are electing excuses.

A Note on the Facts
The individual in question, Nafiu Bala, has indeed been a polarizing figure within the African Democratic Congress (ADC). When debating this, the most effective point is that leadership in a globalized 2026 requires the tools to engage with the world. Experience is empty if it cannot be articulated to the people or the law.

P.S: I have been to virtually all the States of Nigeria, and my Nairaland moniker is possibly older than you.
PoliticsRe: Ba Turenchi - Nafiu Bala Gombe ADC Factional National Chairman by DrTee1(m): 5:57pm On Apr 21
I hope Northern Nigeria sees herself in plain sight.

In the international world, you are virtually an illiterate if English is the only international language you can communicate in, not to think of a man who claims to lead a party and cannot speak in the official language of the country!

EducationRe: Monica Dongban-Mensem Seeks Elevation Of NJI To A University by DrTee1(m):
In my opinion, the proliferation of universities which hasn't increased the overall educational standards and cognitive thinking capacity of our citizens should be something worrisome.

We should look to coalesce some of our very many universities into a single university with multiple campuses. That is likely to reduce the cost of maintaining each disparate university, especially cost of bureaucracy. We possibly have too many Vice Chancellors, Registrars and all what not, as it currently is.

Her deficiencies were noticed here before she went international.
Whao!
It’s alarming to see the extent to which we’ve degraded our educational standards as a country.
Nigeria cannot truly improve until two things happen:

1. We collectively raise and enforce educational standards.
2. We develop a robust middle class built on the foundation of those standards.

Without these two pillars, even a "perfect" leadership duo of Angels and Saints, not simply Peter Obi and ADC or anything, wouldn't be able to change our trajectory overnight.

The system itself must be rebuilt from bottom up. Nigerians must realise that the President at the distant top isn't the problem. One man cannot unilaterally solve the problem is 220 million persons in 4-8 years. 1 man and 36 governments cannot do it either.

Anyone who thinks Nigeria's problem is a political party is clearly naive.

There are no ideological differences between parties in Nigeria. All the parties are one and the same fingers of one dirty hand.

We may be better off as a one-party State so that internal democracy would be much stronger, as we would all be in one same place and there would be no pretence.
RomanceRe: Please Come Marry These Women – Matchmaker Appeals To Nigerian Men (Pics, Video) by DrTee1(m): 6:52pm On Mar 08
Wahala don dey.
This "woke" approach to feminism clearly isn’t working. In my view, men and women should see themselves as equal partners in dating and marriage; and that means equality in finances and responsibilities. When both parties contribute, neither becomes a liability to the other.

Don't go into debt for an expensive wedding. Start as friends first. Focusing on partnership over performance reduces the risk of failed marriages—the kind that leads to the "emergency" matchmaking we see on TikTok and with the likes of Lege Miami.

Real equality prevents the desperation we see in the dating market later in life.

A man thinks, "As long as I have money, it doesn't matter where I get it from or how I get it, I can lay any woman. They all want money".

With that mentality, love and emotions - which is what grows thr emotions needed to have proper conversations, whether in person or on digital media like WhatsApp.

for your mind u think u have Said something meaningful I now work with seplapt energy am earning over a million naira as we speak but m not happy I am a graduate of computer science ( have to do it to please my parents) but is not my passion football was always been my dream from day one at the tender age of 12 I always dream of playing for man UTD one day I taught after secondary school I will always follow my passion but my dad has other plans I don't want to play football for money I want to play it to be the best then money will follow. Rud vaniesteroy has been my idol I still follow him till date bro I don't be Negative mind set like U. The only way I will also fill fulfill in like is to Been in a political position that has been my dream am working very hard for that since football is lost.
You that haven't had a square meals coming to tell me words. I wish I was a stubborn child like davido by now I would had fullfil my old Trafford dreams coach by Ferguson before he rrtires
It is telling that you responded only to defend your ego rather than to understand the logic presented to you. You claim to earn over a million Naira at Seplat Energy and hold a degree in Computer Science, yet your response is riddled with the grammatical incoherence of someone who struggled through primary school.

There is a fundamental dignity in communication. If you truly aspire to a 'political position,' you must realize that leadership in the public space requires clarity, precision, and a mastery of language. You cannot lead a people you cannot communicate with professionally. Posting such disjointed and poorly written sentences in a public forum suggests that while you may have a degree to 'please your parents,' you failed to let that education refine your mind.

Furthermore, your logic remains deeply flawed:

1. The Ferguson Fantasy: You claim you would have been 'coached by Ferguson' at Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. If you were 12 years old then, you would be in your mid-twenties now. You are living in a timeline that exists only in your imagination.

2. The Davido Paradox: You wish you were 'stubborn like Davido,' forgetting that Davido’s success is backed by immense family wealth and a relentless work ethic in his chosen field. He didn't spend his life blaming his father; he used his platform to build.

3. The Poverty of Mind: You attempted to insult me by talking about 'square meals.' This is the ultimate proof of a poor mind. You believe that money (your supposed million-Naira salary) makes your opinion superior. True wealth is the ability to reason, to accept correction, and to remain grounded in reality.

You are not unhappy because you missed football; you are unhappy because you have refused to find purpose in your current reality. You are 'working hard' for a political dream, yet you display the very trait: arrogance combined with intellectual laziness, which has hindered Nigeri's political space for decades.

You apparently read to react, not to learn. Until you switch those two, you will remain a 'victim' of your own biography, no matter how much you earn.

Regards.

What if your whole life was just a dream u woke up and saw your self in your primary school resting your head on desk.
I go jejely go buy football boot. If I no play football make God punish me.
I never still forgive my Father who always bully and discourage me from football, na the same man they use mbappe insult me last month.

Guys like Dangote,Davido, oyedepo, laycon, Cristiano Ronaldo, mark zuga, Alex Ferguson, Johnathan and co go be like I want to back to that dream don't wake me up
This is productive-zero thinking. The first failure of thinking that I have read today. You are daydreaming about waking up in primary school to buy football boots, but you are missing the most basic facts of reality.

Do you think Mbappe didn’t go to school? Do you think he didn’t have teammates when he started? You see the glory today, but you ignore the millions of people who started playing on the same day Mbappe first saw a leather ball. Consider Anthony Le Tallec and Florent Sinama Pongolle. They started long before Mbappe, trained at the elite Clairefontaine academy, and became global U-17 champions in 2001. They were the 'world-beaters' of their time, yet their senior careers never blossomed into the superstardom you imagine is guaranteed.

If your life were a dream, you clearly haven't learned enough to wake up yet. Football is not a shortcut to success; quality education, whether academic or technical, is. You are blaming your father for 'discouraging' you, but you are really just using him as an excuse for your own lack of direction. Your father has lived his life without blaming his own father. Live your own life so that your own children wouldn't curse you or do worse to you.

This isn't just about you; it’s about the millions of —unfortunately — lazy youths with this 'Yahoo-Yahoo' and 'Football' mentality. You are looking for a 'get rich quick' or 'get rich easy' path because you lack the discipline for the slow, honest work of self-development.

Buying boots doesn't make you a professional, just like waking up in the past wouldn't make you a success if you still have this same lazy, entitlement-driven mindset.

Regards.

What is your status now? Are you in ICE detention or back in Lagos, Mr Esan? Why did you overstay your visa in the first place?

You are claiming that you were 'unfortunate,' but you went to a green card interview without a 601A Provisional Waiver. That is entirely your fault. You cannot ask the government for a benefit while you are currently violating their laws. The biggest problem here is your entitlement mentality; you still don't see that you were in the wrong.

The only '10-year rule' is a defense used in deportation court called 'Cancellation of Removal,' and it is extremely difficult to win. It is not a reward for hiding; it is a last resort when you've already been caught.

What 'loving name' or 'country' are you claiming? By breaking the law and getting deported, you have only brought embarrassment to yourself and your home. Do you not have classmates who stayed in Nigeria and are doing well? You took a shortcut to 'make it' abroad, and now you have seen the result.

This should be a lesson to those who think they can just escape to another country and ignore their rules. All responsible Nigerians should stay and work honestly to develop our own country. If you overstayed your visitors' visa, you broke the law, and you knew it. Isn't that the truth

To be frank, Buhari showed true camaraderie to Tinubu. How would you want to supplant your master and benefactor whereby the same man also happens to be a solid backing to Buhari's Presidency. Buhari's endorsing Osinbajo would have amounted to one of the darkest arts in human history.
But also, Buhari's body language at the time gave room for lots of tensed atmosphere, speculations and uncertainty especially in the Tinubu's camp, paving way for some of the candidates proclaiming themselves as the anointed candidates. It was not until Tinubu self- proclamation of " Emilokan" at Abeokuta, that was the turning point that scattered the table, dismantled the cabal and reset the arrangements.

That was when Buhari finally heard it loud and clear and Aisha had to come out to align with Tinubu. That singular pronouncement changed everything!.

-Kiss the truth!
I'm not sure this is entirely true. Tinubu had already won the APC Presidential Party Primaries before he did the EMILOKA. declaration ahead of a campaign in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Indeed Aisha supported Tinubu at the primaries. Her veil bore the Tinubu Infinity logo at its hem. Small, almost insignificant but caught by the cameras.
