The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit Three, like the number of World Cups to his credit; three, like the name of the artist's birthplace (“Tres Coracoes”, that is to say “the Three Hearts”); three, like the number of marriages contracted by the man with a stormy private life, on which we will not dwell here. What is certain is that the individual liked to evolve in bundles of Trinity. His name was *PELE*, and he was called the King. Make no mistake about it: there is PELÉ, and there are the others. At a time when lawns were just a potato field, when defenders committed attacks without taking a card, when training equipment and medical logistics had nothing to do with what we have today he, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, defied the rules of logical and rational. At a time when the cameras did not follow you everywhere to immortalize the least of your movements, your goals, your brilliant actions, he splashed his legend three generations! Yes, before him football was just a sport; with him it became an art, a song, a symphony. If Maradona is called the King by the Argentinians, if Eusebio is called the King by the Portuguese, Pelé is called the King by... the whole world! And no one wants to debate it, because it doesn't debate. The absolute master is him! And while the Ballons d'Or did not yet exist for non-European nationals, the man with 77 goals in 92 games under the colors of the Seleçao (1283 goals in total, including nearly 800 approved) returned to world of football THE perfect copy, the most beautiful exam sheet that we have ever seen in football history. From his debut in 1956 at the age of 16 to his retirement in 71, he martyred the most intrepid opponents, from Raymond Kopa's France to the famous Eusebio's Portugal, and he is to date the top scorer in the history of the Intercontinental Cup, which disappeared in 2004. THE COURT OF THE GREAT, VERY VERY GREAT A goal in the quarters, a hat-trick in the semis, a double in the final. Six goals in three World Cup matches (1958) where he started on the bench... and at 17! This is what we remember from the demonic journey of a magician who is unlike anyone else. What Pelé does on the pitch is not normal; he is a mad. And it is not his 643 goals in just 656 matches with FC Santos that will say the opposite. The man whom the Brazilian government designated as "National Treasure" in 1962 to prevent his transfer to the giants of Europe (Real, Milan...) practices a sport that no one understands. There is no coherent explanation for what he is seen doing on the green meadow. The man is a walking miracle, a wild and ruthless talent. But during the Chilean World Cup of 62, after his first match and a goal against Mexico, the young man saw his muscle let go and was forced to abandon the competition. Fortunately, this Brazil comes from another universe, and even without its jewel for the future, it won the tournament, helped by the 4 goals of another wizard, a born dribbler, Manuel Garincha, nicknamed "the arch-footed angel! Yes, the same one whose stadium bears the name in the capital Brasilia, and where Cameroon will be corrected 4-1 against Neymar's Brazil in 2014 Frightened by the performance of a UFO accidentally fallen to earth from the stars, the adversaries will develop, during the World 66 in England, an "Anti-Pelé Plan", aimed at destroying the war machine with all the means at hand! This is how during the first match, after his usual goal - obviously - he was crushed for the first time by a Bulgarian defender, and went to attend the next match against Hungary on the bench. He returns in the third match between Brazil and Portugal, and is the victim of another assassin tackle by a Portuguese sentry, which will require heavy bandages. With its conductor cut like a sausage, the Seleçao left the competition to everyone's amazement. But don't we ever say 2 without 3? The year 1970 brings some innovations. It is notably the first World Cup in color on TV. And precisely, Brazil has also resumed colors. His eyes soaked with the desire for revenge, Pelé - already the King before the coronation - will exorcise everything he comes across in his path, starting with the poor English (winners of the previous edition), then the Romanians (to who he sticks a little double to say hello), before crossing Uruguayin halves. The Auriverde are on a mission to make people forget the nightmare of 1950 and the defeat at the legendary Maracana stadium, against the Uruguayans. 3 goals to 1 later, it's done, with Pelé who didn't score, but who discolored the television of the living rooms of all households with high-class actions. His goals, he reserves them for the final, and it is Italy who will pay the bill at the Azteca stadium in Mexico City. Number 10 sends three assists and a goal, and becomes the only living being to have won the World Cup three times. The whole planet then understands what it already knew in fact: a monster lives among us! SPREAD YOUR WINGS And yet, the master makes the decision to leave the national team the following year, at only 33 years old, because he considers that "it is better to leave when we want you to stay rather than when we want you to leave" . After a few more years at FC Santos to cause sleepless nights to his vis-à-vis, he went into exile in the USA within the New York Cosmos, to popularize a discipline that does not interest many people at Uncle Sam. And it will work - of course! -. 66 goals later, he becomes one of its major symbols, with the local championship in the bag, won in 77 alongside the German Kaiser, the double Ballon d'Or Franz Beckenbauer. Pelé finishes best player with 13 goals and 10 assists, and it's starting to be too much. To believe that the other players are only tree trunks! And since everything has an end, the Lord of football will retire definitively the same year, to become the symbol, the myth, the legend that he is today, and that we have been told since our birth. An exceptional event occurred in 1969, during an African tour of FC Santos. While Pelé and his band cross swords against Nigeria in Lagos in the middle of the Biafra war (1967-1970), the two opposing sides decide on a ceasefire of around 48 hours during the match , and Samuel Ogbenmudia, governor of the border region with the separatists, decided to open the bridge to traffic in order to allow football enthusiasts to attend the match, and to see with their own eyes, the one we wonder if he really exists. Today Pelé no longer exists; the king is dead ! And yet the King lives; Pelé will always exist, since he has always existed since we exist. The whole earth says goodbye and thanks to an exceptional champion, to a mysterious entity whose crown no one really dared to challenge. For 82 unreal years, we have had proof that God exists... and that he is black! Homework: How many Ballons d'Or would he have won if it weren't for these discriminatory rules? And if he had at the same time evolved at Real Madrid? In the end, it is better not to know. Because that would have been a barbaric number for the fragile hearts Long live *PELE*! Long live the King! IMAGE CREDIT : The Indian Express *Carlos Mekontchou*. (My last day of the year)

Vitrified tiles refer to the tiles that are made by the process of vitrification. In this process, high temperatures are used for baking the tiles. Porcelain tiles are also vitrified tiles and generally fall in the category of full vitrified tiles. It means that a porcelain tile has the water absorption of less than 0.5 percent. Thinking about replacing your tiles? Then you might hear various names in the tiles industry and you might get confuse. Two such terms are vitrifi0ed and porcelain. Sometimes you may also hear vitrified porcelain. Vitrified tiles have got the name from the word 'vitrify' referring to the process of making a glass or similar to a glass. All the tiles that are made using the method of vitrification fall in the category of vitrified tiles. This tile is known for its capacity to absorb less water and also for being stain resistant. Vitrified tiles are composed of a mixture containing silica and clay. This mixture is used to form a non-porous tile that has a glassy texture. Porcelain tiles fall in the category of vitrified tiles and therefore, they are also sometimes referred to as only vitrified tiles. These tiles are fully vitrified, glazed or unglazed and are generally made from a mixture of clays and feldspars. They are shaped by pressing a powdered body. These tiles have water absorption less than 0.5% (iso 10545-3). Specific characteristics of these tiles are: 1. High mechanical strength 2. Frost resistance 3. Good abrasion resistance. Porcelain tiles are also considered as a form of ceramic tiles as these tiles also use a mixture of fine grain clays and other minerals. However, a porcelain tile can be differentiated from other ceramic tiles on the basis of its dense body and also the use of a very high temperature for the firing. These tiles are made by the dust pressed method. Thus, the tiles are denser and more durable than other ceramic tiles. These tiles are grained finished. A true porcelain tile has the same color throughout its body. If the tile chips, then also it become less noticeable as same color is observed underneath the chipped surface. It comes in two important forms: glazed and non-glazed. Glazed porcelain: - it has filled up holes that are microscopic. Unglazed porcelain: - unglazed tiles remain in its natural form with no added glaze. Unglazed is preferred for its durability over the non-glazed ones. Glazed possess better looks than the unglazed ones and thus, are preferred for shops etc. In addition to these categories, a porcelain tile can be of polished or semi-polished type. An elaborate technique is used to provide the finish to these tiles. Due to the benefits of these tiles over other ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles usually cost approximately 10% more than the regular non porcelain ceramic tiles. These tiles are more resistant to moisture and therefore, they are generally used in the bathrooms or laundry rooms. It comes with the added advantage of durability. Setting of these tiles can be a difficult task. The tiles are very hard and strong and thus, require a lot of effort to cut into the desirable shapes. Thus, we can easily differentiate between the two. Vitrified tiles refer to the tiles that employ the vitrification process in making, whereas a porcelain tile is a type of fully vitrified tile and thus, specifically has water absorption of less than 0.5 percent. The Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress in Ondo have disagreed over the N50bn bond recently initiated by the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, to fund infrastructural development. Akeredolu, who observers claim is eyeing a second term in office, said that he requested the approval for the N50bn bond from the Ondo State House of Assembly to complete projects already initiated by his administration. But disagreeing with the governor’s reason for seeking the fund, top members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo described the development as an attempt to plunge the state further into debt. According to the PDP, the state doesn't need to borrow funds to complete any significant infrastructural projects going by the monthly allocation it gets from the federal account. Ayo Fadaka, a stalwart of the PDP in Ondo and its Publicity Secretary in the Southwest, accused the government of Akeredolu of wasting the state's resources. He said, “It is unfortunate that this man is trying to add debt burden on our state. “What does he need N50bn bond for, what infrastructure is he pursuing? What we do know of his intention is that he is already looking for funds to buy votes during the next election. “But we want to assure him that, that will not save him. “When you talk about infrastructural development, you must have a budget before you go and borrow money. “As far as we are all concerned, the APC government of Akeredolu has no business borrowing N50bn, the state does not even need it.” Also, PDP spokesperson in the state, Zadok Akintoye, said Governor Akeredolu’s plan to raise N50bn through bond is a sign and indictment of bad leadership especially considering the N52bn debt profile of the state as at 2018. He said, “The recent approval by the Ondo State House of Assembly for Rotimi Akeredolu to access a loan of 50bn calls for deep concern. “While we are well aware that states may access loans from the capital market to finance projects that may not be covered by available resources, our concern is that Ondo State is doing so at a time when its financial inflow from Federal allocation, internally generated revenue and other earnings from past investments of the state, are at a fairly steady level. “Considering our present domestic debt profile of about N52bn as at 2018 and an external debt profile of about $50m, it is worrisome to see that the Akeredolu is resorting to further borrowing rather than reducing the debt burden of the state.” Reacting to the allegation by the PDP, a chieftain of the APC in the state, Ayoola Bamidele, said Akeredolu had the right to seek a bond in the capital market. He said, “All the projects lying low in Ondo are due to lack of funds, they would have been completed if money was available. “So, rather than waiting for federal allocation, Governor Akeredolu decided that there was need to get the N50bn bond. “The fund is to help him embark on and complete developmental projects in the state. “I totally disagree that it was meant to fund his second term election bid.” Also reacting to the allegation by the PDP, spokesperson for the state government, Donald Ojogo, said that Akeredolu will not dwell on baseless issues. He said, “Rotimi Akeredolu was elected into power not to complain but to provide infrastructure in the state even though there is no money. “So, the man (governor) decided to think outside the box and one of the noble things he did was to pay regular salaries of workers including the backlog he met on the ground. “This administration has not received up to N6bn from the federation account since coming on board. “Rather than going to the bank to obtain a loan, the government decided to go through the bond process. “This N50b that was approved by the House of Assembly, is only to help sustain and enhance further development in Ondo. “Let me also make it clear that the bond or money is not coming into the government's purse, it is between the capital market and the banks where the fund will be domiciled. “This bond is tied to specific projects.” Source: http://saharareporters.com/2019/09/16/ondo-pdp-apc-clash-over-akeredolu%E2%80%99s-n50bn-bond

THE Presidency has announced the passing of Alhaji Tijani Yusuf on Wednesday morning after a brief illness. Aged 63, Alhaji Yusuf, popularly called TJ, was until his transition, the Special Assistant (Special Duties) to Jalal Arabi, Permanent Secretary, State House, Abuja. A very likeable and unassuming gentleman, Yusuf was known for his excellent administrative skills, most notably, his pivotal roles during Swearing-in/Oath-taking ceremonies of top appointees of the Federal Government before Nigerian leaders. In recognition of his meritorious services, Yusuf was given the national honours of Member of the Order of Niger, (MON 2006), and Officer of the Order of Niger, (OON 2012) after receiving several commendation letters including one from the Archbishop of Canterbury. Deployed to the State House in 1994 from the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development, he rose to the rank of Director in 2013, and retired in 2016 after decades of serving several Nigerian military and civilian leaders. President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to two Bills passed by the 8th National Assembly, upgrading the College of Agriculture, Zuru, Kebbi State, to a full-fledged University, and reforming punitive measure of the Architects Registration Council. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) Mr Ita Enang disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday. Enang said the assenting of the Federal College of Agriculture Bill had upgraded the school from a ‘Federal College of Agriculture’ to a full-fledged Federal University of Agriculture, with all the powers and status of a university. He explained that the assented Architects Registration Council (Amendment) Bill has increased the penalty fee from N1,000 to N500,000. The presidential aide said this would generally enhance the architect registration process. He also said that the Bill was also designed to enhance the Council’s penalties and make the appeals from the Disciplinary Committee lie with High Court. Enang explained that there were cogent reasons for any Bill that has not received assent of the President. In a related development, the aide said Buhari, upon receipt of communication from the National Assembly, will on a date he will fix, notify the screened and cleared ministerial nominees. Enang also explained that the Constitution does not compel the President to assign portfolio to the nominees. He said the presidency was thankful to the senate for shifting its vacation to concentrate on the screening and confirmation of the ministerial nominees. A crisis is brewing between the Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and state lawmakers over the dilapidated condition of the House of Assembly building. This follows the recent invasion by a snake through the ruptured ceiling of the complex. The lawmakers had alleged that the state government failed to repair the building, saying the situation was so bad that a snake fell from its roof into the chambers of the parliament while the lawmakers were at plenary. This was the reason the house was forced into a recess. Prior to the controversy, the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, had informed the media of the poor state of the complex due to unavailability of appropriated funds. Mr Akeredolu later visited the complex and said that funds had been disbursed to the legislature appropriately, noting that the assembly itself had failed to imbibe a proper maintenance culture. PREMIUM TIMES checks showed that the assembly had a total budget of N493 million earmarked for capital projects in the 2019 appropriation, of which N142 million was for construction and renovation of the parliament building. An additional N10 million was earmarked for the upgrade of the assembly’s conference and recording systems. The chairman of the House Committee on Information, Gbenga Omole, told journalists on Monday in Akure that funds were yearly voted for the renovation of the house, “but the votes were never cash-backed”. PREMIUM TIMES is yet to ascertain his claims. “We cannot say because we are friends to the governor and not say the truth,” he said. “The speaker said money is voted for the renovation every year, but it is not backed with cash. They did not release money for repair, yet you pass their budgets.” Mr Omole said the state government was planning to borrow about N30 billion and “the house might not approve it if something was not done to change the situation at the complex.” Mr Omole said the lawmakers were not out to blackmail the governor or the government as insinuated by Mr Akeredolu during his visit to the complex. Government reaction The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, decline comment on the issue when reached by PREMIUM TIMES. However, he said there was no problem between the governor and the lawmakers, adding that “the issues had been brought before the public and nothing was left to be said”. Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state said the development at the house was unfortunate. “Our party uses this opportunity to advise the honourable members to rise up in defence of the people’s mandate given to them and to save the legislative arm of government from ridicule,” a statement signed by the PDP spokesman, Zadok Akintoye, noted. “PDP notes the recent unfortunate incident that occurred at the Ondo State House of Assembly, where members allegedly fled the hallowed chambers due to the presence of a snake within the legislative hall. This event calls for deep concern from all citizens. “And now that such issue has become a subject of unfortunate accusation and counter-accusation from the people whose heads carry the mandate of the masses, with an arm of government name tagging the other arm as blackmailers, we will hope the matter will get the required investigative attention and the records be set straight as a show of respect for the mandate the good people of Ondo State. “It is on record that the Rt. Hon. Oloyelogun-led APC dominated House of Assembly has not lived up to its responsibilities as an independent arm of government.” Source: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/ssouth-west/343812-akeredolu-ondo-lawmakers-bicker-over-assembly-building-condition.html
