HealthNigerian Doctor Forms First Natural Product “GASHEE” For CCCA Hair Loss by DrULifestyle(op): 2:10am On May 04, 2022
New Plant-Based GASHEE Reported as First Botanical with Positive Response Towards Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA)

Dr. Sanusi Umar MD is a Nigerian-born physician who specializes in hair transplantation in the United States. Through his years of experience as a certified dermatologist and hair expert, he has formulated a natural product “GASHEE” (i.e. “hair” in Hausa) to help combat hair loss and other symptoms found in CCCA patients.

In a recently published peer-reviewed journal, Clinical Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, Dr. UGro GASHEE Botanical Products have been reported to have a positive response towards all patients in the study who have had a history of CCCA.

Typically, these patients were given pharmaceutical, drug-based treatments before with little to no improvement. After the cessation of these drug-based treatments and switching over to Gashee natural botanical products, patients reported drastic improvements in hair growth, volume, and density, as well as improvements in hair health.

What is CCCA?
Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) is a disease characterized by permanent hair loss that begins at the central crown of the scalp and widens circularly over time. Left untreated, this relentless disease can form a large, permanent, and noticeable bald spot at the top center crown of the head.

CCCA is a common cause of hair loss in women of African descent, affecting an estimated up to 15% of black women above the age of 30, and is the most common cause of scarring alopecia.

The Role of Natural Products - The Future of Medicine
This has been a significant finding as natural products hold promising potential for the future of CCCA treatment, as well as other alopecia-related hair loss conditions due to the nature of natural products potentially being better suited for long-term use due to their more favorable side effect profile.

CCCA Prevention:
While the cause of CCCA is unknown, there are clear aggravators or precipitators of the condition that must be minimized. These include hair grooming practices such as tight braids, weaves, heavy or tight dreadlocks, and harsh chemicals. Here, the rule of thumb is: if it hurts or itches, stop it.

HealthThe Work Of Nigerian Doctor, Sanusi Umar MD Is Now Published by DrULifestyle(op): 12:35am On Apr 02, 2021
Sanusi Umar MD is a Nigerian-born physician who specializes in hair transplantation in the United States. He realized that there are many men and women who cannot benefit from these surgeries. As a man of science with a profound interest in plant medicine, Dr.Umar decided to combine his knowledge in both areas by developing an all-natural hair loss treatment formulation called Gashee (i.e. “hair” in Hausa)

His work, a publication entitled, A Multimodal Hair-Loss Treatment Strategy Using a New Topical Phytoactive Formulation: A Report of Five Cases is now featured in a major medical journal called Case Studies in Dermatological Medicine.

A New View of Hair Loss

Many product treatments for hair loss address very simple pathways in the body, such as DHT and blood circulation. In reality, however, there are many interacting contributors.

According to Dr.Umar, the specific protein signals which regulate the phases of our hair cycle need to be addressed. Plus contributing factors such as inflammation and oxidative damage also hurt our ability to grow new hair.

It is important for an effective treatment to focus on these multiple causal variables. However, this cannot be achieved by synthetic chemicals which rely on a single active molecule to treat a very specific deficit.

Dr. Umar subscribes to a very different approach which is endorsed by famous doctors such as Andrew Weil MD, a graduate of Harvard University. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/why-plants-are-usually-be_b_785139

Plants contain many compound variations and are thus capable of safely addressing multiple targets, not just one.

Real Patient Results Using Gashee Hair Loss Treatment

At his Los Angeles office, the Dr.U Hair and Skin Clinic, Dr. Umar had five of his hair loss patients use his Gashee treatment for 3-15 months. Each suffered from different conditions such as androgenic alopecia (i.e common baldness), traction alopecia (i.e. tension-based hair loss), CCCA (Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia), and post-menopausal hair loss.

Remarkably, all five experienced significant and noticeable improvements in their hair loss conditions as a result of using Gashee. They were incredibly happy with their results.

This set of findings was reported in Dr.Umar’s publication which now represents a breakthrough in hair science and natural product development.

HealthDr.u Discusses Why Tight Braids For Afro-texture Hair May Cause Acne Keloidalis by DrULifestyle(op):
Tight braids for black men and women are often associated with Traction Alopecia hair loss. But what most people don’t quite realize is that the intense pulling caused by braiding hair too tightly may contribute to Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN) a condition which has been shown to affect ethnic men who are genetically predisposed to this progressive skin malady.

Constantly pulling the hair creates permanent damage to the follicles. The skin (of affected individuals) then tries to heal these tears and wounds by constantly producing collagen. This causes what starts off as tiny, small bumps to keep growing. The process often continues until the tissue lesions get even larger and merge together into one large mass.

The onsetting trigger for this patient’s Acne Keloidalis Nuchae was braiding his hair too tightly. Thinking that the initial small lesions were just common razor bumps that would go away, he held off on seeking treatment. The bumps kept growing for 19 years until they became a huge lesional mass on the back of his scalp.

Nigerian native, Dr.U (Sanusi Umar MD), excised the AKN which left a big, gaping wound on the back of this patient’s head. With a greatly reduced skin surface area remaining on the scalp, it became necessary to then gradually close the wound over time using tension sutures. This pulled the edges of the wound together, while allowing the skin to grow new tissue until it resulted in a final, cosmetically acceptable linear scar. Here are before and after images of this landmark AKN surgical removal case.

HealthDr. Sanusi Umar- Intuitive FUE Technology Can Transplant Pubic Hair To Eyelashe by DrULifestyle(op):
Eyelash transplantation using pubic hair was recently made famous by celebrity, Pixee Fox, who is known online for her love of plastic surgery. She discussed this cosmetic procedure on the E! reality show, Botched. The procedure of a pubic hair eyelash transplant may sound odd for some, however, the results speak for themselves and now this type of transplant is being performed by Nigerian Born Doctor (Dr Sanusi Umar - Dr. U) at his clinic in Manhattan Beach, CA.

The VeeLashe™ pubic hair eyelash transplant procedure is performed using Dr. U’s patented Dr.UGraft™ FUE hair transplant system, which has the unique ability to extract all types of hair from the body, including hair from the pubic area. Dr. U found that the characteristics of pubic hair resemble that of a natural eyelash. For example, the pubic hair follicle features a cross-sectional shape which gives the hair its wiry texture. On the other hand, head hair follicles feature a circular shape which does not recreate the look of natural, curly lashes.

To those women who are tired of the rigorous maintenance routine required of eyelash extensions, fake lashes, and conventional transplants, VeeLashe™ may be the solution. According to Dr U, VeeLashe™ results are typically fuller and more natural looking with minimal maintenance required.
HealthSanusi Umar MD Uses His Hair Transplant Technology To Help Teen Born With A Larg by DrULifestyle(op): 7:24pm On Mar 20, 2019
Nigerian born doctor, Sanusi Umar MD, also known as Dr.U has developed a global reputation for his ability to help very difficult hair transplant cases. This is largely due to his groundbreaking technology called Dr.UGraft™. His innovations have been engineered to overcome the barriers that hinder the safe extraction of hair follicles found all over the body which can then benefit many types of hair restoration challenges.

Recently, he performed a pro bono surgery on a young high school student who was born with a large congenital nevus. This dark colored skin mole covered much of the right side of his face. Surgeons were able to replace it with skin grafts derived from his neck and forehead. However, he also lost normal eyebrow and beard growth in these areas.

Dr.Umar was able to restore a more symmetrical looking facial appearance by harvesting leg and nape hair. Normally, these follicles are very difficult to extract and would not be expected to survive using basic punch tools. But with Dr.UGraft ™ technology, this became possible.

Dr. Umar was able to recreate this young man’s right eyebrow and complete the beard growth on both sides of his face. Although the teenager was already very well-adjusted and liked by his classmates, this procedure also helped him achieve a more typical looking appearance, for even greater self-confidence.

AdvertsThe Latest Hair Replacement Technology’s Role In Afro-textured Hair Restoration by DrULifestyle(op): 7:23pm On Dec 07, 2018
It’s hard to deny that the best hair transplant method for permanent relief is a follicular unit extraction procedure. Few other types of hair transplant techniques can offer the same long-term results. FUE extraction tools of the past greatly limited the types of hair able to be excised effectively. This left most patients of African descent out in the cold - service providers would often administer a pre-test to determine whether or not the coiled hair of Afro-textured patients would be something their FUE equipment could handle. This left many precluded from FUE hair replacement with few options of recourse aside from much more invasive forms of hair restoration like strip surgery, which is known for the prominent scars it tends to leave.

What is follicular unit extraction? The FUE hair replacement method involves the extraction of individual donor grafts with something called an FUE punch. Dr. U’s patented FUE system, Dr.UGraft ™, makes use of a flared FUE punch that is optimized not only to address the challenges associated with Afro-textured hair transplant and BHT body hair transplant, but also to minimize FUE scarring and increase graft yield and graft regrowth rate in all types of FUE hair surgery.

A Dr.UGraft ™ FUE procedure requires no hair pre-test. As the first generation of FUE technology able to work with all types of Afro-textured hair from any part of the body, Dr.UGraft ™ is making FUE hair restoration an option for all patients. To learn more about how Dr. U’s design endows Dr.UGraft ™ with the dexterity to accommodate the needs of every patient, check out this short video on FUE punch type released by our office in Redondo Beach, California.

If you’ve ever heard of Pixee Fox, you’re probably more than aware of just what exactly makes her famous. She’s known online for her love of plastic surgery, and Botched on E! plans to feature her on their show this December for yet another cosmetic procedure.

One of her past cosmetic procedures mentioned specifically in this promotional press release is eyelash replacement surgery. Hers was far from an ordinary body hair FUE transplant procedure, however. The donor area of choice? Her pubic area. Yes, it sounds unnecessarily vulgar, but there is a good reason for the unusual source. A pubic hair transplant will result in curlier eyelashes with more life and body in some patients. Dr. U has performed eyelash restorations using similar means with leg hair, as well.

Others looking to follow suit, especially those with curly, kinky, type 4 hair, should definitely look into Los Angeles-based Dr. U’s patented Dr.UGraft™ FUE hair transplant system for their own facial hair restoration. His patented Dr.UGraft™ system is completely unique in its ability to extract all types of Afro-textured hair from anywhere on the body, whether you’re looking to replenish your eyelashes, hairline, or eyebrow area.

It goes without saying that male pattern baldness and hair thinning can affect anybody - why should one of the most versatile, permanent cures for baldness be limited to only a certain type of individual?

Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) hair transplant surgery has, historically, only been consistently effective in patients with thin skin and relatively straight hair. Patients of African descent would often only be able to undergo FUE with a manual, non-rotary punch, a much less efficient means of surgical hair transplant. Los Angeles-based Dr. Umar Sanusi, dissatisfied with this limitation, has made this procedure suitable for patients of all skin and hair types with FUE technology of his own invention.

The Dr.UGraft™ advantage allows all patients of color to benefit from FUE procedures, no hair test required. As the premiere brand of FUE tools for the excision of tightly-curled, Afro-textured hair from anywhere on the body, Dr. U enable patients of all skin types and hair textures to restore their youth and confidence. Losing hair can be a difficult development in anyone’s life. Here are some hairstyles that can work well for receding hairlines:

Flat Top

https://dru.com/hair-surgery/files/2018/09/flat-top-hairstyle.jpg

Why it Works

By keeping the back and sides shorter in length, the top of the head naturally appears thicker. This also helps to take away attention from the temples and hairline and works best for afro-textured hair.

Who This Helps

Men with receding hairline and/or thinning on the crown benefit the most from this look.

Classic Barber Shop Line-Up

https://dru.com/hair-surgery/files/2018/09/line-up-short-hair.jpg

Why it Works

With a classic line-up, your barber can help you reshape your hairline into a more flattering shape using grooming techniques.

Who this Helps

Men with diffuse thinning and/or receding hairline.

Looks to Avoid: The Comb-Over

Why it Won’t Work

Comb-overs are often obvious and do not typically work for hair that is not naturally straight.

Of course, it is also a given that many men also go for the slick bald look with pride. However, shaving the head this short constantly can be somewhat time-consuming and high-maintenance. Also, when done out of necessity and not by choice, it can feel very limiting.

However, even men with severe hair loss can style their hair after a celebrity they admire. You can read more about this here: https://dru.com/hair-surgery/how-to-style-your-hair-like-david-beckham/

milemimi93:
JamaicanLove has square face. Which hairstyle can fit in?
There are several hairstyles that can suit a square face very well. If you are looking to soften a square face, try styling hair into loose waves or straightening it all the way. When wearing hair in an up-do, leave some strands down around the face to soften the edges and create a wispy look. If you'd like to show off a strong jawline, try bangs cut straight across the forehead, or a short bob haircut. Be careful not to cut bangs too blunt, or to slick hair back too much-- these styles can look severe with this face shape.

manisthajain:
Most celebrities have a long and square face, but if anyone round face, so what she use hairstyle?
For round faces, a quick tip is to always leave a little piece of hair untucked on one side of the face. This makes round faces appear more narrow. Parting your hair deeply to one side can also help create more angles around a round face.

Many women with round faces make the mistake of trying to hide their face shape with a lot of hair -- this actually ends up highlighting the roundness of their face. In reality, this face shape is more suited for medium-length hairstyles, especially those with long bangs framing the sides of the face.
FashionBest Hairstyles For Women Based On Face Shape by DrULifestyle(op): 2:02am On Sep 06, 2018
While all hairstyles can be worn according to one’s preference, some styles are more suited to certain face shapes than others. There are 3 general shapes that can describe a face; oval, square, and round.

Oval Face Shape Hairstyles

Oval faces are longer than they are wide, with a rounded hairline and a slightly more rounded jawline. Celebrities with oval faces include Beyonce and Kerry Washington. This face shape tends to look good no matter what the style, although many women prefer to draw their hair into an effortless updo.

https://dru.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/beyonce-up-do-hairstyle-e1536195492754.jpg

Square Face Shape Hairstyles

Square faces tend to be wider, with a prominent jawline. This jawline is believed to contribute to being photogenic -- celebrity examples include Olivia Wilde and Angelina Jolie. Women with square-shaped faces often grow their hair out long in order to draw the eyes downward, adding length to an otherwise shorter face.

https://dru.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Angelina-Jolie-Square-Face-Shape-e1536195577632.jpg

Round Face Shape Hairstyles

Round faces, sometimes also called “baby faces”, are typically the same length and width, with no sharp angles or prominent features. Celebrity examples include Viola Davis and Chrissy Teigen. The best hairstyles for round faces tend to elongate the face to make it appear more oval-shaped, a high ponytail is often the easiest way to do this, although short pixie cuts with choppy layers on top can also produce a similar effect.

https://dru.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/viola-davis-round-face.jpg

For hairstyles that involve updos, care should be taken to not pull hair too tightly. While it may be tempting to get the perfect tight ponytail, the trauma of harsh grooming can result in a condition known as traction alopecia -- a form of female hair loss that even celebrities can't seem to escape about.

HealthHow To Get Rid Of Bumps On The Back Of The Head And Neck by DrULifestyle(op): 9:26pm On Apr 04, 2018
If you have noticed small hard bumps on the back of your head, especially after a haircut or close shave, you are not alone. A recent study showed that 15% of young African American men suffered from acne keloidalis nuchae (AKN), a form of folliculitis in which bumps form on the back of the head and neck.

Many young men can trace the formation of these bumps to a visit to the barber's shop or a haircut. However, the exact cause is unknown. What is known is that, if left untreated, these small bumps can join together into a larger mass of tissue, like the patient below.

https://www.acnekeloidalisnuchae.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/AKN-Removal-flat-plaque-e1521583764936.png

However, there are options for treatment. The only curative treatment is often surgical removal of the affected tissue. When caught early enough, however, AKN bumps may be effectively treated with laser therapy. Medication alone is not guaranteed to get rid of these bumps but may be prescribed by a physician for use with surgical or laser treatment.

Below is a case in which laser treatment successfully got rid of bumps on the back of the neck.

https://img.youtube.com/vi/AP91rvUTUlU/mqdefault.jpg

If you experience bumps on the back of your neck, it is recommended that you consult a doctor or physician for diagnosis and to discuss treatment option.

I also need a cure. Been battling it since 2003
Bumps on the back of the neck that look like keloids or "barber's rash" may actually be acne keloidalis nuchae (AKN). This is a condition of folliculitis, in which the hair follicle becomes inflamed and the body forms bumps while it tries to get rid of it. While it tries to repair itself, thicker, keloid-like tissue can grow over the bumps. this can trap hair inside, which means the condition will keep reoccurring.

https://img.youtube.com/vi/utCeT2fSadk/mqdefault.jpg

In later stages of this condition, the bumps can fuse together into a tumor-like shape. For this reason, it is recommended to consult a dermatologist as soon as possible. When the AKN bumps join together, the only curative treatment is surgical removal of the affected tissue.

https://img.youtube.com/vi/AP91rvUTUlU/mqdefault.jpg

When the bumps are caught and diagnosed early enough, laser treatments may be effective. Medication alone is not guaranteed to cure the condition. Steroid treatments may be helpful in addition to laser or surgical treatment.

Bumps on the back of the head that form after a close shave at a barber's salon are sometimes called "barber's rash". In some cases, these lumps and bumps can persist and even join together to form a mass on the back of the head/neck. This is a condition of folliculitis known as AKN (acne keloidalis nuchae). Medications may help with the symptoms of this condition, but in most cases the condition continues to reoccur. If addressed in its earlier stages, laser treatments may effectively get rid of these bumps on the back of the head. Otherwise, surgical removal is necessary to cure the condition.

I recommend visiting a doctor near you for a proper diagnosis, after which a treatment plan may be decided.

Eating Salty Foods

If you’ve ever woken up the day after a big meal with visible bags under your eyes, chances are it was high in sodium. When the kidney registers high amounts of sodium in the body, it signals the body to retain water, which results in bloating. This bloating is more pronounced underneath the eye due to the thinness of the skin, which explains why under eye bulges can appear so drastic.

To drain the fluid out from underneath the eye, try gently tapping the area with the index finger. This may encourage the excess fluid to drain out faster. If that does not resolve the issue, a diuretic may be used in order to flush out the water and sodium retained in the body.

Sleeping in Awkward Positions

The body continues to circulate fluid while you rest. However, when resting in a position that impedes proper circulation, such as sleeping flat on your back or on one side, gravity guides fluid to accumulate in underneath one or both eyes. This is why you might wake up with puffy eyes, even if you did not have a salty meal or did rest for the proper amount of time.

The issue of eye bags due to sleep position usually resolves itself within hours. To prevent waking up with them in the first place, keep the head slightly elevated with more pillows at night to keep fluid from building up in the face.

Other Causes

There are other reasons you may find yourself with bags underneath your eyes, such as allergies, genetics, and aging. The treatments for these kind of eyebags are not always as simple, and there can be a lot of conflicting information about what works and what does not. There is a list of 5 ways to reduce the appearance of under eye bags here:https://dru.com/5-life-hacks-to-reduce-bags-under-eyes, which addresses which types of eye bags each treatment will resolve.

The condition you are describing may be alopecia areata, also known as "spot baldness". The condition is caused by your immune system attacking your hair follicles. There is no curative treatment for alopecia areata, although the hair often re-grows on its own. A dermatologist may prescribe medication in order to help the hair re-grow more quickly, such as an immunosuppressant or Minoxidil.

I would recommend consulting with a dermatologist near you for an in-person assessment.

Additionally, whenever considering the use of an oil such as the one from castor seeds, it is important that it is organic and cold-pressed, otherwise the beneficial properties of the oil like its concentration of Vitamin E, Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, ricinoleic acid, and other minerals could be lost. With that said, use caution with pure castor oil, as it can cause mild to severe allergic reactions.

The same potentially beneficial properties in castor oil can be found in coconut oil, as well as olive oil. They can be used interchangeably, which is good news for anyone who might be allergic to castor oil.

Step 1

The key to making your brows appear thicker with makeup without making it look obvious is to first find the right color. The pencil should match your roots in color. It can be more muted in tone (grey-ish) or vibrant (red-ish) depending on how intense you want your brows to look.

Step 2

Once you find the right color for you, clear your eyebrows of any foundation, concealer, etc. Clean, fresh eyebrows produce the best results. With a spoolie (the twisted bristle brush typically on the other end of the brow pencil) gently brush your eyebrow hairs in an upward direction. This will show you the gaps that need to be filled in

Step 3

Begin filling your eyebrows in, starting underneath your natural arch and slowly making your way through the the rest of your brow. The key to getting a natural result is to make light, quick strokes with the pencil. Once the eyebrows are filled in, you can extend the tail of your brow or fill in the head of your brow for a more dramatic look. Brush upwards with a spoolie to blend everything together and complete your look.

If a daily makeup routine isn’t your style but you still want fuller brows, you might want to consider more long term choices, like eyebrow tattoos, microblading, or an eyebrow transplant. Read more about getting thicker brows without makeup here: http://dru.com/how-to-get-thicker-eyebrows/

It's tried and true--the line-up is a classic look that never truly goes out of style. By defining the hairline with a sharp, straight line, attention is naturally drawn to the browline and eyes. It should be noted that this look requires dedication, as quite a bit of maintenance is required to keep the edges in line.

Top Knot with Fade

This hairstyle is features a considerable length on top with a classic fade on the sides for a bold, modern look--quite possibly the most daring look in this list. It is important to note that in tying the top portion into a knot, minimally force should be used. Ever since the top knot/man bun trend took off, men have begun reporting hair loss due to traction alopecia--the hair loss that results from hairstyles that pull hair follicles from their roots.
