Hello!

Thanks for your input.

Could have made your point without the sarcasm though (writing skills? I don't understand what you're about).

Rental won't cut it. Each to his own please (might sound cocky but the numbers never lie...mostly and I've run them).

I will get a Principal and very soon too.

To every other well meaning commentator, I'm not towing the rental path so kindly stay your comments relative to that (and if you can avoid throwing shades and/or insults at my person or intent, I'll be much obliged. Like I keep reiterating, no one is being forced to give heed to my senseless proposal).

Regards.

This is visual confirmation of perpetual foolishness in some taxify drivers in general.

Time is 6:09am and they have densely populated VI that is more of a commercial zone, than a residential. Pls who dem wan carry for VI by this time and where will they be going to?

Second picture is a residential zone spanning from 3rd roundabout that these dumb drivers have ignored. People here are trying to get out and get to work but the drivers to pick them up are all in VI, claiming "request no dey" " I no dey get request" "market is dull"

Market will continue to be dull for you and you no go ever get request as long as you choose to remain foolish. From chevron to VI is a little above 2000naira on taxify, but these drivers would claim they cant burn fuel or " I no for blow empty dey go chevron"... Pls, how much fuel will they blow to chevron and how much will they get in return?

your account will continue to remain empty until you change your strategy.

I'm an experienced and disciplined driver. I'm in need of a sound and durable full efficient car to use on the e-hailing platforms. I work for an average of 10hours per day weekly. I use the car more like a pesonal item than a business tool. Partake in mechanical maintenance of the vehicle.

AutosRe: Please Advice Me Between Kia Rio And Hyundai Accent by Drunice23:
cross8701:
Please pay no attention to the first response. Both Rio and the Accent are extremely reliable cars. I own 2 Kia Rio(s) and recently acquired an Accent all within the years you mentioned which are used for Uber. The parts are readily available and are not particularly expensive. Hyundai is the parent company of Kia and the cars you mentioned both use mostly identical parts so it really boils down to the look you prefer. I went for the American versions as they come with better options. Hope this helps and good luck with your search.
I was in kia rio few hours ago. The car is very small and it looks like cars from the 80's . So what year is your rio, so that I can stay away from it. And I ask the driver, he said he hates the car. And also that the owner is collecting 40k a week. I was shocked the car looks like a 2007 model. But the ones from 2012 upwards is a lot better. Looks more modern, but looking at the car and talking to other rio owner. I was told it is the worse car for the job. Well that's my opinion on it. Personally I will never driven one on rental . Even if one picks me up. I will reject it. The car is too small for my liking. And also when the dri

ver was driving on the highway. I thought and felt the car was about to take off and fly. Never would I put myself at risk again

Well, congratulations to daveoja. I dont mean to sound pessimistic but you know, in every enterprise, some gain and some well, might not. Whatever daveoja is doing, he should keep it up so as to sustain the good record. Its a good thing and hope he makes the most out of it however, i dont think i need any advice from him. Since he is making good money and its working for him, he can get more cars to put on the platform and make more money. i am content with what am making anyway...

Wishing you both best of luck

While am not sure the point you getting at, i think you trying to say if you put in extra hours, its profitable and i hope i am correct by that. Well that being so, i dont have a problem with that. I didnt see posting you mentio ed but i know drivers do manipulate systems to either get bonuses or access promo codes. So sometimes when drivers post abnormal profits, it looks enticing but its actually fraud. Even the uber cant guarantee you such amounts. Worst case scenerio is 90k guaranteed earnings for the week. Anything else is desperate efforts and you cant have that all week through. You will breakdown at some point.

Lets be real, the platforms with their new rates gives an average of 1k per hour. If you looking at, lets say 15hrs, thats 15k on daily basis. You cant have 15hrs everyday. Even if you struggle it out, you cant have it week after week. 15k multiplied by 7days which is monday to sunday, you get 105k per week and thats with alot of stress. If the vehicle is yours, its good cos after expenses, you probably be keeping half of that.but when you giving returns to vehicle owners, you probably be getting less. All these is still based on the above rate but the real truth is that you cant have that consistently. So the days you dont meet up, it is out of those days you do that you use in keeping up, so where is the savings in that.

I have been in this for almost 2 years now and i still stand by my point that the business is profitable if the vehicle remains yours. Let the person you mentioned post his earnings for 4 straight weeks, you will understand better

Did you see daveoja earnings that he posted yesterday. He works part time. I spoke to him over the phone yesterday. Why don't you call him and rub minds. We learn everyday bro, and it will cost you nothing. The best things in life are for free, give the young man a call . He has posted his earnings for almost three weeks or so. And he has been doing uber for at least 6months.
To me the business is still profitable, you just have to position yourself. On sunday somebody showed me surge on uber . Another uber driver I met says that the market js flooded, but he still makes money. Did you read stealth posting few days ago? Try and go through the thread bro,

Most uber drivers think they are making money but they never factor in fuel costs, car depreciation, and uber's fees. When they sit down and do the math properly, they will be better off working as bus conductors.

Car TalkRe: 11 Types Of Passengers That Are Most Dreaded By Uber & Taxify Drivers by Drunice23:

You do have a point but I am still of the opinion that the business is only good when you own and drive your vehicle largely becos something still comes in as surplus after expenses no matter how small.

However, if you are to deliver to someone, i really dont see any light at the end of the tunnel. All you can do is feed from hand to mouth with it and thats if you not a family man and the prudent one at that but saving is not sure.

In saner climes, people doing this business are very comfortable but in this part of the world, the business has been twisted and everyone is trying to take advantage of the already weak system ( honestly, thats so naija). If drivers are not manipulatimg the system, the riders are abusing the system. The e hailing companies are doing the both.

Riders should understand and appreciate the efforts of driver considering what they go through to provide the service. For the company, they make money off the drivers so they loose nothing and try to please you but its the drivers that gets ripped off. Afterall, how bad can a win win situation hurt!!!

Also, i use this medium to plead with drivers to ensure they give riders a good driving experience. Driving in Lagos is no joke with all the horrendous laws out there but whats worth doing is worth doing well. We. Must be tolerant and professional. Carrying dofferent people with different emotions and its hard work managing such but we are professionals and must be one always. Thats part of dignity in Labour. It doesnt make you any less important but rather more. Driving is an art and must be communicated professionally. Thats what makes us different bus all those bus drivers. Those ones are not of this world.

Neway, na my 2cents be that
Sorry to pour sand on your gari. I read your comment and I strongly disagree. Did you see daveoja post and how he works 10hrs a day and posted his earnings. I am very sure he didn't photoshop it. Let's us learn from people like him. One thing I noticed is that the drivers want to make more than owners, what about the bankers, are you aware what time they get up in the morning, and hours they put in, and still how much money are they getting paid. So do you think it's slavery job? If the Bankers feel that way they should go open their own bank. Same goes for the drivers, if they feel that it is slavery work they should go to the bank and borrow money to buy a car. And than have them pay back the bank. Than you will realize the true meaning of slavery . Let us be honest with ourselves o
