'POWERSTAR' HANDLING OF 11137 TP ON AMOS

I have been noticing how some recievers like SRT 4950, 4935, powerstar and digisat breakup audiovisual on 11137 TP on amos. However, today, i went to purchase one of the powerstar series in alaba and to my surprise, the decoder worked perfectly on all channels including the problematic TP.

On the second look, i noticed the following on the decoder :

The user interface was pretty different from the regular power star (looking more like strong)

Blind scanning wasn't as super fast as the regular power sat decoders but was still fast.

The signal reading was almost same as on strong decoders.

I want to believe this series of decoder is a result of improvement over the previous linux receivers and we should happy about it.

Nice talk jare. all these satellite babies that are crying like my 3year old child need to get some senses into their skull. Blocking of biss keys can happen as a result of many things no one can control.For so many years,we were watching some jsc sports channels on nilesat &hotbird with bisskeys well publicized on all satellite forums(RDI,NAIRALAND,SATUNIVERSE etc). Heaven didn't fall during those years na. so why fooling around with nonsense codes! like fatai,biscuits,beans? i am sure most people crying foul are those who watch that hustler tv channel. Please i would like to know the folowing abt str 4950; whether it accept BISS, handles consat tp (tvc) & can work with cccam without a router. I went for 4950H or 4950M bt couldnt get either.

well i got a 4950 box from one of strong's major dealers @ alaba recently. on the box,an inscription 'upgraded to 4950h' was placed on the carton .i have used it for tvc and it handles it well but the 11137 v 30000 channels(bbc ) on amos breaks intermittently. the software version i have here is V2.42. the F1 8280 key isnt bringing out anything .i want to believe a software upgrade will resolve the breaking bbc package and the biss key patch but am so afraid to load software because this box looks so much like a china strong.the interface looks very much like those qsat and the rest china hd decoders. pls let other members using this box confirm if this is fake or not

@brite . next time,always place your queries in the proper thread.anyway,your lnbf problem is caused by the bridging of the copper wire & the aluminium sheet at the f-connector point.check the two points at the lnb mouth & the decoder mouth &correct the problem

@all.pardon me if this is off-topic but i seriously need your assistance.
On saturdy,My dstv decoder lost signal on some channels notably afmag,ss9,channelo&others.i transferred the same cable to my strong box &those channels were all loud &clear on it.what i noticed is that all the channels on 12245 h 27500 and some other tp's failed to come up on the dstv box while they came up on strong box.i have done factory reset without any success.pls i need your advice.thanks

if you're using original 69xii,you shouldn't be having any audio issue on multitv/infinity because its factory-aac audio codec embedded.just change the audio track from left to right&see if the sound comes out otherwise you may have to upgrade with the aac firmware -although @your own risk.read previous posts for the way to go on that.

i'm not going down with you on the dirty lane of name calling but again i would tell you what i know.most tv viewers have areas of interest-either latest news, solid movies,exciting sitcoms/reality shows,sport,or current music videos.the beauty of good dth/paytvs is that you can actually watch all of these stuffs 24hrs with a small antenna if you can pay the subscription & thats the 'only' REASON i still pay for the family package of d*** to go with my 3m motorised fta setup.but if a provider can't exhibit its seriousness during a 1year trial transmission&still wants to encrypt,then you can't expect people to just keep mute simply because they had been on 'forced fta'for sometime.i'm not that petty if thats what is your P. I have been in the tv industry for too long to have such a low mindset. Its time to break away from the shackles of rubbish services,free or not.

your comment shows how highly inept you are at reading between the lines.if you don't know,paytv is a very serious business,so serious that the provider could be sued for poor services.(probably not here in nigeria).what we are saying here is that you MUST first of all show your subscribers how serious ,the content you want them to pay for,is.for the past 1year or so,infinity has failed in that regard. Tell you what? Most people would gladly migrate from D*** if another provider comes up with something equal or better than what those extortionists currently offer.trendtv,daarsat,hitv &now infinity have failed those who can't afford the luxury of large space for big dishes&still want to watch quality entertainment for reasonable fees. Nobody is saying they shouldn't encrypt,but they should do so ONLY when they have the balls to remain in the game. Thats all we are saying.

i was @ infinity's omole's office just before they scrambled to find out about their card &their package.&to my shock,one of their representatives told me their is currently a scarcity of the card&that the distribution of the card to all its major dealer within lagos&environs is underway.so the question really is- why roll tapes of advert claiming the card is in circulation when almost all their dealers within ikeja axis can't boast of enough stock of decoder+car? Why toy with signal encrypting when all your package is full of repitition,poor picture quality &lack of solid content? why is this company' activities so often shrewded in secrecy? No concrete address,no real affiliation with the NBC? too many questions unanswered. That's what this infinity drana is all about. This isn't a personal attack on them,but as a tv broadcast expert myself,i just can't understand what they are up to.
on a lighter note,i'm happy to be here even if i had done so because of INFINITY TV.
