I live in Nigeria, Oga... We are talking about visiting Visa not schooling... amnotapervert: You still don't understand the context and context matters. I believe you are in Germany.
$10,000 CAD may be more than enough to cover tuition deposits, flights, and initial expenses, but IRCC knows you live in Germany, not Nigeria. They can see that your circumstances are different and that you may earn $10,000 CAD in a couple of months. You are not the average Nigerian applicant applying from Nigeria.
How do I even explain this further?
You are comparing completely different situations. Someone living and working in Germany has a different financial profile, earning potential, and access to funds than the average Nigerian living in Nigeria.
It's the same reason many Canadians don't keep large amounts of money sitting in a savings account.
Well me I do not I have they saved in investment accounts, TFSA etc
They have access to credit facilities, lines of credit, investments, and other financial tools that people in Nigeria.
You can't use your situation as the benchmark for everyone else because the circumstances are completely different |

How much is flight to Toronto, hotel for 2 weeks... POF of 10k is more than enough, Oga. So far the money has good origin and you have reasonable ties back to Nigeria, IRCC will grant the visa... I didn't even spend 4k for my last trip in March... An average person in CA doesn't have 10k sitting freely in an account... How much do you think your Nigerians over there use as POF to invite their parents? amnotapervert: At this point, you believe 10 million naira is enough for someone living in Nigeria I am telling you it's not, but that's fine.
I had already typed a long reply with links and explanations showing why, but then I thought, Hahaha, everyone has the right to believe whatever they want.
It's Sunday, and free will was preached in church today. You have the free will to believe whatever you choose... I am just here to make commect I do not know what I am talking about |

10k not being enough for visiting visa for a Nigerian living anywhere in this world is NOT TRUE.. amnotapervert: People from Germany do not need a visa to visit Canada...
Nigerian has a higer rejection rate than others countriest that will use 3000k EUR... I wanted to pull out numbers links or anything but what good will that do
And yes, with a Nigerian passport, CAD $10,000 is generally not enough as proof of funds for a Canadian visa application, even if there is consistent inflow and outflow in the account...
Anyways at this point everthing is possible |

10m is about 10k cad, haba... Why won't he get a visa if there is a constant inflow and outflow... Ppl in Germany and other countries get Canadian visa with 3000k EUR oga... amnotapervert: I have done a breakdown of this before countless times on the Nairaland visitor visa page, but people said I was a mad man because of my breakdown and the links I provided.
My position still stands: if you have only 10 million naira in your savings account in 2026 with a nigerian passport, it is not enough to comfortably support a visitor visa application to Canada. Yes, people will tell you what you want to believe thats it is enough, but being direct and not sugarcoating things is usually where people get offended by me.
Anyway, anyone can do whatever they wish. I am just a mad man behind a keyboard who am I to tell you what to believe or not believe?

Bank loan for schooling? You need to trend carefully on that. Then to get a loan in Canada, you need a credit score for which you won't have that when you arrive in Canada. machine606: Greetings, I would love to inquire from all here, especially those who had been able to secure education loan from "unpopular financial institutions". Got a conditional offer recently from Thompson Rivers University (MBA) , and just found out the institution isn't on the list of popular student loan financers, such as MPower and progidy, despite lower tuition fees.
Using another offer but not Canadian, MPower was will to offer x3 of the amount of TRU. I kind of find this intriguing. Now, I am inquiring for legit loan financers that might be unpopular or less known, or better still Canadian banks that offer even cosigner loans. I would appreciate response especially from TRU applicants or students, or students who had successfully navigated this challenge previously. Shalom and thanks in advance |

There is multinational and there is multinational, if the multinational doesn't affect your reserves money wise then visa applications will be hard. If you work in a multinational that long, you have money, good home ties and can show why you will come back then you will get it. Mavor: And if the person has been working professionally with global multinationals for the past 18 years since graduation? |

10m is not enough for schooling obviously but it is enough for visiting... Although I get what you meant, it could easily pass wrong message to another reader who only wants to visit and has 10m amnotapervert: One thing you should understand is that schooling abroad is not cheap
10 million naira is not enough money for study in Canada even vistors visa don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
You need a minimum of about 45 million naira, which is roughly CAD $45,000. Let's assume you're attending a relatively affordable school such as Memorial University. Tuition for a two-year program could cost around 20 million naira, give or take. On top of that, living expenses are currently estimated at about CAD $22,895. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html
So, in summary, you need at least CAD $45,000 to realistically cover your studies and living costs that's even when you are going to a cheap school
10 million naira is simply not enough. Maybe in 2011, 10 million naira was sufficient for Canada as that 10 million naira in 2011 was about $63,000 CAD, but in 2026, it won't get you very far. |

Just like yesterday... dsureguy: I currently have a Canadian visitor visa valid until 2034. My wife’s visa will expire this year, one of my sons has a visa that expires in 2029, and my other child does not have a Canadian visa yet.
At the moment, I have about CAD 70,000 available. I also have about CAD 30,000 equivalent in a retirement account in Nigeria. My current monthly income is about €3,000, and I recently secured a new contract that should increase my income by about €1,000 per month after tax.
Coincidentally, I received an admission for a Master’s program this week, and I am currently in Canada (only me) on a visit, but I will be leaving in three weeks. Based on the advice I have been receiving, I am considering placing CAD 30,000 into a GIC from the CAD 70,000 I currently have. This should be easy for me to do since I already have funds in Canada.
I have also paid the school deposit today. Whenever I visit Canada, I usually leave the same day I declare at the port of entry (POE).
Do you have any advice on whether this approach makes sense (I and family reside in Nigeria at the moment) or if there are other things I should consider? |

I'm not japaing, I'm will be in Nigeria for the longest... Just going for schooling, i will try setup things there(by God's grace e go gel) and I will come back. I was still in CA recently and it doesn't freak me. If not for insecurity in Nigeria, a better schooling there, more exposure and networking, na here I prefer... I prefer to have systems there and make money there and be here. I have been doing that since 2022 and I think it's the best. Predator188: Highly Competitive province for PR |

Not true.. I have used such things before now. Even use if for US visa and it worked... If they have a foreign license with US, UK, CA or within Europe, use it... It they have license then yes Mavor: Thank you. Are you familiar with all finance solutions like Raenest (formely Geegpay) that remote workers use to receive USD or EUR salary and also offer virtual USD card services for online payments?
If for example, I have my savings in USD on such platforms, are their bank statements acceptable for POF? |
