No sd card slot for mtk. You can go for 3/32GB, that's enough for me.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 have two versions, 2/16GB and 3/32GB

For Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, you can use dual sim or one sim with sd card.
Thanks. Seems like the mtk version still uses android 5.0

this isnt meant for me but i‘ll answer anyway.
1: The sim 2 slot also doubles as the micro sd slot
2: The mtk version is different from this.. It has the 16gb/2gb and 32gb/3gb variant while the SD version also has the 16gb/2gb and 32gb/3gb variant
Thanks. Seems like the mtk version still uses android 5.0

Go for mtk version instead. You can't tweak snapdragon imei for now.
Please I have some questions.
1: Does this phone have space for Micro SD? Or you use sim 2 slot
2: Is the mtk version the 16gb one?

Advice to all those intending to flash custom ROM. Do not upgrade to lollipop! I repeat if you want to flash custom ROM, do not upgrade to lollipop. I flashed and got my phone bricked. Although I've restored it. Presently all the custom ROMs available are kk based and flashing it on top of lollipop with give you touch sensitivity issues. Although reviews from XDA and 4PDA.ru States that CM 12.1 is the most stable and bug less ROM available for the device till date just don't upgrade to lollipop if you want to flash it.

I have ordered one last week Friday still waiting for the delivery in Jos, hoping to update it to lollipop as soon as it arrives but I see someone here complaining.
If you have next feelings, you might just stick to kitkat or flash custom lollipop. I'm planning to flash CM12.1 or MIUI soon that is after I roll back to KK because those roms are KK based so I'll update you

Yes, upgrade is definitely possible with/without root.

The thing is that those with root privilege who upgrade to Lollipop will encounter so many bugs.
I didn't know that

Op I just bought same phone , I went for the phone due to it's 4000mah battery, was loving it at first with it's preinstalled KitKat but immediately I upgraded to lollipop it lost it's sweetness, it hangs like mad, the worst is I can't see the numbers I am inputting in the ussd prompts ,and I make a lot of use of ussd. I don't know if it's just my own or general a5000 problem. Is ur ussd inputs showing @ op? or how are you getting across the problem.
did you upgrade via ota? If no, then try and upgrade to the latest firmware (i.e S124_151118_8G_ROW)

I don't think upgrade would have been possible with root

Here are my questions, bro, since you have upgraded to the latest update (Lollipop).

1. Have you noticed any bug/problem so far?

2. How's the battery life with Lollipop OS?

3. Is OTG working with the device?

Thanks as I anticipate your answers.
Answers
1: No bug yet.
2: Battery life on lollipop is decent because I've been using it since morning on 3G all through ; streaming, downloading etc and I'm left with 20% right now
3: OTG, not tested yet but you'll get a reply soon
