Politics › Re: How Long Can Buhari Hold For The North.? by DunceNLMods: 12:45am On Jun 14, 2017 |
mekaboy: It's obvious president Buhari is old and suffering from a sickness combined with old age. The cells and tissues are weak and treating such are abit difficult. It's like driving a car made in 1639 today. They parts are hardly available. That's why buhari works for 1 month and taken back for repairs for another 4months.
Now, Buhari needs resign and rest from politic. However he has to hold on to power because Osibanjo is not a Northern Muslim, else be would have gladly resigned. At least it now on record that he became a civilian president.
The question now is, how long will he hold on for the North?
How long will Nigeria be in a state of confusion as to who the president is.?
Will we continue with this one month in Nigeria 4 months in UK till 2019? I just dey look. How corpse wan come back. The question is when Nigerians start agitating for the useless FG to tell the truth. |

Politics › When Will Nigerians Start Demanding The FG Tell The Truth About Buhari's Health? by DunceNLMods(op): 12:26am On Jun 14, 2017 |
These beasts in power have started again as with Yaradua. They just changed style. Instead of lying they keep quiet. Medical trips upon trips and Buhari came back home around April looking like a walking stick. Over a month he has been gone no word. No video at all. This happened with Yaradua.
A month is too long abeg. It is time for Nigerians in the South and Middle Belt to demand the truth be told so Buhari resigns. If he dies or is dead his Northern brothers killed him by forcing him in power knowing he was sick.
DEMAND THE FG SAY THE TRUTH ON BUHARI'S HEALTH. |

woodcook: In fact reading this story makes me boil inside. We Nigerians most times take things for granted. How can a bank staff lift a customer number ( that is very unprofessional and can lead to termination), went ahead to call the customer on same number to arrange for personal transaction.
@op this is so wrong at many levels seriously. These are the type of bank staff that connive with armed robbers to rob customers. If I were you his boss will hear about it.
What are they teaching these guys in training school/during induction? Where on earth does shit like this happen if not in Nigeria?
To answer your question, he does not. But if I may ask are you sure that your transaction has been executed? Because the way the guy sounded and behaved, if he is the one responsible he may not have executed your transaction maybe in the hope of convincing you. If you can confirm that your transaction has been executed then he can't. Desperate times call for desperate measures. |

9jakohai: This is off topic, but I feel strongly I must raise this.
Over the last few months, I have noticed that the level of tribal e-war bashing on Nairaland, especially on the Politics and Crime threads has risen to a point that it has become bothersome. I think that the tenor of the threads has become a nest of hate, bitterness, and anger.
Even our Nairaland monikers have become an expression of hateful sentiments.
I would like to appeal to my fellow Nairalanders to please be more civil to one another. Posting hate messages does not reflect well on us as members of this forum, and at the same time puts us in a bad light before the rest of the world. We all have grievances....far better we express them in ways that do not anger or hurt others.
I myself will continue to try to be civil in my commenting and responses.
Let us make life easy for Seun and his moderators. Let us tone down the anger, the hate, and the bitterness. It does no one any good...and it certainly does one a lot of harm.
Signed: 9jaKohai....an anime and manga fanatic, a Nigerian, and a lover of peace.
ON TO THE TOPIC.....
Nairalanders that do IT.....better come and open a thread on how to distinguish a fake website from the real one. Much needed...because sometimes it is very difficult.
Me...if I see a payment site without https at the start of the website....it is fake, or unsecure.
Seun and the mods are just as stubborn. Direct your grievances and suggestions to them. MAYBE they will hear. Many people have pitched in over time to no avail. |

demolinka: Restructuring sounds like an ideal solution. The problem is will we have enough patience and selflessness to make it work? What's to say that the areas with the most economic viability in the restructured regions won't lay claim to larger portions of economic proceeds, to the detriment of others? The same "Chop-make-i-chop" political philosophy will still be at play as the same crop of politicians further feast on the 'regional cakes' with reckless abandon.
I really wish restructuring were the answer but, sadly, there's no utopia anywhere. The key in this journey of change is basically reorientation and sacrifice, from leadership and followership. At least, let's help this coming generation not to think like us. Good. And it is for this reason why it has been urged the restructuring be done in phases. Just little concessions like state police etc. But Northerners are stubborn. The state police for example makes a whole lot of sense. NPF is a joke. What is the use of having a state legislature without a state police? Abeg tell me? |

The people here calling Afam4eva hypocrites are hypocrites too. Did Jonathan not call for restructuring?
And who said Jonathan intently left the Yorubas? Not quite.
The problem is Jonathan invested his efforts in the North building almajiri schools, roads and badly-needed universities in the North so they would return the favour in 2015 thinking he had a ready base in the South. They replied by voting Buhari en masse. The Igbos stood by him the Yorubas sided with Buhari granting him victory.
So who lost? Is it not the South as a whole that has clamored for restructuring? Even Tinubu complained about it. Hypocrisy. When the Confab 2014 report was thrown in the dustbin and Northern elites prefferred where was Jagaban. Oya, Lagos RIGHTLY asked for a special status and more funds. Rejected! Okay North East Developmemt bill as South as a whole be mumu u nor fit unite leverage us make ur demands b4 granting theirs, you gave it on a platter of gold.
Just continue fighting yourselves and losing. Me I am watching. |
Politics › Re: Arewa: Understanding The Northern Nigeria Oil Reserves Strategy by DunceNLMods: 10:02am On Jun 09, 2017 |
tsephanyah: Gold: Northern Nigeria: Africa’s largest gold reserves with large scale exploration ongoing. Northern Nigeria has been famous for its gold since the days of the great kanem empire to Dan fudio and the pilgrimage to Mecca of the shehu's in 1324, on his caravan he carried more than 8 tonnes of gold! Northern Nigeria has therefore been traditionally a mining country for over half a millennium. Northern Nigeria currently has seven operating gold mines which include: Zamfara, and most part of north western. mines which have recently restarted but stopped due to illegal mining. I know the Nory has substantial amounts of solid minerals. But your oil claim is false. Unless there is a concerted effort to hid it which makes no sense. The presence of oil will tip the balance of power. It is a trump card that cannot be hidden. |

three: The call by the 16 Northern groups on the heels of alleged involvement of Politicians courting the Army is in my opinion a strategic move to keep the Vice President from assuming office as the President in any event.
It appears some in the North are not willing to gamble with a PYO presidency at the risk of loosing the so called 4 year term. (Yar'adua's)
They flew the coup kite now they are provoking breakdown of Law and order. Pray tell what happens after a breakdown of Law and Order if not the Military being called in to quell widespread rioting. What happens after?
Your guess is as good as mine...
These guys are VERY smart
(PS imo this plan is not a today sometin oh) Meanwhile no police will arrest those youths as long as Kanu is a free man. I am waiting to be shown wrong. But I doubt it. |

Billyonaire: It is almost too late to re-structure, almost too late. If Nigeria does not restructure now, then the death of Oil will be the death of Nigeria as a very poor country.
Igbos are saying Biafra or Restructure. Then a Pan-Yoruba group says Restructure. Only the North is making noise about saying let Igbos Go...Crazy parasite.
The Middle Belt should rise up and join the call for Restructuring.
Buhari whether alive or death started this nonsense with his popular 97% 5% speech. So there is no going back to the call to Restructure.
Imagine how the North even treat Osinbanjo even when we know that Buhari is incapable of leading the country.
For all those who sit on the fence, I hope your kids and grandkids will forgive you all for not taking a stand. The whole South simply has to unite and call the North to order on the matter. They have made it clear: na oil money they like. Abeg keep am. Without that oil there are states like Lagos that can do very well. That said, I am just shaking my head at fools who supported or voted Buhari in. Because obvious if Jonathan was in power I don't see this happening. At most, it would be disgruntled Northern cabals. |

austinosita: There are still good Nigerians. It's the evil ones that make things so bad. When good men sleep, evil rears its head. I'm pessimistic about one Nigeria. Many other pessimistic people have left Nigeria. Sure, there are many examples of solidarity here and there but people are still tribalistic even the youths.
I think it is very unfortunate some Yorubas have not learnt from history. Maybe the relative success they have enjoyed has beclouded them. The major beneficiaries in the civil war were and are still the Northern peoples specifically their theives in power who are still living today. If the South and Middle Belt regions must break the burden of a regressive Northern political class it must be via unity which I do not see.
Meanwhile, please keep hope. It's all we have got. |

We are growing tired being everyone punching bag. The Internet and tribal fights in Nairaland make it seem worse for you guys. There are still Nigerians sympathetic to your cause. That's just fact. And the fact remains as long as Southerners and the Middle Belt region often forgetten do not unite then greedy Northerners will continue to have tgeir way as they do. |

This is not any Igbo concern. This mentality and lack of unity in the South is precisely why Igbos got the short end of the stick after the Biafra war. And why in the long run the South is unabke to acheive the goal of restructuring. |

If you can feel it then it has the material property of texture. And if you can taste it then it has the material property of flavor. How then, does one experience something that has no material properties? By imagining it. |
