What is Potential?
Potential according to English dictionary means currently unrealized ability. It means an ability embedded in someone or something but not yet accessed. Note that your potential sometimes has to do with something you already engage in. You cant be a medical student and say you have the potential of being Judge, NO! Or you should be a banking professional and say you have the potential of being a doctor.

Do I have a potential?
Yes, everyone has potentials. Its just that it differs from one person to another. For example I may have the potential to be a good writer and my friend next house may have a different one. You may have the potential of a good footballer while your neighbour has a different one. We all have potentials but, in diverse ways.

Does Potential really help in life?
Yes, it does. But it depends on how quickly you discover it. Permit me to insert this, according to my experience with Football Manger 2012, whenever i manage a team, i like signing players with a lot of potentials. Preferably between the age of 14-19. But at a stage i discover that those players, when given more playing time, they tend to develop in ability more than players in the age of 25-31. So my point is, when potentials are discovered quickly it goes a long way in helping you.

How can I discover my potential?
You can actually discover your potential through the following:
1) Pray about it
2) Recognizing your current ability i.e Discovering what you are always good at. (something beneficial)
3) Consult your school counsellor
4) Talk to people that are more experienced than you, preferably your parents
5) Do not be lazy. A lazy person cant discover his potential

WHEN YOU FINALLY GAIN YOUR ADMISSION

Though the niche of my blog do not permit me to write on educationmetimes you just have to go against protocol to get some things right. Without wasting much of your time, i will want to draw your attention to somethings using the hashtag #whenyoufinallygainyouradmission.#

The dream of every jambites is to be admitted to a very prestigious university. Though some due to one reason or the other, don't end up in universities. Rather they settle for polytechnics and college of education. But nevertheless, they are all students, they all want to learn. But unfortunately, many after been given admission, they lose focus. Maybe due to one reason or the other. They were not as zealous as they were before . Now join me in looking as some of those things fresher's should not and should do when just gaining admission

1) when you finally gain your admission : Do not be eager to impress. There are some sets of students that before they were admitted, they already have an idea of what an institution is. Such students may have attended a particular Polytechnic or the other which makes them have a pre knowledge of what they would be taught in school. Believe me, pressures attached to learning differs from one institution to another. The beauty of it is that, some of these students, always want make use of the advantage they have over others just to impress, specifically opposite sex which is not suppose to be so.

2) when you finally gain your admission : Ignore any form of immature relationship. When i mean relationship, i don't mean between your friends alone, i mean a boy and girl relationship. Due to the advancement in age, and different opportunities that youths gets nowadays, they venture into unsafe, unprofitable, and immature relationship. Though some may think that they have the mental, physical and emotional ability to cope with such. But as time goes on, venturing into relationship while studying affects their progress, in fact some ladies if i may say end up having unwarranted pregnancy. Now tell me, even if you have the financial ability to take of a baby while studying, do you also have the mental ability to combine both the responsibility of taking care of the baby and facing your studies? Guys also, stay away from ladies that will contribute to your failure. According to God during the time of creation,woman is supposed to be a helper. But when a woman now becomes a liability or a contributor to your downfall, then you definitely need to check yourself.

3) when you finally gain your admission : Try and be yourself, i will want to include these cause majority of students do a lot of copying. They want to do what others are doing, wear what others are wearing, eat what others are eating. Even when they know that they are not physically, mentally, financially, emotionally capable of doing such. Just be yourself! If others are playing and you feel like reading, please do. If others wear latest brands of clothes and accessories such as Versace, Jordan smiths e.t.c and you are only capable of palm sandals, yaba bend down select please wear it. At least you covered your unclothedness. Do not in any way possible try and copy what others do.

4) when you finally gain your admission : Cultivate the habit ofeading. As i was taught in GNS 101, we have different reading skills and studying habits. Some are specialist in mounting notes and hand outs before they sit down and insert it into their brain at once. While some on the other end, are only talented in reading notes and materials immediately they get them. Which ever category you may find yourself, the main purpose is to read an understand, and anything short of that is unacceptable.

5) when you finally gain your admission : Remember the GOD that made it possible, some people only know God when they are seeking for something, Immediately they get their hands on that thing, they forget GOD totally. If you don't know, there is something called Grace, Mercy and Favour. Anyone who these three things work for will succeed where others fail, and he will always stand out among his colleagues.

Firstly, what is Pornography? Pornography also include nudity and immorality in movies such as Titanic, Original sin by angelinna jolie e.t.c. Pornography can also be found at the paperback novels with sensual covers. It includes the stories written to appeal to women's lustful fantasies, it includes all those things that entice people toward unbiblical sexual expression as a normal and suitable lifestyle.

As we all know, we are living in a world full of plague of lust and sensuality and all of us are affected by it. Even the bible spoke clearly about pornagraphy. it said, ' You know my commandment pretty well, too: 'Don't go to bed with another person's spouse'. matthew 5 vs 27-28 says more about it.
Due to researches conducted, behavioural scientists report that there are four stages in the world of pornography.


STAGE 1: TEMPTATION

Pornographic temptation presents itself in many forms. Lustful urges entice you to see the forbidden. They tend to deceive you that you need to satisfy the flesh, experience the excitement, and expolre the intimate. When the brain occupies excessive exposure to sexual immorality, it tends to give way to bad reactions and responses such as rape, nudity, masturbation, homosexualism and other unbiblical actions.

You know been a victim of pornography doesn't mean you can't be free from it. There are many ways of been leaving the bondage of porn.

1) Accept your saviour.
2) Do away from any form of idleness.
3) Decipline yourself
4) Talk to people that are more experienced than you
5) Visit your school counsellor
6) Pray always

Self decipline is one of the most important and useful skills everyone should possess in a relationship. Apart from this, the skill is essential in every area of life and though most people acknowledge its importance, very few do something to strengthen it. Contrary to common believes, self decipline doesnotmean being harsh toward yourself or living a limited, restrictive lifestyle. But, it means self control, which is a sign of inner strength and control of yourself, your actions and reactions.
Self decipline begins with one's thought. If thoughts are not controlled, then it will be too difficult to control actions. As we all know the key qualities of loving relationships are based on love respect.
How do you develop self decipline?

1) Start with baby steps: One can't just emulate the habit of self decipline over-night. You have to train and buil yourself so as to become stronger. It begins by making decisions in the relationship to go forward and afterward, learning what it takes to accomplish decisions. As rational beings, we should not just without thinking.

2) Learn to love and trust your partner: In arelationship, the need for love and acceptance is important. This is because individuals exhibit all kinds of personality and physical problems when they are not loved and cared for. When the need for love is fulfiled, then the relationship is worth the effort.

3) Learn to be tolerant and understanding: Every individual has a unique and special characterisitic, which makes him/her different from others. Individuals have different ideas, tastes, hopes, dreams, expectations e.t.c. No matter how close or compatible a couple may be, there will still be areas of dissagreement, dissactisfaction and discontent. But these are normal and natural occurences which can be endured through self decipline and self control.

4) Make your spouse the best friend you will ever have: A happy and loving relationship requires that you see your partner as your best friend. There should be no one in the world who you would rather spend time with more than him or her. When you see your partner as your best friend and see him/her as such, then you can create a loving relationship that can last all the days of your life.

AN INDEPTH LOOK INTO BUHARI'S ASSET DECLARATION

Like most people, I slept 'jejely' last night only to wake-up with tweets and Facebook alerts that the much awaited public declaration of the President's asset has been done by Presidential spokesman Alhj Garba Shehu. Same document was posted on his Facebook page. Having looked at the document shared by Shehu Garba, I couldn't help but laugh at the pure deceit of the document that even defies logic. Let's analyse every item of the document together.

1. Who Verified Shehu's Document?
"The documents submitted to the CCB, which officials say are still being vetted and will soon be made public..."

Please take a look at the quote, it send a message that the so-called document is yet to be verified. This alone is enough to rubbish the claim of President Muhammadu Buhari and Shehu Garbs. But let's continue...

2. The President's Financial Assets and Shares:
FINANCIAL ASSET
"President Buhari had less than N30 million to his name. He also had only one bank account, with the Union Bank"

For God sake less than N30,000,000 is not a sum. Less than N30,000,000 could be anything from 1kobo to N29.99999Million. They couldn't tell the exact SUM/figure, and also They couldn't provide Nigerians the UNION BANK ACCOUNT number for verification. This is the acceptable norm as outlined in President Yar'adua and VP Jonathan's 2007 Asset Declaration. This has defied common sense.

SHARES:
"President Buhari declared however that he had shares in Berger Paints, Union Bank and Skye Bank."

Here we go again. How many unit shares in both Union Bank and First Bank? How do we know whether he's a major or minor shareholder in these banks? The President and his team should know that Nigerians need specifics and not generic statements.

3. Properties:
HOUSES:
"President Buhari had(has) a total of five homes, and two mud houses in Daura. He had(has) two homes in Kaduna, one each in Kano, Daura and in Abuja. One of the mud houses in Daura was inherited from his late older sister, another from his late father."

The President not only failed to provide address of his 5 houses in Daura (2), Kaduna (1), Kano (1) and Abuja (1), he also failed to tell us the worth of these Houses. What is the president trying to hide for God's sake? How do we acknowledge his worth when details of his assets are shrouded in secrecy?

BORROWED MONEY FROM OLD BACLAYS BANK TO BUILD TWO HOMES
Same old story. Why can't he be specific on which of the homes he built with the old Baclays bank's loan and a back-up transactional details?

UNKNOWN LANDS
"President Buhari also has two undeveloped plots of land, one in Kano and the other in Port Harcourt. He is still trying to trace the location of the Port Harcourt land."

This is a dilemma for me. I mean Buhari declared a landed property in Port Harcourt but don't know the location? Is it that there was no document detailing the transaction or he got this as a 'gift' from Amaechi? Can we please be provided with details of the land in Kano?


4. The President's Cars:
SOME BOUGHT, SOME GIVEN
"The retired General uses a number of cars, two of which he bought from his savings and the others supplied to him by the federal government in his capacity as former Head of State."

Can the President be specific on the type of cars and the number of Cars that he has? How many were bought and how many were given to him by the Nigeria government? a number of cars can be 2 to infinity. Why can't the President be specific? Can we know the worth of these cars?

SOME FROM DONORS?
"The rest(CARS) were donated to him by well-wishers after his jeep was damaged in a Boko Haram bomb attack on his convoy in July 2014."

How many were "donated" and who were these donors? Can we know the type and worth of these donated cars? Why is the president trying to play smart on our collective intelligence?

5. The Old Source:
“As soon as the CCB is through with the process, the documents will be released to the Nigerian public and
people can see for themselves,” the source said.

This quote from Shehu clearly shows that he (Shehu) also got it from a "source" and not from his boss. It clearly shows that the document is neither official; as it didn't emanate from Buhari himself nor a verified CCB. This is clearly a loophole for future denial by the President and his APC crew.

THIS DOCUMENT HAS FAILED THE TEST OF LOGIC! Nigerians ARE NOT FOOLS!
