They are unserious. With all the security challenges we have, this is what they have chosen to occupy themselves with, With what offence will they charge them? Last time I checked, being an LGBTQ is not a crime in Nigeria.

It is the start of a new year and most Christians do practice the act of fresh fruits whereby your first salary in the year or fresh profit of business, first money of your new marriage etc is given to the church.
In this harsh agbado economy in Nigeria,is it possible to practice the act of giving first fruits.
First fruit is not biblical but a personal decision bourne mainly out of ignorance by those you practice it.

@ missjekyll, what's Labours plans on war spending? Will they spend millions protecting the red sea rather than give that to the less well-off or the NHS?

I haven’t been feeling fine cos of malaria and typhoid since on Wednesday so I took Thursday and today off from work. Being sick and a bachelor, I’ve been craving things especially goat meat pepper soup but I have no one to prepare it for me amidst my sickness. So, I had to take the bull by the horn.

I wrote down a list and went to the market to buy things for goat meat pepper soup. Before leaving the house, I realized my female neighbor was at home, so I thought it was a good time to reciprocate her generosity so, I went to the market having her in mind.

Im done cooking now so i want to surprise her with my delicacy. I have dished her own share and im taking it to her now. Im thinking of adding malt too. Well, I hope she likes it.

I am 100% for real. This is from 2017 so hasn't even factored in the dogs dinner since the economy.

I m happy that you are keeping up to date with labour policy. Yes the rich will be taxed till the pips squeak. I shouldn't pay more tax than roshis wife.

As to immigration, labour ll do the common sense thing they have been doing to tackle immigration : set up a processing centre in France,
fund the courts so asylum seekers hearings can proceed faster,
fund more training for people already in the country in order to tackle the current severe skills shortage. Check immigration rates in 2010

I m excited to finally get a tory in debate. I went doorknocking in May. No-one admitted to being a tory. Too ashamed so I m happy that seems to be over. You are welcome to the thread ,Mx Tory.

Brokendad:
I got into a relationship with a 22 year old girl who's turning 23 by January.

Along the line, she got pregnant. We kept the pregnancy away from her people until after four months.

First of all, she is a woman and not a girl. As an adult, who from your narrative is not dependent on her mother for financial support, I cannot place the blame on the mother. She can think for herself and also refuse to go to the hospital with her mother but as you later posted, she does not want to keep the child. If this will affect your replationship in the future, I suggest you move on and let her be.

Please tell ur brother to send the money into your mother's account, and use remark of trip expenses or something of that nature

Also let ur brother upload like 3 month pay slips and evidences of his work place

Reason i am saying this is because if the money is in ur brother acc and not ur mum acc ur mum maybe denied because visa officer might say there might be a possibility that if the mama comes to uk the guy wont release the money to her as she is not in full custody of the money and she is at the mercy of the son so its better the mama is in full custody of the money

The same happen to my sis
She used her company acc to apply she even uploaded every document to show she owns the company

She was denied because they said company money is not the same as personal money that why dint she move the money to her personal acc

That what if the board of director did not allow her spend from the company acc after she has enter uk

Can u imagine, for her own company one man company o, sole proprietary company

This may not be the best way. The sponsor should show evidence of the funds for the trip and include it in the application.
On your friend's story, the company account does not belong to them so they failed to show that they had funds available to pay for the trip. Else how will UKBA determine how much in the company account is staff salary, taxes, other liabilities and profit? The fact that the company has money in the bank does not mean the comapny is liquid. In my opinion, they took the right decision in denying that application.

Show me where I advised the OP not go to court and claim millions or not to call the police on her or not to fight her and her kids or not to abuse her or not to break her doors too!

Don't be silly young man! Laws are not meant to be abused!!! It's such stupid mentality that brings about the abuse we are suffering in Nigeria.

Looks like you quoted the wrong person. I never said you asked him not to go to court.

In the future, you can always cover things like rent with overdraft, and in severe occasions, loans. Try not to be in a sour relationship with your LLs, it's too stressful and a waste of energy and resources. Personally, I don't have time for all these shenanigans... going to court and paying £308 for a case you may not win and still pay the rent , calling the police and going over to their station, exchanging words with your LL and family etc.

Even if he owed the LL 1 year rent, she has absolutely no right to do what she did. This guy has a very good chance of flooring her in the court. The LL should have gone to court if she was that concerned.

toughest007:

Did you bother to speculate what could have happened if the OP immediately paid like he said he would? This could have happened... OP pays his rent and apologizes for it coming late, LL installs his door and also apologize for all inconveniences. OP continues to live and pay rent and life goes on, and at the end of his tenancy, he can then make a case for his deposit.

Just like that? shocked Who's going to pay for the days and nights without a door? Who's going to pay for the invasion of privacy? Who's going to pay for the cold suffered by the guy?
Please let's drop this kind of mentality. It is one of the greatest contributors to the mess Nigeria is in today. There re laws for a reason.

Good evening my good people. I got a Penalty charge notice for wrong parking, but there was a mistake with the registration number, was 22 instead of 62. I tried paying or initiate an appeal on the council site, but it's not going through. When I try with the correct registration number it comes up with "the combination of notice number, VRM you have enter cannot be found, please try again". When I enter the one on the PCN, it says" there is currently nothing outstanding on this notice".
Don't knw how to progress from here, and I learnt its not good to just ignore PCN. Tried calling council, they said the only options for PCN is to either pay or appeal, that they don't offer any guidance on that, but I can't do any of those two.
If it was not your number, then it wasn't your car grin. Simply screenshot where you tried making payment and keep as evidence.

I have the Maeco 12litre low energy dehumidifier (the low platinum range ones) I got last year. To be honest, it’s my best investment last year. The funny thing is you will be surprised at how humid your house is even when you are not seeing any sign or mold.

The magic part is the air purifier that helps our young man sleep smoothly when he has flu. Till date, it’s the best money I spent in the UK.

I always forget to share the good news about the product. Thanks for sharing.

"Fall out of love" especially when external financial influence comes to play lol. There are many good women out there, excellent ladies... But the wicked ones are exceptionally heartless, they can change or sway at a moment's notice!
I wouldn't use the word "wicked" as anything could be responsible. For example, is the spouse financially incapable of taking care of her?, Do they have underlining issues that have been made worse by this new development?, were they in a forced union?, was it a marriage of convinience as suggested by others here? and many more questions. These things happen here a lot. I know an someone who wanted to leave her husband just because a guy told her she's beautiful. Same person had an affair with another guy she got close to at work.

This your matter don get complications........

Did you seek LL permission, before you sublet .......

Did you sign any tenancy agreement........

Your starting point, head to your nearest police station and make a complaint..........
The fact that the LL increased rent becuase of the room mate means she accepted it even if he did not inform her at first. It looks like it's a shared apartment and the LL resides there too in which case there's no way she will not be aware.

Please what's that agency that I can report my landlord to please..
My landlord just came to my house and remove my room door because am owning her rent which I told her she will receive within 3 days time. Now my room does not have any door and it wild open.
Rent was due on 15th & on same date she came in & change the outside door key that give access to our flat thus locking me out of the house and just today 17th she came again to remove my room door..

Please I want to know if there is any way I can sue her or claim damages before this woman is very wicked and does anything she wants, thinking that there's nothing I can do because am new to UK.
I have been in this house for over a year and I pay all my rent in full & on time but this one I ask her to give me sometime which was because my new roommate have not been paid yet from he's work & I don't have full money to pay for the new house rent as the rent was increased because we are two.

PLEASE HOUSE I NEED YOUR HELP.
SHES STILL HOLDING MY INITIAL £700 DEPOSIT
Your landlord is wrong to have done that. Make sure you document this. Take vidoes and pictures of what she has done.
She agreed for you to have a room mate by increasing the price so no issue there. Did you rent the house via an agency? If so, contact them and make a formal complaint (use email). Also, make sure your £700 deposit was depositted with the deposit scheme. If not, na she go pay you. Let's wait for oga Lexusgs430

Did you? May i ask why?

Before you answer, look at your gross salary, then look at your tax. Its a huge chunk, isnt it. Now imagine Bonzo taking that tax from you and immediately handing it to his mates.

Did you know anyone who died during covid? What if I told you they would more likely than not, still be alive today if not for Bonzo? He refused to attend COBRA meetings. He also bought fake PPE with a huge markup which remain unused till today.

Pray tell what do you like about this man?
I still wonder why people think Bozo is competent. I thought he was very incompetent even before he became PM and he did not disappoint after he became the PM. I have concluded that if you know how to talk and waffle, people may mistake that for competence. But what do I know?

Lexus i see plenty ppl who have been here over 2 years and they still use nigerian dl, they just renew it from nigeria and send it over, and they still pay insurance, i wonder how they always scale through, or could it be because they have not actually had any police confrontation on the road that is why they have not been dealt with, cus i specifically know two ppl who have been here over 2 years and doing dorm care with their car with naija dl and nothing has happened.

Infact one even has uk dl, but he is still using naija dl because the naija dl makes his insurance cheaper so he claims, cus he said the the naija dl makes him look like he has been driving for long and the uk dl makes him look like a fresh driver and because of that he sticks to the naija dl for insurance
Those people are only "dashing" the insurance company money. They are not insured since the insurance company will not payout due to false/inaccurate information. They should hope not to have an accident.

These people are just looking for an excuse to sell their fuel expensive when their refineries kicks off.
Kaduna refinery was configured to refine heavy crude like the Venezuealan crude.

I agree with your post above.
I am a Christian. And yes, I do pay 1/10th of my earnings as tithe. It is my way of helping the kingdom of God. It is my religious belief. You you may not agree with it hook-line-and-sinker, but it is what I have chosen to do. Because I love God.

But that someone will come and start pitying me, or even pitying my children is to say the least, nonsense. It’s my money. I did not steal it. I earned it. I decide what I want to do with it. How it is someone’s headache is what I don’t understand. And mind you, I’ve never ever asked this someone for shishi. I have never begged. I have never gone to food bank. I have never paid credit card interest. So why is it a problem to someone?

What happened to respect for others, including their religious beliefs?
I do not see my leaving Nigeria to the UK as an ‘escape’ . Why is someone crying more than the bereaved?

Shuooooo

Let’s have some sanity on this thread please.
Now that's the spirit. Our religious leaders should be honest with people and say it like you have said it instead of blackmailing people by saying they are robbing God or that their wealth will be devoured by the enemy. Tithing was introdcued in the church to help with things like paying salaries but it should have just been called offerring. When I stopped paying tithe, I noticed that my giving increased beynd my tithe and offering.

It is not surprising that a mod is flagrantly violating one of the rules (1) of this platform. You exemplify Nigeria lawmakers who are at the same time law breakers. I'm certain you would hide this post if it was done by someone else and probably ban them too.
That said, saying tithing, a practice held in high esteem by Christians, is a scam online is highly insulting. In fact, this is cyber bullying and I'm not sure if this is what this platform is turning into.
It may be insulting but what if it's the truth?
A lot of people that preach it do it either out of ignorance or to scam people. That's why you hardly hear them teach the unfavourable passages about tithing. They also do not tell you that if you obey the law of tithing, you must obey all the other laws or you are cursed (No be me talk am, na bible).
People should study the bible and find out the following:
What is tithe?
Who should pay it?
Who should it be paid to?
How should it be paid?
When should it be paid?
If you start with these questions and sincerely answer them, people will be better informed.
Another potential scam that is creeping into chritianity is "first fruit". I once led a bible study where this was the topic and I could not teach it because the references given in the manual did not in anyway support it and they "twisted" it to fit the narrative. Years later, I attended an oyinbo church and the preacher tocuhed on first fruit and how it was done and my eyes opened. I asked him after the service about paying first fruit and his question to me was "Is it an African thing?" I was the second African to ask him about that. Since then I have not paid it.

If you neglect your child, maltreat them or put them in danger then yes they will take them away. Search for NIUK on twitter and listen to horror stories of Nigerians and other Africans who have had their children taken. The stories are terrifying such that I shudder at the thought of my child being taken away. There was someone who had their children taken the first week or so after they arrived the UK.
If you love your kid, please take her home until you sort yourself out.
