Thank you, I thought about this
In fact that is my plan
I’m only worried about not getting a good reference.
I remember reading somewhere that it is illegal for them to give a bad reference. I think they just need to confirm your employment with them.

Thank you for your suggestions and advice. @Contra5, I have since emailed the vice chancellor regarding my situation.

Before coming to this forum to ask for suggestions and contributions, please don't always think people have not done their best and look for every available option.

My school is Edinburgh Napier University, and yes, students can retake a module twice within a three-month grace period.

I will like to let everyone know that I am not the only person having this issue; in fact, I have three other Nigerian coursemates with the same issue.

Two of them have since abandoned school and moved to England on COS when the issue could not be resolved last trimester. My course is a 16-month course.

My school is notorious for locking your school app if you fail your school fee repayment plan; even if you miss just one month, your school app will be locked Until they receive your payment.

I'm sure there are a lot of Napier students here on Nairaland that can testify to that.

So imagine a scenario where your payment was delayed by Form A for 3 months before the school received your payments, and within these 3 months you were given the option for resit/re-assesment for a failed module.

The school finance team is very much aware of the situation of Form A in Nigeria; they just don't care. In fact, you get reported to the UKVI in the second month of your failed repayment plan.

A lot of Nigerian students here in the UK are going through a lot: some accommodation challenges, some financial challenges ( not getting a job), and some academic challenges.

Many people, including myself, had no idea what challenges awaited us until we arrived.

We need to do a lot to support each other, particularly in this forum, when it comes to contributions, advice, and suggestions. Everything should not be all about IPTV and the Amex card of your popular dokita @Lexusgs430.

Yes, I made mention of @Lexusgs430 because he has been in this country for over 20 years, he has seen it all, and he needs to do a lot more.

Thank you for your time.

Peace.

Please calm down. @Lexusgs430 has contributed a lot just like others here. The topics here are not exhaustive.
We all know that Nigeria is facing FX issues and there are delays in processing requests so that should have been a risk factor considered by intending students who plan to use the service.
I can't remember seeing you here asking for advise when you got the resit notice, perhaps someone would have helped but I believe there's also other threads that is more tailored specifically to students.
Try your best to resolve the issue with the school and hopefully you get to resit the course(s).

I wish you the best.

Please I will appreciate any advice on this 🙏🏽
I want to know whether to dispute the notice period or just accept it. Bearing in mind that I won’t be able to switch jobs within that 5 years with that long notice period

That notice period is too long but I understand why they did that. If you find another job, you can make them dismiss you. That way you don't have to wait for 6 months. grin

This is incorrect. You pay £536 to get a sponsorship license(small companies) and you can sponsor up to 10 people with it. Bigger companies pay higher but it's still not up to £1500 pounds for the license.
The government still charges the employer a fee for employing you on a Tier 2 visa. I think Theresa May introduced it and it's about £1k a year.

Hey guys, how were you able to secure car finance with less than 3 years address in the UK. All the lenders I've seen are asking for 3 years UK address history.
Try putting your addresses in the last 3 years and see. It may not be only UK addresses that are acceptable.

Yes you can if it's BTL

If it's for residential purposes, not sure but I doubt. It is expected that your HTB home is your only residential property. Plus Ltd are typically available for 'Special Purpose Vehicles' so might be difficult to get.

Thank you. It will not be residential. Please can you explain what you mean by Limited are only for special purpose vehicles?

What led to the delay is IOM results, IOM delayed the TB test certificate for more than 10 weeks before they release it and school was aware of all this delay. The same week the IOM TB certificate was released is the week I applied for the Visa. My issue is priority is usually 5 working days to get the decision and also return the passport back to TLS, so why was the passport delayed even till now it has not been return back to me. Can I sue UKVI for this?
You should be able to get your priority fees refunded. I am not sure you have a legal resort in this case but if you decide to sue, that will be a reasonable step. Check online to see if there is past precedence.

Those social workers are evil, they gave 2 kids recording devices to monitor the kids' conversation with their parents and instructed the kids not to inform their parents about the devices. The whole thing started when the kids said in school that one was beaten and the other one was asked to face the wall. The parents were invited and questioned, but refuted the allegations. Days later, the kids were given recording devices with chargers.
This is serious. How did the parents find out?
Did they confisticate the devices?
Sometimes as parents we need to know our rights and stand up to some of these people in an informed and non aggressive manner. Otherwise they will use uou as an example.

My bro,i didn't know stand and face the wall is classed as abuse o shocked . Howwww?? How is it different from naughty corner?
Ear twist na problem for Scotland, I know .
Preference is talk but once in a while, the ear beckons for reset. God abeg o.
I only learned recently that asking them to go to the naughty corner is corporal punishment.
@Ralphlauren
Why will not having food in the fridge be a red flag? What about those families having a rough time? Never gave my kids snacks to school in their early years.

Also, last time I checked, spanking of bum was still legal in England but they were contemplating changing the law. Not sure if that has been done but Scotland totally prohibits it.

I think schools in deprived areas tend to report these sort of issues more than other schools.

quick check:
It is unlawful for a parent to smack their child in England except where this may amount to 'reasonable punishment'.

Yes Jesus was referred to bright and morning star, that does not change the fact that the name Lucifer is ascribed to Satan and Isaiah14 and Ezekiel both talks about Satan and not Jesus.
Show me where Ezekiel and Isaiah talks about Satan. The fact that those passages have been misinterpreted over the years does not make it right.

Story.

Go and read your bible well,Isaiah 14:12 is referring to Satan also know as Lucifer, isaiah 14:12 confirms Eziekel 28:1-end.
So why did peter refer to Christ as Lucifer?

Lucifer is out there looking for any available instrument to use and destroy.

Once you give the devil a small chance, He takes over fully and confuses and destroys your Destiny.

Life outside JESUS CHRIST is unlimited confusion, crisis and disaster.

It is a Dangerous thing to live life in isolation of GOD.
Do you know the Bible refers to Christ as Lucifer?
Lucifer is Latin word meaning "Light bringer" or "Day star". 1 Peter 1: 19 (Latin Vulgate) refers to Christ as Lucifer. Unforthantely we have mistranslated and mis interpreted it to mean the devil. The Bible never referred to the devil as Lucifer. Isaiah 14: 12 was referring the king of Babylon.

That's very correct.
The one I used was Business Analysis School, owned by a Canadian-based Nigerian lady. After paying over N200k they just assigned us an uninspiring teacher who was just taking us through a boring class. She would just present a slide and start reading to us. They expected us to complete the whole online teaching within 2 or 3 sessions (I can't remember now because I quit after 2 classes). It was so boring and cumbersome, like sitting from morning to evening just listening to some boring presentation. I have taken several courses on Coursera and I know how interactive they can be. That was what I was expecting, but ended up disappointed.

Ah! Eno, and to think I considered taking her training. I think I listened to one of the intro sessions and decided against it. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes these first hand reviews are vital in helping us to make the right choice.

This sounds interesting.
Please, have you taken any courses from them, or do you know anyone who has? I'm considering their BA or DA course but would like to hear from someone with firsthand experience. I once paid for a BA course that turned out to be crappy , as far as I'm concerned, and just trying to avoid making the same mistake again. I've checked them on Trust Pilot but they don't have any reviews. Thanks

Please share the one you used.
I have attended info sessions with high impact and I think they are legit. I personally rate some of these Nigerian trainings higher than some in the UK because they tend to focus on getting the job especially with the rise of remote working. I may go for a BA with them in the next cohort if I don't get the position I desire.
