Then go and meet the agencies that offer au pairs. Why come here to post on nairaland or twitter?

Let's see which agency that will give you au pair from nigeria or any european country for £400 a month to take care of 2 kids. Even those importing women from Philippines and Thailand to do nanny work in Nigeria don't earn such low wages.

You want live in nanny, househelp, cook, laundry woman and cleaner for £400 a month with no fixed hours and no days off. Ashiere grin

You don't mean it. With the high unemployment rate in Nigeria we still bring in foreigners to baby sit?

If you ever heard of the Au pair program, you will understand better that this isnt exploitation. Its Ok to say what you want to say based on your level of knowledge grin

i am open to listening to constructive feedback if you can justify with a superior analysis vs what i have done.
Note; This advert is not for folks with masters or bachelor’s degree who can find a better paying job for themselves.
I understand where you are coming from since you are providing accommodation and feeding.
But will the person be able to cook and eat what they like and as much as they like - as they would if they are paying for thier own food?
Will they be able to use the accommodation as they would do in a shared accommodation?
Is there a guarantee that once the shift is over, the person is not obliged to lift a finger to help or assist you?
Will you pay their pension and NI?
How many days holiday are they entitled to?
Any sick pay?

My opinion: It is a very risky venture. If you find the wrong person, they can make false allegations against you to get a payout and the law will likely side with them because I suspect you will not tick all the legal boxes required to properly execute this. It may be better to get a family member over to help.

Jinxed how cheesy cheesy cheesy ...just be careful though cos the clamp down on Crypto transactions started a year or two ago

I am not that bothered if they close my account or not. I used to send to my TSB until they blocked binance. They didn't close my account though.

Yeah that would have been easy, but I don’t know much about tax n the tax system in the UK, I don’t even know the transactions one is even suppose to declare to HMRC, so I am just playing safe, my office pay me salary n sort the tax stuff, while I trade with my Nigerians that we know how to sort ourself. Government of top countries (US n it’s like) for some reason have been eyeing cryptocurrencies n crypto investment. I don’t know what their plans are.

Imagine one day you are contacted by HMRC that you owe £100,000 on tax for your crypto transactions in the last 5yrs. Where i won start from? Money wey I don give school for fee and pay landlord from.
The tax situation is why I try to avoid using it but I still end up using it. If they have your KYC and can trace transactions on the spot account to your, there's nothing that stops them from tracing p2p transactions on the platform to you.

You risk your UK bank shutting you down because of the cryptocurrency connection.

They may but I have been lucky for the past 3 years or so now without any issue. You may have jinxed it now. undecided

I checked. I'll loose over £2000
I doubt you will "loose" that much. The rate usually isn't alway far off from the p2p if you are converting large sums (Large enough for you to lose 2k). You can also set sell limit for a higher price and hope it fills..

While I sold to people I did the normal checks on, I still wasn’t comfortable cos I didn’t know anyone personally. At this time I had transacted far over £10k in a short time and I became very scared.

Why all this long story, I am just trying to tell you not do it. If one commits crime and goes to jail, that will be fair, being under investigation for something you know nothing about is crazy.

My advice will be for you to sell your USDT to naira, then buy pounds from someone here using simple rules.

1. The details you use in sending naira to the persons Nigerian account is the same as the one sending pounds to your UK account.

2. When the person provides his/her Nigerian account, do detailed investigation in Nigeria with your contact to be sure the person is real and operates the said account regularly.

3. Transfer just what you need monthly for fees, you don’t have to do large transaction with the person since you don’t know them personally (regardless of your security checks on the person).

To avoid all these issues, you can simply use the Binance swap and convert directly to GBP and then send to your account. Fee is only £1.

Dear elders, abeg are there countries one can visit without a need to apply for visa as a student or tier 2 visa holder?
Ghana, Benin, Niger, Barbados and all visa free countries to Nigerians. (I assumed the person is a Nigerian passport holder).

Not sure what you mean by aftermath but we both had good jobs before coming and were intending to go back to our jobs. We just took leave.

Sure, no wahala. I only responded because someone said it was impossible. Now while it is possible, it is highly unlikely that they can save that amount.

Haba now For a single person to survive on 20hr job is near impossible talk less a couple. Where do they want to stay? Bills inclusive house share with five other people?
I went and re-read his/her qustion again, there was only a mention of savings. We were not given any information on their personal circumstance. What if they have everything sorted?
The single biggest expense is accomodation. What if that's settled? I had my accommodation settle for the duration of my course so did not have to worry about that. The only utility I paid was electricity which was just over £50 a month. It was a student accommodation so no council tax, no broadband subscription etc.

Even in my statement you reacted to with "impossible", I said if the spouse was working and I gave a salary.

not possible with what u just wrote. How much will go into utility bills, rent and groceries? Is he living in a free house ? Can you do all that with 20hrs per week job? No give the guy false hope. They don’t pick money on the street here
I am always careful when using the word "impossible", especially when I am not aware of the full facts.
I will give you an example.
My spouse and I came for our masters at the same time. Neither of us workd for an hour during our study and yet ALL our bills were paid. Now I am sure you are screaming "IMPOSSIBLE".

Happy new year. Please I need a sincere advice for my next move.I got admission to southwales for Feb intake . I'm making 6 digits monthly here in Nigeria.I have a wife.As a Student with dependent is it possible for both of us to be saving like 3k pounds in a month.
hi,
Short answer is : It is possible.
Your dependent will have to get a very good high paying job while you also work to support the family. For example, if your spouse gets a job paying ~ £55k, their take home will be around £3080. You can choose to save all of it while surviving on your 20hr a week job.
On your followup question on earnings after school. Again, it is very possible but both of you need good paying jobs. Once a child is involved, it becomes harder.

According to the CPAG, the cost of raising a child (excluding housing, childcare and council tax) from birth to 18 is now: £160,692 for a couple family. £193,801 for a single parent/guardian.

The senate never said that and they have no power to say that. They only "appealed" to the CBN to extend the deadline. If the CBN refuses, there is very little the senate can do.

Can anyone recommend a good and affordable data analysis bootcamp that provide the much needed training as well as internship job experience and ready to give the required support till you secure your dream job and also have strong network in the job market
I have been checking some of them online ( 1.Masterschool-should be the best with juicy offer of paying tuition only when you land a job but too expensive @ £11000, 2. Careerera- cheap but bad online review can't afford to waste time and money o ,others :AIcore ,pitmann etc )
Abeg I need recommendation from our fellow naija that must passed through this same process .
I recently saw High Impact academy. I have not tried them but you can have a look. There's also CYI consulting and other bootcamps based in Nigeria. I doubt any of them will give you all that you have rquested but should be a good starting point. I went through CYI and got decent training but struggled with the job search aspect as I did not have a "real life" project I could speak to convincingly during my interview.
In the end, you have a very big part to play and the key is being able to speak the language and ability to relate the skills to your experience.

Update!

Hello guys, thanks for your responses and concerns. I replied my employer and stated some of the incidents of ill treatment, bullying and threats I received while working for them. I also told them to go ahead and report me to home office. After a couple of days, they mailed me to return my uniform and other company items in my possession. They also called to ask if I was still in the town or I had left the country. Lol. I laughed in my mind. My successful visa application mail was sent to me already. I took the items to them today. The MD came out in person to receive the items and went back in immediately. As I turned to leave, I said in my mind "good riddance".

I will be resuming work at my new place of work (a care home, no longer domiciliary care) in a couple of days.

Thanks to everyone once again for your suggestions and advice.
Congrats. He realised he lost his hold over you. Please in the future, never take nonsense from any employer (But be reasonable). Do the right thing and expect them to do same too, if not speak out (speak with people you trust or professionals).

Thank you but she is not sure if she needs to upload her certificate from her masters in the UK for her proof of english language, COS and her tuberculosis certificate from when she first moved to the UK. Please house for those that have switched from student visa or graduate visa to tier 2 what documents did you have to upload or if you uploaded any at all.

These questions are best answered by reading the requirements. The instructions are clear but if there is anything in particular you are not clear about ask. Requirements change often and some be due to your peculiar circumstance. Don't over think things, the UK visa process is easy.

URGENT PLEASE

Hello Everyone please my sister is about to apply for her tier 2 visa inside the uk from graduate visa but she was issued a COS almost 2 months ago and it read that her start date was 11th of November 2022. She is worried that the application will be rejected because she is just applying now. The COS expires in January but she wants to apply now but is worried as her work start date has passed - she couldn't apply because she didn't have the complete money then but she has it now so wants to do it-one of our friends said it doesn't matter that as long as she applies before the COS expires she will be fine.

Also does she need to upload any information as evidence during the application like - the COS?

Is this true please because she is really worried because her current visa expires in 2 weeks and she doesnt want this one to be rejected.

I will say if she has all the requirements, she has nothing to fear. The COS is still valid and the job is still there so don't over think it.
