Some are just so desperate, so desperate to leave Nigeria to any Oyinbo land. I was told about a man who left Nigeria for Albania. The man dey chop kwa-kwa for there now🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Albania is a very poor country in Europe.

Business › Nigerians Make Forbes 50 Wealthiest Black Americans List 2024 by Dynamicboss(op): 4:02pm On Dec 20, 2024 |
Forbes has unveiled its 2024 ForbesBLK 50 list, celebrating the achievements of the wealthiest and most influential Black Americans. Among the honorees are three Nigerians—Adebayo Ogunlesi, Tope Awotona, and Wemimo Abbey—whose groundbreaking contributions and entrepreneurial successes have earned them places on this prestigious list. The ForbesBLK 50 is a reimagining of Forbes’ 2009 Wealthiest Black Americans list, which then featured figures like Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, and Magic Johnson. While net worth remains a core metric, the new list also highlights innovation, societal impact, and leadership across diverse industries. What Forbes said Adebayo Ogunlesi, with a net worth of $1.7 billion, stands out as a pioneering force in global infrastructure investment. As chairman and cofounder of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), Ogunlesi led the private equity firm through a transformative acquisition by BlackRock in 2024 for $12.5 billion. Ogunlesi, a Harvard-educated lawyer and banker, previously spent over two decades at Credit Suisse before launching GIP in 2006. His influence extends beyond business, as he has become a key figure in reshaping infrastructure investment on a global scale. Also, Nigerian entrepreneur,Tope Awotona, the founder and CEO of Calendly, has redefined efficiency in scheduling and holds a net worth of $1.4 billion. Born in Lagos, Awotona moved to Atlanta as a teenager and pursued business and management information studies at the University of Georgia. After early entrepreneurial setbacks, he launched Calendly in 2013, driven by frustration with cumbersome meeting coordination. The platform, which raised $350 million in 2021, is now valued at $3 billion and serves millions of users worldwide. Although not a ranking, Wemimo Abbey, at just 32, is the youngest Nigerian on the list and cofounder of Esusu, an African fintech company addressing financial inclusion. Esusu helps renters build credit by reporting rent payments to credit bureaus, a service utilized by more than 20,000 properties and benefiting 1.8 million Americans. In 2022, Esusu achieved a $1 billion valuation following a $130 million funding round. Abbey, who grew up in Lagos, has a background in mergers and acquisitions consulting and a passion for leveraging technology to drive social impact. These three Nigerians show innovation, resilience, and the drive to address pressing global challenges. Their inclusion on the ForbesBLK 50 list is a foretelling of their entrepreneurial vision and the increasing influence of Nigerians on the global stage. https://nairametrics.com/2024/12/20/adebayo-ogunlesi-2-other-nigerians-make-forbes-50-wealthiest-black-americans-list-2024/Cc: Mynd44 |

I've seen many Nigerian women wearing their native attires, but still looking young. She just delivered and experiencing post partum. Also, women’s stomach tends to remain big after child delivery and after few months, it reduces though it depends on diet and exercise. I can see your lepa sef but definitely will gain weight after child delivery. |

Hemanwel: Atutuboyoyo!!! Yorubas have never been known to be good managers in the financial sector of our economy. This is largely due to their extravagant lifestyles.
Even one of the richest Yoruba men, Mike Adenuga, couldn't manage his Equatorial Trust Bank (ETB).
If UBA, Access Bank, Zenith, Fidelity, etc, had been managed by a Yoruba person from their inception, they would have probably ended up like ETB.
I come in peace o! Is GTB doing bad |
Business › Re: Naira Gains Rapidly Against Dollar As Sellers Struggle To Find Buyers by Dynamicboss: 2:41pm On Dec 07, 2024 |
JoeyNaza: I can confirm this. Dollar fell a lot in the black market too.
EDIT: No celebrate too much or praise Tinubu. My BDC guys explained that it's seasonal, as diaspora people are returning for the holidays, they are selling their FX in exchange for Naira, which is temporarily propping up naira value. One of them made a funny remark that all the "yankee bois" want to ride on the bad exchange rate to become billionaires in Naira , so they are selling off their dollars more than usual because it will fetch them more this period.
I am not unpatriotic, I support Naira gain, it is for our collective benefit. BDC boys are lying. It rose from 800 to 900 last year during December period. The rally could be attributed to the EFEMS integration with Bloomberg B system that allows financial institutions and dealers such as corporate entities can integrate with the system which has robust forex for naira swap. Imagine I don’t need to go through bank or BDC for forex sourcing and getting better from another dealer with lesser amount. It’s even the reason alit if people are offloading the dollar for naira swap. More forex is now in the system for few days than LCY. My doubt is how sustainable it will be |
