Hello all. I got to the UK yesterday 21st September. Flew medview airline @N172k, landed at Gatwick. They wanted to kill us with food. Lol
One advice, when you're packing your bags, do not use pack foods and clothes in separate bags. Maybe put some clothes on top of the food. Nigerian customs asked for a 4k bribe and I eventually dropped 2k after some begging. (Buhari should look into this. Lol).
At the border, queue was extremely long. The IO only asked what I came for, what course I'm studying, at which school, if I already have accommodation. Then he wished me a nice stay!

Thats how they denied one guy at Churchgate VAC on friday when my cuz went to pick her own visa, pls this should serve as a warning to peeps who have gotten their applications sent to Sheffield, always have your phone on and with you too. They did interview for him, guess they werent clear about somethings, so they called this dude on saturday from sheffield he didnt pick for 13times, neither did he call back ooh, and him having 3rd class in first degree they wanted to ask him what he has been doing since he graduated in 2014 after Nysc completed in 2015, am so sure if the dude had picked up and answered their questions then he would have gotten his visa. Because its an MBa he was going for and he was to do premasters and masters together. Due to them not been able to speak with him he got an outright denial, so the VO commented saying its cos he got a third. Which literally is very unusual for them to refuse on such ground, they obviously couldnt say cos he didnt pick his calls for 13times for them to get more answers bfr they make a decision. It was a terrible thing cos the guy paid for priority, that made me know they do applications on weekends for priority pple and thats how the guy used stupidity to loose his visa. Because have seen diff peeps with a third class abroad and they do their program and come out with very very good grades. So pls for us going for interview make sure your confident and speak and be very explanatory enuf to the VO and try to mention every important info to the visa officer too so they wont have any cause to start chasing u with calls to clearify things for them. Especially those doing the priority and other normal visa applicant peeps. Pls guys! I felt so bad for the guy, cos dose visa officers dont wanna know if u spent 2million to pay for visa app and all they look for slight chances, so pls be very brave confident and above all pray and hand it over to God the one who is the Chief Visa officer and has authority ova every being.

Gtb is 1000 for the whole month. Only stanbic is 500 daily.

What's wrong with GTB plz? Paid my IHS successfully but when I was about paying for visa fee it declined. Please what could be d problem? Have tried the early hours of this morning and its d same thing. Plz who encountered this?

I did, you can't pay for ihs and visa fees with one gtb card in the same month. Because online transaction for gtbank is maximum $1000 in a month. so I had to use the card of a friend I could trust. That's your only option.

I can't remember being asked any questions at departure. At arrival, the immigration officer only asked my purpose of visit, looked at the passport and asked for my course of study. I answered and she stamped my passport, that was it. I actually forgot to hold a copy of my CAS and I saw a lot of Chinese students with their own printouts. This made me a bit apprehensive that I will be asked and I might be delayed as I'll have to retrieve it from my laptop, but I wasnt even asked for it.

Left Nigeria on the morning of the 4th of September using Etihad airline. Major snag was that I intended to buy PTA using Travelex at the airport. Plan was to do an online transfer but realized they only collect cash. Tried to withdraw some cash from the ATMs at the airport but none was working. I had to send someone out of the airport to help with the withdrawal but had to call the person to come back when I was about to miss my flight. So summarized story, couldn't exchange enough money and therefore short on spending money until I fix a way to transfer my money in.
Had a stopover at Abu Dhabi and arrived Edinburgh at about 7.40am of September 5. Had to use a cab to get to the school as there was no Student union pickups and I had 3 Bags so using a bus would have been hectic as I'll have had to use 2 connections. Before I forget, withdrew 10 pounds at an airport ATM, exchange rate was 593 Naira to the pounds plus an extra N252 charge . That was crazy.
Anyway, got to the school, went to the main reception. Got my accommodation sorted. Had a quick bath and took a needed nap.

Conversion only comes to play when you're uploading funds from your naira visa or mastercard, i.e converting from naira to dollar, and the rate is determined by your bank. When you transfer to your dorm, you get the exact value of transfer in dollars since your dorm account is in dollars

Not sure, but I think it's about $4.95 or so I saw the last time I did. It may be higher for bigger transfers but the charges does not exceed a certain maximum transfer charge which I can't remember

Just go to www.skrill.com to sign up.
The rates can be seen on their fees section, usually, you're charged 1.9% of the amount you want to upload as admin fee and 1% when you transfer to other skrill accounts, not so sure, you can check the website
The verification is instantaneous, just check your account immediately, you will see the deduction
