quite right. but like it or not, d situation is almost there- hence d flaunting of baby mamas on SM. d solution is a wholistic approach, which our society simply refuses to deal with. but in d meantime, we can help them change their perception of themselves. Ogbotobo77: |

Womanizer:it's called "unplanned" pregnancy for a reason. it's like saying an unplanned job loss does not necessarily affect your future negatively. it takes serious willpower to overcome such a loss- especially with a good job and a bright career ahead. Na pregnancy and single parenthood u wan take compare am? but- if u plan to have a child outside marriage, good for u. |
tobechi74:makes sense, even though it's never as simple as that... |
of course there's baggage! even an unscrupulous, uncaring man still has that weight in his subconscious. how much more, a woman who carried the evidence of her indiscretion for 9 months and has a lifelong reminder of her bright future cut short. to expect anything less than baggage is idiotic. this is about how they can move forward and see their lives in a positive light. if to sey Na u nko? ![]() mrblessed: |

have a sit-down with any u know, see wot dey tell u- if they can open up. dis is about letting go. whether it's d loss of their dreams, or a deadbeat "baby daddy", it eats away at their souls. and this is without considering d family being disappointed, maybe frequent berating (especially by mums) and their own perception of self worth- usually tied to watching their friends move on in life, career & socialising. Whether you're single, divorced or widowed- First and foremost, love, respect and appreciate yourself. Your child is a blessing. I hope you're proud of them? Our society is hypocritical. Maybe it's the patrilineal nature of our culture. Maybe it's to prevent recurrence in the younger generation. But if so, why do all developed nations have the same issue of unwanted pregnancy- Despite all the preventive measures available to them, including safe abortions? Let's leave that debate for politicians, traditional rulers and religious leaders. Here's a simple fact- Many of our parents in the 60-80 year age range had children out of wedlock. Is this surprising to anyone? After all, men will have sex. Prostitution is less than 30 years as a recognized and established profession, so who were men having sex with in small towns and villages, even in cities? Single women. And yet despite sex workers being a part of our society, everyone pretends that they don't exist- In EVERY part of Nigeria! Hypocrisy. So, you had sex and had a child. How does that make you any less of a respectable woman? But it's YOU who has to change the narrative- Starting by treating the term "baby mama" as offensive. Then by taking pride in your Motherhood- Wetin many women dey find, but dem no fit see... And engaging in some serious reflection and self-realization: What do you need? What does your child need? How can you attain both? Come, lemme tell you- This mentality of "I have to focus on my child" is both unhealthy and counterproductive: Your needs, desires, ambitions and goals- that you had before you got pregnant- must live on. Even if they were temporarily suspended. So after your evaluation: 1. The most important thing you need is a support structure- Parents, extended family, friends, colleagues and spiritual guide. 2. Then you need a plan for YOUR life- built around your child, of course. But yours. And let your support system know why, what, when, where and how they fit into the plan. 3. Assign tasks. Delegate. Use the human resources around you. Always grateful. 4. Be free. At least, mentally. Fill your heart with love and hope, as you fill your mind with plans and contingencies. 5. Smile. The world keeps spinning, people keep living. Join in. Cherish the journey. Cos the one thing you will absolutely HATE yourself for is- When your child asks about their growing up, and you have to lie that you were happy- When you were actually filled with misery and resentment. Maybe of them, even. So create the past that your future self will remember- and tell your children of- with fondness and nostalgia. After all, who sadness epp? You go, girl! |
England’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty said that the new variant was faster spreading, and likely behind the alarming climb of case numbers in that part of the country. “There is no current evidence to suggest the new strain causes a higher mortality rate or that it affects vaccines and treatments although urgent work is underway to confirm this,” Whitty said. “Given this latest development it is now more vital than ever that the public continue to take action in their area to reduce transmission.” visit article for full report. #handsfacespace |

“When the virus changes its method of attack we must change our method of defense,” Johnson said at a news conference. “Without action the evidence suggests infections would soar, hospitals would become overwhelmed and many thousands more would lose their lives.” The dramatic escalation in the government’s pandemic response was triggered by a new strain of the virus that is virtually unique to the U.K. Emerging scientific evidence suggests the new strain can spread significantly more quickly than previous strains in circulation and is behind a huge surge in infections in recent days. Covid-19 case rates nearly doubled in London over the past week, with almost 60% of these infections attributed to the new strain of the virus, according to government officials. |

wait o. so for ur mind, we'd all be living in harmony, if we were worshipping African deities..? BUHAHAHAHA!! ![]() reallest: |
whatever u might mean, my point is simple- every nation seeks to get the upper hand over it's neighbors. there are conflicts in almost every country, so Africans can develop and grow only when they (we) accept responsibility for our situation. the West is no more guilty than the middle East; it's all our ancestors- who fought and enslaved each other thru the millennia. Zimbabwe was wrecked and looted by Mugabe and his cronies. South Africa has been ruled by blacks since Mandela, yet poverty and corruption are rife- even worse- there. who do Nigerians have to blame for the State of the nation? Nigerians. unless ur saying we're either mentally deficient- which is the only reason why outside forces can influence us; or the continent is full of children. is that what ur saying? reallest: |
ILoveDemMANNA:pls, who can borrow dis sycophant half a brain? just for dis thread.
