This new Senate rule is terrible, and people are not seeing it for what it is.
Under the revised rules approved on Tuesday, only lawmakers who have served at least two uninterrupted consecutive terms would be eligible to contest for key leadership positions, including Senate president and other principal offices. What this means is that senators will be fighting to be "three term senators" by all means if they any aspirations. I recall in my days when a corps member friend of mine told me, his mission is to scout for a wife material as that is one of the criteria his dad gave him to be eligible as the CEO of their Oil servicing company operating in PH.
A general trend of going to NYSC and followed by job hunting and onward stability may not be the case for everybody.
