ou @ denn, you can choose to get a local subsidize for the equipments you wants to imports, Go to FIIRO, oshodi with a prototype design of what you want to import and believe they will make it at half the price. To grow at home we must think local and export abroad!. My take sha. Not all equipment can be copied and firro isn't as cheap as you think. I went there for fish smoking kiln made of bricks and metal and was given a quote of 400k I be engineer I just studied the thing and will dub it at my farm. My farm design is now hard wood based now to adjust to the falling rates. |

bamistol:Nobody got the grant by party or political affiliations I just want us to thread carefully no one is really sure of how elections of next year would turn out to be. It is in my own humble opinion to do our campaigns in the background and rally support if we choose to vote for Mr President but politicising YouWin openly might spell doom for it. Politicians may hijack it if PDP is returned next year or APC might discard it becos it be labelled as a PDP property and that isn't the best way to repair our indefatigable minister of finance who has laboured hard to preserve the integrity of the program. 1 Like |

Agriculture / Re: 21 Weeks Old Pullets Not Laying. What Could Be Wrong? by eazeefix: 7:02pm On Nov 03, 2014 |
If you start light stimulation you must continue or else they production will never reach the peak and there will be a sharp post peak decline in production. I will suggest u increase their feeding (do not overfeed) and relax by 24 weeks they would have started to drop above pullet sized eggs and will reach their peak faster, just make sure the there is uniform growth within the flock. |

Fellow farmers let us not choose to ignore negative comment about our Industry. I have heard ignorant journalists both in print and electronic media spew rubbish just to sell news. The 2005-2006 bird flu is a testimonial where farms were Hawking crates of egg @150/crate and yet people refuse to buy. Just recently the Ebola scare made people boycott pork becos an ignoranmus said pork could spread Ebola despite absence of any evidence to that effect. Let us defend and educate people about the benefits of our dear pork. 1 Like 1 Share |

Haven't deployed crates and creep feeding relying on natural mothering instincts. Will deploy them by mid next year. Loose stools is minimal probably becos I use probiotics in my feed. |

None for now. My first mating of the landrance was to my large white boar to produce my F1 hybrid gilts which will eventually be my sow line. Sometimes next year I will do pure breeding to keep and sell to those interested. My farm is at Ijebu ode. |

Politics / Re: Niger Delta Will Continue To Push For Increased Derivation - Uduaghan by eazeefix: 6:33pm On Sep 15, 2014 |
The Niger Delta and indeed all regions deserve to control their resources what I do not really understand is why the Niger delta is aligned with the north which doesn't believe in their aspirations and treat the south west that has similar beliefs with suspicion. South south has been in power and I haven't seen any intelligent moves to push for what they have always desired or do they just want the presidency for the sake of being president? 2 Likes |

Don't know of rice brown but I know of rice bran too much of which will cause loose stools due to its high fibre content. It's use limited to 'filler' in feed but when used with enzymes it's inclusion level can be increased a bit. A lactating sow requires a nutrient dense diet so it might not be the best. Valuable just after farrow to prevent constipation 1 Like |
