Properties › Re: Cost To Supervise A Foundation Of 2storey Building Of 6flats by ebbie9ja(m): 11:56am On Jan 08, 2017 |
faridasr: a foundation layout plan is produced by architects before engineers can produce structural drawings. the engineer's role is limited to checking reinforcements and concrete mix. While architect does the setting out, makes sure all walls are aligned as drawn in architectural drawings and gives the final foundation height above ground level. other aspects like fixing of plumbing waste pipes are better handled under the supervision of an architect not a structural engineer. an architect must be there to coordinate if the best outcome is required. please stop the misinformation. thanks. This is ironic, Why will architect give the final foundation height, is that an architectural element? Architect's concern is the building aesthetic and foundation, my friend, is not part of them. What if the location soil has low bearing capacity? One of the reason why this nation is not doing well is because we have professional who doesn't know their functions. |

Jonbosco89: Please, can anyone help me to estimate, what should be a good price for an architect to supervise a foundation of 2storey building of 6flats (each 3 bedrooms)as well as soakaways Beware of quack engineers parading themselves here. I'll rather you find a competent person not minding the price. Many will say I can do it, but at what cost? |

joaquin64: Hi, as some of us can see or have heard, PMP/CAPM is becoming a huge deal in the world and being certified is very important. Most of the threads on this issue have become old so I wanted to start a new one. Please is there anyone interested in sharing information or pdf copies of certain materials online?
For example I am looking for Rita Mulcahy's book on CAPM exam prep. Thanks.
PS: Also if you would like pdf copies of the PMBOK 5th Edition (latest) which is the only book you would ever need and should only use to study for both PMP/CAPM, you can drop your email. I also have Rita Mulcahy's PMP exam prep book (most used/popular book for the exam preparation part) and an extra PMP Exam practice test and study guide by another popular author. Send to others that ask you for it in return. Share knowledge and help one another. Thanks. Stallon007@rocketmail.com |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 5 Ways You Should Research Employers Before Any Interview by ebbie9ja(m): 3:15pm On Aug 04, 2015 |
CrazyMan: It is a job-hunting rule of thumb to carry out a proper research of a potential employer before honoring any invitation to a session primed with barrages of confidence-deflating questions coined softly as an interview. Everyone knows this. But if you don’t, now you do.
A very well-conducted employer research ups your chances of landing a position in any organization. How? For starters, it makes you answer questions more intelligently and confidently.
Not to mention that it can help tilt the conversation in your favour and you can through this employer research, sell yourself while stroking your interviewer’s ego.
But how exactly do you carry out a good employer research?
1. Visit the organization’s website:
A good employer research on the web is one where you are actively scanning for the company’s year of establishment, projects, announcements, promotions, awards and recognition, products and services, financial information, locations, divisions, departments, and subsidiaries.
You will not believe the kind of information some interviewers expect you to know about their companies. This is why your employer research has to be solid.
2. Ask around:
The motivation for this method of researching employers is to obtain information concerning company culture, values, salary scale, employee welfare and benefits, trainings and speed of progression on the company’s ladder.
You won’t find this on the web so you should ask people that have worked, are working, or know someone who works there. This will better arm you for the interview.
3. Check out professional networking sites:
Visit sites like www.nairaland.com and www.linkedin.com to run a search on the company and see which of the people in your network work there when researching employers. You can then contact these people for more accurate information as regards the company and what to expect in the interview.
4. Do a background check on employees:
Part of an impressive employer research is checking the background of top employees. You can also do the same for any other employee you know may sit on the interview panel. This can easily be done when you run a search on the company on LinkedIn.
What you should look out for is what interests the employee and use that to your advantage in the interview.
5. Visit company review sites:
Finally, you won’t also go wrong by visiting a company review site. What the site does is collect anonymous employee reviews of the company which could be on anything from company culture to salary and workloads. This information can be very useful to you during your interview.

I've visited a few churches where one gets looked down on for not speaking in tongues; one visit was enough to know they were fooling themselves to impress others, not God. God bless you my brother. I visited one Church sometimes back. They took the first timers to a room and said we should start speaking in tongues...twas like 'jez say anything' I was confused. |
