THE FULANIS ARE CREATING THEIR OWN VIGILANTE GROUPS AND THEY WILL BE IN MILLIONS. MIYETTI ALLAH. The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has revealed that their organisation are working on creating their own vigilante groups in order to protect their people from the attacks of state-owned security personnel. This update was revealed by the group's national secretary, Alhaji Saleh Alhassan while speaking with newsmen of the International Center for Investigative Reporting, ICIR in Keffi, Nasarawa State on Monday. Hassan said their action of mobilising their men as security agents was born out of the increase in security outfits by state governments across the country that are becoming unfavourable to their herder members. Citing the Benue State local security agency trained, mobilised and established by their incumbent governor, Samuel Ortom, Hassan said their major was to settle disputes between herders and farmers, but unfortunately, they have turned to cattle rustlers, arresting and detaining herdsmen, seizing their cattles in hundreds and auctioning them at prices higher than even the herders can afford. He said it was a similar thing that happened in some Northern states after the they established local securities to oversea the activities of the Fulani herders in the state, these security men turned to cattle rustlers, abusing and threatening the existence of the Fulani herders. He noted that it was situations like this that turned some of the Fulani herders into bandits in the North, all in a bid to pay the communities back in their coins. As a result, Hassan said they - the Fulani communities are mobilising their own security outfits and that their people will not be in thousands, but in millions. He said that, that is the only way they can fight back the powers that be against them. |
BREAKING, SUSPECTED GUNMEN KILL 21 COWS IN RIVERS. At least 21 cows were reportedly shot dead by suspected gunmen who invaded a settlement in Odogwa community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. Mohammed Abubakar , Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in Rivers State, disclosed this at a media briefing in Port Harcourt. Abubakar said the incident occurred at about 9 .pm on Wednesday when the cattle rearers went to town to buy some beverages, saying of the 21 cows killed, 15 were pregnant. He expressed shock over the attack, because according to the him, the cattle rearers have been living in harmony with members of their host community. Abubakar said: “They shot 21 cows and before the Miyetti Allah people came back, the gunmen had escaped. “The cows were littered on the ground dead, just like that. Some just gave birth; some are pregnant. More than 15 were pregnant. “They too expressed surprise that they don’t know what happened. We have been living peacefully with the people in this community for long, even when our cows destroy crops, we pay for the damages. “We also pay for the place we are living, yet this sort of thing happened to us. If there was anything wrong that the cattle rearers have done that the people don’t like, they should tell.” Meanwhile, the Chairman of Northern Community in Rivers State, Musa Saidu, has sued for peace and called for a thorough investigation into the incident. When contacted, spokesperson of the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said she was in a meeting and asked our reporter to send a message. |

WITHDRAW SECURITY AGENTS FROM AKWA-IBOM CREEKS, TERRITORIES OR RISK TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF OIL FACILITIES. MILITANT GROUP THREATEN NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT. The group stated that it observes with “utmost dismay the ill-treatment and discrimination meted out to Akwa Ibom indigenes by the Nigerian government. A militant group in Akwa Ibom State under the umbrella of Unyekisong Akwa Ibom has warned the Nigerian government to immediately withdraw security agents from creeks and territories of oil-rich communities in the state and the entire Niger Delta region. The group issued the warning in a communiqué signed by its leader, General Dede Udofia and the leader of the Special Operations & Strike Team, Major Ibanga Ekang. The militant group in the communiqué titled 'Award of Oil Pipeline Surveillance Contract to Ex-militants' leaders and ill Treatment of Akwa Ibom People by the Nigerian Government: Our Position,' lamented that the Nigerian government has ill-treated and discriminated against the indigenes of Akwa Ibom State under the Presidential Amnesty Programme of the Federal Government for ex-militants. The group's warning came after its general assembly meeting held on August 21 in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital to analyse the activities, projects, programmes and developments of the Akwa Ibom oil-rich communities as well as to review the activities of crude oil theft as it affects the Niger Delta people and its environment. The group stated that it observes with “utmost dismay the ill-treatment and discrimination meted out to Akwa Ibom indigenes by the Nigerian government, especially those under the Presidential Amnesty Programme of the Federal Government. "Some of those who surrendered their arms and were documented for the programme and were paid for some months, and their payments were abruptly stopped, their names were illegally replaced without any justification while others have not been trained as their counterpart in other states despite the huge contribution of our people to the sustenance of peace in the Niger Delta region. "Even those who were trained by the Presidential Amnesty Office over eight years ago have not been given empowerment packages like their colleagues in the other Niger Delta States. It is a common fact that Akwa Ibom people have not been treated fairly in the Niger Delta project despite the fact that we are the highest oil-producing state with minimal issues from the host communities. "And it is also a common fact that Akwa Ibom State is the most peaceful state in the entire South-South and Niger Delta region in general, which has translated into the huge crude oil daily output in the state. "It would be recalled that during the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, an oil pipeline surveillance contract was awarded to some Ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta region, but Akwa Ibom State was tactically excluded, ignored and discriminated against by the NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Company) and the Nigerian government. "During the disarmament and documentation of the militants in the Niger Delta, over 3,600 of our colleagues surrendered their arms but were tactically excluded from the Amnesty programme; let it be known by the public that based on these injustices to Akwa Ibom indigenes, there are less than 400 indigenes of Akwa Ibom State out of the current 30,000 ex-militants documented by the federal government, yet they systematically excluded the 3,600 who surrendered their arms and embrace the programme under Phase 3 Amnesty Programme. "It is unfortunate that out of 26,000 ex-militants trained and empowered by Amnesty office, Akwa Ibom people are not up to 5; this is totally unacceptable and should be addressed. "That Akwa Ibom State as at today is the highest oil producing state in Nigeria as a result of our tireless work, peace-building with stakeholders, patrol along pipelines routes and waterways yet we have been treated with total disdain over the years by the successive government. "Our environment has been polluted and the ecosystem destroyed by oil and gas activities, yet our elders and stakeholders have been pleading with us to maintain the atmosphere of peace, but we cannot continue to maintain peace under the present discrimination against our people while our resources are being taken daily to feed others. "We hereby warn that we shall no longer allow impunity to continue unchallenged; we call on the Federal Government to withdraw security agents from our creeks and territory and give us the opportunity to protect oil facilities in our territory as we cannot be jobless in our land while others are benefiting from it. "We can no longer allow discrimination, impunity and daylight robbery of our right to continue unchallenged. This time we are ready to ensure that the entire world is aware of the neocolonialism perpetrated by the Nigerian government against Akwa Ibom people. "The oil pipelines and other facilities in our territory are under our care and we call on the government to understand that we shall stop at nothing to ensure that justice is done; it is either we are given the opportunity to protect pipelines, oil wells and other oil facilities in our territory or we mobilise our men for total destruction and hostilities. "Finally, we want to call on the Federal Government to do the needful and stop discriminating against Akwa Ibom people as we shall not continue to tolerate ill treatment from the Nigerian government despite our continuous loyalty and peaceful disposition. "If our people are not carried along by the government in her dealings with the Niger Delta people and stakeholders we shall be forced to go back to those dark days of hostilities. "If the Federal Government is not prepared to award oil pipeline surveillance to Akwa Ibom people, then they should be prepared for zero oil production in our territory. "The government should know that no one has a monopoly of violence and that Niger Delta does not belong to one individual, or one ethnic group but it is circular and distinct by different states and tribes that make up the region. A stitch in time saves nigh." SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Nigerian Government gave a multi-million-dollar pipeline surveillance contract to a former militant leader. It was learnt that the government and the NNPC had signed a deal with a former militant leader and Commander of the defunct Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo to end pipeline vandalism and all forms of oil theft in the Niger Delta, the source said. It was gathered that youths from across the Niger Delta area were trooping into Oporoza, the ancestral headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri West Local Government Area of Delta state and the home of Tompolo. It was learnt that Tompolo had already met with some ex-agitators and youth leaders in oil-rich communities in Niger Delta for enlistment to safeguard oil pipelines. The contract awarded to Topolo has been generating mixed reactions. |

WHY DEAD BODIES ARE BURIED SIX FEET BELOW THE GROUND There are some occurrences that are extremely common in our immediate environment, but we tend to accept them as typical. It's likely that the majority of us have been present at funerals and witnessed the process of grave excavation firsthand. As a result of the fact that it is practiced in virtually every country on the planet, some people consider it to be a culture. Have you ever given any thought to the question of why humans are often buried at a depth of six feet below the ground? In the event that you haven't heard them before, I'm going to explain some of the reasons why people are buried beneath a yard of dirt today. 1 It averts the possibility of the casket being carried away by the water. One of the reasons why individuals are buried underground six feet deep is because of this. There are times when we consistently receive persistently heavy rain, which can lead to soil erosion. There is a possibility that the casket will be carried away by the moving water if the deceased person is buried more than three feet underground. And if the cemetery is dug a little deeper, there won't be any chance that the casket will be carried away by the water. 2 It stops the spread of diseases that are easily contagious. There are several infectious diseases that pose a significant threat to human health and are capable of being passed from one individual to another. For example coronavirus and pneumonic plaques. Other animals will not be able to unearth the diseased body if it is buried at a depth of six feet below the surface of the ground. This will prevent the disease from spreading to other animals. 3. It eliminates the possibility of the casket being stolen. This is yet another significant factor that contributes to the practice of burying bodies at a depth of six feet. There are some people in this world who will never leave a grave without taking the casket with them and using it for their own nefarious purposes. If you bury the dead deeper, it will be more difficult for them to access them, which will assist reduce the number of instances of theft. https://www.google.com/amp/s/opera.news/za/en/culture/amp/a412a50fcf137b0236e9f6740af69012 |

BREAKING NEWS!! LIKE ZAMFARA GOLD, CRUDE OIL IS OUR BIRTHRIGHT/ NIGER DELTA GROUP. UGHELLI – A group under the aegis of Lower Niger Oxygen LNO has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to as well consider crude oil endowment in the Niger Delta as free gift of nature to the inhabitants like the Zamfara gold deposit which was mined and exported by the Zamfara State Government. The LNO also advised the former Leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta MEND Oweizide Ekpomupolo aka Tompolo to jettison the 4.8billion monthly surveillance contract awarded to him by the Muhammadu Buhari administration for him not be at dagger drawn with his fellow Niger Delta… The spokes person of LNO who preferred to be addressed as Alpa told journalist after it’s meeting in Udu near Warri warned sons of Niger Delta not to be used as easy tools to cause division, bloodletting and acrimony for a plate portage. Alpa maintained that as far the Federal Government could allow the Zamfara people and Government to freely mine and sold gold deposits found within their State ,equally does not have the moral right to stop those who partake in the crude oil business to better their lives. The spokesman of the LNO noted that for decades the Federal Government through the multi national oil companies have been exploring oil in the region ,with it’s revenue used to develop other areas without recourse to the environment the revenue gotten from, added that since the government has failed the people, let the people enjoyed dividends of their environment, he said. Alpa said despite the call from socio cultural organizations, elders, youths and other stakeholders to the Federal Government to constitute a substansive board of the Niger Delta Development Commission to at least address some of our developmental needs fall on deaf ears ,for the past three and half years in this present administration. “But they deem it necessary to award surveillance contract to safeguard crude oil pipelines, but not interested to develop and address the challenges of these oil bearing communities. It only a fool that will take this government serious. The crude oil is our birthright ,we will use it to better our lives.” He further warned that any son of the region who tries to stop the livelihood crude oil business in the region would be labelled anti-Niger Delta and be dealt with accordingly. |
