CrimeAir Force Sends Fighter Jets To Adamawa, Bombs Villages by Ebisco01(op): 6:38am On Dec 06, 2017
Kindly Visit www.mcebisco.com.ng For Latest News

The Nigerian Air Force, on Tuesday, said it had deployed two fighter aircraft – an Alpha Jet and an EC 135 attack helicopter – to the troubled communities of Adamawa State, to bomb what it called “hideouts of miscreants” in the villages.

The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, confirmed the deployment to The PUNCH, noting that the bombardment was “warning shots” rather than shooting to kill.

It was reported on Tuesday that scores of people were killed in Dong and Lawura villages in the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State when rampaging Fulani militia attacked some communities, burning down no fewer than five villages.

Residents had confirmed the killing of a District Head and another village head by gunmen as the attackers reportedly set buildings on fire and damaged property.

The police in the state had confirmed the violence, but had yet to come out with the casualty figure.

The attacks on the villages, which entered its fifth day on Monday, reportedly witnessed air bombardment from the air force to stop the rampaging Fulani militia from entering into Numan.

Earlier on Monday, the police had confirmed that six police officers were killed in the attack between herdsmen and farmers.

“We lost six policemen in an ambush by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The police were on their way to Dowaya village, outside Numan (district), with the intention of disarming Fulani herders, who reports said were carrying arms.

“No arrests had been made in connection with the ambush,” Othman Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer, had said.

Adesanya noted that the deployment of the aircraft was “a continuous exercise.”

The NAF spokesman added, “We launched an attack both with our Alpha jet and the EC 135 helicopter. We were able to keep touch with the activities in the area. The deployment is a continuous exercise.

“We have an oversight function over the whole area to provide security. Before now, we had actually been doing constant air surveillance.

“Our intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms reported the bombing of villages and the rest. The two helicopters are both involved.”

When asked if the air force could not mistakenly bomb fleeing villagers, the NAF spokesman said, “The air force exists to protect Nigerians, not to fight fellow Nigerians. How it is done is that we have a video recording of operations. It shows those who were actually attacked.

“There were more of warning shots – not shots to kill. Immediately the shots were fired, the miscreants realised fire was coming and they actually fled the area. I do not, at this time, have any casualty figure; all I know is that there was a positive effect of the missions.”

PoliticsNigerians See Saraki, Others As Thieves But We All Steal – Doyin Okupe by Ebisco01(op): 4:58pm On Dec 03, 2017
Doyin Okupe, Aide to the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan has stated that Nigerians steal at different levels where they find themselves.

The former Presidential aide, however lamented that leaders and political office holders are always scapegoats.

He wrote on Facebook, “I read some posts on my Facebook wall this morning where people asked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki for proof of his allegation on his comments on the issues of recovered loot.

“Yet without any proof whatsoever same people call Dr. Saraki and many other public official including me, Thieves, even in the absence of any evidence, proof or even accusation of wrong doing or malfeasance from any quarters or a judicial indictment for that matter.

“In Nigeria, when your friend or the enemy of your friend is accused, you ask for proof but when your enemy or opponent is accused you don’t wait for any proof you immediately jump to the conclusion and pronounce judgement of guilt.

“Yet in our little ways, we live on “small small” stealing & prosper in our little ways from hidden corrupt practices.

“We all steal from our employers, destroy his enterprise through dishonest practices. Small businesses do not thrive in Nigeria because once the owner is absent and places trust in his manager (s) they steal him blind and wreck the trade or business.

“This is a major cause of unemployment in our society. We all live beyond our means and subsidies our finances from bribery and corrupt and “sharp” practices in our various endeavors.

“Drivers send their children to fee paying schools and sell their boss’s diesel, and collude with mechanics to make up.

“We all shout at roof tops and demonize leaders and officials yet we pay people to do jamb exams for our children at special centers.

“We bribe National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) officials to give our children “good” postings. We crawl at night to the houses of highly placed relations and government officials to seek for and obtain favors we are not entitled to.

“We smuggle goods into the country (Nigeria) and bribe custom officials. As undergraduates we pay lecturers to pass exams, others more daring purchase oven fresh certificates to secure employments.

“We swear to false oaths and obtain willfully perjured affidavits. We purchase or fraudulently obtain false medical certificates to cover our absenteeism from duty post while on trips to Dubai (UAE) to purchase merchandise. As media men we take “gifts” to publish false stories.

“As civil servants at LG, States & Federal levels we award contracts directly to ourselves or cronies. We frustrate projects that are beneficial to the people if there is no derivable benefits to us.

“All these and many more we do but because its secret & unexposed we scornfully condemn others who are guilty of the same offence. If Nigeria will survive, It will require a general attitudinal change NOT scapegoatism or playing the Ostrich.”

HealthRevealed: 10,000 Nigerians Die Of Cancer Annually – Health Minister by Ebisco01(op): 7:22am On Dec 03, 2017
Nigeria’s Minister of Health has revealed that the lack of proper medical equipment in the country’s medical institutions has led to the death of thousands from cancer ailment.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, said on Friday that 10,000 Nigerians die of cancer annually due to the lack of necessary equipment and resources to attend to the patients.

Speaking in Abuja at the inauguration of the National Hospital’s Radiotherapy Centre with new Multilleave Linear Accelerator, known as LINAC, for cancer treatment, Adewole described cancer as a disease that had killed more people than the combination of Tuberculosis, infectious diseases and HIV, while decrying the lack of resources to cushion the effect of cancer.

He explained that based on the review of International Atomic Energy Agencies of countries conducted in 2013, only South Africa and Egypt have the capability of treating cancer, a situation he described as worrisome.

News Agency of Nigeria reported that the minister also commended the wife of the Vice-President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, for her passion in addressing the plight of cancer patients, saying such passion had made it possible for the centre to be operational.

He said the Linear Accelerator machine in the facility would be increased to two so as to prevent a situation where patients would be stranded, should the machine break down. He added that the Federal Government would upgrade other seven cancer centres next year in order to minimise the burden of cancer and associated death rates in the country.

He said, “What is important is that the machine has been put to work and upgraded and it is an opportunity for linking those networks, treatment modalities that are new. Anybody coming to this centre will get the right treatment. With the right complaint, we will minimise our treatment damages to neighbouring organs so that we can be more precise with respect to treatment that we offer.

“We are making moves to have two new machines that can treat people and we also pledge to complete this centre to become the first of its kind in Nigeria.”

Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital, Dr. Jafaru Momoh, said the radiotherapy unit, inaugurated in 2000 was operational till it finally broke down in February due to pressure.

He said one LINAC was procured in 2013 but was not installed until recently due to the paucity of funds to procure the necessary CT simulators and accessories for its installation and inauguration.

He said, “The new LINAC is the first of its kind in Nigeria, the members of staff of relevant departments have been trained on its use. Additional support will be needed to complete the entire complex and provide the necessary equipment and relevant manpower to run it as a centre of excellence for cancer care.”

Meanwhile, the wife of the Vice-President, while inaugurating the facility, lauded the efforts of the hospital’s management for making the facility a reality.

She described the death of 10,000 people to cancer as unimaginable and assured the hospital of the Federal Government’s support in making everything available to ensure quality service delivery in the facility.

“By the reason of this building, I see patients that are helped, loved ones of patients that are happy and that we have a facility that they can use to help their loved ones out of sickness,” she added.

CrimeMotor Boy Condemned To Die By Hanging After Doing This Shocking Thing To A Labou by Ebisco01(op): 8:55am On Dec 01, 2017
For daring to wreck irreparable damage to the life of labourer in a Lagos State community, a motor boy has been served with the ultimate punishment.

A motor boy, Kabiru Lasisi, was on Thursday sentenced to death by a Lagos High Court for killing a labourer, Abdulrazak Haruna, in October 2013.

According to The Nation, the convict stabbed Haruna fatally in the neck and watched him bled to death.

Justice Raliatu Adebiyi in her judgement found Lasisi guilty of a one count charge of murder and sentenced him to death.

The state prosecutor, Mrs. O.A. Olugasa, told the court that Lasisi accompanied his boss, one Kehinde Kuye, a bus driver to a company, Twins Fajah Nigeria Limited located in Ajah to deliver cement to a customer when the incident took place.

According to her, the deceased confronted the convict for obstructing the labourers offloading cement with his vehicle and an argument ensued between the duo.

The prosecutor said: “During the argument, Lasisi, in Yoruba language, threatened to kill the deceased.

While other labourers were trying to separate them, Lasisi who was armed with a small knife stabbed the deceased on the right side of the neck, leaving a deep cut from which blood was gushing out.

The deceased died before getting to the hospital.

Lasisi tried to flee from the scene but was apprehended by an angry mob of labourers who almost lynched him.

He was saved by the manager of the company who tied him up in his office before the police arrived.

Lasisi claimed that he did not stab the deceased, adding that the deceased was injured by an iron rod at the back of the truck.

The prosecutor called four witnesses and tendered the weapon used in committing the crime – a small knife which was still caked in dried blood – as evidence.

Lasisi, through his counsel, Mrs. Y.A Ajayi, from the Office of the Public Defender, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.

Ajayi said the convict is a first time offender who is deeply remorseful about his actions.

My Lord the defendant is a first time offender who is remorseful about his actions. He is a young man who can still be of benefit to the society. During the cause of the trial he lost his parents,” she said.

Justice Adebiyi, however, said she found no merit in Lasisi’s plea for mercy and sentenced him to death.

The evidence against the defendant is overwhelming as the victim died from the stab wounds.

The defendant knew what he was doing when he brought out a knife, knowing fully well that it can cause grievous body harm. His utterance, ‘I will kill you’ also showed that he knew what he was doing.

The defendant, Kabiru Lasisi is hereby sentenced to death. May God have mercy on your soul
the judge ruled.

TravelTears Every Where: Pregnant Woman, Five Others Die In Ogun Crash by Ebisco01(op): 4:02am On Nov 30, 2017
A pregnant woman and five others lost their lives, while two others were injured in an auto crash along Ajebo Road, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday, when a granite-laden Volvo truck and a Nissan Bluebird collided.

A traffic report obtained by our correspondent indicated that the accident occurred at the Mechanics Village, Ajebo Road, Abeokuta, at about 9pm.

The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the Nissan Bluebird had number plate, FD 638 EKY, while the Volvo truck bore KJA 731 XP as its number plate.

He said the casualties were all passengers in the Nissan, including the driver.

Akinbiyi explained that although the car was private, it was being used for commercial purposes when the accident occurred.

On the cause of the accident, Akinbiyi noted that the truck driver drove recklessly and lost control, forcing the vehicle to veer into the opposite lane.

The truck was said to have then collided with the oncoming Nissan Bluebird.

He said, “The Volvo truck was coming into Abeokuta, while the Nissan car was travelling outside the capital city to Mile 6.

“The truck driver caused the accident by driving recklessly. He lost control of the truck as it crossed to the opposite lane, colliding with the Nissan Bluebird, which was on its own lane.

“Six people died in the car, including the driver and a pregnant woman. The casualties were three males and three females. There were two children among them.”

He, however, said the driver of the truck fled the scene of the accident.

Akinbiyi added that the injured passengers were receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, while the deceased had been deposited in the Ijaiye General Hospital mortuary, also in the capital city.

Sports2018 World Cup: Super Eagles Scout, Agali Reveals Two Players To Join Nigerian T by Ebisco01(op): 10:01pm On Nov 29, 2017
The newly-appointed scout of the Super Eagles, Victor Agali, has revealed that the duo of Obafemi Martins and Joel Obi may be called up by Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr for their games next year.

Martins, 33, ended the season in spectacular form for Chinese Cup winners, Shanghai Shenhua, with scoring a stunning goal in the final match against Shanghai SIPG last weekend.

On his part, Obi has already won over Rohr with his impressive displays for Torino in the midfield, where he has also scored two goals despite operating as a deep laying play maker.

Their form has caught the attention of Rohr, and according to Agali. The duo is set for a recall to the team next year, but added that they have to keep ‎working hard.

Agali told Sportsvillagesquare, “All players who are currently performing to expectation in their respective club sides have equal chance. The coach {Rohr] is a disciplinarian who welcomes players based on merit.

“Don’t be surprised to see the likes of in-form Obafemi Martins, Joel Obi and others returning to the team, and I myself won’t hesitate to scout for more legs that will help maintain the good form.”

PoliticsWhat Ojukwu’s Death Has Done To Igbo Nation – Ifeanyi Ubah by Ebisco01(op): 8:19pm On Nov 26, 2017
The Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, on Sunday declared that the death of the late warlord, Odumegu Ojukwu, six years ago, signalled the commencement of a new era of Igbos and Nigeria in general.

Ubah made the remark to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the death of Ojukwu.

In a statement personally signed by him, entitled, “In Remembrance Of A Colossus, The Great Ikemba,” Ubah said Ojukwu’s “conviction, confidence, strength, character, wisdom and inspirational leadership availed the Igbos a strong identity,” in Nigeria.

The statement reads: “Today, the spirit of Ndi Igbo is awakened! On this day, six years ago, an era ended with the passing of our leader and the founding father of our great party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Ezegburugburu of Igboland).

“The glorious exit of this great Nationalist signalled the dawn of a new era for Ndi Igbo and Nigeria as a nation.

“Ojukwu’s conviction, confidence, strength, character, wisdom and inspirational leadership availed the Igbos a strong identity within the scheme of affairs in our country, Nigeria.

“He became THE LEADER when we, as a people were in dire need of one; a thundering voice and a breath of life into the overwhelming recognition we enjoy today as Igbos.

“As we at AFA IGBO EFUNA commemorate the 6th year of The Great Ikemba’s passing on to higher glory, nothing hurts more than the actuality that our hero is no longer here with us.

“However, on account of the fulfilled and noble life he lived, we join hands with Ndi Igbo and Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to remember and celebrate an iconic life well lived and a journey through life well travelled.

“AFA IGBO EFUNA remains perpetually grateful for the legacy Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu bequeathed to us, Ndi Igbo, as we stay resolute in ensuring that the labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain. Continue to rest in peace, Ikemba Nnewi! Your memory and legacy lives forever in our hearts.”

PoliticsIkoyi Whistle-blower Rejects Fg’s N325m, EFCC Delays Payment by Ebisco01(op): 6:46am On Nov 26, 2017
Yakubu Galadima, the lawyer for the whistle-blower, who informed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of the $43m, N23.2m and £27,800 (N13bn) recovered from an Ikoyi apartment, says his client will not accept anything below five per cent commission.

Galadima said this during a chat with one of our correspondents on Saturday.

The Secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, at an event on Thursday titled, ‘Tracking Noxious Funds’, which was organised by Kent University Law School and Human and Environmental Development Agency, had explained that any whistle-blower, who helped the government to recover anything above N1bn would receive less than five per cent commission.

Owasanoye, who was part of the team that drafted the whistle-blower policy had said, “If you blow the whistle and the government recovers cash, you are entitled to between 2.5 per cent and five per cent. The maximum limit is five per cent.

“According to the policy, if you blow the whistle and it is below N500m, you get four to five per cent because the higher the amount that is recovered, the lower the percentage that is given. This is the global best practice.

“If the recovery is between N500m and N1bn, you get three to four per cent (commission). If it is N1bn and above, it is 2.5 per cent. Indeed, there is a clause that we included in the policy to say that the government may determine the amount to be awarded based on other criteria provided that the amount to be awarded doesn’t exceed five per cent. In other words, the government may actually pay less than 2.5 per cent but nobody can be paid more than five per cent.”

However, the Ikoyi whistle-blower’s lawyer told SUNDAY MC EBISCO on Saturday that his client would not accept anything less than five per cent.

When asked if his client would accept anything less than five per cent, he said, “Not at all.”

Galadima had stated last week that the commission his client was expecting from the Federal Government was N860m and not N325m.

He had also stated that the commission should be paid based on the exchange rate at the time the money was recovered and not the current one.

Attempts to get comments from the Ministry of Finance were not successful as calls and a text message sent to the Director of Information in the ministry, Mr. Salisu Dambatta, were not responded to.

Beneficiary to be paid before Thursday, says ministry official

Meanwhile, there are indications that the Ministry of Finance is awaiting the final clearance from the EFCC before it can pay the Ikoyi whistleblower.

Officials in the ministry confided in one of our correspondents that the whistle-blower was expected to be paid before the end of this month.

However, it was gathered that while the ministry was ready to make the payment, the move could be delayed as administrative work was still ongoing on the issue.

The official said the ministry had put in place detailed procedures for processing payments under the whistle-blower policy.

These procedures, according to the official, were designed to prevent abuse, legal disputes and to ensure protection of the information providers.

He stated that the identity of the information provider must be verified, adding that there would be calculation of the amount payable and computation of relevant taxes.

The source stated, “The ministry of finance is not directly involved in the recovery of looted fund; that is the responsibility of the various security agencies.

“Our role is to make payment and you will recall that last week, the finance minister said payment would be made this month to the person who assisted in the recovery of looted funds including the Ikoyi whistle-blower.

“That process is on and final payment can be released when we receive confirmation from the agency that made the recovery before we can know who to pay money to.

“In the case of the Ikoyi recovery, we are talking of the EFCC which is the agency that made the recovery and once they give us final confirmation, payment would be made.”

In a related development, Owasanoye has revealed that violation of the directive regarding the Treasury Single Account by government agencies and officials tops the list of recoveries made from the whistle-blower policy.

Owasanoye said, “As of the end of October, over 5,000 whistles had been blown and about 75 per cent of that came from phone calls. So, you can report on the website, email, text message or phone call.

“What are the things that the various communications have covered? Contract inflation, ‘ghost workers’, payment of unapproved funds, embezzlement of salaries, diversion of excess crude funds, improper reduction of financial penalties, diversion of funds meant for people, placing money in a commercial bank, non-remittance of deduction of pensions or NHIS and failure to implement projects.

“Others include embezzlement of funds received from donors, embezzlement of payment meant for personnel emoluments, violation of TSA which is the highest, violation of FIRS regulations, non-procurement of safety equipment, money laundering, illegal sale of government assets, diversion of IGR which is the second largest, financial misappropriation, concealed bailout funds, mismanagement of micro-finance banks and illegal recruitment.”

CelebritiesFunke Akindele Denies Delivering Twins In London by Ebisco01(op): 8:42pm On Nov 25, 2017
Popular Nollywood actress-cum-filmmaker, Funke Akindele-Bello has denied reports that she gave birth to twins in a London hospital.

The news of her alleged delivery went viral on social media during the week after the heavily pregnant actress, famously known as Jenifa left Nigeria on Wednesday, for the United Kingdom.

Speaking with Encomium on Friday, the actress described the report as figment of people’s imagination, adding that everyone would know when she puts to bed.

She said “Don’t mind those people. They’re only imagining. You can not hide a pregnancy for long. And when you deliver, people must surely know.

“So, delivering a set of twins in London is not something one can hide at all.”

PoliticsReno Omokri Calls Out Fr. Mbaka, Bakare, Tinubu Over Alleged Corruption Under Bu by Ebisco01(op): 5:28pm On Nov 24, 2017
Former aide to the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan has called out Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka and Pastor Tunde Bakare for keeping silence in the face of discovery of so many corruption cases in the current administration.

According to Reno, the men of God have been quite because President Muhammadu Buhari is in charge.

He was reacting to Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami who joined his colleagues in the cabinet, Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazzau and Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, to deny authorising the reinstatement and promotion of former chairman of Presidential Task force on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina, to the civil service.

The officials all appeared before a House of Representatives panel investigating the controversial reinstatement of Maina into the civil service.

Reno wondered if it was a ghost that recalled Maina into the federal civil service and also questioned the silence of outspoken Christian religious leaders, Mbaka and Bakare.

He wrote, “If the AGF, Head of Service and a minister all denied reinstating Maina under a Jonathan government, it wouldn’t have taken 24 hours for Mbaka, Tunde Bakare and Tinubu to slam the government. But because it is Buhari, they are all quiet!

“The Attorney General of the Federation, The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Head of Service and the Civil Service Commission all deny reinstating Maina. So who reinstated him? A ghost? An unknown power? The Buhari administration has lots of explaining to make.

“According to the Senate, the present EFCC is guilty of relooting. If you don’t know what relooting is, it is simply seizing the property of a person accused of looting and then looting it yourself. Welcome to the new Nigeria under Muhammadu Buhari.”

CrimeMan Arrested For Allegedly Defiling 10-year-old Daughter [PHOTO] by Ebisco01(op): 4:07pm On Nov 24, 2017
One Akarauwa Eke has been arrested by the Imo state police command for allegedly defiling his 10-year-old daughter.

The victim, a primary three pupil at Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Ihiagwa, in the Owerri West Local Government Area of the state, had been living with her father, along with her siblings, since her mother died in 2013.

It was gathered that the father had come to pick the child from school but the refusal of the child to follow her father home raised suspicion by the people around.

Upon investigation by teachers and villagers, it was discovered that the man had allegedly been defiling his daughter at home.

According to Punch, a non-governmental organisation, Virgin Heart Foundation, said it was partnering Women of Divine Destiny Initiatives, an organisation owned by the wife of the governor of the state, to ensure justice for the girl.

The founder of the Virgin Hearth Foundation, Peace Dike, said the group had taken the victim to a hospital for series of medical examinations.

Dike said, “The suspect is in police custody. We are partnering Women of Divine Destiny Initiatives to ensure that justice is served.

“We are also writing to the Imo State chapter of the Federated International of Female Lawyers to get legal aid for the girl because she has been abused by someone who ought to have protected her.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Andrew Enwerem, said the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, had ordered that the matter be charged to court immediately after investigation.

Enwerem said, “Under the leadership of CP Ezike, such a weighty allegation will not be swept under the carpe.”

PoliticsBREAKING: Atiku Resigns From APC [full Letter] by Ebisco01(op): 9:51am On Nov 24, 2017
Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress.
Abubakar confirmed this in a statement he personally signed on Friday.

He also gave reasons for quitting the party.

However, he did not state which party he intends to join, but said he is pondering on his political future.

The statement, titled: “Statement of resignation of His Excellency Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa) Vice President of Nigeria, 1999-2007 from the All Progressives Congress,” reads in full…

“On the 19th of December, 2013, I received members of the All Progressives Congress at my house in Abuja. They had come to appeal to me to join their party after my party, the Peoples Democratic Party, had become factionalized as a result of the special convention of August 31, 2013.

“The fractionalization of the Peoples Democratic Party on August 31, 2013 had left me in a situation where I was, with several other loyal party members, in limbo, not knowing which of the parallel executives of the party was the legitimate leadership.

“It was under this cloud that members of the APC made the appeal to me to join their party, with the promise that the injustices and failure to abide by its own constitution which had dogged the then PDP, would not be replicated in the APC and with the assurance that the vision other founding fathers and I had for the PDP could be actualized through the All Progressives Congress.

“It was on the basis of this invitation and the assurances made to me that I, being party-less at that time, due to the fractionalization of my party, accepted on February 2, 2014, the hand of fellowship given to me by the All Progressives Congress.

“On that day, I said “it is the struggle for democracy and constitutionalism and service to my country and my people that are driving my choice and my decision” to accept the invitation to join the All Progressives Congress.
“Like you, I said that because I believed that we had finally seen the beginnings of the rebirth of the new Nigeria of our dreams which would work for all of us, old and young.

“However, events of the intervening years have shown that like any other human and like many other Nigerians, I was fallible.

“While other parties have purged themselves of the arbitrariness and unconstitutionality that led to fractionalization, the All Progressives Congress has adopted those same practices and even gone beyond them to institute a regime of a draconian clampdown on all forms of democracy within the party and the government it produced.

“Only last year, a governor produced by the party wrote a secret memorandum to the president which ended up being leaked. In that memo, he admitted that the All Progressives Congress had ‘not only failed to manage expectations of a populace that expected overnight ‘change’ but has failed to deliver even mundane matters of governance’.

“Of the party itself, that same governor said ‘Mr. President, Sir Your relationship with the national leadership of the party, both the formal (NWC) and informal (Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso), and former Governors of ANPP, PDP (that joined us) and ACN, is perceived by most observers to be at best frosty. Many of them are aggrieved due to what they consider total absence of consultations with them on your part and those you have assigned such duties.

“Since that memorandum was written up until today, nothing has been done to reverse the treatment meted out to those of us invited to join the All Progressives Congress on the strength of a promise that has proven to be false. If anything, those behaviours have actually worsened.

“But more importantly, the party we put in place has failed and continues to fail our people, especially our young people. How can we have a federal cabinet without even one single youth.

“A party that does not take the youth into account is a dying party. The future belongs to young people.

“I admit that I and others who accepted the invitation to join the APC were eager to make positive changes for our country that we fell for a mirage. Can you blame us for wanting to put a speedy end to the sufferings of the masses of our people?

“Be that as it may be, after due consultation with my God, my family, my supporters and the Nigerian people whom I meet in all walks of life, I, Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa, hereby tender my resignation from the All Progressives Congress while I take time to ponder my future.

“May God bless you and may God bless Nigeria”.

SportsPremier League: Why Musa, Iheanacho Aren’t Playing Regularly – Leicester Manager by Ebisco01(op): 10:44pm On Nov 23, 2017
Leicester City manager Claude Puel has explained why Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed are not getting play time at the club.

Puel admits Iheanacho is facing a lot of competition for a starting spot.

He, however, added that the 21-year-old must be ready to seize the opportunity when it comes.

The Nigerian has made nine appearances (two starts and seven substitute appearances) for the club this season.

He has struggled to break into the Leicester City side following his £25 million move from Manchester City in the summer.

On the other hand, Musa has been totally frozen out, restricted to cup games and U-23 fixtures.

Puel said, “He (Iheanacho) is a good player but he must improve when he finds his place in the squad,” said Puel during his pre-match interview.

“We have a lot of players in this position. It is good competition between them, perhaps a little more because for one or two positions we have six possibilities.

“We have Iheanacho, Islam Slimani, Ahmed Musa, Shinji Okazaki, Leo Ulloa and Jamie Vardy; it is a lot of players but I hope we can give them good game time for the future because we play every three days.

“It will need all these players with good qualities and attitude.

“They need to work hard in the training sessions to keep a good level. Of course all the players want game time but the balance is difficult because we have a lot of players in the same position.”

The former Premier League champions are 12th on the table with 13 points from 12 games and will travel to the London Olympic stadium to face West Ham on Friday.

PoliticsBoko Haram: Adamawa Community Blasts Nigerian Govt, Vows To Relocate To Cameroon by Ebisco01(op): 9:17pm On Nov 23, 2017
Some community leaders in Madagali, Adamawa state, have threatened that their people would relocate to neighbouring Cameroon.

Speaking during a presentation of relief materials by NEMA to those affected by recent attacks on Gulak town, the headquarters of the council on Thursday, the leaders said they were not happy with the situation, adding that distribution of food to the affected communities was not their ”top priority.”

Yusuf Muhammad, chairman of the council, said people of the area have made up their mind to leave Nigeria if nothing was done to alleviate their suffering.

“Our top priority in Madagali local Government Area is that we need security not food. Government, as matter of urgency should bring lasting solutions to stop excessive attacks and destruction on our people.

“If the deadly attacks continue, we have no other alternative rather than to relocate to Cameroon Republic,” Mr. Muhammed said.

He complained that the people of the area “were more affected by the insurgency and yet were neglected as if they were not Nigerians.”

Binta Garba, an APC Senator, confirmed that the position of the council chairman was true.

Mrs. Garba said both Madagali and Michika local government areas have neglected by the Federal government.

“Are we really part of Nigeria? If yes; Government should prove to us and treat us as Nigerians,” the senator said.

PoliticsWhy Buhari Is Apc’s Greatest Enemy – Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu by Ebisco01(op): 12:07pm On Nov 23, 2017
Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT, has insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari is the “greatest enemy” of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In an interview with ThisDay, Iwuanyamu said Buhari had his agenda and rode on the platform of the APC to where he is today.

He also accused the current Buhari’s administration of high level corruption.

Iwuanyamu also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of failing to deliver on its electoral promises to Nigeria.

He said, “My interest is the re-engineering going on in PDP, if we get it right, it is goodbye to APC and that is why I am praying, singing and begging, let us do it right. This is the party that has been in government for 16 years and a coup happened called amalgamation of parties, that is the biggest fraud in Nigeria because up till today CPC and Buhari have their own agenda. As for the other parties, you can see the fragmentation inside that place and that is why there is fragmentation, agitation, crisis in Nigeria.

‎”National Assembly and the president are not in good terms. We do not have one party called APC. Now PDP is one party, check the origin of the party, a group of prominent Nigerians from across, various political device came together and formed it. It was not a party formed on anger of let us remove Jonathan or that party must go to the north.

“We have greater opportunity, having learnt a lesson to be able to rise again. Now, if APC has provided a credible alternative, it would have been goodbye to PDP, but unfortunately, my people say if a woman marries two husbands, you will know the one that is better, not when you marry one you start saying this man is a very dangerous man, leave and go and marry another one, then you know the one that is dangerous.

“Nigerians have married two wives, what we are seeing today is not an APC government, Buhari had his own agenda and rode on the platform of APC and got to where he is. So, the greatest enemy of APC is the presidency and his agenda. You cannot have a political party unleashing pythons and gorillas and hyenas in a whole zone of 5 states when the election is coming next tomorrow, a good political party thinks of winning an election and they don’t say to hell with people.”
