Former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko has retired from boxing - ruling out a rematch with Britain's Anthony Joshua. The Ukrainian, 41, was knocked out in the 11th round by current champion Joshua at Wembley Stadium in April. Joshua, 27, had hoped Klitschko would sign his rematch clause for a proposed fight in Las Vegas on 11 November. "I have achieved everything I dreamed of, and now I want to start my second career after sports," said Klitschko. The two-time former champion, who held the unified title from 2006-2015 before losing to Joshua's fellow Briton Tyson Fury, ends his career with a record of 64 wins and five defeats. "I would have never imagined that I would have such a long and incredibly successful boxing career," he added. Listen to the thrilling finale of Joshua v Klitschko 5 live podcast: Joshua-Klitschko first fight reaction Relive Joshua's stunning victory as it happened Joshua must now face mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev before 2 December or risk being stripped of his IBF belt. Bulgarian Pulev, 36, has a record of 25 wins and one defeat, which came to Klitschko in 2014. Klitschko won Olympic super-heavyweight gold at the 1996 Games in Atlanta, before turning professional later that year. He built an unbeaten 24-0 record before losing to American Ross Puritty in 1998 in his only fight to take place in his native Ukraine. After claiming the WBO belt with victory over American Chris Byrd in 2000, Klitschko was upset by South Africa's Corrie Sanders and American Lamon Brewster in 2003 and 2004 respectively. He then went 11 years unbeaten, until losing the WBA, IBF and WBO titles to Fury in November 2015. The Germany-based fighter announced his retirement on a video posted on his website, with so many people trying to access it that the server crashed. In his video statement, Klitschko said: "Twenty-seven years ago I started my journey in sport. It was the best choice of a profession I could have made. Because of this choice I have travelled the world, learned new languages, created business, built intellectual properties, helped people in need. "At some point in our lives we need to switch our careers and get ourselves ready for the next chapter - obviously I am not an exception to this. "I am expecting and hoping my next career, which I have already been planning and working on for some years, will be at least as successful as the previous one, if not more successful." The thrilling finale of Joshua v Klitschko Klitschko's bout with 2012 Olympic gold medallist Joshua was the most lucrative fight in British boxing history - the fighters were reported to have shared prize money of £30m - and was only the third time a fight had been televised by two American networks. It turned out to be a memorable occasion in front of a post-war record 90,000 fans, as Joshua knocked down Klitschko in the fifth round before he was then dropped himself in the sixth - the first time in the Briton's career. Promoter Eddie Hearn had said the rematch could take place in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, but Las Vegas became a frontrunner in recent weeks until Klitschko's retirement. Hearn said he was informed of Klitschko's decision by the Ukrainian's manager Bernd Boente on Thursday morning. "We wish him all the success," Hearn said on social media. 'One of the most successful heavyweight careers' - Analysis BBC boxing correspondent Mike Costello There had been speculation he would face Joshua in a rematch in Las Vegas in November, but Klitschko has now decided to call time on one of the most successful careers in the history of the heavyweight division. In two reigns as champion he won 25 world title fights, and only the American Joe Lewis made more successful defences of the title. Klitschko suffered a series of knock-downs in the first half of his career, which led to him adopting a cautious style that was criticised by many fans. But the great trainer Emanuel Stewart said Klitschko had one of the best right-hand punch Source. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/40811881

Ghanaian boxer and one-time musician, Braimah Kamoko has revealed that he can easily floor Nigeria’s Anthony Joshua. The boxer, popularly known as Bukom Banku was speaking to the Accra based TV station, Joy TV when he made the revelation. Anthony Joshua had earlier made headlines after beating Wladimir Klitchko at the Wembley Stadium on April 29. Ghanaian boxing champion boasts to beat Anthony Joshua hands down Bukom Banku Not only did the Olympic gold medal-winning heavyweight toast success over an iconic rival, he did so in front of 90,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium. However, after witnessing the bout, Banku believes he can take his pound of flesh from the Nigerian easily. “I will beat Anthony Joshua hands down. Who is he?,” he quipped to the TV station reporters. According to the Ghanaian boxer, he was supporting Anthony Joshua to win the bout. He was, however, quick to add that he threw his support behind Anthony Joshua only because he felt “Klitschko could not stand him." Bukom has a pending fight with another Ghanaian boxer, Bastie Samir, but he is already looking forward to a bout with Anthony Joshua. “After Bastie, I'd love to fight undefeated heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.” Bukom Banku is currently a cruiserweight boxer with an undefeated record of 28 matches. Former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujaheed Asari Dokubo has weighed in on the alleged $90 billion fraud charge levelled against Nigeria’s former minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke. In a video published on social media platform, Facebook, Dokubo, branded President Buhari and his cabinet members as liars. He stated that if Madueke had looted $90 billion at the current exchange rate and returned it as widely reported, the government would not need to borrow from foreign institutions to finance infrastructural development across the country. Dokubo, who was visibly angry, accused Buhari of embezzling N30 billion naira from the oil sector when he was petroleum minister and head of the PTDF fund under the Late Abacha regime. He also lampooned music artists, Davido and Donjazzy for condemning the former minister without first seeking the truth. Quoting him; “Nigeria is now a country of liars, ruled by liars, and managed by liars. How can somebody just wake-up and claim Diezani embezzled $90 billion? Multiple that amount of dollars with the value of one dollar to the Naira and tell me what the sum is. How much is the Nigerian budget? If Diezani actually embezzled such an amount of money and has returned the loot, why is the federal government still trying to borrow money for infrastructure development? Buhari can lie. He lies like a fish. All the people around him are liars. How much did Buhari loot from the NNPC during his time as Petroleum Minister? N2.8 billion. How much did he loot from PTF during his time as Chairman of the fund? Okadigbo panel said he embezzled N25billion. “Those without character are accusing others of lacking character. If Diezani really stole what she is accused of stealing, let them prove it against her. Then that… that calls himself Don Jazzy will open his mouth… Davido, children will open their mouth. Davido has not talked about his uncle Isiaka Adeleke; Bola Tinubu; Fashola; even Awolowo. From where did Awolowo make his fortune?” source: http://politicsngr.com/2017/07/29/buhari-liar-lies-like-fish-asari-dokubo/ |

Donald Trump says he will not allow transgender individuals to serve in the US military "in any capacity". The US President revealed the decision after a "consultation" with armed forces chiefs. Campaigners said it was a "shocking and ignorant attack" on transgender troops. The leader's controversial move reverses plans put in place by Barack Obama's administration to begin accepting transgender recruits, with transgender people expected to start enlisting this year. Mr Obama's defence secretary Ash Carter ended a ban on transgender people being able to serve openly in the military in June 2016. An estimated 2,500 to 7,000 transgender people are already on active duty, with another 1,500 to 4,000 in America's military reserves. Since October, transgender troops have been able to receive medical care and begin formally changing their gender. Up to 250 service members are believed to be in the process of transitioning to their preferred genders or been approved to formally change gender. Mr Trump did not explain what would happen to those existing transgender people in the military, with those affected urged to contact lawyers by LGBT rights groups. The Pentagon referred all questions about the President's announcement to the White House and said it would provide revised guidance to the US military "in the near future". "We will continue to work closely with the White House to address the new guidance provided by the Commander-in-Chief on transgender individuals serving the military," Pentagon spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis said. Revealing the move on Twitter, Mr Trump posted: "After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. "Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail." Last month, Mr Trump's defence secretary James Mattis put a six-month delay on the acceptance of transgender recruits into the military. Under Mr Obama's plan, transgender recruits would have to have been "stable" in their preferred gender for 18 months. UK armed forces allow transgender people to apply and serve openly. Renowned teacher and leader of Peace House, Gboko, Brother Gbile Akkan has strongly condemned those promoting the social media app that ‘predicts’ peoples future. He said such was demonic and amounted to divination. The soft-spoken revered cleric said it was wrong for anyone to allow an app predict his character. Findings by DAILY POST have shown that the app, https://en.testony.com/ is gradually gaining popularity online, especially among Nigerian internet users. Checks on the app show that it has several features that predict one’s death date, cause of one’s death, virginity status as well as future partners. Reacting to the development, Akanni said it should not be used among Christian folks. He wrote thus on his Facebook page: “SOCIAL MEDIA DIVINATION —-“I woke up this morning with a residue of revelation in my spirit. God was pointing me to a phenomenon that has been flapping its wings on social media for a protracted while now. “Namely, the fact that many, including Christians now practice divination and consult mediums on Facebook. Why would a Christian subject himself to a test that reveals the kind of spouse he will have and the kind of children he will have in the future? Why would a Christian allow Facebook to tell him his personality type and Character traits? Indeed this is nothing short of consulting mediums or practicing divination in broad daylight. “Why would you give social media so much power and credibility as to depend on it for a proper assessment of yourself and the fate that awaits you in the future? Why would you look to the world for your identity? “May God help us to repent from the practice of social media divination in Jesus name.” # DANGEROUS TRENDS # DISTURBING PROCLIVITIES” |
In this retro series, we takes a journey down memory lane to look at the popular Alabukun powder that has survived more than 100 years in existence without any notable advertisement to keep its life going. The Alabukun drug has been a very popular medication in different parts of the country although few people have wondered how it came into being and the brain behind it. The drug has become a ubiquitous one that for some, it is the first point of call for any kind of ailment. It is also relatively cheap and handy making it affordable for consumers. How Alabukun became very popular in Nigeria The man behind the Alabukun Powder Jacob Sogboyega Odulate who was born in 1884 in Ikorodu Lagos created what later became the legendary Alabukun drug in 1918. According to report, Odulate at age 14 trekked from Lagos to Abeokuta for three months where he later established his pharmaceutical invention. The production of the Alabukun drug In 1918 when Nigeria was still under serious colonial rule, Odulate with the help of his wife and children go to work at his laboratory and workshop at Sapon in Abeokuta. Most of its ingredients came from Liverpool and includes acetylsalicylic acid and caffeine as its active ingredients. “A packet contains 760 mg of acetylsalicylic acid and 60 mg of caffeine making a total of 820 mg.” The drug became popular among those who preferred local medication to the European one because the powdery form of the Alabukun drug resembled traditional method of drug making which involved grinding the bark of trees into a powdery form. For others, Alabukun was a bridge between the traditional medication and the drugs introduced by the colonialist and was therefore easy to embrace by consumers. Cure Alabukun has been fondly referred to as “gbogbonise” especially by Yoruba-speaking Nigerians which literally translates to “a drug that cures all ailment.” This is because it is believed that it has the power to treat different illness especially pain, cold, headache and feverishness. Why Alabkun is not advertise Although very popular, Alabukun has found a way into the heart of Nigerians without being advertise. According to report, the drug was spread by word of mouth while drug shops were encouraged to recommend it as a treatment for cold and headache. The feedback was that it worked very fast and being cheap, it soon gained steady rise and popularity. From there, it spread quickly from the south west to other part of Nigeria and then to Benin Republic. How Alabukun became very popular in Nigeria So why is this drug not being advertise even more than 100 years after it was produced? The first report is that the quick popularity of the drug provided Odulate with a strong sense of assurance that there was no need for it. By the time the popularity of Alabukun spread, demand for it rose from consumers. Besides that, it was reported that the composition of the drug made it impossible for it to be placed for advertisement as that would have forced it to be put out of market especially from pharmacists. Even without the opportunity of being placed for advertisement and under the reprehensible colonialist government, Alabukun soared making it one of the most popular and oldest indigenous drugs in the country.

Pope Francis,Tuesday, expanded the criteria for becoming a saint to include caring for patients with highly infectious diseases, “free offering of one’s life” in an apostolic letter published by the Vatican. An example of such self-sacrifice could be caring for patients with highly infectious diseases. Previously, people could be named saints in two ways: if they had been martyred for their Christian faith, or had led a particularly holy life and had miracles credited to them. Vatican media, however, explained that the new category of sainthood has five stipulations. Pope Francis In addition to the free and voluntary offering of one’s life, and heroic acceptance of a certain and “soon-to-come death, there must be a close relation “between the offering of one’s life and the premature death of the one who offers it.” The saintly candidate must have chosen to lead a good Christian life until their death and must have had “the reputation for holiness” before and after dying. Finally, there must be evidence of a posthumous miracle that could be directly linked to the candidate. Report says the new category of self-sacrifice does not have to include persecution by non-Christians. SOURCE www.nigeriatoday.ng |
When it comes to religious analysis and procedural doctrine, the buck stops with the Diyanet in the Islam world. Thus far, the 85,000 mosques operational in the states fall under its jurisdiction. The all – encompassing dogma is however facing what could be its biggest hurdle thus far, after it put out a recent fatwa, which is a set of principles that give a framework for understanding Islamic decrees. A feeling of discontent and a lot of deliberation ensued following the delivery of the new fatwa. Responding to an Islamic viewer, the Diyanet stated that, as far as Islam goes, ‘’if a father kisses his daughter with lust’’ it is of no consequence to one’s marital state. As if to better the statement, he added that it would not be tantamount to iniquity, ‘’if the father looks at his daughter and feels lust’’ given that the daughter is, ‘’over nine years old.’’ It is somewhat puzzling that the fatwa in question should come soon after another one from the Diyanet, in which it was declared that individuals who are engaged to be married were not permitted to walk hand in hand, lest they are tempted into activities that are considered haram (illegal) according to the Islam teaching. This is taken very seriously, carrying with it a sentence as extreme as stoning to death in some extremist parts of the Islam world. From a Western perspective, it could be concluded that these practices are barbaric and inhumane. Understandably, shared indignation over the internet erupted, to the extent that the fatwa had to be removed from its webpage. However, like all things on the internet, the fatwa is still making the rounds. In a bid to redress the damage, the Diyanet leader, Mehmet Gormez, spoke to TRT, a Turkish network, claiming that the whole fiasco was a result of an unfortunate mistake in loosely interpreting the fatwa from Arabic. Regardless, given the fact that the scholars who preside at Diyanet are well versed with the Arabic language, it is thus unheard of that such trite mistakes ever occur at this level . This response seemed to have just been a flimsy excuse to try to get out of their blunder. Source. theoswatch.com › new-islamic-fatwa |
Back in the 1940s people were sleeping on average just a little bit over eight hours a night, and now in the modern age we’re down to around 6.7, 6.8 hours a night,” says Matt Walker, professor of neuroscience and psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. “So that’s a staggering loss of sleep within the space of just 70 years, we’re now almost at the stage where we’ve lopped off 20% of that.” For adults, the modern world is full of things which reduce sleep. Caffeine, which keeps us awake. Alcohol, which fragments our sleep and suppresses dreaming. And although we’ve improved the conditions for sleeping, with everything from better mattresses to smoke-free homes, our controlled environment may also have created problems, Walker says. “One, which people may find surprising, is central heating and central air conditioning. So, when the sun sets, temperature drops dramatically and when the sun rises it starts to pick back up. Our bodies expect that beautiful thermal lull. And what we have done is dislocate ourselves from the natural ebb and flow that tells us when it’s time to sleep and actually helps us get to sleep.” (Credit: Alamy) Alcohol, coffee and even air conditioning can affect how we sleep, Walker says (Credit: Alamy) And then there’s technology. No longer just artificial light, but all sorts of devices with LED screens, emitting a powerful form of blue light. “Now that blue light unfortunately will put the brakes on the release of a hormone called melatonin at night, and melatonin signals when you should sleep. “Technology also causes sleep procrastination. Midnight is the time when we think, well, we should probably send our last email, let me just check Facebook one more time. And to all this, we can add the modern offspring of the early rising movement – the economic and social pressure to work more, sleep less, and be more like some famous world leaders – including Donald Trump, Barack Obama and Margaret Thatcher – who have claimed to exist on five hours of sleep a night or less. The number of people who can survive on six hours of sleep or less and show no impairment is zero - Matt Walker But should we be aspiring to be more like George W. Bush, who reportedly went to bed around 9pm and got as much as nine hours sleep each night? “Based on probably about 10,000 research study papers now. The number of people who can survive on six hours of sleep or less and show no impairment, rounded to a whole number and expressed as a per cent, is zero.” Professor Walker says with anything less than seven hours’ sleep, we start to see health consequences. “Every major disease that is killing us in the developed world: Alzheimer’s, cancer, obesity, diabetes, anxiety, depression, suicidality. All of them have direct now and very strong causal links to deficient sleep.” This article is based on an interview from The Inquiry episode Have We Always Felt This Tired?, presented by James Fletcher and produced by Estelle Doyle and Sarah Shebbeare. |

A Pakistani judge has sentenced a man to be executed after he was expelled 17 times from 6 different mosques. The man was sentenced for excessive farting during the period of the Ramadan reports the Islamabad Herald this week. The Ramadan is the most important religious festival for Muslims and the judge declared that he had indisposed people of the faith and even caused 53 people at one time to leave the mosque during a prayer, a “blasphemous act” which should be punished “according to Allah’s will.” The judge was lenient, have admitted many experts in the region, as he gave the convicted man the choice of being beheaded or stoned to death. “The law is clear, he should be stoned to death, beheading is a very light sentence and saves him from any suffering,” protested the government prosecutor. Deputy District Public Prosecutor (DDPP) Syed Anees Shah told reporters the accused got a "very light sentence" for the crime of blasphemy. Muhammad Al-Wahabi, 33, suffers from chronic flatulence, “a rare medical condition” he argued in his self-defense, as no lawyer would take his case. “No lawyer is crazy enough to bet his career on this issue. If his client his condemned, as in this case, the lawyer would face prosecution and possibly the same faith as his client” admits legal expert Andrew Jones, a Middle Eastern law expert. Al-Wahabi did not contest the judgment and even said the judgment was fair and that he hoped Allah would be gracious enough to pardon his blasphemous actions. Al-Wahabi also admitted that he put a tampon in his rectum several times in a desperate attempt to mask the noise and odor. “A disgraceful and insidious act” the judge declared, visibly disgusted. “Muslims are not allowed to insert any objects inside their anus, not even a finger, it is forbidden by the Koran,” said the judge. “As a judge, I must set an example for other Muslims. This is clearly unacceptable under Shariah law,” he concluded. |

The police has revealed what killed Joy Odama, a 200-level mass communication student of the Cross River State University, who reportedly died in the house of one Alhaji Usman Adamu in Abuja. The police in a statement said Miss Odoma died of generator fumes. Recall that the deceased mother, Mrs Philomena Odama, had petitioned the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, over the murder of her first daughter, Joy. Reacting to the latest Police report that Odama died of generator fumes, the family flayed the Police authorities, saying the latter was being economical with the truth. It insisted that their daughter died of cocaine infusion as shown in the first autopsy report. President, Basic Rights Enlightenment Foundation, BREF, Augustine Okechukwu, reacting on behalf of the family, said: “We are not aware if the suspect is in police custody. “We doubt the claim by the Police that Alhaji Adamu is in its custody. Why can’t the police for once parade him for people to see?” On the autopsy result, he said: “I was there when the police conducted the second autopsy, but they refused to give us the final results when it came out.” |

President of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has expressed outrage at the removal of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) as a subject of study from the secondary school curriculum, describing it as a move by President Muhammadu Buhari to Islamise Nigeria. Recall that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) complained about the development during its meeting with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. In a statement issued on Sunday by Phrank Shaibu, spokesman of the church, Apostle Suleman, stated that the decision to scrap CRK as a subject in the curriculum but only to be studied as a theme in civic education while leaving Islamic/Arabic studies as a subject to be studied in the secondary school curriculum, is a deliberate plot by the Buhari administration, among other schemes, eliminate Christianity or at best reduce it to insignificance in Nigeria. “The new curriculum which is the brain-child of the Nigerian Educational Research Council and which is mischievously crafted to force Islamic Studies down the throat of non adherents is unjust, discriminatory, a subtle attempt at islamization, and therefore unacceptable,” the statement said. “This is a well orchestrated and articulated plot. Let nobody try to fool Nigerians that it was a mistake or a coincidence. Why is it that CRK would be removed as a subject to be studied from the secondary school curriculum while Islamic/Arabic studies is retained? This is a plan from hell and it shall not stand”, he declared. Apostle Suleman also noted that the policy has been introduced at a time when Fulani herdsmen are on rampage in parts of the country and just before so called Arewa youths gave Igbo people living in the North to quit before October 1. “Over 7000 people have been killed by these Fulani herdsmen with our security forces unable to stop the bloodshed. So called Arewa youths backed by some discredited elders have also issued a treasonable ultimatum to Igbo people without any reprisals from the Buhari government. So, is it a coincidence that Christian Religious Knowledge has been expunged from the school curriculum?” he queried. |
Billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike aka Evans, did not only go for rich victims, he also lived and operated in a class of his own. He was able to dodge the police dragnet for many years because he had the penchant for using luxury phones. A police source told New Telegraph yesterday that investigators had discovered, among Evans’ array of expensive phones, two Slim Vertu phones and a Thuraya. The first Vertu phone is said to worth N2.6 million, while the second is valued at N2.4 million. The Thuraya is also said to worth N800,000. According to the source, the Vertu and Thuraya phones made it impossible for the security agents to track him. Thuraya in particular uses satellite services. Another police source said that investigators had traced additional 36 phone lines to Evans, after earlier narrowing down to 126. This brings the suspect’s phone lines, which he used for operation, to 162. It was learnt that it took experts days before they could decode the workings of the suspect’s phones. But of all his lines, Evans, according to the source, had a dedicated line, which he used to call four persons said to be close to his heart. They are his friend, sister, mother and favourite mistress, Amaka. Amaka was the wife of one of Evans’ lieutenants. Another suspect, Nwosu Chikodi Chukwuma aka Skudo, told investigators that Evans murdered Amaka’s husband and turned the woman to his mistress. But when Evans was asked, he denied the allegation. Although he had four mistresses, Amaka, who already had children for her late husband, was the only mistress he calls on the dedicated phone line. Evans told police that the Thuraya phone was his preferred phone for usage during negotiations for ransom. Detectives revealed that the phone is the type used by the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau and other terrorists to evade tracking and arrest. A police source: “The Thuraya phone can’t be tracked. It can get signal anywhere, either under the sea or in the jungle. It works with satellite and it doesn’t make use of SIM card.” On Wednesday, the New Telegraph went Evans’ family home in Nnewi, Anabra State, where his mother, Mrs. Chinwe Onwuamadike, was said to be living. But her brother, Daniel Nwosu, claimed he did not know her whereabouts. But yesterday, a police source disclosed that they tracked Chinwe to Bayelsa State. The source noted that the woman bolted to Bayelsa State after hearing about the arrest of her son. As police continue to dig out Evans’ criminal activities, they have discovered that his wife, also from Anambra State, is a sister to a kidnap kingpin, who had been killed. It was learnt that rocket launchers were found in the said kidnapper’s home while Anambra State government also demolished his building. The officer in charge of the Inspector General of Police Special Response Team (IRT), Mr. Abba Kyari, who led in the hunt and arrest of Evans, said: “Evans almost got away with his crimes. No criminal has given me this kind of headache in my career. Not even the case of Godogodo or Vampire. I hardly sleep. Even when I’m in the toilet, I would be analysing over 100 numbers, checking out those he had conversations with. What we have gathered is like a book now. “But the case was a hard nut to crack until we found something interesting in one particular number. Out of the all the phone lines, it was the only number that he was using to communicate with family members in Nnewi. We followed up on that and he was nailed.” The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, before Evans’ arrest, had placed a N30 million bounty on him. According to him, the bounty placement was made on behalf of the IG, Ibrahim Idris. “We are encouraging Nigerians to blow the whistle on this kidnapper. Whoever blows the whistle that will lead to his arrest will get a N30 million reward, as stated by the Inspector- General of Police, Ibrahim Idris,” the commissioner had said. Yesterday, the New Telegraph made momoves to find out the person who will collect the bounty since Evans had been arrested. But the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Jimoh Moshood, denied knowledge of the bounty. He asked: “Where did you see that? I’m not aware of that announcement.” Pressed further, the FPRO said: “You need to find out which IG did that. BREAKING: Sick Buhari Weeps On London Hospital Bed, Reacts Bitterly To Saraki’s Shocking Victory At CCT, Writes Threat letter post-nigeria.com Jun 15, 2017 9:04 AM President Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to the resounding victory of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT. Buhari, who spoke through is his Special Assistant on Prosecution, Okoi Obono-Obla, was shocked that the CCT could dismiss the weight of “overwhelming evidence” against Saraki, who was tried for false assets declaration, by the Federal Government. Recall, that the two-man panel of the CCT, led by its Chairman, Danladi Umar, unanimously upheld the no-case submission filed by Saraki, after the prosecution closed its case with 48 exhibits tendered, and after the testimonies of the fourth and the last prosecution witness, on May 4, 2017. The CCT Chairman, Umar, in his lead ruling, exonerated Saraki of all the charges, among other grounds, the failure of the prosecution to obtain Saraki’s statement and make it part of the proof of evidence. He added that the evidence adduced by the prosecution, led by Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, was “so unreliable that no reasonable Tribunal could convict” anyone based on it. Also reacting, the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, PACAC, Itse Sagay, expressed shock at Saraki’s acquittal. Sagay said it was incredible Saraki got absolved, and therefore, advised the Federal Government to appeal the ruling. “I was shocked myself by the ruling. The amount of evidence amassed against him (Mr. Saraki) was considerable; so, I am surprised it was said no prima facie case had been made against him. It’s shocking, that’s all I can say.” “If you look at this case, the prosecution was much organised. Evidence was brought out very clearly. In fact, I would say mountains of evidence. So, nobody can blame poor prosecution in this case. So, what is the problem? A Nigerian factor? We don’t know”, said Sagay. |
Buhari, Show Yourself, If You Are Really Alive!!! Go Back And Rule Your Country – UK Demands hopefornigeriaonline.com Jun 15, 2017 11:27 AM health of President Muhammadu Buhari Joyce, who had insisted that Buhari was dead, has now challenged the Nigerian President to prove otherwise. health of President Muhammadu Buhari Writing on his website, he said: “Nigeria has an extremely capable Acting President, of course, but if Mr Buhari is declared dead or permanently incapacitated, then it will be the second time in succession that a Northern Muslim President has died, and been replaced by his Southern Christian Deputy. This is a challenge in a country whose democracy is based upon a complex balance of different regional and religious interests. “However, it is a challenge Nigeria is most certainly up to given the great success which was the peaceful handing over of power after the last election. “And so, a top tip for Nigerians. Insist that, like most democracies, it is a strict requirement of being President that your people know exactly what your physical condition is at all times. This practice is not historically confined to democracies, of course. Image result for health of President Muhammadu Buhari Kings of old, were routinely watched in their bedchambers; Queens were watched as they gave birth to heirs. This was all to ensure that things were as they seemed. Requiring a President to show he is capable of running his country, and is definitely not dead, is a simple and practical extension of this. |

3 women gang rape 23-year-old man several times in 3 days Three young women took turns raping a man over several days in South Africa, after they drugged him and held him against his will, say police. Detectives said the 23-year-old man was left severely traumatised after he was abducted from a taxi and gang raped for three days. He told police he lost consciousness after being injected with a substance and woke up in a room where he was raped several times a day. Police launched a hunt for the women and driver, and appealed for information after the man was freed by his captors. The man, from Pretoria, South Africa, told detectives that the women were inside the taxi, along with the driver, when he hailed it down on May 19. They were travelling towards the city’s central business district when the taxi changed direction, Colette Weilbach, police spokeswoman told Times Live. She said the man was ordered to sit in the front passenger seat, where one of the women injected him with a substance. The man passed out and was taken to an unknown location. “He stated that he woke up in an unfamiliar room on a single bed,” Weilbach said. “The female suspects then allegedly forced the man to drink an energy drink‚ before taking turns raping him numerous times a day.” She said the man went to police after he was dropped off in an open field in Benoni, about 30 miles south of central Pretoria, on May 22. He was “very traumatised” by the incident and received medical treatment. Weilbach promised a “robust” investigation, adding: “The South African Police Service take all sexual offences seriously regardless of gender.” |
