TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 4:14pm On Nov 29, 2016
Finally, my visa was approved this morning. it's been a rough one for me but God has been faithful. I got three denials mid this year for Fall session and it was like I wasn't gonna make it thru again. But I thank God, that I ade it thru this last attempt.

Here goes my transcript:

VO: How are you doing?
ME: I'm great sir and you?

VO: Can you tell me your study plans?
ME: I'm going to Valparaiso University to study a Master's degree in International Commerce and Policy for the period of 18month. I will be taking up courses like International Trade, International Business, Economics, New Venture Creation and International Relations. These courses will equip me with the right skill set to be able understand the application of Business with Trade, Economics, International Relations and Public Policy. *VO cuts*

VO: Tell me about the programme
Me: Like I earlier said, the course is for a period of 18 months and I will be taking the aforementioned courses and at graduation, I must meet up to 3.0cgpa and must have completed 25 credit hours. *VO cuts*

VO: How many schools did you choose?
ME: 2 and the other is George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.

VO: Why did you choose Valparaiso University?
ME: During my research on the course, I found out that Valpo happens to be one of the few skls around the globe that offers such course with robust combinations of course from 4 areas such as Trade, Economics, International Relations and Public Policy. And I am *VO cuts*

VO: What did you study in your UG?
ME: Business Administration.

VO: from what skl?
ME: Lagos State University, Lagos.

VO: Why do you like Unilag?
ME: * I became confused here and told him to repeat the question*

VO: Why do you like Unilag?
ME: You mean Unilag? *VO replied YES* I didn't attend unilag, I attended Lagos State University which is also called LASU. It's LASU not Unilag

VO: okay okay.

VO: Valparaiso University and George Mason University are top schools in the US, why didn't you choose them then instead going for University of Bridgeport?
ME: *The Question confuse me small but I just started saying anything* After the denials I got, I just realized a course that perfectly suits my interest and that is International Commerce and Policy(ICP) and the course has to do with the connection of business with economics, trade, international relations and public policy. More so, ICP is more of a concentration of MBA and So I just had to make the switch. And after the completion of my programme, I will return back home to work with the Bank of Industry and see to how I can formulate strategies to help startups, SMEs grow in Nigeria.

VO: *nodding his head. Bringing out the white paper* okay okay. Just keep your i-20 safe because you will be needing it at POE.
ME: *with so much excitement* thank you very much sir and God bless you.

Thanks to DeeTus and texrem and other gurus in the house for their contributions. God bless you all.

Alright boss
DeeTus:
Congrats. You qwere so on point. The VO knew that and so, didn't want to waste any time to approve your visa.

@Ecaay, note this method and you shall be successful.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 8:23am On Oct 14, 2016
That's not what I'm asking bruh! All I'm asking is if anyone has done before and can refer me. Simple!
TWoods:
www.google.com? If that doesn't work then try www.bing.com.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 7:54am On Oct 14, 2016
Please can anyone suggest to me where I can register for GRE at a reasonable price?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 12:28pm On Oct 13, 2016
Thanks so much. I'm even concerned about the SEVIS thing. I want to know if there's a way I can transfer it and file it for this new school that gave me admission or whether I should go pay another $200 for another SEVIS.
LagosismyHome:
no need to be in a fix ....if you really want to study the new course that fine. Just focus on how you can articulate your career goals and articulate why the switch . Do a transcript and give to some nairaland to give you feedback

i dont do transcript again only in special cases or those with multiple rejections ,,,,,,,, my hands are just too full with so many things
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 11:03am On Oct 13, 2016
Hmm! Just in a fix!
LagosismyHome:
The bold has nothing to do with why you were not given Visa ..... each school determine the admission criteria and not the VO . If you were given admission then you satisfied the above . ..What probably was lacking was you not able to demonstrate or articulate why you should be given visa so i agree with a previous comment . Changing school or course doesnt help , you need to work on my bold
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 10:11am On Oct 13, 2016
Yes. I applied for an MBA programme in UB for fall this year but after the appointments I had at the embassy and with the consultations I made, I found out that the course was really for those with atleast 2 or more years of working experience and my working experience isn't up to a year. And also I didn't write any standardised test too. These were the reasons behind the denial I suppose. Had to look into another school for a normal Master's programme and that was how I came about Valpo
happyday:
So, you've been admitted to Valpro for a new course?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 8:55am On Oct 13, 2016
I've posted it long before and was told to change the course
Songitto:
Changing school is not the solution to this.. , try and post your 2 previous visa interview here for gurus to evaluate if for you to know what's wrong..
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 10 by ecaaychukwu: 7:14am On Oct 13, 2016
Hello gurus in the house, pls i need some clarifications on this SEVIS fee thing. I applied to Uni Bridgeport early this year for fall and was given admission, so I paid for SEVIS fee and all, went to the embassy for interview twice and was denied. So I decided to give up and try look for another school. So I got admission in Valpo for Spring. My question is: Is there a way I can use that same SEVIS to file in for this new school that gave me admission?

Thanks.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by ecaaychukwu: 8:13pm On Jul 26, 2016
That was an eye-opener though. Thanks all the same. I'd like to have some private chat with you.
LagosismyHome:
Since it ur 3rd time the first two questions were key and u would have taken it and run with it . Stood out as intelligent to get the Vo attention. I would say especially since its MBA.... does business school people don't play. Very competitive and articulate. ..i didnt get that in ur answers and it would have been better to have received feedback after 1st interview if not u just keep going back saying the same things and accumulating rejection.

Next steps i am not sure ...... you can try again because if u want something u gat to chase it with all u have. But d next time u would need lots of prayers and better responses
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by ecaaychukwu: 7:17am On Jul 26, 2016
Wasn't feeling jittery in anyway because I've been there twice so going there the 3rd time gave me confidence.
zt:
I can imagine what how you feel. I am so sorry about that. It seems you answered your questions well.

You didn't tell us of your confidence level, remember it's key!!!
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by ecaaychukwu: 7:15am On Jul 26, 2016
THANKS ALOT
cosxzbay:
Reapply again. Your profile is good and aside your confidence level, I think from your transcript you didn't mention why you chose MBA and how it fits your career path. Maybe because tthe VO didn't directly ask you, but your strategy next time is to chip it in immediately you are asked about what course you re going to study.
Please don't give up.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by ecaaychukwu: 12:17am On Jul 26, 2016
Hmm...thanks for that
ormorteey:
The aim of the interview is to check you against section 215(b) and you must watch out for such questions and here is it in your own case,

VO: WHY DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE US?
ME: I'M GOING TO THE US FOR FURTHER STUDIES PRECISELY TO PURSUE AN MBA DEGREE WITH AN OPTION IN ACCOUNTING.

you could have nailed it. Check Oludare1 transcript how he described the new fund Nigeria government established and he connected why he was going to the US with something with high probability of bringing him back to Nigeria. Whenever you get such questions, it's your opportunity to nail the interview and receive the white paper.

I believe you will make it, reapply and refire.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by ecaaychukwu: 12:15am On Jul 26, 2016
Thanks
brightify:
well a winner never gives up,let other gurus look into this first....or better still you can defer it to spring
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by ecaaychukwu: 12:01am On Jul 26, 2016
Brotherly, I'm just confused and scared whether to reapply again or not because I'm loosing it already.
brightify:
with my little understanding I see nothing wrong with this transcript, and i actually do not know your level of confidence and how you responseded when answering the questuons.but my advice is to pray like ever before because you only need God intervention
