Sen. Ngige, Hon. Ekwunife, Rt. Hon. Okafor, Others In Awka as Johnbosco Onunkwo Premium Lawn Tennis Court is Commissioned

Last weekend marked another turning point in sports development in the annals of Anambra State as the ever blazing philanthropist and oil mogul, High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo was accompanied by His Excellency, the Hon. Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Dr. Chris Ngige, the distinguished Senator representing Anambra Central at the Red Chamber, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor and others for the commissioning of a Premium Lawn Tennis Court built by the Johnbosco Onunkwo Foundation at the City Sports Club, Amawbia/Awka.

Commissioning the gigantic contribution to sports development in Anambra State, the Hon. Minister commended the efforts of Engr. Onunkwo in the development of sports in Anambra State maintaining that the project will go a long way in reviving sports in the state.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Okafor described the project as a welcome development urging well meaning Ndi Anambra and politicians to look beyond political affiliations in contributing to the overall development of the state.

The benefactor in his remarks, expressed thanks to God for the opportunity to be contributing to the society. In his words, “The court is part of our commitment in encouraging sports development in the state. We can’t excel in sports if we don’t have enabling environment and available facilities for such, hence why my foundation deemed it imperative to start off with the construction of the Premium Court”. He equally averred that Sports Development is at the epicentre of his cardinal areas of development as he vies for the Governorship election come 2021. Engr. Onunkwo called on wealthy individuals in the state to invest in sports as a way of arresting youth unemployment.

In his reaction, the Chairman of the Club, Chief Emeka Obidike was full of appreciation to High Chief Onunkwo for what he termed an unprecedented benevolence. He prayed God to bless him abundantly.

Equally present at the epoch event include the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Chief Austin Ejidike, party stalwarts, members of City Sports Club and friends of the benefactor

It was a evening filled with fun and amazing moments as the year one students of Nnamdi azikiwe University awka (Unizik) where officially welcomed into school by the student Union Government via the Office of the Director of Social Comrade Obi Emmanuel (Oringo2020)

The Event Which was tagged Fresher’s Night 2020 had lot and lot of talent on displayed which includes dance comedy music and also saw the crowning of the Mr and Miss Fresher 2020…..

The Peak of the Night was when Respected Awka based Comedian Prince Neche welcomed the New Students with his Wonderful Lines for over 20minutes on stage followed by Hype Men Slimshady and Kamsi all Brought the Roof down while Dj hotswagg made sure that the Incoming students had a wonderful night with the sweet sounds……………

It was also recorded that it is the first time students will be walking home with amazing prizes from sponsors….

Maristella Okpala Relaunch Pet Project on Waste Management, Gives Scholarship and Cash Prize To Students in Ajegunle


Maristella Okpara has continued her impressive run of championing charitable projects across states in Nigeria. The former Miss earth Nigeria carried out yet another commendable project in Dreamstead school Ajegunle tagged "Pick that plastic and stay in school", distributing reading materials and paying off the ante natal bill of one of the pupil's parent.

Quizzed on her objective/goal for the project she said: "The goal of “Pick That Plastic & Stay In School” project is to support school kids and sensitize them on proper waste management and recycling. She successfully donated school bags, exercise books, recycle bins and paid the school fees of 20 kids. The Former Miss Earth Nigeria was privileged to pay the ante natal of one of the parents and also taught the kids good environmental habits and quizzed them with winners receiving cash rewards. Speaking to the Media, Maristella Okpara in her own words said that she is grateful for this rare opportunity to be able to give back and will want to specially thank everyone who supported in making this project a success . " I hope to do more by God’s grace and urge you to give in your little way to make the society a better place." she said


The project which took place on 30th December is her second project since her reign. Her compassion to give back to the society makes her standout as one of the most humanitarian queen to ever emerge from Nigeria.

High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo attended the Ofala Festival Of Ukpo Dumukofia, which was organised by Upko Community under the sponsorship of Prince Engr Arthur Eze at Dumukofia LG of Anambra State.

In recognition of his amazing support to humanity he was conferred by HRH Igwe Robert Eze as the Uchochinyere 1 of Ukpo during the 2019 Ukpo Offala festival

The Ugo is a magnificent and flamboyant bird: colorful, exciting and attractive. The Ugo has characteristics that endears it to all; it's an unusual bird, with traits everyone loves. Ugo is grace. It's an exceptional grace of God for one to be loved and admired by all and sundry.

Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo is a beautiful bride whom the grace of God has continued to shine in his life in numerous ways. He has reflected that grace by sharing the little he has with thousands of others in an extraordinary show of philanthropy and unconditional love for humanity.

The Ofala Festival is an annual ceremony practiced by Igbo people, particularly the indigenes of Onitsha, Umueri, Umuoji and other neighboring communities such as Aguleri, Nnewi and Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

Curtailing hazards involves both prevention techniques and having the necessary tools to battle these hazards when they occur. If most shops at Ochanja market had fire extinguishers, damage at the market during the fire outbreak in November would have been curtailed.

In other to forestall such occurrences as witnessed in Ochanja market, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo, donated thousands of fire extinguishers to the Onitsha traders to prepare them for any such occurrence in future.

Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo who is also a Health, Safety and Environment Expert harped on the need to prepare for emergencies at all time, urged the traders to maintain safety and health rules consistently as it's the best method to mitigate against disasters

Recall that Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo had previously donated N2m naira to the Ochanja Market Union to help them ameliorate their losses, yet thought it wise to provide safety tools in fire extinguishers in other to prevent future occurrence

The largest exporter of models in Africa Modelslink International held her 9th edition of one of Nigeria’s prestigious and biggest model show Best Model Nigeria 2019 at the Bespoke event centre Lekki on the 29th September, 2019.

It will be an evening to remember as winner`s of previous edition where on ground to witness the crowning of the new Queen.

The models whom have being in camp for days did not disappoint the audience as they appeared in five different costumes first of its kind in a modeling contest. In camp, the models paid a curtsey call to the Elejigbo of Langbasa His Royal Majesty Oba Hafeez Olakunle Badiru (KAJEROJAYE 1) In his palace where he admonish the models to be of good character and taken their education with seriousness because it the bedrock of human development.

To celebrate our African heritage, the models file out in different traditional costume in scintillating dance steps that kept the audience in standing ovation for the winner of the Best Traditional Costume Miss Vivian Ugoeze.


The highlight of the event was the crowning of Miss Gloria Kelechi Nwadike as winner Best Model Nigeria 2019,

•Family, Friends and Party Faithfuls Celebrate Johnbosco Onunkwo as he Turns 44•

Yesterday, the Chairman of Johnbosco Onunkwo Foundation and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State, High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Obinna Onunkwo (AkaekpuchiOnwa Umuchu) was celebrated by his friends and mother at a colourful, birthday party at Geneva Hotel, Awka.

Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo was on his way to Bayelsa State for the forthcoming Governorship election when his mother called him back. Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo rushed back, wondering why his mother had call him on emergency. When he got to Geneva Hotel, his mother blindfolded him and led him by the hand to the colourful event hall where everything had been set for a surprise birthday party.


The moment he got to the stage, the blindfold was removed from his eyes by his mother and the excitement and amazement on Johnbosco's face was very telling. He was surprised to see his friends from AGIP Company, Rotary Club, Port Harcourt, APC Stakeholders and members, friends from other political parties, Foundation members, siblings, and the general public.

Highlights of the event were cutting of cake and presentation of gifts by friends and well wishers.

*Onitsha Inferno: Engr. Onunkwo visits market, doles out 2.5m in support of fire victims*

Oil magnet and philanthropist, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo earlier today visited Ochanja market, Onitsha to identify and pledge support to the victims of the ill-fated disaster that maimed lives and destroyed goods worth millions of naira.

Engr. Onunkwo who in company of Big Brother Naija's Frodd toured the affected areas in market, expressed sadness over the disaster.

Describing Onitsha as the nerve center of business in Nigeria, the APC Party stalwart advised the traders to imbibe core values of Health, Safety and Environment(HSE) in their enterprise.

In his words, "Every union in this market should always imbibe HSE as a culture. Every month, you engage in Fire drill and equally make sure the environment is neat. Our people should equally imbibe preventive and predictive maintenance. We shouldn't do more of correction maintenance but the aforementioned.

"We are not just here to sympathize with you all but also preach HSE as a core value to forestall future reoccurrence".

The Oil and Gas Safety expert equally called on the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to be alive in their duties stressing that most of the trucks and trailers ply the roads at nights with just one headlight.

"The Road safety corps should look inwards. All these trailers carrying inflammable materials should operate at 100% road worthiness", he stated.

The humanitarian on behalf of his foundation, the Johnbosco Onunkwo Foundation donated the sum of two million naira to the traders and equally promised to assist in renovating the affected plazas.

Engr. Onunkwo also visited the hospitalized victims at Toronto hospital where he donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira for their treatment and upkeep.

In his emotion laden remark, the coordinator of Emordi Shoes and Bags Dealers Association, Mr. Cosmas Chinedu appreciated Engr. Onunkwo for his benevolence while calling on other well meaning individuals to come to their aid and help them get back on their feet.

It usually holds in the month of September when our children are resuming school for a new session/term.

This term, unlike other terms usually poses an economic burden to our parents, and thus the society at large, as they tend to pay/ purchase new materials necessary for beginning a new class, viz-a-viz -school uniform, socks and sandals, school bags, textbooks, writing materials, and above all pay school fees.

The aim of PROJECT BACK TO SCHOOL therefore, is to provide some of these materials for our children as they resume a new session, and consequently reduce the economic burden of resuming a new session on the parents.

In this year’s project, the foundation under the sole sponsorship of the founder, High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo provided the pupils of Orumba North and South with School bags, socks, exercise books, maths set, text books etc. This exercise will be rounded of next week with the payment of school fees for those who are less privileged and indigent to do so.

As the founder fondly says, ” it is imperative that the society takes the children’s education as utmost priority because, INVESTMENT IN CHILDREN’S EDUCATION REMAINS THE GREATEST INVESTMENT OF ANY GIVEN NATION.”

The pupils and teachers of the various schools visited were filled with joy and expressed their gratitude to the foundation for the kind gesture
