RMoneyInTheBank:
..only men? What about a woman who can control his passions and emotions ?

"Man" can be used to represent both the male and the female folk. Just like "mankind".

In the Christian Bible, God created " MAN" in his image and likeness. Why doesn't it say, " God created man and woman in his image and likeness.

"Man" can be used to generalize the human specie. Only feminists think otherwise.

Desire is the doom of man, a man who can control his passions and emotions will rule his life. I wish I learnt this earlier. Though better late than never.

Gross, hope we don't copy this one too.. The world has gone haywire; just like witches in "Macbeth" use to chant, "fair is foul and foul is fair". This is the sad story of the world we live in.

If this is a poem, the author's diction is awful.
How can a poet not know how to use the present continuous and the past tense of the verb "BE" correctly.

Family / Re: When Will A Man Enjoy In This Life? by Ecbatana: 2:13pm On Mar 14, 2021
Depends on what you call enjoyment. For what is food to one is poison to another.

Enjoyment should not be seen in terms of material pleasures and acquisition. To buttress this, let me tell u a story.

The first place I worked after I graduated was in a school, a private one at that. The salary was meagre and wasn't paid as and when due. The teachers worked grudgingly and some had to quit.

As for me I never complained, I always looked forward to meeting my students the next day. The job gave a sense of responsibility and the fulfillment I derived from it was second to none. I was determined to seeing my students progress and make distinctions in the subjects I was assigned to teach.

The first set of SS3 students that I taught passed their SSCE examination overwhelmingly in the subjects I taught them. The least with a "C4".

I left the schools few years later and set up a business which is presently doing quite well with a staff strength of five (5) personnel. And the least of them earns 15K monthly more than I was earning as a teacher.

Today I'm self sufficient but I miss gravely, my teaching job because of the fulfillment I derived from guiding and making an impact in the lives of those young ones. In a nutshell the teaching job gave me a lot of pleasure and enjoyment.

One of my former students had to post this on my Facebook wall...

Do not bother little one!
Time comes and goes,
Seasons come and go,
And so shall all of us.

Imagine yourself laid out on the floor, lifeless and a white covering over you, imagine the tears of your loved ones, imagine the many eyes on your coffin, imagine the grave diggers digging your grave.

You'd realise that life is nothing but "dust in the wind". It's there one minute and the next it's gone.

We can all see that it isn't media propaganda afterall: the atrocities of the herdsmen.

An uprising has begun in the hearts of many against this government. How long before it starts to manifest in reality.

For a northern Muslim woman to abandon her man, not just any man but the number 1 citizen the country; something is definitely not right.

If the tenets of Islam couldn't keep her, if the overbearing northerners couldn't cajole her to stay and if the glamour and glitz of being the first lady couldn't entice her: then, there's nothing anyone can do to make her stay.

Do not shrink yourself to fit into a place you've outgrown. Always aim for the heights and don't despair or relent in your quest for greatness.

Greatness comes with a price and to attain it, one needs to imbibe a high level of self control and discipline over the hedonistic nature.

People ought to learn to give life; not destroy it. Taking care of nature is a great service to mankind and the universe as a whole. In fact, for every one tree we cut down, we should plant two.

The audacity with which the Fulanis commit atrocities all over the country is disturbing. Two weeks ago, an old farmer harvested his soya beans and gathered it into a big pile. He decided to go hire a pick up or truck that will convey it to the threshing ground. On his return to the farm several hours later, a Fulani boy was grazing his herd on the soya beans. He confronted the boy and threatened to deal with him. The boy stood his ground and dared the old man to touch him, he also let him know they have AK47 at home before disembarking with his cattle.

The Fulanis are radical barbarians. The saddest part is that they have the backing of the government of the day.

Sports / Re: Betting Is A Curse! Stop. by Ecbatana: 1:28am On Jan 23, 2021
You went into betting with the mindset to get rich from it and now it has almost ruined you. Gambling is not for the poor, it is for the working class, the middle class and the rich. Britain's backbone today is gambling. Why do you think they are the only people that control pool betting. Bookmakers and betting companies invest a lot of money. How do you think they make profit. Betting companies even have their adverts on many team jerseys. The biggest mistake you can make is to bet everyday. That is why when you walk into any bet shop, you'd see that there are those to whom it has become a full-time office. I only place bets on weekend matches. Let me not forget to add that betting is one of the major employers of labour and it's legal. Above all, do not bet with sentiment but with logic.

Verdict: big teams will always lose to small teams, there will always be match fixing whether with VAR or not else football is dead.

Listen to Kenny Rogers "the gambler" and learn. Play with what you can part with. Wise bettors can stake on just one match. Bet companies and promoters feed on your greed. The greedier you are, the more your chances of losing. The best options to pick at the moment are;

(A) half time over 0.5 or under 1.5
(B) the weaker team to score

NB: with the coroner virus pandemic, there is no more money from ticket sales but I can assure you that they are making more money than ever before. That is why the big teams will continue to fumble and the wise will keep cashing out.

While academic intelligence might fetch us good grades in school, makes us speak polished English, social and moral intelligence keeps us in line with the societal ethos, norms and the values. It also incorporates social etiquettes; knowing what to say, when to say, and how to say them. This eventually harmonises peaceful coexistences BTW people.

Having enormous of one intelligence at the expense of the other becomes a deficiency.

You simply doesn't know how to talk.

Thank you for your observation. You see, what the OP posted is her own account of the problem. As learned as you are, why have you not asked for her husband's side of the story?
If you were a judge, you would have probably passed judgement based on her one sided account.

She brought her problem to a public forum. It is not my duty to please you or her with my choice of words.
