Thank you for making out time to view my thread. I'm hoping I can get an advice from you.

I'm a 26 Years. I work in a company that pays me 85K NGN monthly.

The salary isn't paying my bills in any way, the company isn't productive, I feel stuck and limited each time I go to work. Also, the environment is toxic with gossips, cold wars, etc.

I've been applying for jobs elsewhere but I keep getting rejected. I've adjusted my CV several times but still the same.

I'm considering resigning even though I don't have another job offer yet but I fear my debts. I have some side hustles I use to support my monthly earnings but I fear it may not be enough to pay my debts monthly and fend for myself, siblings, and family generally.

The whole thing is making me lack motivation but I still try to be up for my family.

I want to travel out of the country and search for better opportunities but my resources are limited at the moment.

I have some skillsets, I'm considering venturing into entrepreneurship but I don't have the required capital to get started

I don't know what to do.

Laura Lyons, a private investigator who specialises in tracking down online romance fraudsters, otherwise known as "catfish" has unmasked a Nigerian fraudster.





According to BBC, Laura Lyons posed as Kathryn Hunter - a wealthy divorcee looking for love. According to her: “It's not long before the catfish begin to bite. Four men approach me online and they all claim to be US soldiers. .



One of the soldiers, who calls himself Paul Richard, comes on strong. The number he rings from has a Nigerian dialling code. After a brief silence, a man with a thick African accent comes on the line. .



He doesn't sound like the American soldier whose picture he is using. But Paul explains away his accent by saying he has a cold. An online reverse image search leads me to the Instagram page of the real owner of the pictures the catfish was using.



For the next few weeks, my producer continues to speak to Richard on the phone as I listen in. Then our catfish makes a mistake. Richard accidentally leaves a name tag - Dan Coolman - on one of his WhatsApp pictures. .



We search through all the Dan Coolmans in Nigeria and we find one who runs a barbershop in Ibadan. He's using the same number that our catfish has been calling us from.



Coolman is another false name, but we discover the phone is registered to Daniel Joseph Okechkwu. We have finally uncovered the real identity of our catfish. We head for Ibadan, but by the time we get there he's gone.



The doors to the barber shop are locked and locals say it's been closed for weeks. We decide to call him and tell him who we really are. He confesses and claims it's the first romance scam he's ever pulled and that he has been forced to do it because of the closure of his barber shop.



He sounds sincere and he apologises for the way he has treated us. He says he wants to stop being a romance fraudster. But he needs us to give him money, so that he can afford to stop tricking other people out of their cash. It's a classic catfish twist. They never give up on the scam even when they have been rumbled.“

Bill Gates, a co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), says the world still does not have enough data to understand why COVID-19 numbers have not been as high as predicted in Africa.

The American philanthropist who invests heavily in healthcare in Africa said he is, however, happy to have been wrong about COVID-19 rates in Africa.

“One thing I’m happy to have been wrong about—at least, I hope I was wrong—is my fear that COVID-19 would run rampant in low-income countries,” he wrote in his end of the year note.

Bill Gates had warned early 2020 that Africa could be the worse hit by COVID-19, stating at a conference that the virus would overwhelm health systems in the world’s poorest continent.

Melinda Gates, also a co-chair at BMGF, said the developing world will be hard-hit, she added that she foresees bodies lying around in the street of African countries.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch its first passenger car in 2024, using its own battery technology to "radically" reduce the price of EV batteries.
According to a new report from Reuters, Apple aims to launch an autonomous vehicle by 2024.

One person who once worked on Project Titan said “If there is one company on the planet that has the resources to do that, it’s probably Apple. But at the same time, it’s not a cellphone,”.

An automotive supply chain is not as simple, even for a company like Apple. Therefore, the company may end up developing an autonomous driving system that would then be outfitted into partner vehicles. It’s still not clear whether an Apple-branded vehicle would exist or whether the system would simply carry the Apple logo.

A new battery technology called “nanocell” would power these vehicles, the new batteries would take up less space, and the chemical makeup is different as well. Apple is reportedly looking into LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) which would be less susceptible to overheating vs. lithium-ion batteries. The new batteries would also potentially offer longer range for these vehicles.

The report mentions that Apple aims to have a product ready for 2024, but the current health crisis has a potential to put the project into delays. Again, whether that’s an Apple-branded car or a system on an existing vehicle brand (or new sub-brand perhaps?) is yet to be known. Apple declined to comment on its plans and future products.

According to sources from the European Union, she emerged victorious in the contest over her South Korean rival Ms Yoo Myung-hee, by a wide margin.

Okonjo-Iweala’s victory is expected to be announced formally by the WTO later today.

Stripe is acquiring Paystack, a startup out of Lagos, Nigeria that, like Stripe, provides a quick way to integrate payments services into an online or offline transaction by way of an API.

Paystack currently has around 60,000 customers, including small businesses, larger corporates, fintechs, educational institutions, and online betting companies, and the plan will be for it to continue operating independently, the companies said.

Terms of the deal are not being disclosed but sources close to it confirm that it’s over $200 million. That makes this the biggest startup acquisition to date to come out of Nigeria, as well as Stripe’s biggest acquisition to date anywhere. (Sendwave, acquired by WorldRemit in a $500 million deal in August, is based out of Kenya.)

It’s also a notable shift in Stripe’s strategy as it continues to mature: typically, it has only acquired smaller companies to expand its technology stack, rather than its global footprint.

Sony finally unveiled the PS5 price and release date during its PS5 event on September 16. We now know the PS5 is $499.99 / £449.99 / AU$749.95 and the PS5 Digital Edition is $399.99 / £359.99 / AU$599.95.

Both consoles will release on November 12 in the US, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. But won't release until November 19 for the rest of the world.

Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset on Tuesday (Sept. 15) after being married for three years, according to the Fulton County Magistrate in Georgia.

The filing on Fulton County website spells out Cardi B and Offset's real names in the contested divorce case titled "Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar vs. Kiari Kendrell Cephus." The court documents obtained by Billboard indicate that Cardi is asking the court to award her primarily legal and physical custody of their child. Their hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 10 a.m.

The iPhone maker’s stock briefly hit the $2 trillion mark Wednesday. Shares have surged almost 60% this year and are at an all-time high. Apple (AAPL), currently trading at nearly $470 a share, is about to become more affordable for average investors to purchase, too.

The company’s stock will split four-for-one at the end of the month, which will cut the price of a single share to about $117. The value of Apple remains the same since the company will simply have more shares trading at a lower price.

Tesla (TSLA) also recently announced a stock split, a move that could attract more millennial and Gen Z investors.

Apple reached the $2 trillion mark just over two years after passing the $1 trillion level.

It’s not the first company in the world to be valued that high. Saudi Aramco topped that mark in December when it went public, but plunging oil prices have hurt the company’s stock. Apple passed Saudi Aramco earlier this month after reporting strong earnings.

Two other US tech giants, Amazon (AMZN) and Microsoft (MSFT) are moving closer to the $2 trillion mark too. Both are valued at about $1.6 trillion. Google owner Alphabet (GOOGL) is also worth more than $1 trillion.

Apple’s success has also vaulted CEO Tim Cook into the ranks of billionaires, one of the few CEOs to reach that level without having started the company he leads.

The market has brushed aside concerns that lawmakers have about the clout of Apple and other large tech giants, as well as worries about how some of President Trump’s immigration policies will hurt Apple and other major tech companies.

Investors are in love with Apple due to surging sales for subscription services like Apple Music, iCloud, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. There is also growing excitement about the impending launch of the iPhone 12, which is expected to have 5G connectivity.

Apple and other top techs for that matter are also holding up much better than many other companies during the global recession that has been brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
