INEC requires candidates to declare their educational history under oath in Form CF001. False information in that document can become grounds for disqualification petitions or legal challenges after elections, based on Section 182 of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act.

NSCDC Cracks Down on Misconduct: 37 Officers Dismissed, 79 Sanctioned in Accountability Drive

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has taken decisive disciplinary action against 79 personnel for breaches of service rules, as part of a bold push to restore professionalism and public confidence.

The Commandant-General, Professor Ahmed Audi, announced the sanctions on Wednesday at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja. He was represented by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi.

*Key Actions Taken*
According to the CG, disciplinary proceedings for 75 personnel have been concluded, while 4 others remain under administrative review.

The sanctioned officers include:
- *1 Assistant Commandant-General*
- *2 Deputy Commandants*
- *35 Senior Officers*

Penalties issued range from *dismissal and compulsory retirement* to *dismissal with recommendations for criminal prosecution* where applicable.

Northern Nigeria Faces 50 Years of Recovery If Country Divides, IMAM Warns


In this viral video, a northern IMAM addressed the potential division of Nigeria. He argued that while Biafrans and Yorubas would not suffer if Nigeria were divided today, the northern region would face severe hardship and require 50 years to recover. He criticized northern leaders for creating poverty and insecurity, and dismissed expectations of improvement by 2026/2027, citing the continued presence of groups like Boko Haram, Lakurawa, ISWAP, bandits, and kidnappers despite resources provided under former President Buhari.


Speaking in the video, he said;


"If they divide Nigeria today, the Biafrans will not suffer.
Likewise the Yorubas will not suffer but I assure you that we the northern people will suffer and before we get ourselves it will take us from one to 50 years at this era."

"A northern person, a northern citizen still believe that the northern leaders will change the north. This twenty twenty six slash twenty seven you are expecting the northern leaders have good things in store for us."

"Everything that is happening in the north today is the northern leaders. The creation of poverty, extremely high in number of insecurity, sufferness, and many more."

"They said they are, they are going to bring security to the north but what we get today is insecurity. President Buhari gave them everything to remodernize and to arrange the north but all we get from them is Boko Haram, Lakurawa, Isis, ISwaps, bandit, kidnappers. And you are expecting Northern Nigeria to be great in two years? No, never."



For me..... It might take a century

One of the biggest failures of our education system is that we have convinced society that intelligence is more important than character.

I have never seen a child sent to prison because he scored F9 in Mathematics or dragged to court for failing English Language.

But I have seen children grow into adults who ended up in prison because of bad behaviour.
Because they lacked discipline.
Because they could not control anger.
Because they had no empathy.
Because greed consumed them.
Because nobody truly developed their character.

Yet, every day, we terrorize children over grades as if exam scores are the final measurement of human success.

A child comes home with low marks and the entire house becomes tense.
Parents panic.
Teachers threaten.
Society mocks.

But when that same child lies, bullies others, cheats, lacks compassion, disrespects people, or shows signs of dangerous behaviour, many people ignore it because “at least he is doing well academically.”

That is the tragedy.
Education was never supposed to be only about IQ.

True education has always stood on three pillars:
Character.
Discipline.
Learning.

And somehow, we abandoned the first two and became obsessed with only the last one.

We are producing brilliant minds with broken values.
People who can solve equations but cannot manage emotions.
People who can build apps but cannot build integrity.
People with degrees but without conscience.
And then we act surprised when corruption destroys a nation.

Corruption is not an academic failure.
It is a character failure.

A country does not collapse because people cannot calculate.

A country collapses when people entrusted with power have no discipline, no empathy, no moral foundation, and no fear of destroying the future of innocent people.

Some of the most dangerous people in society are highly educated.

That should force us to reflect deeply.

Maybe our schools should spend more time teaching emotional intelligence.
Teaching empathy.
Teaching self-control.
Teaching honesty.
Teaching dignity of labor.
Teaching integrity even when nobody is watching.

Because the child who learns discipline may survive failure.
But the child who learns only how to pass exams may someday become successful without values and that is dangerous for any society.

The painful truth is this:
A nation can recover from poor grades.

But recovering from a generation raised without character may take decades.

We must stop raising children only to pass exams.

We must start raising human beings.

2. You attack people who speak truth

My advice to youths and aides around politicians:

1. Let your skill pay part of your bill
Don’t make politics 100% of your income. Learn a trade. Get a job. Run a small business. When politics is only 40% of your bill, you can afford to say “Oga, this is wrong” without fear. Financial independence = voice independence.

2. Know what you will not do for money
Draw your line before the money comes. “I will mobilize, I will campaign, but I will not lie. I will not insult elders. I will not defend bloodshed.” Write it down. When the offer comes, your past self will save your future self.

3. Serve principles, not stomach
Serve the leader, yes. But serve the vision more. If the leader leaves the vision, you must choose. A man who only serves stomach will be dumped when the stomach of another person becomes bigger. But a man who serves principle will always be relevant, even out of power.

4. Remember: Money can pay bills, but only character builds future
The alert will finish. The contract will end. The government will change. But the kind of person you became while the money was flowing — that one follows you for life. Don’t sell your name for monthly upkeep.

To politicians too:
If everyone around you only says “yes sir,” check your pocket. You may be paying people to kill truth for you. A leader who kills truth will one day be killed by lies. Surround yourself with people whose bills don’t depend 100% on you. They will tell you when the ship is sinking.

Politics should be service, not slavery.
When politics pays your bill, guard your conscience jealously. Because the day truth becomes your enemy, your destiny also becomes your enemy.

WANTED SOLDIER OF NIGERIAN ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS OVER ALLEGED ILLEGAL SUPPLY OF MILITARY UNIFORMS


The Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared one of its personnel, Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu, wanted over his alleged involvement in the illegal sale and supply of military uniforms to terrorists and other criminal elements.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the soldier, who was serving at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, absconded from his unit on 3 June 2026. Consequently, he has been declared wanted by the appropriate military authorities, while intensive efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him to face a full investigation and appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with extant military laws.

The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps wishes to state unequivocally that it has zero tolerance for misconduct, indiscipline, or any act capable of compromising the operational effectiveness, integrity and reputation of the Nigerian Army or threatening national security. Any personnel found to have aided terrorists, criminals or other non-state actors through the unauthorized sale, diversion or distribution of military uniforms, accoutrements or other controlled items will be subjected to the full weight of military and civil laws.

The Corps therefore appeals to members of the public to support ongoing efforts by providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of the wanted soldier. Such information should be reported immediately to the nearest military formation or any security agency.

The Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps reassures Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to accountability, professionalism and the protection of military assets. The Corps will continue to strengthen internal control measures and ensure that every allegation of misconduct is thoroughly investigated while those found culpable are held fully accountable.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES EXPANSION OF NIGERIAN ARMY TO 12 DIVISIONS, RECRUITMENT OF 28,000 PERSONNEL TO STRENGTHEN NATIONAL SECURITY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the expansion of the Nigerian Army’s structure from eight to twelve divisions—a landmark move to enhance the country’s security architecture and improve the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Army.

This approval underscores the President’s unwavering commitment to equipping the Armed Forces to address Nigeria’s evolving security challenges effectively and to strengthen national defence capabilities further.

The expansion builds on the Administration’s sustained investments in the Armed Forces, including approval for the recruitment of 28,000 additional personnel, acquisition of critical military platforms and equipment, improvements in troop welfare, and ongoing support for operational readiness and force modernisation.

Under the new structure, the Nigerian Army will operate twelve divisions, strategically positioned across the country as follows:

1. 1 Division Headquarters – Kaduna (Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States)
2. 2 Division Headquarters – Ibadan (Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo States)
3. 3 Division Headquarters – Jos (Plateau, Bauchi and Gombe States)
4. 5 Division Headquarters – Makurdi (Benue, Nasarawa and Kogi States)

The establishment of the new Divisions in Makurdi, Ilorin, Jalingo and Benin City will significantly improve command and control, decentralise operational decision-making, strengthen border security, enhance the protection of critical national infrastructure, improve counter-insurgency and internal security operations, and ensure faster military response to emerging threats nationwide.

Implementation of the new force structure will be done in two phases. The first phase, covering the establishment of the 5, 9, and 10 Divisions and the reorganisation of existing formations, will be completed by September 2026. The second phase, involving the establishment of the 83 Division and further reorganisation, is expected to be completed by December 2026.

President Tinubu commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Ibrahim Shuaibu, and all officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for their dedication, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The President reaffirmed his Administration’s determination to continue investing in the Armed Forces, ensuring they remain adequately equipped, highly motivated, and fully capable of protecting the nation and guaranteeing the safety and security of all Nigerians.

NAFDAC Commences Nationwide Mop-Up of Banned Sachet Alcohol and Sub-200ml PET Bottles

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has commenced a nationwide enforcement operation to remove alcoholic beverages packaged in sachets and PET bottles below 200ml from circulation.

In January, NAFDAC said its enforcement of the ban on alcoholic beverages in sachets and small plastic or glass bottles was aimed at protecting children and young people, not punishing manufacturers.

Mojisola Adeyeye, NAFDAC director-general, said in a statement that the policy was driven by public health concerns and growing evidence that alcohol packaged in sachets and containers below 200 millilitres has contributed to underage drinking across the country.

In an X post on Wednesday, NAFDAC said the mop-up operation is in line with the federal government’s ban on the production, importation, distribution, sale, and use of such products.

The agency said the exercise is being carried out across the six geopolitical zones, noting that it follows the closure of non-compliant manufacturing facilities and is part of NAFDAC’s ongoing efforts to protect public health.

According to NAFDAC, its enforcement teams are conducting coordinated operations in markets, motor parks, retail outlets, bars, and other distribution channels to identify, seize, and remove banned products from circulation.

“Manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, transporters, and other stakeholders are advised to immediately surrender any remaining stock, as continued possession or sale of the banned products constitutes a violation of the law and may attract seizure, regulatory sanctions, and prosecution,” the agency said.

The enforcement exercise is aimed at reducing underage drinking, harmful alcohol consumption, and substance abuse, particularly among children and young people.

“The agency urges members of the public to support the exercise by refraining from purchasing banned products and reporting anyone producing, distributing, or selling them to the nearest NAFDAC office.”
