Health › Federal Government And May And Baker Partner On NIPRISAN by eddyline(op): 2:36pm On Jun 02, 2017 |
The National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Development and May and Baker Pharmaceutical Company will finalize arrangements on the 23rd of February for the sickle cell drug Niprisan, to be produced and marketed by the pharmaceutical firm The Director-General of the institute, Prof. Karniyus Gamaniel, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday that NIPRD would sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the company to grant it licence to produce and market the drug. Prof. Gamaniel said that the partnership with the company would advance the current capacity of the institute to produce the drug as it could only produce one-third of the quantity needed by the consumers. According to him, the agreement will prevent private distributors from putting a high price on the drug which will make it difficult for sickle cell sufferers to access it. He said: “The licence to produce and distribute the drug was previously withdrawn from a pharmaceutical company, but now the Federal Government needs to re-commercialise it. “Government is making efforts to do this because NIPRD does not have the full production capacity to produce Niprisan to adequately reach all those that need the drug. He said the institute had continued to collaborate with Non-Governmental Organisations to help identify those with sickle cell anaemia and ensure they had access to the drug. The director general said the drug was currently being sold by the institute for N3,000. In 2015 the Federal Government stopped the commercialisation of the drug because of the prohibitive cost and withdrew the licence it granted a company to commercialise it because of the high cost of its product http://thepharmacywatch.com/finally-federal-government-and-may-and-baker-partner-on-sickle-cell-niprisan/ |

Politics › Re: Wheelbarrow: David Mark Mocks Ortom; Ortom Says He's Jealous Of His Achievement by eddyline(m): 9:30am On May 25, 2017 |
azimibraun: Anybody condemning the distribution of Wheelbarrows in Benue is either ignorant or just mischievous and wicked. I was born in Benue and I grew up in Benue. From markurdi the state capital to any other corner of Benue state the usefulness of wheelbarrows cannot be over emphasised. This singular action should be used to teach our children in schools on the need for various state government to prioritise their peoples need. An agrarian state. A state with rich history, present and future tied to farming and somebody say Wheelbarrows are not Key to people of that state? Common!!! In the 80s and even up till the millennium, wheelbarrows are seen in motor parks in Markurdi ready to convey peoples loads as the they come of the Taxis in which they travelled in the whole of Benue. Wheelbarrows are a classic part of the Benue story and history and for no amount of mockery should any Benue indegien or one who was born and grew up in Benue be ashamed of wheelbarrows. I expected the BNSG to beat it's chest in pride and buy more to help the Benue people. I am not from Benue but Benue gave me the honour and privilege to be born in Makurdi as approved by God and I had a great childhood. Once a wheelbarrow with load takes a turn around the corner and into any street, kids begin to look out for their mothers returning from a trip or the market in excitement. Shame on people from Benue pretending not to know the history of Benue and wheelbarrows. Country of fake life and pretence. Has any one of you gone out to get the market price for a single wheelbarrow lately? Talk is cheap. Bro, I hope you are just being sarcastic. |

AreaFada2: Thiat is Gaboon Viper (Bitis gabonica) right there. I hope they did not kill it believing it was a non-venomous python.
A very DEADLY snake. Poisonous like mad. Not because the venom is so toxic but because it injects lots of venom when it bites. For large grown ones one-thousand of the amount it can inject biting once is enough to kill a human being.
But is rather slow & less aggressive compared to other fellow African vipers like puff adder. the name viper alone sends chills down my spine. I fear these snakes like mad. thanks for the info |
