myrao: conserve this keep that! ..we should stop deceiving ourselves...most of us have this mentality whatsoever that these animals descend from the sky....even wit all the conservations the Europeans practice... they still export their animal products... and are the highest exporters of groceries You may be right about Europeans killing wild animals but the fact remains that you don't just kill indiscriminately. You need to have a license before you can kill a wild animal. Even the conservationist do kill animals to balance the habitat. But it must be necessary. |

They are all supposed to be jailed for killing the animal without government permission.
I don't know what happened to wildlife, aquatic and forest laws in this country. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: A Painful Lesson I Learnt From An Access Bank Interview For A Marketing Job by edey2real: 10:08pm On Jul 27, 2015 |
Charism: I was in for the final stage of interview @ Access bank for the job of a graduate sales rep today. Got into the office and was asked the usual - 'tell me about yourself' and 'why do you want to work for us' question. I answered them and the man seemed impressed by my answers.
But then.. He interrupted me and asked me:
if you were to be handed your employment letter today, how would you generate 500 accounts for us in one month?
I wasn't expecting the question, but then I told him that I would go to potential market places like universitys- during 100 level registration, industrail centers. He wasn't impressed and he pressed me for more answers.(Am interested in more answers to the question) I told me that I had no banking and marketing experience. He replied me saying that I didn't need experience to answer the question and that I obviously didn't have any interest on the job plus a cold - "have a nice day". I felt hurt. I might be called to pick my employment letter, I might not be called.
A flash back on the interview made me understand that he wanted an unusual answer that would get his attention. If I had done a lot of online research I probably would have walked out of that office smiling.
The lesson I learnt which other graduates should learn from is this: do a proper research on the job you applied for, how its done, how the company does it, her policy on it everything. Know about that job as if you've already started work there. Ask questions about the job, from those who have the work experience.
Thanks. Check www.best-job-interview.comYou will get everything you need about an interview. |

HayTeeHem: Hum...iv been monitoring this thread sha. I'll be rounding up my m.sc this year 'by God's grace' but the fear of siting at home again doin virtually nothing bothers me...Do you think I should give this opportunity a trial? happy Sunday y'all Firstly, congrats on your achievements. Getting a job is not easy as we all know but with your M.sc it should be easier than a First degree holder. This company in question does not recognize the certificates that one has and they make it clear in their advert that an NCE holder can apply. Meaning you will be placed on the same salary scale as with NCE, OND, HND or Bsc. Though, there are some people in the company who also have M.sc and are agents as well. But most of them got the Degree while working there (most people use the job to run their M.sc program). Though it has not been easy for the people who are doing it but they have been able to add to their certificates. The bottom line is that if you know you will be able to cope with been placed on the same salary scale with lower degree holders without any special treatment or recognition, you can take the job. And just have it in mind that you want to do it so as to get job experience. The truth is that, a BPO is not a place one should plan to have a career. Even the people that started the BPO business made it for people who just want to work for some months and move on. i.e just to gather something for some time. I wish you the best and God's guidance. |

Sowl: Yea it did to an extent but would like u to share more as long as it doesn't make u uncomfortable.... Which of there office in Ibadan were u posted. Okay. I am talking about the company that is handling the call centre which is Ison BPO and not the recruiting firm that you guys know in Challenge. They have just one office in Ibadan and it's in Dugbe, close to CBN. The office is been used for the Airtel call centre and it can't be used for the Mtn call centre which they are recruiting for now. This means that they will have another office for Mtn CC which I don't know where it is. Hope this clarify your question. |

Ogbenijhybo: pls sir, how much time does the job afford you to yourself. just for one to do some other things. It depends on how you can manage your time but will give you brief info on the job time. Morning shift: Starts from 7am-4pm, between this is an hour break which is spread to 15, 15 & 30mins. You need to get to work by 6:30am cos you will have a briefing before each day work. Though there is transportation, meaning you may have to leave home by 5:30am depending on where you live in order to meet staff bus. In essence, morning shift takes at least 11- 12hrs depending on where you live. Afternoon shift: Similar to morning shift but some people take much longer time than that. Shift starts from 11:30am-8:30pm. You will leave home by 10am and get home around 9:30pm. Same reason as morning shift and location dependent. Night shift: Runs from 8:30pm-7am. Log on duration is 8hrs and the remaining time is for break. You also need to leave early just as the reasons above. From opinion review, afternoon shift is the most consuming shift because you will leave as early as 10am and get home by 10pm. Meaning you spend the whole day at work. Believe me, you will be extremely tired after each of this shift work. You can use this to plan your time. |

monsieursam64: the base pay to me is meagre. 46k per month I wonder, why someone would have to talk over 8hrs everyday, and would still be given a paycheck in that amount. I was not surprised when I realized it was an Indian owned company. They are only taking advantage of Nigerian graduates because of the high unemployment rate in d land. #Nigeriagobetteroneday However, I won't discourage anyone from applying, this should only be to pay basic bills and strengthen CV, why man go de find a better job elsewhere.
Does anyone have any idea how much MTN pay their employees that work in the call centre? shalom I agree with you on most of these. The main thing the applicants should have in mind is for them to get an experience with this job. But the job itself is a very stressful one. People do resign cos of the side effects and challenges on the job. The eyes and ears are the health part which are been affected because of the length of log-on duration. Majority of the people doing this job do get eye glasses over time and some people do have ear problems. The money aspect do not complement at all. If you are working with an Indian company, you should know that they don't pay much. I can tell you that the salary which is 46k now is still okay compared to when they were paying 27k and 35k which they started with and paid for years. Having time for another job or job search is also another issue with this job. It often takes so much of ones time that you may find it difficult to move ahead. The applicants just need to have these in mind and work around them. May God help you all. |

akinwunmir: The job is total reap-off, why must you pay to get employed. After N2500 for the application, applicant will still be asked to pay N20000 for training WHY!!! Ask yourself this basic question, How much is the salary? How secured is the Job? Are you sure of been converted even if you meet and exceed target performance. Nigerians be wise and say no to all the Bourgeoisies reaping us of our little fund I don't know where you got that from but if it's from what I wrote, I will suggest you read it over again and correct your notion on it. It was written that applicants will BE paid #20000 as training fee and NOT that applicants will pay. Thank you. |

geobukky: errr.. i worked with Ison BPO(Airtel call center) some months back and dy dont ask you to pay for application.... am nt saying its a scam ooo...everything you said match ISON BPO except the training which is 40days and the OJT is about 4-7 days and dy will never ask you to pay to process application ..its a multinational company and its been run by indians .... its either the company is trying to affiliate with ISON BPO .... If it is truly part of ison google ISON BPO it cant be hard to find ... @bolded is accurate I understand you but it's just that you did not read what I wrote that some things may have changed. Talking about Ison, I think I can say much about the company than you can. Firstly, I started with the company in Sept. 2012 when they started in Ibadan. i.e I am one of the first batch that kick off their call centre in Ibadan. And I spent 2yrs and 7 months with the company. Meaning I can tell you what you don't know about the company. It was the same Alexander that handled the recruitment then. I believed you joined Ison when they are doing it themselve. I have been to their Alexander's office in Challenge and that is why I said "you will pay #2500 for the form". Just like they did back in 2012. But form then was #1000. Saying that they are associating themselve with Ison just because you don't know the basis is wrong from you. Ison will use them to get the agents at first and later handle it by itself. I rest my case. |
