Hello,

while your criticism of organised Religion with respect to fasting is justified, you may fail to see the bigger picture. Of course it is ridiculous to suggest that a loving divine father would require his children not to eat for many days before he answers their prayers. This simply proves that many religious people misunderstand the role of fasting, but does not in any makes fasting useless for the spiritual minded.
