The car na sweet ride, I own one. It has a shift on the gear which turns it tiptronic (semi auto). Make sure you use recommended oil and always check engine oil level too, if you do this you're in heaven. |

IdaraCHODB:
Have an extra litre or to be safe a whole gallon and check your oil level every morning! or worst case every 1,000 miles!!
Some of the stories on this issue are quite touching, matter of fact, for most of them by the time they notice the oil is too low it is too late since oil is to the engine what blood is to human life! wow! that's awful, after spending so much to buy a car and then lose it to something so avoidable. |

IdaraCHODB: For the last 90 days on carcomplaints website 2007 Toyota Camry owners bitterly complained of the vehicle burning oil has been trending.
I have also been able to establish from the same website that the 2007 - 2008 Toyota Solara suffers from the same problem.
Indeed the description of the problem seems to fit the pattern described by the owner of a 2006 Toyota Solara as above, which leads me to the unsubstantiated but most likely true conclusion that he might have been mistaken in blaming the engine oil instead of the engine and by extension the manufacturer for his woes
Symptoms of excessive oil consumption include:
1. Having your "oil pressure" light come on halfway through your maintenance schedule
2. Having your engine burn through as much as 1 quart of oil in 1,200 miles
3. Being told that your engine burning through oil is "normal" and "nothing to be alarmed of"
4. Having t come back with a damaged, oil-deprived engine only to be denied warranty coverage.
You can confirm the above by running a search against the toyotaproblems website from which most of the above was sourced. So instead of changing oil types I should just stick with the 5w30 but with have an extra litre in the boot then. Okay, let me try that for a while |

No shaking gooners, 5 more games left. If Bayern, over 2 legs give us our agreed one point ; Olympiacos do the needful with 6 points; and Zagreb return the favour we did them with 3, I see no reason why we shouldn't finish 2nd in the group, as usual. |

Interesting, let's get the facts right here: i. This is a forum, every member is allowed to air their views , no matter what, priovided those views do not go beyond what Mr. Seun stipulates;
ii. Picachoo, Sad9 and whomever are fans too, but doesn't mean they have to like the direction things are going. If Saraki, Tambuwal and Amechi didn't air their views, Nigeria.... . In the same spirit, I believe all those with dissenting views want the best Arsenal F C; and
iii. I believe we have to open up our minds to others' views instead of adopting this Robert Mugabe complex. There was a time I used to see posts from people like dayokanu, sauron etc back then as just banter. But over the years those comments have come seem like very valid observations. |

Macmilla: Update: After almost two weeks of battling with my oil leak, I think I finally fixed the damn thing. Initially, we thought it was my bottom pan but after remounting it twice and finally replacing it with a new one, we kept seeing oil down there and my oil level kept going down. We then had to think out of the box. My mech opened the plastic covering the timing belt and lo and behold, the whole place was messed up with oil. It was leaking obviously from the crankshaft oil seal and oil pump oil seal. It drains down to mess up the pan making us think the pan is the culprit. We changed both oil seals. I'll still watch to make sure it has completely stopped. So, to all those facing oil shortages after going back to 5w-20, just go under there, find where it's dropping from and plug it up. Nothing to worry about. Check the pan and all the oil seals on the block. The oil starts leaking because it's much lighter than the 20w-50 which you have been using and therefore penetrates worn cleavages that 20w-50 would not penetrate. I think the ppl that got knocked engine were not observant enough to notice the leakage and eventually they had an empty engine that knocked. Common sense should tell us that an engine with the recommended oil IN IT should not knock unless the oil is no longer in it. So my own advice, change to the recommended oil, your engine won't knock. Mine didn't. Just watch out for leaks over a week or two of active driving. If any leaks, fix it ASAP and your engine will be happy. If you don't watch out for leaks by checking your oil regularly, ur oil might drain completely and ur engine will pack. #myexperience Thank Heavens for your case. Me I'm opting to revert to non synthetic, can't risk it. GAZZUZZ: 6years! Don't know the oil change intervals but I can guess, sludge is presently protecting the engine from failure, once you introduce "the original" but a thiner oil that takes car of the sludge problem, then you start having the oil shortages, then the rattling then finally the knock. Iv seen it happen twice. But why didn't anyone tell me this when I wrote about it on that Toyota thread ? One week after changing from 20w to Toyota 5w30 on my 2006 Solara, and driving a total of about 1000km, the oil pressure signal started to come on. At first I taught it was a faulty sensor, now I've realised the engine is probably burning more synthetic oil than petrol. I'll advise him to try total quartz 7 instead, that's what I plan to switch to. |

debosky: ^^ I don't think this is a January issue. Alexis hit the post twice against Stoke alone. . . .that will not keep happening as he regains sharpness.
Ditto for Theo - yes he missed quite a few chances but I'm confident getting one will increase his confidence. Come on! How many of those failed conversions are owned by Alexis, I'm not even worried about him cos I know he will come good eventually ? There's nothing bad having someone score twice as many goals as Alexis, if we really want to win something worth mentioning. Lampard did it in Chelsea while Drogba was topping the scoring charts. And as for Theo, hmmmm, we hate for it to happpen but how many games are left till his next surgery? These are things we all know |

So I've converted to synthetic Engine oil and the engine still hasn't knocked yet. I've done over 400km of driving since friday , 4th sept. However the parts dealer told me not to be in a hurry to change the seahorse ATF I'm currently on: Toyota transmissions are known to be one of the most rugged out there. Sea horse is dexron 3 , the alternative specified by the manual in the absence of Toyota T-IV fluid. |

Pataki: Of course you are right. But my point is that even the best strikers in the world can be found missing in a game attimes. I get what you're saying. This will be Giroud's third season with us, Walcott's tenth. Come on Man !!! Nobody is asking Mr Gru to throw money in a well, but, at least act like you're trying to improve that offensive line. Okay, you say there are no strikers available, then get the right wing version of Alexis. There's no law that says we must play with a no. 9 |

So after deciding to repent from my old "naija maintenance" ways, I've decided to purge my vehicle of all non toyota spec oil and fluids. The Toyota T-IV ATF should be replacing the Sea horse currently in the transmission (i know ), while the Toyota 5w30 will be replacing "whatever" 20w50 is sleeping in the oil pan. I'm not too concerned about the transmission as Toyota recommends dexron 3 ATF in the absence of it's T-IV. Comments I've seen here about seahorse, which is dexron 3 itself, get me ? thinking occasionally though. |

Pataki: And yet their last game against Malaga, their MSN could not find the net for 90 minutes. It took a Verminator (a defender) who had been rotting on the bench to score their only winning goal. Don't even begin to try going there, that trio scored more goals last season, than any Arsenal squad probably ever has. |
