The problem here is VAT. It is a consumption tax. We pay VAT at the point we buy the product or service. But for convenient sake, companies remits the VAT paid through their head office.
So it is not the state where the head office is that generated the VAT and should not take the lion share.
The proposal from the Governor's Forum is more reasonable than the one from Tinubu.

This is what they do not understand. That the VAT is collected in Lagos does not mean that the consumption took place in Lagos.
If they don't like this recommendation, then every state should be allowed to collect VAT on their consumption. It should not be channelled to the head office in Lagos or PH.
