ACCESSCORP's 2025 Full Year Earning Per Share is ₦13.48 Earning Per Share for Q1 2026 is ₦3.69. This is a good result. Insiders loans which is close to ₦500 billion is surely the reason why the CBN asked ACCESSCORP not to pay dividend. The CBN should enact law the bars insiders from taking loan. Insiders can go to other banks to take loans. I know insiders are buying the shares of ACCESSCORP. |

GeneralDae: What do you think would help the average Nigerian? What policy should be reversed or implemented? The APC government has drastically slowed down economic activities by greatly increasing the cost of goods and services. The astronomical increase in goods and services has reduced economic activities.Consumers tend to buy more when goods and services are cheaper;and increase in consumption increases the growth of the economy. |

The 10 percent is as good as your dividend. I sold about 8 percent of my ACCESSCORP in my investment portfolio for about ₦35; and this is my dividend for 2025 financial year. |

OsunOriginal: That's another ugly face of this government's policy of always wanting to take from the people. Fuel price up, energy price up, tax up, and now the CBN is blocking the dividends that should go to the people for their investment. They want to say they don't know the market would react to this? Trump syndrome... "I didn't know Iran would retaliate..." blah blah blah Tinubu's government is 99 percent a capitalist government; this government is greatly anti people. |

ghm: Recommendation for the Executive(Presidency) Considerations
I think the Presidency needs to step in, not to break the CBN, but to broker a sensible timeline.
The stock market has been one of the few positive stories of this administration. By asking UBA not to pay dividends, the CBN has triggered a contagious sell‑off across banking stocks. If they do the same to AccessCorp and FBNHoldings, the drop will be massive – and that damages confidence far beyond the banking sector.
We are not saying the CBN should stop regulating. Prudential rules are necessary. But regulation must consider the real‑world impact on the economy and on millions of shareholders.
The current one‑year forced provisioning for legacy FX loans is unnecessarily brutal. Instead of one year, why not use two years to write off those loans? That way:
1. Banks can still pay partial dividends (e.g., 40% of prior year) if they meet quarterly provisioning targets.
2. The CBN still gets a clean banking system by mid‑2026 – just not overnight.
3. The stock market avoids a crash, and the administration keeps its visible success story.
What I am not asking for is a public fight or a crude “calling the CBN to order”. That would harm regulatory independence and scare off foreign investors. Instead, the Presidency should quietly ask the CBN to issue a revised circular – with forward‑looking, clear rules – that allows a 2‑year transition and tiered dividends.
That is the win‑win: the CBN cleans up the books, banks survive, shareholders are not wiped out, and the market rally stays alive. Quite frankly, your message is filled with wisdom. I think the current CBN management has not put the economic well being of the investors into consideration while formulating banking laws. |

Raider76: Blame the CBN. Why should they rubbish a big bank like the UBA? They should have allowed at least N1.00 dividend out of N9 EPS. Insiders want it at a lower price in order to buy. |

yMcy56: Forget this 200Mn offers you're looking at.... It's there because no one is presently buying, if someone should come and pack like 30/50M units now, you'll see how those offers will disappear..... People will start cancelling their offers...
Tony is watching, his boys, MM and bargainers are watching....... They already knew this will happen because of the result and non payment of Div... Once it gets to certain price, you'll see actions.... We've seen worst scenarios before, las las everything calm ni. He'll come and stabilize the price. Irrational exuberance(herd mentality) is at play here. I don't think there is a cause for alarm. Reversal in price action will surely come before 4 days. |

yMcy56: Things might not be worst as people are over analyzing here.. Rise in prices wasn't and isn't about dividends alone... Make una no give yourselves unnecessarily heart attack over UBA's result... If Tony can address shareholders, the press or drop a press release just like Otedola did, it will douse tension.... After one or two days, the price may stabilize.... We've been in this market before..... His boys may storm the market to stabilize the share price....... He has done it before......let's see how this is again handled. When STANBIC declared below expectation dividend, it was punished for one or two days, stabilize, then started moving up again. It's well. I even thought the result was a loss.It is just a reduction in profit. I'm very sure UBA will get to ₦60 very soon. |

And they think he will allow something he bought at #50 go to #30 Is it dividend making transcorp hotel go above #200. Uba will see red of 2 or 3 days and that is all Is it expected dividend driving FBNH to this present price UBA will probably get to ₦60 next week. In 12 months time ,it will probably get to ₦100. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by EDUECO(m): 5:12am On Apr 25*. Modified: 7:57am On Apr 25 |
UBA made around ₦9 plus per share in 2025 Full Financial Year. UBA made around ₦3 plus per share in Q1 2026. The above results cannot be regarded as a loss. The ₦9 plus made in 2025 can easily pay a total dividend of ₦5 if the CBN had approved it . The provision for loans is probably the reason UBA is not paying final dividend for 2025 financial year. I still believe UBA will get to ₦100 in 12 months time. To the Lekus and Oando gangs,UBA is not a mediocre company. |
