You are right.
Since it was in the budget, it becomes statutory.
However, the new government will be doing a budget ammendment to allow them implement their own projects. Some plus and minus should be expected.

Precisely! Therefore, the direction of our prayers should be that Tranche 2 will scale through before the "Minus" scale through. Since Tranche 2 will do for almost 'if not all of us'.

By the way I think we all need to start connecting with Coordinator & NOI as we are dying for an update, those Secretariat respondents 'to me' most times just diplomically tell you they are as clueless as you are.

I think it might be too early to predict what will happen to YouWiN for sure, though the chances look bleak.

My guess is that YouWiN 3 might scale through since it was budgeted for in the last budget, but YouWiN 4 and beyond is much more uncertain.

We have received reports that some of you are diverting funds for other uses. This will be a great disappointment if this is confirmed as the continuity of the program depends on your performance.........YouWiN!

Already?
Please, let's resist the temptation, "like it has already been emphasis on this forum" build the business first and other things will follow.

God bless dearest NOI, she promised to look into it only some few hours ago and here's already an update...indeed the update's a great relief for those that have not receive first tranche.

I noticed that alot of awardees actually peep into this forum just to get a clue of whats happening or solution to peculiar problems. I'll advice our youwin siblings to participate actively and not just to peep to see when alert will start coming. LOL!!!

"Peep in" ain't there many of us; maybe becus recent discussions largely center around 1st trench which obviously is out of our control or shud I say jurisdiction, consequently we just dey sidon wait abi na sidon look....

My be we can challenge the forum with some real discussion abstracted from trench 1 for a lil while, may be it'll encourage more engagement and reduce some BP wink

As someone rightly suggested we need a forum beyond nairaland were all YouWiN 3 awardee will meet State by State and see how to help one another on our parthway to the Wonderland of millionaire.

If anyone has any suggestion on how we can do that, kindly raise it so we can start immediately.

Yes, I support the ideal. I think rather than saying "anyone", we should say everybody should share their idea & suggestions, because I believe we all have an idea and no suggestion is totally useless. I personally have been thinking about this alot, if we could get this going it would really be a win win for everyone. We a YouWin TEAM; Together Everybody Achieve More, obviously this forum thread has proved that to be true and we need to take it to the next level.

I thought of so many things we could do; like for instance if YouWin! 3 for example has 1500 awardees and there is a plantform for everybody to connect with each other, that would mean YouWin! 3 businesses are starting with or adding at-least 500 ready-made news customers. So, I thought about an online shopping platform by YouWin awardees for Youwin awardees, I'm trying to build something in that line but it's hardly ready.

I remember that during the time for Networking at the Training I took the contact of all the IT applicants and made sure to call them after but many of them didn't get the grant. I'm still in contact with one or two of those awarded the grant. Maybe we could start from there, like we all individually begin to rally and sensitize other awardees that we have their contacts, especially those who are not on this forum.

Hello all I just want to confirm if your banks charged you for legal search. UBA is charging and also we would be charged cot. Is that your experience too?

My experience and advice, never ever you accept whatever whoever at your Bank tells you. Understand what YouWin! says you should do and ask them at the Bank precisely that. Yes! I know, some of them don't want to cooperate but you must insist and stand your ground, every bank has a COT free account it's nothing new so why is it an issue, don't let them put you on COT account by any mistake, act like the millionaire you now are. grin

When the guy that first attended to me at Zenith started listing out the normal procedures for what and what, I cut him short and told him what YouWin! says, and that if not for YouWin! I'm personally not also interested in Banking with them and then the guy changed his tone and cooperated. If he didn't I would have simply; told him I will report him and their branch to YouWin and then go look for another branch.

Dear Awardee,

This is to remind you that you are required to open a corporate bank account in the name of your registered business. This account will be used to disburse the YouWiN! Grant funds for your business. If you have commenced the account opening process, ensure that it is completed before December 12, 2014. This will enable the secretariat to commence the processing of Tranche 1 funds.

Kindly visit the nearest bank branch of your YouWiN! designated bank with the following (originals and photocopies);

a. CAC certificate and supporting documents which include particulars of shareholders and directors where applicable or a partnership deed duly notarized by a commissioner of Oath to show ownership of majority shares by 51% and above).

b. YouWiN! Legal agreement.

Please note that you are to open the account as the ONLY signatory as you will be fully responsible for managing the grant funds.

If you are in the Education related sector and are having challenges with this process, you are encouraged to apply for provisional approval from the State Ministry of Education where your business is/will be located to enable you complete the account opening process.

You can contact the Secretariat by responding to this email if have any other challenges.

Thank you

Am......house? Did anyone realised that the exchange rate is now 180 naira to a dollar? A whooping difference of 30 naira when compared to the time of our initial proposal.

It is well.

The implication is, we should all have realized by now that the Biz Plan submitted to YouWin has become a Beta Version due to the already discouraging delay in disbursement, knowing that TIME is a resource never, ever to be joke with in Business.
So, I think we should have gone to work on our now Beta Version Biz Plan and by now have our Release Candidate (RC) with a number of components carrying question mark (?) which should be fully ready to be transformed into the Stable Version immediately after disbursement...... grin

Denn:

I reason that mentors would speak with us and give reports before disbursements. That should be the ideal thing. However, I don't know how it worked out in the last editions. Then there is the issue of the boot camp.

As much as I totally agree with you, I seriously think I deal things are better done in ideal times. If you ask me I'd say YouWin!3 has rolled into a not too ideal time. If YouWin SME Fund, Exhibition and Presidential Award can be merge, what stops mentoring issue, bootcamp, etc. to be edited to come after 1st Trench disbursement? Afterall, many people's 1st Trench wouldn't even be sufficient to fully commenced their business........just my thought.

@Jeffymyson. So after reporting at d link, wt happens? Will it make him endorse d TIN?

It might not make him endorse your TIN right now, it however could save a million more people that should become his Victims if left unchecked and you never know, the next person my be someone you know or care about!

chukwuka12:
I believe MOST of us would have done d same thing, that's d honest truth

No! A couple of us wouldn't have done the same thing, infact, some of us who experienced something related to that did something different. The only honest truth is that we were not in their positions and we've got a different mindset.

chukwuka12:
PLEASE all DAT is needed is CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM. No need to make any one feel bad or look foolish...

For all I know, that what this thread stands for and have always done, except it changed yesterday that I wasn't here! Often time "Truth" doesn't sounds obviously constructive, but that's easily detected with the mindset that anybody can make mistake and when I do, I acknowledge it, see my error, learn from it, informed and empowered by it and become better to do it right/better the next time".

YOUWIN ALWAYS SAY:
Participation in YouWiN! is FREE for all components of the program. Candidates and awardees are advised to
make no payments to anybody on account of YouWiN! participation and are required to immediately contact the
secretariat
should anyone request payment.

...personally this align with my mindset and I took courage from it 'no matter what position' right from the beginning and all the way.
