dustmalik: That's not how 'fiber to the home' works. First of all, the fiber is generally installed in a given area, with the fiber cable passing through the front of the buildings in that area. So, if an occupant of a home is interested in the service, the provider then connects a point from the front of your house into your house.
In the case of MTN, once the service is available in your location, you simply pay 35k. They then connect a point to your home and connect it to the router. Thanks for the explanation. That's why it isn't widely used. I guess it's not available in most locations. I dobut if such a service is available where I live. |

WhileTrue: The device is N35, 0000 with free 10 days validity of 50mbps The installation is free, they will run the cable into your apartment from the nearest connection point The plans are speed-based with 30 days validity I do the 20 MBPS for 15k per month but they have higher speeds for a higher price Won't the installation cost depend on the distance of their connection point to ones home though? Perhaps it's worth trying out |

WhileTrue: I use the MTN Fiber plans. The speed is constant and truly unlimited. The only time I had a downtime was due to a faulty generator from the base station.
I wish they had a pause option for when I am out of town so that the validity can be extended, my swift unlimited had that feature What's the price and setup cost, monthly subscription? |

freeAgent99: Thank you. Was thinking one could easily subscribe by using any Airtel sim. Please how much is it sold now, and is it only in Airtel offices or even vendors have it? ODU is now 40k last time I bought for someone. Airtel offices sell as well as some agents. |

sonickay: Wo baba, you sabi ball oo. I had to upgrade my inverter system with almost 400k after I bought Starlink to keep it running 24/7 without interruption. To share it with neigbors, a router of 120k. When it came to broadcasting to four house, Ubiquity said 230k for each access point mesh, i just disembarked jeje.
If I didnt have an existing system, I would have had to spend money on solar panels, weather-proof solar cables, charge controller, batteries and inverter. running into minimum of 1.5m.
If you dont have steady power supply or plan to buy inverter or have a solar system, Starlink is not for you as power availability will speedily become a major headache for you Which router did you buy? Pls share |

ibawon: 12k monthly. I paid for it before the vendor told me about this. I was told they did activation at Computer village on Saturday However it seems their iptv is mostly African content. Moreover won't it be better to just subscribe to one of either the wakatv or sapatv, since you get almost same dstv channels |

ibawon: I use Waka TV the most stable form of IPTV out there. But they now have SAPA TV for Naija and cost ₦7,700 monthly with all DSTV channels and latest movies. You can try the 7 days trial. https://sapatv.net/ Yeah. Checked 'em out. They are quite good for watching dstv channels. Thanks for sharing sir. What's the price for wakatv iptv subscription? |

Ayomipoe: It is games that take that much Data, the previous screenshot I shared was from this morning, and now that I checked.
I am installing COD 310gb, Fallout 4 80 gb Kai na wa o. 310gb for just one game. I guess starlink is better for hame enthusiasts. For those who are regular Internet users, average video streamers and average Downloaders, then airtel is more than adequate for their use case. |

santaclaws: Whats your current speed on Airtel? Bear in mind, this is almost midnight! I don't even bother about checking the temporality of my usage in relation to browsing or Download speed because I almost always ha e very decent speed. So I am not bothered about that time of the day it is. Most often than not, I am downloading while the kids are also streaming media on the TV all without any buffering whatsoever. |
Phones › Re: My Starlink Review After Porting From Airtel Unlimited by EduTechTainMent: 10:41pm On Aug 17, 2024 |
santaclaws: Yea location affects but you can't experience a very good download and upload speed on Airtel or any other Nigerian network for that matter, except during midnight.
Most of them do not go beyond 10-20mbps at their fastest, which could be as low as 10kbps when the traffic is much. MTN, Airtel, Glo, they're all the same, Not so in my case and I an on 4G. Use IDM for your Downloads |

aidameoryou: How much for the airtel package and it's monthly sub 40 to 50k initial cost with bundled one month subscription to the unlimited 20 plan. Subsequently you pay 20k for the monthly subscription to the unlimited 20 plan. |

Pastorjohn2: I wouldn't recommend it for something such a pos business. The battery last around 3-4 hours from my experience. If you are looking to sell off your airtel router, I am looking to buy one. I read one of threads where you have ported to starlink. Happy streaming, downloading and surfing |

PraiseGod4u: Is the Airtel network based on Ur location or that's how it is generally for the router? Most likely a location issue. I use the airtel unlimited 20 plan with an ODU and I get a seamless experience. Streaming, browsing and downloads in a breeze. I guess user experiences differ. Everyone should use what works for them. The most important consideration is that one gets value for money well spent.

OCTAVO: Airtel's 20mbps plan is unlimited, but once your download/upload hit a certain threshold, the 20mbps will be throttled down further (it will be extremely slow and useless). Someone I know experienced this after downloading about 28GB. The speed will reset itself to 20mbps the next day. I don't experience this at all. I download way more than that on some days and the network doesn't get throttled. 28GB is too low. Perhaps there is an issue with his connection Below is my usage stats on just one of my pc. This doesn't include usage on the TVs and mobile streaming devices
