Over 60% of university students can't write that piece.
Stop showing gullibility and trying to force an untruth down our reasonably objective throats.

Lest I forget, this work was actually done as a class work, and she did it withing a limited time, that's the reason for most of the grammatical errors

Adverts / ASUU Strikes From 1999 Till Date: by edwindprof(m): 12:18pm On Nov 04, 2013
ASUU strikes from1999 till date:
1999 -5 months
2001 -3 months
2003 - 6 months (extended to early 2004)
2005 - 3 days
2006 - 1 week 2007 - 3 months
2008 - 1 week
2009 - 4 months
2011 - 3 months extend into 2012
2013 - over 4months and still counting,,,,,
From the above analysis, it's clear there was never a time FG met 100% of ASUU demands before they
called off the strike. If this is the case, why has ASUU
refused to shift ground even when FG has met more
than 75% of their demands? From available
information, FG has met all ASUU demands. The only
contentious issue is the ambiguous N92b earned allowance claim which FG has released N60b to
universities management to pay upon verification. Is
the release of N60b not enough for a sane
organization to shift ground and allow Nigerian
students enjoy the education they paid for while
negotiation with FG continues? ASUU has however, continuously refused to tell
Nigerians the contentious issues. The ones FG has
met and the areas it's yet to meet. The present ASUU
represents nothing but deceit and has lost public
sympathy. It's obvious ASUU strike has become
annual event where lecturers abandon their jobs in public universities for part-time jobs in private
universities. The best thing for FG is to disband ASUU
so that it won't have a national body again because it
has become a political tool in the hand of APC to
destabilize GEJ's govt.
Religion / Computer Scientists 'prove' God Exists. by edwindprof(m): 11:49am On Oct 30, 2013
Austrian mathematician Kurt Gödel kept his proof of God's existence a secret for decades. Now two scientists say they have proven it mathematically using a computer.

Two scientists have formalized a theorem regarding the existence of God penned by mathematician Kurt Gödel. But the God angle is somewhat of a red herring -- the real step forward is the example it sets of how computers can make scientific progress simpler.

As headlines go, it's certainly an eye-catching one. "Scientists Prove Existence of God," German daily Die Welt wrote last week.

But unsurprisingly, there is a rather significant caveat to that claim. In fact, what the researchers in question say they have actually proven is a theorem put forward by renowned Austrian mathematician Kurt Gödel -- and the real news isn't about a Supreme Being, but rather what can now be achieved in scientific fields using superior technology.

When Gödel died in 1978, he left behind a tantalizing theory based on principles of modal logic -- that a higher being must exist. The details of the mathematics involved in Gödel's ontological proof are complicated, but in essence the Austrian was arguing that, by definition, God is that for which no greater can be conceived. And while God exists in the understanding of the concept, we could conceive of him as greater if he existed in reality. Therefore, he must exist.

Even at the time, the argument was not exactly a new one. For centuries, many have tried to use this kind of abstract reasoning to prove the possibility or necessity of the existence of God. But the mathematical model composed by Gödel proposed a proof of the idea. Its theorems and axioms -- assumptions which cannot be proven -- can be expressed as mathematical equations. And that means they can be proven.

Proving God's Existence with a MacBook

That is where Christoph Benzmüller of Berlin's Free University and his colleague, Bruno Woltzenlogel Paleo of the Technical University in Vienna, come in. Using an ordinary MacBook computer, they have shown that Gödel's proof was correct -- at least on a mathematical level -- by way of higher modal logic. Their initial submission on the arXiv.org research article server is called "Formalization, Mechanization and Automation of Gödel's Proof of God's Existence."

The fact that formalizing such complicated theorems can be left to computers opens up all kinds of possibilities, Benzmüller told SPIEGEL ONLINE. "It's totally amazing that from this argument led by Gödel, all this stuff can be proven automatically in a few seconds or even less on a standard notebook," he said.

The name Gödel may not mean much to some, but among scientists he enjoys a reputation similar to the likes of Albert Einstein -- who was a close friend. Born in 1906 in what was then Austria-Hungary and is now the Czech city of Brno, Gödel later studied in Vienna before moving to the United States after World War II broke out to work at Princeton, where Einstein was also based. The first version of this ontological proof is from notes dated around 1941, but it was not until the early 1970s, when Gödel feared that he might die, that it first became public.

Now Benzmüller hopes that using such a headline-friendly example can help draw attention to the method. "I didn't know it would create such a huge public interest but (Gödel's ontological proof) was definitely a better example than something inaccessible in mathematics or artificial intelligence," the scientist added. "It's a very small, crisp thing, because we are just dealing with six axioms in a little theorem. … There might be other things that use similar logic. Can we develop computer systems to check each single step and make sure they are now right?"

'An Ambitious Expressive Logic'

The scientists, who have been working together since the beginning of the year, believe their work could have many practical applications in areas such as artificial intelligence and the verification of software and hardware.

Benzmüller also pointed out that there are many scientists working on similar subject areas. He himself was inspired to tackle the topic by a book entitled "Types, Tableaus and Gödel's God," by Melvin Fitting.

The use of computers to reduce the burden on mathematicians is not new, even if it is not welcomed by all in the field. American mathematician Doron Zeilberger has been listing the name Shalosh B. Ekhad on his scientific papers since the 1980s. According to the New York-based Simons Foundation, the name is actually a pseudonym for the computers he uses to help prove theorems in seconds that previously required page after page of mathematical reasoning. Zeilberger says he gave the computer a human-sounding name "to make a statement that computers should get credit where credit is due." "human-centric bigotry" on the part of mathematicians, he says, has limited progress.

Ultimately, the formalization of Gödel's ontological proof is unlikely to win over many atheists, nor is it likely to comfort true believers, who might argue the idea of a higher power is one that defies logic by definition. For mathematicians looking for ways to break new ground, however, the news could represent an answer to their prayers.

Politics / Coscharis Wired N112M Kickback To Stella Oduah. by edwindprof(m): 12:37pm On Oct 23, 2013
The Nature Of Tokunbo Ban Cabal Manufacturers.
Even as the minister of aviation began a new spin today that the BMW armored cars purchased by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for her use were done on “hire-purchase”, SaharaReporters has unearthed new details about the $1.6 million spent by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to purchase the armored BMW cars for Nigeria’s Aviation Minister Stella Oduah.

FIGHT-THE-CABALA highly reliable source has told SaharaReporters that the shady deal for the car was done entirely between Coscharis Motors Limited, a dealership from which the cars were purchased, one of Ms. Oduah’s private firms based in Abuja, and First Bank of Nigeria. SaharaReporters had revealed the account number at the First Bank into which the monies were paid on behalf of the NCAA.

“The NCAA was not even aware of the deal until the minister told them to sign that they had received two BMW cars,” said our source.

After inking the deal, Coscharis Motors, sellers of the highly inflated automobiles, reportedly gave the Aviation Minister more than N112 million as kickbacks. Our source added that Cosmas Maduka, who owns Coscharis Motors, pocked N60 million for each of the two BMW cars.

An official at the NCAA corroborated the information that the agency was largely kept in the dark about the transaction. “We were never privy to the transaction and had not seen the cars even though our head of transport was made to sign the delivery note,” said the source. The agency is under the Ministry of Aviation.

The source added that the agency has still not seen the cars even after the scandal escalated. SaharaReporters was first to break the news that Ms. Oduah compelled a cash-strapped NCAA to pay for two extravagantly priced bullet-proof BMWs for her personal use. After initially denying our reports, the minister’s spokesman, Joe Obi, admitted that the transaction transpired. Mr. Obi alleged that the purchase was justified because of unspecified threats to the minister’s life. Neither Mr. Obi nor the minister has provided proof of any threats to Ms. Oduah. The minister has not addressed why the NCAA paid a price tag that auto dealers in the US and the UK described as a rip-off. US dealers said that each of the BMW cars should cost no more than $$167,000.Bmw_760li

Last week, an official of the NCAA, Fola Akinkuotu, spoke to the media and defended the purchase of the cars. Mr. Akinkuotu said the cars were for the ministry’s protocol pool for use in transporting foreign aviation dignitaries when they visit Nigeria. His explanation conflicted with the original statement by the minister’s spokesman, Mr. Obi. A source at the NCAA disclosed that Mr. Akinkuotu felt tricked into facing the media on the scandal. “He had been told he would only appear beside the embattled minister, who was supposed to speak. Instead, he was asked to speak,” said the source.

Meanwhile, a source at the Presidency said President Goodluck Jonathan was unfazed about the fraud perpetrated by Ms. Stella Oduah, his Aviation Minister. Ms. Oduah and the late former National Security Advisor, General Owoye Azazi, had played significant roles in raising and disbursing money to rig the 2011 presidential elections for Mr. Jonathan. Mr. Jonathan will depart Abuja tomorrow on a weeklong pilgrimage to Isreal.

However, SaharaReporters learnt that several ministers and diplomats have registered their displeasure at Mr. Jonathan’s continued retention of Ms. Oduah on his cabinet.

TV/Movies / List Of Top Nollywood Actresses And Their S*X Scandals by edwindprof(m): 2:30pm On Oct 21, 2013
In a recently published story by a Nigerian magazine, the prevalence of scandals in the Nigerian movie industry was highlighted and it was noted that these scandals, which have become synonymous with Nollywood, have been perpetrated mostly by actresses.

Scandals ranging from husband snatching to s*xual immorality are synonymous with Nollywood acts, and these have affected the image of many Nigerian actors and actresses.
Below are some of names mentioned in the story;

Mercy Johnson
Mercy Johnson has always been in the news even before her controversial wedding to Edo big boy, Prince Odi Okojie on Saturday, August 27, 2011. The lady hit the news headlines when she was pictured exposing her private part at an event. It was obvious in the photograph that she did not wear pant or bra. Her wedding became an issue, which was feasted on by the print media as she was alleged to have snatched someone’s husband as revealed by one Lovelyn, a supposed wife of Prince Okojie. Mercy Johnson is one actress with scandalous séxual controversies

Ini Edo
Inibong Edobong, better known as Ini Edo. Ini is one Nollywood actress that is synonymous with s*x scandals in the industry. Her wedding was a bit controversial after she was believed to have snatched Philip Ehiagwina from society lady, Ruth Okoro. She was once rumoured to be having a romantic affair with a governor in the South-South region of Nigeria. Also recently, she was reported to have left a club with another man.

Tonto Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh is unarguably the most controversial Nollywood actress. The beautiful lady has always been in the news since her emergence in the movie industry in 2006. She was recently alleged to have been paid N5million for s*x by the Managing Director of Sifax, Mr. Taiwo Afolabi. Tonto is also noted for being a lover of tattoo as she has more than 57 designs on her body. One other thing about this lady is that she is a heavy smoker, and she once had a brawl with Van Vicker on a movie set in 2011.

Iyabo Ojo
Iyabo Ojo is not new to negative stories. It was reported that a top Lagos politician and former Senator gave her the Range Rover SUV she is cruising around town. Her bitter fight with colleague, Lizzy Anjorin was almost becoming monumental until some industry heavyweights stepped in to broker peace between the two beautiful actresses. Apart from that, the controversial actress has been involved in several séx scandals and she was once reported to have been caught having séx with a man at the back seat of a car in London.

Funke Akindele
Until her recent wedding to Oshodi big boy, Alhaji Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, Funke was really an actress with many séx scandals. She was alleged to have fought with one of her colleagues on a movie set in 2011 over a man. Some have also rumoured that she had escapades with some notable men before her marriage, which held with funfare on May 26, 2012. Her wedding to Almaroof also became controversial as she was reported to be going into Almaroof’s life as a third wife.

Genevieve Nnaji
Genny, as sexy Genevieve Nnaji is fondly called, has been romantically linked with several actors in Nollywood. Ramsey Nouah, RMD, Pat Attah and others are some of the men she was rumoured to have dated. Genevieve was once said to have dated a topmost politician in Nigeria, apart from other alleged sexcapades here and there. Though she has become the face of a popular vehicle manufacturer, her s*x life in the industry can never be easily forgotten in a hurry

Tayo Odueke (Sikiratu Sindodo)
Not many know Tayo Odueke by her real name, she is better known and addressed as Sikiratu Sindodo, a name she got from one of her movie flicks. One of her most popular scandals was her hot romance with a leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi, Lagos, Musiliu Akinsanya also known as MC Oluomo. Oluomo was even said to have sent her to Saudi Arabia for holy pilgrimage. She was also rumoured to have dated actor and producer, Kunle Afod. Just few months ago, there gist went round town that she was having an affair with younger brother of Kunle Afolayan, Aremu which she has profusely denied. She is presently rumoured to be in a sizzling romance with top Fuji artiste, Malaika.

Stella Damasus
Nollywood beautiful actress, Stella Damasus is seen by many as the industry ‘good girl’ until she was alleged to have caused the separation of fellow actress, Doris Simeon with her hubby, Daniel Ademinokan. Stella was reported to have started a love affair with Daniel before his marriage with Simeon crashed. Her secret was exposed by a soft sell magazine, which reported that Doris was ready to fight Stella for snatching her hubby. There were also reports that both Daniel and Stella have been seen together in some compromising ways. Though Stella and Daniel have denied having any amorous relationship, but some are still in doubt that their closeness is a business affair.
Bukky Wright
Her failed marriages and romantic affairs with some big wigs in the industry have been a thing for many to feed on. Bukky Wright’s pretty looks has attracted many men to her. The mother of two is surely not free from some scandals associated with the play-acting profession in Nigeria. She has been severally alleged of hoping from one bed to another.

Faithia Balogun
This estranged wife of top Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun, Faithia is surely also not free of some scandals in Nollywood. She was rumoured to have alleged that the lady snatched Ajanaku from her. She was once reported to be in sizzling romance with the Director of Corporate Pictures, Alhaji Abdullahi Razak. It was also reported that this almost destroyed the marriage of the top marketer. One funny thing about Faithia is the fact that she is yet to drop the surname of her former husband, Balogun.

Stephanie Okereke
Stephanie Okereke was reported in 2011 to have fought with Genevieve Nnaji when she reportedly found out that Genevieve had allegedly cornered her link to a man in the presidency she reportedly introduced Geneveive to in the presidency. She was reported to have felt bad that Genny cornered her in getting access to the presidency through a former aide of President Goodluck Jonathan, Douglas Oronto. Stephanie was said to be the only link Genevieve had to Douglas until she found her way through another means. Stephanie has also been linked with some s*x scandals in the past.

Romance / 4 Signs That You Are A S*X Addict by edwindprof(m): 9:06am On Sep 20, 2013
Here are 4 signs you might be a s*x addict and should seek help.

1. Obsession: The person is consumed by thoughts of s*xual activity. That doesn’t mean just thinking about s*x. It means they cannot focus on anything else. They are obsessed with what they are going do next, when it will happen, how they’re going to hide it, etc.

2. Compulsivity: They completely lack control over their compulsion to have s*x. They may have told themselves over and over again that they aren’t going to do it anymore. They really want to stop, but they are unable to.

3. They build up tolerance. It’s just like any other addiction in this way. Like alcohol, at first you only need one drink to get affected. As time goes by you need more and more drinks. With s*x addiction, maybe sneaking a look at P0*n works at first. Then it doesn't do it for you anymore. You might go online after your partner goes to bed. Then you go online at work, then on the phone on the freeway, and then it escalates to self servicing in your car. You have to increase the frequency, intensity and/or risk in order to get that desired effect.

4. They continue the behavior despite the consequences. Even if their spouse threatens to leave them, they’re threatened to be fired or they even get arrested, they keep doing it. They need the rush–no matter what price they have to pay.
Politics / Atiku Abubakar Launched An Online Petition To Advocate An End To ASUU Strike by edwindprof(m): 10:17am On Sep 19, 2013
For the past few weeks I've asked for #EducationSolutions. Top response has been ending #ASUU strike. I agree & think it's time to act.

Today my office is launching an online petition to advocate an end to #ASUU Strike.

This isn't politics. We should never play politics with Education. Our future depends on it. It is time for FG & #ASUU to reach a consensus & get students back to school by ending this strike.

PLEASE SIGN HERE TO END THE #ASUU STRIKE:
http:///vFNPrjRhR2

Like Matthew Ashimolowo would say, " sometimes, the politicians would talk and act as if the people re not seeing and have a short memory to remember the past."

Have a look at a comment by one of his fans:
Qbee Integrator: Pot calling othes kettle. During your reign as the Vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the 6th largest producer of crude oil in the world, ASUU went on strike for a total of 17 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. That was just within 8 years of your administration. With due respect, you are not in the position to launch a petition for innocent Nigerians to sign. Am beginning to smell ATIKU 2015 chicanery campaign again. This time, Nigerians are wise.

Politics / Fight Breaks Out In House Of Reps As Baraje, 7 Govs Meet Lawmakers.. by edwindprof(m): 10:33am On Sep 18, 2013
LAWMAKERS had a violent return to work yesterday, after a long break.

The crises rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spilled over to the House of Representatives, with Abubakar Baraje and Bamanga Tukur factions of the party clashing.

Room 0.28 where a delegation of the Baraje faction was slated to meet with the leadership of the green chamber and brief its loyalists in the new PDP soon became a churning mass of struggling bodies and ripping fabric.

The G-7 governors watched in awe as blows flew and clothes were torn. Members climbed on chairs and jumped on tables. Tempers ran riot as the hall erupted in violence.

Lawmakers from the two factions launched at one another’s throats in an attempt to establish dominance in the hall.

The white flowing robe (Agbada) of Hon. Afees Adelowo (PDP Oyo) was torn into shreds by a former member of the House, Binta Masi Garba and now Women Leader for the Baraje faction, as she sought to stop him from his anti- Baraje chants.

On the right side of the packed hall, a group of pro-Baraje lawmakers exchanged blows with Hon. Henry Ofongo ( PDP Bayelsa).

Ofongo was disrupting the session with his attitude as he shouted: “ Point of Order! Point of Order!” .

Soon, there were pockets of fights in various parts of the hall.

Baraje’s speech was subsequently made inaudible by the incessant chants of the members of the PDP .

They initially began “no! no! no!”, then changed to “Bamanga! Bamanga! “ and “ Tukur! Tukur!”

But the hall became silent when Speaker Aminu Tambuwal took the stand. Members honoured him, giving him an enabling atmosphere to deliver his speech.

Tambuwal said the situation in the PDP puts democracy at risk.

His words: “As politicians and leaders, we’re deeply concerned about developments in the country in recent weeks, especially the face-off within our Party.

“This development, once again, exposed our vulnerability and the status of the culture of inter-party democracy and tolerance. Political parties and the political infrastructure mean that democracy can only flourish when there are strong political parties and well developed institutions and firmly entrenched democratic culture.

“It is important, as politicians, to constantly remind ourselves that the democracy we have belong to entire Nigerians and not politicians alone.

“Indeed, all Nigerians fought to install this democracy and many paid the supreme price in the process. Therefore, we must not by our actions thwart the supreme sacrifices by our heroes past with levity.

“While acknowledging that political parties are vehicles through which we pursue our ambitions and aspirations, we must all conduct ourselves strictly within the confines of our Constitution.

“I wish to caution that Nigerians need peaceful atmosphere to conduct their lives and business endeavours, I make bold to say that we, card-carrying members of political parties, contribute not more than 25 per cent of the population of this country.

“We must, therefore, abstain from heating up the polity unnecessarily; we must not take Nigerians for granted, we must not overreach our goodwill and we must not over task the goodwill of Nigerians.

“Let us, therefore, take conscious effort to allow national interest take the driving seat and not our personal ambitions.

The new PDP members, at a briefing led by Hon. Andrew Uchendu (PDP Rivers), said the action of the PDP members in the House shows the level of lawlessness, impunity and intolerance in the party.

According to Uchendu, who claimed that the New PDP has 108 members and still counting, the action of the G7 was based on the fact that if Nigeria must have direction, the party in power must have direction.

“They formed the New PDP so that Nigerians can heave a sigh of relief,” he said. On the need for the meeting with the Baraje-led executive, Uchendu said it was for a fuller briefing since most of the drama occurred when the House was on recess.

“What happened today at this meeting was what our leaders have been complaining about – reign of impunity, lawlessness, intolerance and lack of courage to agree and disagree.

“Since all of us can’t sit to arrive at the same conclusion, it will make greater sense to have allowed the Baraje-led executive to brief those who are loyal to them.

“But, in their character and in condemnation of all of us, they came in to disrupt the meeting, unfortunately for them, Baraje still went ahead and briefed us,” Uchendu said.

He went on: “This just showed the reign of impunity that has pervaded the entire fabric of our polity and this can’t be allowed to continue. This country belongs to all of us and there must be a new direction, which is what the Baraje-led National Working Committee is out to achieve.”

Asked why he was raising a Point of Order that started the fracas, Henry Daniel-Ofongo said he explained that he only wanted to tell the gathering that the meeting was supposed to be with the Caucus of the House and not for everybody.

“There is freedom of speech; why would they not allow me to air my my opinion. This meeting is supposed to be with the Caucus of the House and for everybody; so why come with a crowd?

“Even those that were not part of the caucus or the executive were there”

A member who pleaded not to be named said the reason for the open forum was to allow for everyone to air their view. “The Speaker was not ready to gag anybody or bar anyone from attending the meeting, which is what democracy is all about,” Daniel-Ofongo said.

Politics / Fight Breaks Out In House Of Reps As Baraje, 7 Govs Meet Lawmakers.. by edwindprof(m): 10:24am On Sep 18, 2013

Education / ASUU Strike Responsible For Increase In Crime Rate – NANS by edwindprof(m): 11:20am On Sep 17, 2013
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has linked the rising wave of crime in the last two months to the idleness of students, who are currently bearing the brunt of the impasse between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), following the strike embarked on by the union.
The students’ body, therefore, appealed to the striking union and the federal government to resume negotiations and ensure quick resolution of the strike, which is now in its 13th week.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Monday, acting Senate President of NANS, Mr. John Shima lamented that about three years of study time had been lost to strikes in the last 10 years.
The lost time, he said, was enough to graduate from an undergraduate course in other climes.
“ASUU and the federal government should go back to the negotiating table. Even after wars, issues are resolved at the round table, Nigerian students are tired of sitting at home,” he said.
Shima added that although the lecturers were protesting the decline of infrastructure in the nation’s universities, the decline was not limited to the universities alone. This, he said, had led to the continual drop in Nigeria’s standard of tertiary education.
“We call for a NEEDS Assessment in our polytechnics and Colleges of Education as was done for the universities to ascertain their level of decay. This may also stop unions in these institutions from embarking on their own strikes,” he said.
The students’ body also appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to urgently appoint a substantive minister to head the education ministry.
The candidate, it added, should be an individual from the education sector, who had exhibited the necessary competence, clear understanding of the sector and has the capacity to command the respect of stakeholder unions in the sector.
“We commend the out-gone education minister, Prof. Ruqqayatu Rufa’i, for doing her best while she served as minister,” Shima said.

Travel / 10 Secrets A Flight Attendant Will Never Tell You! by edwindprof(m): 10:43am On Sep 17, 2013
You probably sense there’s some hidden bureaucracy happening on an airplane — that just a few well-kept secrets stand between you and a much better in-flight experience. You’re right! Here’s what your flight attendant won’t tell you.

1. They throw out the extra wine.
The plane isn’t allowed to have opened, unfinished bottles of wine when they land, so they pour out all extra wine. If you mention you know this, it could be hard for your attendant to deny you a couple extra free glasses.

2.They delay dinner on purpose.

If you’re asleep, your flight attendant is supposed to leave you alone and that means less work. For this reason, the crew will often delay dinner as long as possible on night flights, so that half the plane is asleep and they don’t have to serve that half.

3.You can have first class’s leftovers.
After everyone in first class has been served their meal, a flight attendant could technically give you one of those sought-after leftover meals. It’s worth asking.

4.Nice clothes can get you to first class.
You actually can be upgraded for free to business or first class once the cabin doors have been closed. But here’s a secret: the crew isn’t going to put a slob in stained sweatpants up there, so dressing nice could be your ticket to first class service at economy prices.

5.They’re not on the clock until the doors are closed.
If the crew doesn't seem to care about you until the doors are closed, that’s because they’re not being paid to. They don’t make a dollar until those doors are shut which is also why they rush you to put your bags away and sit down.

6. They’re the law.
They may look unassuming in their pencil skirts and cardigans, but it’s against the law to disobey crew members’ commands. Simply refusing to put your seat up when it’s time could mean a meeting with police when the plane lands.

7. You only think you know turbulence.
Flight attendants laugh when they hear passengers swap stories of “the worst turbulence ever” and “dangerously bumpy flights.” Out of the over 2 million people who fly yearly, there have only been three fatalities due to turbulence in over 30 years, and two of those individuals were not wearing their seat belts.

8. Joining the mile high club is not illega.
That’s right! If you can get away with it, you didn't do anything wrong. That being said, flight attendants almost always know when this is happening, and will ask you to exit the lavatory.

9.They’re sneaking you decaf coffee.
Why would they give you regular if that just means you’ll be awake for hours, wanting snacks, wanting drinks, and asking pointless questions.

10. They’ll intentionally delay flights.
If a flight is delayed, the crew often gets paid overtime. But this only kicks in after a certain amount of delay, so sometimes the crew (after the doors have closed and they are in fact on the clock) will delay take off intentionally.

Sports / Police Fatally Shoot Unarmed Former Football Player Who May Have Been Seeking He by edwindprof(m): 11:18am On Sep 16, 2013
A big black man in the wrong place at the wrong time is going to get shot in America, the brave, land of the free, deluded people might say differently but we know what goes on.

Officer Randall Kerrick, 27, of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) in North Carolina is facing charges of voluntary manslaughter after fatally shooting Jonathan Ferrell, 24, a former Florida A&M football player who had apparently been seeking help after surviving a major car crash early Saturday morning.
CMPD officials called the shooting “excessive.” “Our investigation has shown that Officer Kerrick did not have a lawful right to discharge his weapon during this encounter,” said CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe in a statement. “It’s with heavy hearts and significant regrets it’s come to this… Our hearts go out to the Ferrell family and many members of the CMPD family. This is never something easy.”
The Charlotte Observer reports that the car crash was so severe that Ferrell likely had to “pull himself out” of the wreckage. He then walked to the nearest house, about a half mile away, to seek assistance. But the local resident whose home Ferrell arrived at was frightened that he was attempting to burglarize her after not recognizing him.
The resident then made a 911 call and three officers arrived at the scene. According to police accounts, Ferrell, who is African-American, acted “aggressively” and charged towards the officers. Officer Thornell Little of the Hickory Grove division of the CMPD responded with an unsuccessful attempt to fire his Taser at Ferrell. Police say that when Ferrell continued to charge toward the police, 27-year-old officer Randall Kerrick discharged his weapon several times, eventually killing Ferrell.
Monroe said that he did not believe Ferrell had threatened the woman who placed the 911 call, and that Kerrick’s use of excess force was unwarranted, according to the Charlotte Observer. No signs of alcohol were found at the scene of the wreckage, although officials said an official toxicology report will take weeks.
While the FBI keeps detailed information on the numbers and types of crimes that are committed throughout the United States, there is no comprehensive tracking mechanism for police shootings. FBI spokespeople have said there is no mandate for them to keep such statistics and that it would take an act of Congress in order to establish a database. Congress, so far, has refused to ask for one.

Religion / Anambra Youth Attack 7 Churches, Shoot Worshipers, Set Priests’ Residence Ablaze by edwindprof(m): 8:02am On Aug 28, 2013
Hell was let loose in the early hours yesterday atOba-Ofemmili community in Awka-North Local Government Area of Anambra State, when some youths, suspected to be cultists attacked Christians in their worship places, shot and inflicted machete wounds on over 50 of them.
The attackers also went on rampage, looting and burning churches in the community. Some of the churches burnt include Assemblies of God Church, Grace of God Church, Deeper Life Bible Church, Winners Church, Christ Holy Church, St. Paul’s Catholic Church and another pentecostal church.
The assailants, according to the victims, attackedthe worshippers with dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically and wounding several people. They were said to have invaded no fewer than seven churches, burning and destroying everything within their reach.
A two-year old baby was among the victims.
It was gathered that trouble started in the community over disagreement between the Christians and the idol worshipers on the culturalnight masquerade, a local fetish cult opposed by Christians in the area.
A victim of the incident, who gave his name as Mr Sunday Aliuba, said they were in the church when the miscreants stormed their church, armed with guns and machetes. He said they swooped on the congregation and inflicted machete wounds on them, causing stampede as people struggled to escape from the church.
Hear him: “How it happened was that Oba-Ofemili and the Christians had an agreement that the night masquerades will not start by 9pm, and we were having our programmes according to the rules. But on Monday night, I was at the crusade when we heard that the pagans will burn down all the churches. Around 11pm, they started shooting sporadically into the air, causing everybody to shiver. Around 1.00am on Tuesday, they stormedthe church, and razed down the parish priest’s house and pursued everybody in the church. We hid under the staircase and under the pews.
“In self-defence, we pounced on some of them. As it got hotter, my colleagues ran away. I also ran but they pursued me and shot me in the legs, shattering my ankles and bones. They also inflicted machete wounds on me. The blood that came out of my body can fill two buckets. It is only God that is sustaining my life till now.”
When contacted, the priest of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, whose parish church was razed, Rev. Pat. Odinanwa, said series of efforts made to ensure peace in the community between the church andthe community failed. He said the pagans nursedpathological hatred for Christians in the community. According to him, there were agreements reached between the church and the community, but the pagans sought all avenues to stop Christians from worshiping God in the community.
According to him, over 50 persons sustained gunshot and machete wounds, while seven churches were burnt by the irate youths. He said Christians in the area had been living in fear, as the youths threatened further attack today.
