motorola was noticeably absent from Mobile World Congress this year, but now the company's confirmed we won't have to wait too much longer before we get to see what in the world it's working on. We're excited for what 2018 (and beyond!) is going to bring us and look forward to sharing our first products of the year with you next month! Motorola doesn't offer any insight into what these "first products" will be, but it's expected that the company will use next month to announce the next entries in its Moto G series. The Moto G5 lineup from 2017 was released in March of that year, so the time is right for us to learn more about its successors. In case you haven't heard, we're anticipating Motorola to announce three new Moto G6 phones this year, including the Moto G6, G6 Play, and G6 Plus. All three of the phones will adopt the Moto X4's glass back and metal frame aesthetic, with varying specs across the board. Along with the tease of the new phones, Motorola also announced that it has a new President. Ahmad de Lencquesaing is stepping down and being replaced by Sergio Buniac who's been with Motorola for more than 20 years. $2,100 Huawei smartphone comes with 3 rear cameras, 2 fingerprint readers last night Huawei announced its newest flagship smartphone, the P20 Pro. Whether you want to call it appealing or not is one thing, but it's definitely not your normal smartphone. First, we'll outline the normal config... and then move on to the totally insane "Porsche Design" version. With the standard P20 Pro, it has an iPhone X-style front camera notch and a thick bottom "chin" bezel. It's also one-upping the rest of the smartphone camera world with a whopping three cameras on the back. Huawei is one of the rare smartphone manufacturers with its own SoC manufacturing business, so instead of the usual Snapdragon SoC, the heart of the P20 Pro is a HiSilicon Kirin 970. The Kirin 970 is a 10nm, eight-core chip, with four 2.36GHz Cortex A73 cores and four 1.8GHz Cortex A53 cores providing CPU power. That is paired with a 767MHz Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, 6GB of RAM, a generous 128GB of storage, and a 4000mAh battery in the P20 Pro. There's also a USB-C port, IP67 water and dust resistance, NFC, and an IR blaster. The display is a 6.1-inch, 2240×1080 OLED panel, which works out to an 18:9 aspect ratio and 408 pixels per inch. The front of the phone is a weird mix of design decisions. The top notch houses a front facing camera and matching round earpiece speaker. Usually notched smartphone designs seek to maximize screen space, but the P20 Pro also has a sizable bottom bezel. The bezel houses a front fingerprint reader and nothing else. For navigation, the phone uses on-screen buttons, which erroneously aren't shown in the press renders. The real highlight here is the camera setup, which seems to be going for maximum overkill. The P20 Pro has a first-ever triple camera setup on the back. The main RGB camera is an outrageously large 40MP, 1/1.78-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. This is paired with a 20MP monochrome camera with an f/1.6 aperture and an 8MP, f/2.4 telephoto camera. The overkill mentality applies to the front camera, too, which has a whopping 24MP sensor. This can no doubt render every facial imperfection and skin pore in stunning detail. For colors, the phone comes in black, midnight blue, rose gold, and a crazy "twilight" color, which seems to color shift from purple to green. The software is Android 8.1—the latest version!—with Huawei's heavy EMUI skin slathered on top. EOE TECH

It’s interesting that Huawei chose not to reveal the P20 at Mobile World Congress this year, choosing instead to showcase its new laptop. However, this could indicate it wanted its own event to publicise the new smartphone, instead of being in Samsung’s shadow. Here’s what we know so far about the device. Huawei P20: spec rumours WinFuture has been hot on the specs leaks with the Huawei P20. According to its latest leak, the flagship smartphone is going to have two rear cameras, a trend we're continuing to see with every new release. The two cameras will have 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel lenses. One of the sensors will have an aperture of f/1.6 which will make your low light photography pretty good. The front camera on the smartphone is going to be 24-megapixel, a big upgrade on the Huawei P10. Looks-wise, it will have a premium metal and glass design, with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. Huawei is following in the iPhone X-notch display footsteps with the Huawei P20. The phone is likely to have a 5.8 inch, 2240 x 1080 screen. It’s thought the new smartphone will be 7.65mm thick and will weigh 174g, making it very similar to the rumoured OnePlus 6. As well, the Huawei P20 will likely have 4GM of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s not just the Huawei P20 – look out for the Huawei P20 Pro and Huawei P20 lite Huawei is probably going to be releasing three new smartphones tomorrow: the flagship Huawei P20 as well as its bigger component, the P20 Pro, and a smaller version, the P20 Lite. The P20 Pro is rumoured to have three cameras on the rear of the smartphone, 40-megapixel, 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel. Here’s respected mobile reporter Evan Blass with leaks of how the new devices will look: Huawei P20: price and release date With the new smartphone being unveiled tomorrow, it’s likely the device will be available to buy sometime in April. In terms of price, the P20 is expected to be around £600 in the UK. By comparison, the bigger P20 Pro will be £790, and the P20 lite will be about £320. SOURCE: EOE TECH

Chrome OS tablets have been expected for years, and today Acer and Google are finally teaming up to launch the first ever model: the Chromebook Tab 10. It's pretty standard budget tablet hardware with Chrome OS loaded on it. There's no keyboard—just a touchscreen and a passive Wacom stylus. Google wrote a blog post pitching the device as a new piece of education hardware. Chrome OS notebooks dominate in the education sector, and this tablet easily plugs into that ecosystem, with identical apps and security configurations. The lack of a keyboard will mean that typing out long homework assignments won't be ideal, though. Tomorrow, Apple is holding an education-focused event where it is widely expected to announce a cheaper iPad, and it seems like Google is trying to steal some of educators' attention with this announcement. READ: Nigerians Living Abroad Can Send Mobile Credit to Relatives and Friends in Nigeria Who Use Glo or 9Mobile Prepaid Data The hardware seems like any other non-iPad tablet. You get a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 IPS LCD, Google's "OP1" processor branding (in previous devices, this meant a Rockchip RK3399 SoC), 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 2MP front camera, a 5MP rear camera, and a 34Wh battery. It has a USB-C port, microSD slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. The device ships in April in North America for $329, and it will be available to "education and commercial customers." In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the Chromebook Tab 10 will launch in May for €329, including VAT. SOURCE: EOE TECH

If you're on a specific carrier in a specific country, your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Note 8 may already have the Android 8.0 Oreo update, but many are still waiting. In an update on Samsung's community site, the electronics giant announced a rollout for all S8 and Note 8 phones (including unlocked phones) should be complete within three weeks. "We understand that many of you have Unlocked Galaxy S8/+ and Note 8 devices and may be wondering why those with Carrier models are seeing the updates first," said the forum post. "We're working with our Carriers to get Oreo out to ALL eligible Galaxy S8/+ and Note 8 devices within the next 2-3 weeks." Samsung initially launched the Oreo operating system on the S8 phones in February before removing it as a result of a reboot glitch. The Oreo update has been available on other Android phones for over six months now. Its main selling point is a dramatic increase in speed and an ability to better manage the apps you don't use. Many Samsung users have been frustrated with the rollout delays. The issue is with testing. "The reason for this is that Unlocked devices must go through more rigorous testing than Carrier-specific devices because we need to make sure there is proper network functionality across ALL supported networks." Meanwhile, Samsung's newly released Galaxy S9 range launched with Ore EOE TECH
