This is a misconception,your spouse may or may not be your 'best of the best friends'
For example,a man based abroad comes home for Christmas,and finds a girl that catches his fancy,they get acquainted and it finally leads to marriage,within a few months...does she automatically become his 'best of the best friends'?... NEVER.
Best friend is not a title gotten overnight,unlike husband,wife,boyfriend,girlfriend... It is a function of the degree of closeness(emotional not physical,legal or contractual).
This is what separates the LOGIC from the EMOTION.

Best friend and Lover or partner or spouse are not the same thing...
They may or may not be the same person...
And there is no hard and fast rule that stipulates your partner should be your best friend?...

You can as well use mud in the building and thatch for the roofing... There are cooler than conventional blocks and Zinc/Aluminium...
