Also stop trading with small capital if you are looking at earning a living from it, save yourself from unneccessary urge to trade. I'm talking from experience.

Let me make a rejoinder here. Trading with paltry capital like 50$ and 100$ is too risky and is a delay of the inevitable a blown account. Not that you can't make use of it but in most cases newbies lack discipline and soon the feelings of "how long will I continue to use 0.01 lot" creep in. I stopped trading not because I do not have a good method but my methods allows me to have at least 500 to 1k in my account with a wider stop loss. 10 years back test hard very few losses and forward testing on demo not doing bad. Works well on stubborn JPY pairs and others. For instance I got a signal to sell all JPY pairs since early this month and if I have left those trade till today, that's is 1000+ pips and account doubled. Left alone closing and shorting retracements (if I like) till I get a signal to long.
I say it again and again trading is simple and the most STUPI.D THINGS are what works but the most hardest part is finding your own edge. I am not a good trader

I recommend EA or UJ. JPY = spikes + whipsaws JPY are extremely rewarding especially EJ but I sometimes hate them because of Japanese Govt..they play ping pong with their currency . UJ is cool headed. Yeah EJ and other volatile pairs not good for day traders.

Hmm JPY again...am not surprise at all Never trusted those signals. Jpy are more driven by fundamental policies and BoJ manipulations which technical chart can't pin-point on time. My 1 cent observation.

You can trade all kinds of volatile news and get your 20 or 30 pips. The trading method discuss by the author is a good one and one of the oldest but you have to read all the pages to have a first hand feeling of the method. I don't use it and am not forcing any one to either. Is my best thread on FF though.

It depends on how your broker interpret their lot mechanism. For example, 0.5 in Hotforex means 5$ per pips whereas in other brokers, it could be 5cent or 50cent per pip please try interacting with your broker to know more before you wipe out your account.

You are off to a good start it means you have discovered. I don't trade news but am working on the method. That is no indicator at all but know the schedule.

Take it easy price action is real and there are many approaches to it. Pivots, demand and supply, fibs, open breakout range are base on price action. You have to be selective of the best price because everywhere on your chart they are there. How can I do it? Work work work forex is not easy at all. Price action is what professional use and it will continue to work but be ready to take losses when they show up. Nothing is 100% in forex but a good trading method should be able to recoup for losses, mistakes and above reward usually higher than risk. Stay cool.

Ok dropping this few excerpts lines from my best thread on forexfactory & summarize as follows:


1. Trading is not a video game. Trading cannot be reduced to a mathematical formula. Trading is the hardest easy thing there is. Trading is the simplest most complicated things there is.

2. If nine things have to line up before you can make a trading decision, you are not doing it right.

3. If a trader says the market changed and their method no longer works they are simply saying that they had a gimmick that lasted for a while but the market caught on. If you are trading a gimick beware. A good method is too dangerous to fail. Works in all market conditions: ranging and trending.

4. You will know you are trading really with a good method when most of your trades have their entries fall within the wicks of the candles. The best methods have small draw downs and spend very little time around the entry price.

5. Compounding is the secret to riches, not swinging for the fences.
