If the bank has collected the payment then wait till tomorrow and log back to your profile by clicking pending appointment which will take you to a calendar to pick your date.
If you meant that the bank send you back then go and login to your AVITS, click on pending appointment and it will take you to where you stopped the last time and you will be able to generate another payment advise (teller).
OR : Click on pending appointment and cancel it and start all over again. Ciao.

If you have paid MRV over the counter you are not supposed to go back to AVITS login immediately. Wait till after 24hrs.
Login by 2 p.m noon tomorrow and click on " Pending Appointment " It will take you to calendar to pick a date. Good LucK.

In this AVITS era, traveling together as a family or group (although no more group appointment for Nigerians) is a very delicate application if you do not want to give away approximately 900k (visa fee for three pple) to the US embassy without attending interview.

YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS .

ONE: When filling your application you will have to list your family members who are traveling with you and avits will calculate your MRVs together eg 900k for three persons and that is what you are expected to take to the bank to pay. Do not allow the bank to tell you to pay the money individually, you have to pay it together and collect 1-payment receipt. otherwise you will have insufficient payment on avits.

TWO. Do the whole application individually. That means that each person will pay his/her visa fee solely and have different mrv payment receipts. NOTE : You can do your own on your profile while your husband and kids do theirs in the husband's profile. OR : Do everything in your profile but you have to start from your own as the principal applicant and start those of others after you must have secure a date. Ciao.

Yes the US embassy (AVITS also corroborate) stipulates that you must have completed your ds-160 before you make an attempt to book an appointment.
Not following the rule (probably) might cause a delay in granting your desired appointment date
However, that is not the cause of the USER INACTIVE, the cause is that you did not go back to your email and verify AVITS activation link sent to you.
Click on forgot password on AVITS and go to your email to copy the activation link which will grant you access to change your password. Good LucK.

The Abuja consular would send you back to Lagos and you will have to pay another MRV in order to re-attend the Lagos interview because you have only 1- free reschedule options for 221g.
Your 221g case (and possibly your travel passport and other documents) are retained or detained in Lagos therefore the Abuja consular will not have any info to continue your case
You should have requested (from the Lagos post) that your 221g case be transferred to Abuja before you pull the stunt. I even doubt iif your request application would be granted .
It seems you will purchase another MRV to reschedule back to Lagos. Ciao.

The only set of F1-visa applicant who can easily get denied without a form of funding from their host-institution are PhD applicants.

For Bsc & MSc, you can satisfy POF (proof of funds) with funding from the school or any other reliable and verifiable sources.

Since your mum is capable of providing your deficit i do not see any reason for you to worry about.
What you should worry about is how to express your genuine intention of study to the consular and your ties to Nigeria . Even with your good ties and availability of funds, you must still satisfy the inner conscience of the consular that you will not change your mind when you get to America. Ciao.

When you get to the educational part on ds-160 click on " Add " and fill your secondary school info. When you are through , scroll downward and cick on " Add " again and fill your University info.
You can click on Add as many time as you want and fill all your school (different schools you have attended) info then click save or next to the other page.

Your best choice could be STEM-MBA. All other choices might require you to provide a science orientated High-school certificate & transcripts or Science transcripts from your recent school.

Career advice depends on your life goal and achievement outlines, you will have to determine what you really want. If your future goal is to work with NGO or religious organisation (ie Catholic charities) you can further with your MSc in Religious studies. Good LucK.

You cannot sue or take legal actions against the US embassy (regarding visa issues) because they did not give the opportunity in the beginning and they are just too wise in their dealings.
For example , you applied for US visa and qualified but your nickname (eg Petengine ) tallied with the nickname of a wanted US criminal and the US embassy want to verify that you are not the one or you do not have any connections with the wanted person.
In the investigation, the criminal was in a prison in Mexico and on getting to Mexico they said the criminal is dead or has escaped. This is one of the twisted scenarios that makes 221g last for years. Just keep praying for positive result .

You acted in the right way (by waiting for her to ask). You don't pre-do what the consular officer did not ask you to do, doing that would have counted as a trick or hastiness. She did not need any document from you .
221g decisions is unpredictable depending on each cases. The official timeline is 60 -days. It can however be sorted out within a week or lasted till 1 year.
Embassy may not even be verifying what we think they are verifying but that is another topic.

It is not a new policy but a new awakening from the US embassy. Consulars have heard too many same stories of coming back to take higher position and having worked for many years in a particular company or organisation.
Both qualified and unqualified F1-visa applicants says almost the same, hence the US embassy does not want to deny the innocent unnecessarily (like B4) by now verifying (placing you on 221g) the trend. Good LucK.

You have been placed on 221g (temporary refusal) in order to verify some details.
You qualified for the visa based on your convincing communication with the consular, as well as the information you depicted in your ds-160.
However, there is a lot of emphasis on your job and employer (which is what you used in convincing the interviewer). That is what the embassy wants to verify. Once cleared, your visa will be issued. Good LucK.

Your parent's passport is enroute (DHL Akure). They have to sort the passport out, register it and assign it to a delivery van.
You should not expect it very quickly except you have paid for express delivery. Good Luck.

You are not uploading any supporting documents into AVITS except in the case you want to create a ticket and attach error evidence.
All you need to register and book appointment on avits is your bio data,mrv payment, and ds-160 confirmation number . Well, maybe you are refering to immigrant visa application where you can track your case on ceac.state.gov.

So I tried sending a message to support asking them to make the correction for me since I can't do it myself. So now the issue is that I have already book an appointment date.

Fill another ds-160 entirely. After that login to your AVITS profile and open a ticket (attach your new ds-160 by asking the US embassy to update your new ds-160).
After 2-days login to your AVITS profile and re-print your visa appointment letter.
By this, you will notice your new ds-160 confirmation number inside your new printed visa appointment letter (automatic update).
Attend your interview with the new ds-160 confirmation and the new printed appointment letter . Good LucK.

I have a deficit of 2748 dollars, my health insurance and general fee was partially covered. But my tuition, non residence fee, some other fees was completely covered alongside a $13,400 stipend too.

I’m currently filling out my I-20 paperwork and there’s a part that says “Does this amount cover the total financial support necessary for your first year of study as outlined above?”
When I say “No” I’m asked to provide a bank statement. At the same time I can’t say yes because I have partial general fee and health insurance

My uncle was supposed to let me use his bank statement for his deficit but he said he can’t be of help anymore.

Someone advised me to be self funded. I should put about $5,000 in my savings account and send over my bank statement for my I-20. Please would you guys advise me to do that? Because I know when filling a de -160 form I would be asked about my salary which I would say is 150-200,
So how is it possible I have 5000 dollars in my account. Also I can look for a way to get the money by next week. It would reflect on my bank statement that I just put the money. Would it not be sketchy. ?

Don't derail out of your FormI-20 annotations. If your uncle has disappointed you then you have to look for the best alternative.
Look for the bank statement to the tune of the deficit ($2,748) . I can be of assistance in this aspect . If you do otherwise you would have compromised your Form I-20 info. Good LucK.

You can only retrived the confirmation page of an already submitted ds-160. Since you said it's more than 6- months then you can fill a new one.

Hi Nora99. Your business does not have to be registered before you can secure a B2 visa . You can be a petty trader in a local market or a woman with established supermarkets.

Any of the above, what you need to prove to the US consular is the genuineness of the sources of money and availability of such money to cover your trip.

Another thing to prove to the consular is genuine reason / purpose of travel. Must you attend the graduation? Are you representing your family ? Or you are the MC on the day of the ceremony?

You also have to proof ties. Why should the consular trust you that you will return back to Nigeria ? Do you have husband, and kids who re attending schools ? Do you have a million naira project you are presently doing on your photography? Have you spent more than 2 weeks outside of Africa and return before ? Etc.

Lastly, majority of applicants qualified for visas but they lacked communication skills.. If you cannot express yourself well in the presence of the consular he/she will summon to the next applicant. Good LucK.

It is not okay (because you are deliberately breaking the rules) but it is permissible (in the sense that you will still be interviewed ) providing that you are with AVITS appointment letter.

You will however pay the price as a negligence or dishonest visa applicant (when the interviewing officer is looking for a tiny excuse to deny you).

Those who can easily go away with such antics are those on medical emergencies. Good LucK

If you are not in a haste all your payment or profile issues can be sorted out but if you think you don't have time and want to make it snappy it's okay.

All payment options are better but card payment is the fastest. If you pay successfully today you can be granted calendar view in few hours . If you are absolutely sure of your card effectiveness okay you can go ahead.

That is a risky adventure. Don't give anyone money to pay on your behalf except your family member. I can sort the profile issues for you but you will still go and pay your MRV in-person at the bank. Don't worry it will work fine this time .
Why are you insisting on Card payment ? All you need is successful payment and appointment confirmation. Physical payment at the bank will do that just fine . Good LucK.

You did not start the whole process appropriately in the beginning. Card payment is faster but it usually comes with issues if your card is not absolutely guaranteed for prompt payment . In that case i usually recommend physical payment at the bank which has never failed me
.

Cancelling all pending appointments will not solve your issues automatically but it will take burden of multiple profiles off your neck so that you can abandon that profile and open another one. May be you need experienced person to guide you. But opening another profile will solve your issue.

Cancel all pending appointments on your current profile and abandon it. Then open another avits profile entirely. When paying your MRV go and pay it physically (by cash) in the banK. Good LucK.

Your kind of F1 preparation idea cannot work for a visa success . How can you be equipping yourself with only the question of what has changed ? How did you know the consular will ask you such question? For your information, US consular officers will not ask a returning visa applicant such a litigation question. What has changed can only be proved in your visa application (ds-160).

Your previous f1-visa denial reasons as narrated above is also a generalisation . 214b denial slip does not give any reason. It only gives a generalized reasons based on ties , finance and intention.

Go through this thread thoroughly and research all transripts related to your case. We have seen some MSc & PhD visa applicants with full fundings getting visa denials. Don't go with those your idea and answers. they looked premeditated. Good LucK.

On getting there, the VO asked for my sponsor’s annual salary and I said the truth, intending to say he had saved up some more for my education (the one he has saved up being the part my uncle will contribute). Her countenance changed immediately I said his annual salary and she denied the visa. Going for 2nd degree instead of advancing in education has to be absolutely facilitated by a career change and you must have spent at least 3 successful years in the career. Otherwise, the consular will regard your new academic sojourn as for immigrant intent.

Your dad and your uncle were listed in your i-20 as co-sponsors but in your ds-160 you misrepresented that fact by omitting your uncle. Dont you know that your american school is communicating with the US consular through your I-20 ?

If your uncle had entered the US legally through F1 visa and graduated and become a citizen tell me what crime has he committed?

I dont know the occupation of your dad (as filled in your ds-160) but the consular did not beleive that your dad's annual salary can cover your 70k deficit, therefore you should have sticked with your joint sponsors and not contradicted yourself.

In your next interview, fill your ds-160 with the absolute truth , mention both father and uncle as co-sponsor and gét necessary finnacial document from both party.

NOTE: You still have to prove the honesty of your 2nd degree to the consular officer .
