"Ye are the "light"of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid."--- Matthew 5:14
To my beloved brethen in Christ, my esteemed Nairaland youths who presently feel despondent, downcast, suppressed, oppressed and repressed......................
That "light" is finally here. A ray of hope that permeates through perversive darkness. An illumination that sears through the murky waters of ignorance. A glowing enitity that has cast its beams on the trajectory of oblivion and has brought sanity to multitudes.
For those of you that might think for a split- second that I reek of stereotype or I've literally resorted to being hyper-effusive of this rare gem, you need to garner first hand experience of him to erase every iota of doubt and paranoia conceived.
This vessel of God smacks of unparalleled, fleckless brilliance. His spiritual acumen knows no bounds. His scriptural insight, incisiveness and succinct discernment is astounding. That man is none other than His Spiritual Eminence, Pastor Wale Adegboyega.
Youth Ministry Overseer, Pastor, marriage and relationship counsellor, advisor, confidant, mentor and role model, Pastor Wale is moving neighbouring and distant climes for Jesus.
Buoyed by his amiable, empathetic and avuncular gestures, equipped with his appealing, infectious smiles and oratory prowess, imbued by the indispensable power of the Holy Ghost, Pastor Wale's calling and anointing has handed hope to the hopless and hapless, reprieve to the disadvantaged, respite to the condemned and down-trodden and adminstered doses of admonishment to the vulnerable. His teachings and indelible counsels has availed succour to the heart-broken and distraught.
Against the backdrop of moral decadence which has pillaged, ravaged and undermined the potentials and prospects of the 21st century youths with reckless abandon, his selfless disposition has helped mopped up the stigma that accompanies the indulgence- and attendant trails of debauchery, indiscriminate sex and wrong, impaired choices.
As if the aforementioned doesn't suffice, his unwavering, uncompromising, unalloyed stance with the precepts of the Holy Bible is quite inspirational. He just won't trade any maxim or theory for the word of God- no matter how logical, expedient or practical it appears. He eats, breathes and meditates on the world's most complete manual.
To my fellow nairaland youths, presently wallowing in the anguish of a toxic relationship; that lady out there who's being a subject of domestic violence at the hands of her devious boyfriend/fiance, that guy on the verge of getting hooked up to a knife (instead of a potential wife), to those struggling to rid themselves of the clutches of wrong choices, you just stumbled on panacea and the soothing antidote. As for those who persistently flounder in their respective relationships, mother luck just smiled on you.
The rationale behind introducing Pastor Wale to the community is not far sought. I graciously want you'all to benefit immensely from the innumerable grace numerous youths across the globe have enjoyed courtesy His ministry.
Pastor Wale, as led by the Holy Spirit, is the overseer of a flourishing and teeming youth ministry called the "Glorious Youth Fellowship", situated at Agbado vicinity, a suburb of Ogun State. The ministry holds a youth conference every Sunday from 4-6pm. Issues our youths grapple with ranging from sex, dating, relationships to excellence in various spectres are being discussed- with a view to reaching a scriptural conclusion. Furtherance to this, a major event is slated for every last Sunday of the month which commences by 3pm prompt. This month's (June) is tagged "Handling Temptations". As you access him via his offical whatsapp handle (+234 803 563 6461), you're within touching distance of attaining liberation.
Dear nairalanders, salvation has arrived. Deferment, procrastination and delay is no longer. Save someone from an ailing relationship. Save someone from a failed marriage! That time is now!!!!!
EducationThe Ordeal Of My Girlfriend. by effervescent(op): 10:11pm On Jun 02, 2016
I'd eschew beating about the bush. My girlfriend happens to be amongst the latest influx of freshers accepted for the yet to commence academic session @ O.A.U (much touted as "Oba Awon Unifasiti right?). She arrived the hostel vicinity with a view to settling, acclamatizing and adapting to her newest ambience last Friday, the 27th of May. She however was taken aback when she discovered the primary source of water is not hygienic for cooking and drinking. Right now as I type, she's indisposed alongside her friends. She also told me she's emaciated. I felt so helpless, incapacitated and feeble, despondent having got wind of the news. Almost immediately, I remembered Nairaland and just thought someone with the capacity to intervene 'll stumble on this and rid "my baby" and her distraught contemporaries from this travail and imbroglio. Can someone please talk to the appropriate authorities? I'd be more than elated if this issue is treated with urgency and expeditiously. From a concerned nairalander (effervescent) who so much feels despondent at the sight of an ailing individual.

I tried purchasing the noun form(undergraduate) for 2016/2017 on Friday but was taken aback when the attendant asked for an rrr (remitta) code. TV/MoviesTopnotch Yoruba Movies 2015 by effervescent(op): 9:42am On Dec 07, 2015
Some folks resent the yoruba nollywood and/or movie industry for their shoddy scriptwrights, below par cinematography and needless, baseless sequels. However, I did create some opportune time to see a handful of Yoruba movies which has helped changed my perception about the industry. In no definite order, this is a list of very enthralling yoruba movies I've seen this term. You bet, they're worth your time and efforts. They are:
1) ORO(Word): Star cast; Odunlade Adekola, Wunmi, Ajiboye, Segun Ogungbe, Afeez Abiodun

2) B'OGIRI O LANU: Star Cast; Fathia Balogun, Afeez Oyetoro, Odunlade Adekola, Mercy Aigbe

3) OSUPA: Dramatis Personae; Bukky Wright, Muyiwa Ademola, Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan. - not only is this work very thrilling and suspense-imbued, it's star studdedness is jaw-dropping!

4) Ewawunmi: Dramatis Personae; Niyi Johnson, Ibrahim Chatta, Lanre Teriba(yeah, the renowed yoruba gospel artiste)

5)Ibusun: Dramatis Personae; Muyiwa Ademola, "Sanyeri", "Kamilu kompo". Has a village setting but it is very interesting and educative.

6)Irawo Osan: Cast; Odunlade Adekola, Kemi Afolabi, Fausat Balogun.

7) KuruKuru: Cast; Odunlade Adekola( this guy sha), Yewande Adekoya(of Kudi Klepto fame), Kemi Afolabi. This movie is literarily suspense- imbued . Awaiting the part 2 in anticipation.

You can add yours. When you're done with the afore-outlined, thank me later. *winks*

" A woman is a full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform"- Darie Mariechild.
"Charm is deceptive and beauty does not last ; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.-Proverbs 31:30

God has never ceased to bless me in all spheres. My fortuitous rapproachment with you sometimes April last year has constituted a blessing of profound and diverse proportions.
Friends and contemporaries keep probing me as to why I have always been effusive of you- flaunting you like a prestigious accolade. My succinct response? You're exquisite. A paradigm enigma. A seamless combo of beauty and brain. To summarize, you're impeccably made.
Your radiant epidermis is akin to the glowing sun. Your finely cut, chinese-esque face is devoid of blemishes and dents. Your overall phenotypical projections has made you a cynosure of every discerning eyes. Your silk smooth, soothingly sonorous, crisp-clear voice which has lent credence to your subtle eloquence and vocal prowess leaves me awed.
Truth be told, however, the afore-stated features has really not been what has endeared you to me. What then has?
In our extant age and clime where varying spates of moral decadence has become ignoble, and the subject of discourse amongst frivolous youths borders on ephemeral issues, triflings and wanton debauchery, your astonishing intelligence as per communicating your thoughts on substantial issues was what I initially spotted. Corrollary to this, I have been convinced for the umpteenth time that (s)he whose wit is below par should be ready to be boxed to wits ends when taking on you. Your adeptness just like your glamour, has no parallels.
As if all these cannot suffice, you're relatively submissive, literarily amiable and practically level-headed and emphatetic. A friend of mine recently affirmed that your person appeals to her-for unfathomable reasons. I am always left astounded at the poise and aura with which you portray yourself. You've never for once, allowed the frenzy that accompanies beauty get into your head. The ambience around you when honoured a visit last Sunday was pervasive with furtive glances, hush talks et al- all centred on this "quintessential queen".
My beloved friend, Toyin, self acclaimed as "Maverick", I am seizing this medium to express my gargantuan thanks for refining me. You're indeed worthy of emulation in all spectres. That you've weathered many storms, surmounted travails and ursurped odds corroborates your resilience. Not many people possess the "Rock of Gibraltar" mien you own. I will never forget those words of yours that has helped me overcome inertia-" keep fighting", "you can always do better", "be optimistic"!
You were amongst the very few who didn't see my "verbosity" as grandiloquence. You kept enjoining me to see my passion for words as a penchant that can be harnessed to yield positive dividends.I presume you haven't forgotten in a hurry how a sense of fulfilment engulfed me sequel to writing my first ever article for my blogger friend(rouvafe..com) I am forever indebted to your encomiums, acknowledgements, critique and admonishment. Your appreciable prevalence on my existence cannot be overemphasized.
On your part, you are also always open to constructive criticism. Your insatiable zeal for learning is jaw-dropping. You are an all in all, my dear. Your stance, altitude, disposition and bearing has discountenanced the "weaker vessel" notion used to brand feminine folk. On the backdrop of these, I have never ceased re-iterating that blessed is he who eventually walks you down the aisle- for he has found an incalculable treasure; a colossal jewel. He would know no distraught all the days of his life given the appealing plethora of qualities and prospects imbued in you.
As you add another graceful year today( the 5th December,2015) , I wish you a largesse of goodies life can possibly offer. Keep being an indispensable asset to all and sundry. Keep illuminating the path of every astute being. I charge you to remain unalloyed in your resolve to affect and impact lives positively. I so vehemently wish we had scores of your ilk dispersed across the universe. It would have been more gratifying to be an inhabitant of planet earth. Happy birthday to the lass who's being the most explicit definition of "uniqueness" I have stumbled on in recent times. Keep waxing stronger! May the Most High keep proliferating you in your positive endaevours It will forever be my pleasure to be your foremost cheerleader! Te amo soigne! Chinko mi owon!!
On a final note, I am painstakingly seizing this platform to enjoin every men folk to always appreciate, cherish and hold in laudable esteem every shrewd, pragmatic, diplomatic, resourceful and enterprising lady they stumble on. I have been gifted one of the best confidant and cheerleader in my mum, she birthed a relatively amiable daughter-though she can be seldom obstinate and recalcitrant, I can't compromise her for anything in the world! Let us(guys, lads, men) also learn to be their most stringent critic- in love. As Oscar Wilde once opined, "women are made to be loved, not understood".
Cc: Dear moderators, help forward this to front page. I want all Nairalanders and the world by extension to meet the lady who helped change my perception of "the ideal woman"
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)What's Gotten Over Matic? by effervescent(op): 7:53pm On Oct 03, 2015
Don't be misconstrued as I am a staunch gunner faithful. However, this minute, I am resorting to eschewing bias and prejudice, and be logical and objective. I have always rated Nemanja Matic as the 2nd best midfield enforcer- only to Yaya Toure- in English top flight-even over my darling, Coq. However he appears very lethargic, underwhelming, lackadaisical, lukewarm and harrowing. He's conjured up strings of distasteful performances. The serb's display leaves little to be desired. What could have possibly gone wrong? We're all in tandem with the fact that it was the same coach(Mou) who tutored him last campaign. Is there any prevalent factor responsible for his dip in form?

I still find it very hard to come to terms with issues like this. How can one possibly or plausibly cheat on a woman you fervently claim to love from the in-depth of your heart? And as for men being branded polygamous and philandering in nature, I think cheating/flirting is a man's NURTURE, not his NATURE. I stand to be opposed.

Only yesterday, I noticed two of my friends concurrently changed their BBM display names to Ademola-sneh and Abigael-sneh respectively. In tandem with this recent development, I suppose every Tomiwa, Dickson and Harry 're taking the cue from YBNL boss, Olamide as he uttered the slang incessantly in his latest material, "Lagos boys". #sneh-mania #joining the sneh bandwagon.

TV/MoviesHow To Download Videos From You Tube by effervescent(op): 8:56pm On Sep 09, 2015
Some people are oblivious and unknownst to the fact that aside streaming of visuals, video footage et al from renowned cyber-site, the Youtube, one can also download videos of your choice from the site-courtesy another cyber-site, Savefrom.net. Without mincing words, let me give you the simple guidelines.
1) Search for the video, footage or movie of your choice on youtube e.g to download the expendables 3, click on search(a lens icon) and type "Expendables 3 in the box. Click and await the choice video to appear.

2) Click on the selected visual like you want to stream and watch. Click on your "return" keypad on your device(without waiting for the video to display) and copy the "URL" that appears at the top of your phone browser(yes, phone browser preferably. This guideline is not compatible with 3rd party applications like uc browser and opera mini)

3) To redirect d copied URL, open the other website, savefrom.net and paste d Url in the box provided. Click on the right hand side of d box and await the video capture to display below.

4) Having displayed, you'll b afforded a variety of video file formats underneath the capture (3gp 144p, 3gp 240p, Mp4 360p, Mp4 720p etc) to download from.
I do prefer the 3gp 240p format because it's quite conservative(u can get a visual of an hour duration for 100MB) and the video appears quite clear(although not crisp clear as the mp4 format which has huge MB demands) and devoid of scrambles. Click on your option, download, see, enjoy and forward the videos to your folks and pals.

SportsMy Post-morterm On Arsenal-newcastle by effervescent(op): 4:56pm On Aug 29, 2015
Another own goal was the difference. Without mincing words, Arsenal's overall output was lethargic, underwhelming, lacklustre, harrowing and shambolic. The synergy and cohesion just wasn't there. I have told my fellow Arsenal faithfuls in my vincinity that Walcott is not a proven forward. Fine, he might possess blistering pace which even seems undermined by his injury-laden career, but he completely lacks an Aguero, Suarez-esque predatory instinct. He came close on two occasions before paving way for Monseiur Olivier(imagine the way he ballooned the ball when he was clear on goal from a rebound). In addition to his paucity of insatiable predatory acumen, he is devoid of the physical attributes which is a requisite for a centre forward who intends to keep firing on all cylinders in the highly intense and energy-sapping, pacy EPL. Only God knows why the ref didn't point to the spot when Bellerin was hacked down. Cech was on holiday as sissoko, thauvin posed meagre threat. Aside his shot which was parried into the path of Ox, Ramsey looked out of sorts. I fear for Coquelin. Sometimes when I stare @ the assiduous, workaholic dogfighter, I feel Arsenal is just a "coquelin-injury" away form enduring a much more miserable campaign. He was the subject of vicious and horrendous tackles and infringements for the entire duration. I was so pertrified @ the thought of rupturing his fibula or ankle. Kos and the back four were rarely threatened. I think we missed ozil's incisive vision and sublime, deft touch. Santi wasn't able to deliver much of those pin-point Ozil-esque passes from deep. Barring his occasional runs down the right and his deflected effort , Ox also seemed anonymous. Sanchez was fizzy, effervescent as ever but had nothing substantial to show for his effort. And what did Monsieur Giroud have to offer when he got a came on in the final twenty minuteshuh He squandered a last ditch effort. I couldn't agree better with Henry's constructive and subtle castigation of his compatriot. Giroud is not substantial enough to lead the offensive if we're to mount a genuine title challenge this campaign. Sometimes I even avow he's worse off than Walcott. Wenger still has 2 days in the transfer window @ his mercy to salvage the status quo. Coquelin sorely and direly needs an adequate backup. I wish wenger had recruited Morgan Schneirdelin back then prior to Man united stepping into the fray. I'm afraid, Arteta and flamini are way past their hey days and they fit the bill no longer. I really don't know how authentic Arsenal's link to the Polish combative midfielder @ Sevilla is. The onus also solely lies on wenger to land a centreforward. I preferably wish he could acquire Cavani given his stupendous goal ratio for Napoli et PSG. We have been pitted against the Bayern Munich, Zagreb and greek giants Olympiakos. A capital one cup clash under the guise of a north London derby is also imminent. The team's morale should be boosted with applaudable inclusion to their ranks. The time is now wenger!!! I can vouch for the fact that Ardent supporters of the red side of North London as me won't settle for less this season. The back to back FA cup wins should serve as a pedestal for landing other much coveted silverware. We can't afford to keep portraying underwhelming displays. We can't afford to be complacent. I hope and pray all of our boys experience a campaign bereft of injuries. The return of Wilshere and Wellbeck will improve our depth in midfield cum attack. I fink our defence doesn't need any major overhaul following Gab's impressive displays against Liverpool and today.Contrariwise, Chambers cut a jittery and unnerved figure on Monday. The time is now Wenger!!! Bolster our midfield and attack and let's hope for subsequent stellar performances. COYG!!!!!!!!!
