Unemployment isn't new in Nigeria, three months, six months and even one year of being unemployed is not new. Your offence is waatching movie by that time of the day. I won't even take that. There are productive times of the day. If your mom had seen you reading , doing chores , or praying she won't react that way. If you must watch GOT, why not wait till they are out ? I only watch movies at night. As for those shouting leave the house ! Its not a sin staying with your parents. They'll understand you better than squatting with group of guys that might mislead you. All you need do is behave urself as an adult that you are and let them know you are trying hard to be independent. So many people left their homes cause they want to be independent only to return home after months. Maybe the landlord of the boysquarters where they were squatting evicted them. Be wise Bro. When you feel its time to leave, save up some money and rent ur own apartment you can afford so you don't go back to parents.
Sensible comment from you a nigga!

Those of you saying leave home, where to? Your parents know how the labour market is right now and it's only psychotic parents that will expect their kids to leave home after NYSC. No wonder most youths end up doing fraudulent activities, squatting with people who don't want them and being treated like nonentities. Where you are going to live, ain't you going to contribute anything? So why not do same at home?

It is the responsibility of parents to care for their children, provide security for them. Nothing is ever too much for your kids, until a child find his way in life, a parent is responsible. Too bad African parents breed kids to care for them when they grow, irrespective of their financial capabilities.

What you need to do is to start acting like an adult living at home. Go and find some manual jobs, volunteer in churches, foundations anywhere they need help. Ask if your parents need help with anything, repair jobs, errands etc...

The menial jobs you do here and there will allow you have pocket money so not to depend on your parents for little things. As long as you have a roof and food, you can save money and re-strategize.

Just don't be lazy staying at home, simple!
I love your comment. Very realistic and exactly what I was thinking. I wonder where these parents want the youths to go to after NYSC. After all, they are part of the reason why some youths are at home with this there "go to school and get a job mentality". They should be able to more than anyone else understand the situation of the labor market now and not unnecessarily pressurize their wards. The youths on the other hand should also make moves and don't just sit at home. Find something to do, anything: teaching, volunteer work and internships and gain your respect. In fact, just find anything that'll make you leave your parents house in the morning. On that note, I'll say part of these mentality comes from that African mind set where we take care of our kids so that they'll take care of us in the future. That mentality. Their savings, pension and other investments should be used to cater for them in their old age. As for me, I'll take care of my kids until I know they are strong enough to be independent.

There are so many rumours out there so I decided to add this video on reshoot rumours too. The highlights of the video include:

1. Darkseid's cameo has been removed
2. Lex Luthor's scenes have been removed
3. Deathstroke scenes have been removed
3. Superman gets more screentime
4. Steppenwolf's death has been abruptly changed
5. Cyborg and his father gets more screentime.
6. Cyborg's moody role has been lightened up
7. Of Course, Wonder Woman gets more roles

Warner Bros is very reactionary and I hope this JL project won't tank in the end.

Is green lantern going to cameo? He should lest I'd be dissappointed in Warner Bros.
TV/MoviesNollywood And Its Fondness For Comedy Films by efilimu(op): 4:30pm On Aug 19, 2017
Nollywood has come a long way since the release of Kenneth Nnebue’s Living in Bondage in 1992. If you ask me, I

would say that Nollywood has experienced two major eras since its inception.

The first is the period between 1992 and 2007, during this period most films went straight from the cutting room

directly into home video release. To stakeholders, movie producers and actors, it was more about quantity than quality

and you’d rarely see Nollywood films in the cinemas during this period. They had less exposure and audiences didn’t

go beyond the confines of your living room. For instance, how many Nollywood movies did you see in the cinemas pre 2007?

However, from this period, the industry witnessed a boom with the quality of films being dished out to Nigerian

audiences. A new crop of directors, producers took Nigerian films to another stage. We now had film trailers on

television, on billboards, premieres and you could see your favorites movie stars at a theater near you. Our films were

screened to audiences worldwide. It was the start of a revolution Film reviews became a big deal and box offices and failures could be tracked.

But amidst this Nollywood revolution, economic recession, countrywide unemployment angry, corruption and a country

that’s constantly on the brink of a break up, one genre has stood out among others. That is Comedy! No surprises given

the mounting issues the average Nigerian faces, which as a result we are constantly are looking for the nearest

opportunity to laugh out our sorrows grin even when some times these films offer nothing new. In addition to that, the box

office results tells no lies.

Popular Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun has capitalized on this by carving out his own niche of Holiday-location-

themed films like 30 Days in Atlanta, A trip to Jamaica and what nots.

While last year's Banky/Adesua Romantic Comedy The Wedding Party lit up the box office and is one of the talked about

films of 2016. Then on television we can rest assured look forward to the rib-tickling grammar of Jenifa and friends.

AY’s 30 days in Atlanta broke all box office records by grossing more than a 100 million naira back in 2014.

The Wedding Party grossed 453 Million naira on a 60 million naira budget

BB Sasore Banana Island Ghost is on its way to become a bonafide hit.

What does this mean for other film genres in Nollywood? Is it only comedy films that are the most popular and capable of driving audiences in
droves to Ikeja City Mall?

Case in point:

1.Kunle Afolayan’s October 1st:
One of the most viewed on DSTV (Multichoice) at the time of its release, but there is no official record for the film’s revenue save for the directors words on the film’s profitability.

2. Half of a Yellow sun:
Budget of 10 million dollars with a revenue of 2 miilion dollars at the box office.

3. The high percentage of non-comedy films that go by unnoticed at the box office

From the data above, any quality film can garner waves in Nigeria, but comedy is a sure hit. And going forward, we are

going to see more laughter themed films appear in droves at cineplexes. This also means that it is going to take a while

before other genres can enjoy the successes of comedy films.

Even stakeholders have acknowledged this as a potential problem. Below is an excerpt from Omotola’s interview with Broadway TV while

promoting her film Alter Ego:

“I hope Nigerians would prove the world wrong that all we want to just do is laugh in the cinema,”.

“Of late, that has been the story, that, ‘oh you know , people just don’t want to think, people don’t want anything that

would make them remember their woes or think about anything that’s happening in the society. They just want to

laugh out their sorrows and go away.”

“But, I think Nigerian are bigger than that. I think we are very intelligent people. I think if you give them something that

makes them feel good, and makes them feel intelligent and something that’s worth their time, I feel like they will come

out to support it.”

Her statement is mere wishful thinking and Nigerian audiences haven’t evolved with respect to their fondness for

comedy films. However, she’s right by saying that by saying Nigerians will appreciate a non-comedy film if it is done

well. Here’s to hoping that happens in the future.

**********COPIED******* DCEU LEAKS REDDIT

SPOILER ALERT!!
DCEU FANBOY NATION! Lol. Take it with a Grain of Salt.
So I had the greatest night last night, I seen JUSTICE LEAGUE!!! Yes de Justice League movie, directed by Zack Snyder, that one! Quick story about how I seen it. I attend private screenings for movies, since 2014. I love both DC & Marvel but my heart belongs to DC. The first private screening I attended was for a movie called ''The Imitation Game''. Since then I've attended screenings for Rogue One, Age Of Ultron, Logan Lucky, Annabelle: Creation, Lego Batman etc... I never got to attend a screening of BVS or SS but I did get to attend a screening for WW in February. Anyways enough about me, you want to hear about the movie. But before I give the best description I can possibly give for those who don't want spoilers here is my quick mini review. Justice League is probably my favorite comic book movie. Now onto the description:
The film begins on Themyscira with a young Diana, her mother Hippolyta tells her one of her old war stories(similar to WW). We cut to the ''History Lesson'' while Hippolyta narrates. Humans, amazons, thanagarians, atlanteans, Kara El & the corps fight alongside each other to fight off Darkseid's army. Kara is wearing Superman's black suit with the silver symbol, I don't know who the actress is. After Darkseid's army is defeated they retreat. Just when everyone begins to celebrate their victory a boom tube sucks up Kara. We cut to present day. It has been 4 months since the death of Superman, together the world pays tribute(London, Hong Kong, DC, Metropolis). Everyone lays flowers at Superman's grave in Washington, his headstone is a big \S/. A mother loses her kid, calling out for him. When she finds him he's standing at the grave in awe, he's dressed as Superman. That night several people light candles around the grave while Martha watches it on the news. In Metropolis Lois gets a taxi to the broken Superman memorial, she stares at the statue's head. This scene in particular with Lois was very emotional. She has flashbacks of Clark(The end of MOS when he joins the Daily Planet and they both smile, a scene where Clark is asleep and Lois kisses him before she leaves) all while we hear Clark say ''I love you. This is my world, you are my world''. You can hear the slow version of the MOS theme playing. We cut to the scene of Bruce on a horse searching for the village. Once there he talks to Arthur. Arthur turns down his offer etc... We follow Arthur back to his home, a lighthouse. WW is in London at an auction, her job is dealing with old artifacts and paintings. It is there where she buys the statue of Hera. Diana is a very rich & successful woman. She lives in Paris but also has an apartment in London. The Hera statue is not for work but for her apartment, her apartment is seen in the trailer. Her apartment is very old fashion, a fountain, other greek statues etc... There is a news report of a hold up at the Old Bailey, a dangerous mob boss is on trial and he's attempting to escape. It's an inside job too(security guards are involved), they have a bomb and threaten the hostages. Diana shows up as WW and takes them out but the bomb still goes off, luckily no one was hurt. Bruce is watching the aftermath on the news while in his private jet back to Gotham. We cut to Victor Stone in his dad's apartment, we see flashbacks of his origin. We cut to Batman staring at the scout ship. Just as he's about to leave he sees the bat signal. Batman talks with Commissioner Gordon, apparently Bats hasn't been around the last few weeks. Gordon questions Batman's ways(branding criminals, killing them), Gordon says ''I know what you've experienced. You are at war with yourself, war changes people''. Batman disappears when Gordon turns his back. Diana takes a plane to Gotham and meets Bruce in his new lair where the flying fox is. She accepts his offer to join the league. He gives her all the updates, when asked about Barry Allen(his file is seen on the computer) we cut to Barry visiting his dad in prison(an emotional moment). Iris is waiting for Barry outside and gives him a lift home(It's not like he needed it). Anyways this is where the Flash meets Batman scene occurs as seen in the trailers. Back to Aquaman. Deadly waves causes a small boat to crash into rocks. The captain?(are all boat owners called captains?) jumps onto the rocks as the boat sinks. He slips and hits his head on the rocks(knocking him unconscious). Aquaman shows up, carries him into the village. Takes a bottle of beer(It's on him scene). He walks back home to find Mera waiting for him. The Atlantis council has sent her to summon Arthur, his title as king is in jeopardy, Arthur says ''What if I don't want to be king?''. He goes with her. Back to Cyborg. He's at Gotham University(his old school), hiding under the bleachers watching his old team mates training for a game. He sees a girl running up to one of the team mates and kisses them, we cut to a flashback of Victor in a game with Coast City University. He lands a touchdown therefore winning the game. The girl was his girlfriend, she kisses him. Back to present day Diana greets Victor under the bleachers. She asks him to join. He calls it a curse, that it ruined his life & his dreams. He asks to be left alone, Diana leaves but says ''Your curse can help save lives''. On Themyscira Hippolyta stares at a sculpter of young Diana. The motherbox they protect starts going bonkers. Hippolyta senses danger so sends her best warriors to protect it, including herself. They believe the enemy will come in through the door. A boom tube opens in front of the motherbox, Steppenwolf arrives. A big fight between Steppenwolf and the amazons, Steppenwolf is the victor. He takes the motherbox as a boom tube sucks him up. In Atlantis Arthur stands(floats) before the council. The Atlantis court houses many artifacts including a motherbox. Orm(yes Orm) & Vulko are council members. Orm calls Arthur a surface dweller while Vulko defends him. One member says ''To be king you need to be with your people, not on the surface'' or something like that. Mera watches. Orm continues to put down Arthur but Mera swims in to defend him but the guards take her aside. Arthur starts to defend himself, explaining how it's a burden to be of both worlds yet not belong to either, that he has a mother he never met, that he's unsure if he can be a king. The motherbox starts going bonkers again, this time it lets out a shockwave that throws back several people and scaring fish nearby. Arthur checks on Mera. Steppenwolf arrives, after a quick encounter Aquaman is defeated and Steppenwolf leaves with the motherbox. Arthur swims to the grave of the first atlantean king, taking his armor and trident. Back in Gotham several scientists are kidnapped including Silas Stone(Cyborg's dad). Gordon actives the batsignal, Barry & Bruce notice it(Bruce calls Diana). Cyborg arrives home to find the place destroyed(It's where the parademon took his dad) and looks out the window to see the batsignal. On top of the GCPD the team talk to Gordon, Cyborg shows up, they all try to figure out what these creatures are. They find a nest in an underground tunnel on an Island, or at least hope to find one. Batman and WW give Cyborg & Flash a prep talk. Batman heads alone further into the tunnel with the help of his knightcrawler. Several parademons arrive. A big action set piece takes place, Steppenwolf shows up. The knightcrawler is destroyed. Using her bracelets WW causes a shockwave that floods the tunnel but Aquaman shows up to push it off. The tunnel starts to fall apart, the scientists(In one of the rooms) are freaking out but Silas tries to calm them down. A large piece of rubble is about to crush Silas but Cyborg saves him. Above the surface Gordon and the GCPD are waiting. Gordon thanks them for everything. He actually calls them ''Justice League'', Batman & Aquaman hate the name but Flash thinks it's cool. A parademon flies straight out of the underground tunnel, grabs onto Cyborg and flies away with him. Cyborg gets loose of the parademon and flies into the sky with it but flies straight back down and plummets it into the ground after Flash quickly gets everyone out of the way. The league goes to the batcave. Batman wants trust from them so he lets them in on a big secret. Bruce has the body of Superman(he's wearing the blue & red suit). Since Superman's death Bruce has had his body, he replaced it with a wax dummy. He tells them there is HOPE for Superman. He explains the science of Kal's suit(It's some kind of bio-suit), he explains that there are kryptonian scriptures all over the suit. He needs access to the scout ship, hoping to translate them. Batman breaks Luthor out of Arkham, well tbh the Arkham staff basically let him. Batman sneeks into the scout ship with Luthor. The reason Batman needs him is because the ship's AI only obeys Luthor. Luthor refuses to help, Batman breaks his finger, Luthor helps. A boom tube opens in the middle of Metropolis, several parademons arrive. WW, Arthur & Cyborg still in the batcave are made aware of this by Alfred. WW flies the batwing with Aquaman in it. Cyborg flies there. Barry is in a store having an awkward conversation with the store clerk. Parademons fly by and he quickly races out. Together the 4 of them bring the attention of the parademons to heroes park(Superman memorial, scout ship) where there's no civilians. Using the AI Luthor helps translate the scriptures(Batman has them written out). They defeat the creatures and Luthor is taken back to the asylum by Flash. Batman reads out the scriptures, basically the suit needs radiation. There's a device at Star Labs that was made to withstand the radiation of a nuke & the human motherbox. Cyborg brings them to Star Labs. This scene here confused me, I don't understand why the league had to tag along. Silas gives Victor the device and thanks the league for saving him and his friends. He has a touching moment with Victor and tells him ''I told you Victor, you're a hero''. Steppenwolf arrives with several parademons via boom tube, using the motherbox he creates a field around him and the scientists. He's tired of the league interfering so he uses Silas as an example and kills him. Cyborg walks through the field, quickly fights off Steppenwolf(dropping the motherbox). Steppenwolf retreats with the parademons who take the scientists again. Batman places the device on Superman's chest. He & the league go to the Batman's new lair from earlier with the motherbox in their possession. Diana asks Victor how he managed to walk through the field, he explains that he's made from one of them so it must be the reason. The motherbox he is made from automatically connects with the atlantean motherbox, it feeds him all sorts of information and using his red eye he protects images. Steppenwolf is from an alternate reality of Earth, another dimension referred to as Apokolips(Is it me or is this very similiar to Stranger Things?). It's the reason Steppenwolf knows Earth so well, how he was able to find Atlantis & Themyscira. The only way to access this dimension is via a motherbox(Apparently there are thousands of them). They want the scientists to create parademons. An image of Darkseid is protected(This is the only time we see him). The scene from the trailer of Bruce staring at a hologram of Superman isn't in the film, he's actually looking at Darkseid who by the way looks like the literal definition of a tyrant. Darkseid wishes to enter our Earth and make it his own. From our side you can open portals but you have to find access points. From the other side you can create boom tubes anywhere on Earth(probably more advanced motherboxes?). Using the 3 motherboxes Steppenwolf will combine them to create a portal big enough to bring over Darkseid's army. Cyborg finds an access point in an industrial town. Bruce informs Alfred. They head there via the flying fox, using the motherbox Cyborg creates a portal(it looks like a big blue electrical wall), because of the energy the flying fox loses control causing misfires as it's sucked into the portal but it doesn't close. Bruce manages to regain control and safely lands it on the other side. The alternate version of the town has red skies, is ruins and surrounded by skeletons. Nearby is Steppenwolf's tower, the scientists are there. Steppenwolf sends parademons to retrieve the motherboxes from the league. After a big fight with the league make their way to the tower(the batmobile is toast & the atlantean motherbox is returned to Steppenwolf). In the batcave Superman wakes up. He meets with Alfred who informs him on everything. Superman makes his way to the access point(we don't get a full look at him yet or hear him speak). Steppenwolf combines the 2 motherboxes, he sends a message to Darkseid, telling him only one motherbox remains. The league fight their way inside of the tower. Batman & Flash focus on saving the scientists while the rest face off against more parademons. After the creatures are defeated and the scientists are saved the league team up to face off against Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf looks at Cyborg and says something like ''I thought I was gonna have to come for you but you came to me''. After a big fight Steppenwolf is victor. He grabs hold of Cyborg and starts to transform the motherbox(sorta like a rubik's cube), slowly removing it from his body. But out of nowhere Superman flies in and punches him into the already two combined motherboxes, slowly destroying him. The league is in total shock and awe to which Superman replies ''Sorry I'm late''. Using the flying fox they enter their own world through the portal but not before Cyborg closes it. We then get that iconic JL style intro of the league walking towards the camera as shadows with the sun behind them. In the end everyone goes back to their own lives. Lois is at the Kent Farm with Martha. Clark arrives, this was a beautiful moment. Martha runs to Clark, hugs him and cries. Superman and Lois kiss, slowly levitating off the ground. He notices the wedding ring on her finger as they smile. Back at the new lair Bruce gives Flash a new suit, just as he leaves with it Superman enters the cave. He and Bruce have a conversation. Clark thanks him for saving his life while Bruce thanks him for inspiring him to become a better hero. They shake hands as Bruce welcomes him to the ''Hall Of Justice''. The end.
Overall I think it was a fun movie. There wasn't much Superman unfortunately but it was great to see him come back, I was a little disappointed he didn't have the black suit. The flying fox wasn't as awesome as I had hoped, Steppenwolf was pretty badass and there was no Deathstroke. The only scene in the movie I feel like was a forced set up was the Kara El scene, I'm guessing she's gonna be in MOS 2 or JL 2 but they went through alot of trouble to showcase her in that opening. Don't expect a giant amount of easter eggs or cameos because you won't get it. There was no post credits scene, if there is one they won't reveal it until official release so maybe we'll get some context to her scene or maybe a Deathstroke cameo? I'm still holding out hopes for that cameo. It's a pretty straightforward movie, obviously there's plot holes and every now & again you'll say ''Oh how convenient''. But I'm far from hating because no movie is perfect. Imo it's easily the best DC movie, I had so much fun with it and I'm positive you will too. It was definitely a rough cut(some unpolished effects, sample ost). I have no idea if this cut was pre reshoots or not. If the mods would like I could try and supply some proof but I have to be careful. I don't have any leaked images or nothing, they make you put your phones into little bags before hand.
My only disappointment is the absence of Green Lantern and the inclusion of Kara el. Super girl again. Seriously, after the t.v show, they want to force her on the film. Warner should get their act right and include GL. He needs to appear in this film even if its a cameo. Fans are rooting for him to appear. And I don't want to believe Superman only has a few scenes. Looking forward to November 17.
RomanceRe: She Desperately Wants To Marry Me by efilimu(m): 7:38am On Aug 18, 2017
Eberex:
I have a similar story to this one.

A guy met a girl during his Nysc post experience in a high school. When he got a job and she got admission they started to date. The girls family were average and werent doing much for her in terms of sending money for handouts and levies. He took care of most of these bills.

They see only when she comes home for break and sometimes when he travels to see her in school. She has graduated now and just 23. The dude is in his late 30's. He discovers something when he thought deeply about getting married to her. She might feel she is ready all because she wants to please him or feel she owes him because of his help for her through out her school days. Secondly her family are yet to get on their feet and most times he still send her money even now she is home. The folks are not really buoyant.

He told her he cannot Marry her because the burden from her and her family including her siblings would be too much for him. He also have responsibilities for his own folks. Getting married in their cultures means you are getting married to her family as well. He doesn't want to feel obligated to help her family if he marries her which is impossible.

Money has a role to play in marriage. But if she isn't working and her family needs help. Where does she run to? Of course it's the man.
The guy in your story is sensed. Apart from the money factor, the guy has also reasoned that the girl might also marry him out of pity and not love.

I am tired of this thread already, everyone just making point that don't make sense, synder is a good director , yes his foray into comic book movies hasn't been successfully, but that doesn't make him a bad director, and judging a director or actor by his Oscar wins or rotten tomato score is just ignorant. Movies are made to entertain people and make money, movie execs don't really care if you enjoy the movie or not ,they care about the money, synder makes them money, and he hasn't made a movie that didn't make money, you know why, because he is a good movie-maker
"He hasn't made a movie that didn't make money" Uhmm, Watchmen and Legend of the guardians: owls of ga hoole comes to mind.

All I see is you downplaying the few successes of a hardworking director just so you can sound intelligent. And it's not working.
Snyder might have some failures, but he has also had successes. 300 is one of my best action movies of all time. Watchmen is an awesome superhero movie to many people I know. Are you the only person with access to Snyder's track record? If he was as horrible as you're portraying him, do you think WB would have hired him?
The Watchmen that is an awesome movie to many people, how much did it make at the BO. Why didn't that "same many people" pay to see it at the cinemas and as a result increase its BO office earnings. And thank God you used the word "you" when referring to 300. Because you liked it does not mean others did.

Guy God will bless you a million times. I can't begin to count how many times I've told them how Snyder is responsible for the BO performance of MoS and BvS. In a recent argument I even listed out the guy's track record before he came onboard to the DCEU. It was either filled with under performing films or critically maligned films. I'll give examples: Sucker Punch, Watchmen, Legend of Guardians:og, 300.
For me the guy is not even in the top 70 directors in Hollywood. He's only good at visuals and bad at story telling.

no one is talking about blu ray sales bo performance is important for continuity..... Like the power rangers movie bombed at the bo but still alot of merchandise sales but still no sequel in plans..... Imagine if it hit at least 500 mil they'll be currently shooting a sequel..... MoS underperformed at B.O its not even a debate it didnt bomb tho.... But johns is not responsible for the early troubles of the dceu the public couldn't relate to snyders vision still a great director of visuals tho but zack is wack at story telling..... Look at the chemistry btw steve nd diana in ww and compare it yo lois and clark.... Johns actually was a right choice to head dc films .....
I will always say it. Snyder is responsible for the under performance of BvS and MOS. Thank God he is going after JL.

I personally think Wonder Woman was just a notch above Suicide Squad. Both movies were weak and childish especially in the third act. In terms of motives and Philosophy, WW was just slightly better. Cinematography of WW was superior also. I will still place MOS and BVS above WW, not minding their box office returns.
Coming from you, I'm not surprised!

Let me add that the 2006 Superman returns was modelled after the beloved Christopher Reeves portrayal, a cheesy Superman. Funny enough, the movie still bombed like a pack of cards. The same useless critics complained that Snyders should have used Reeves' approach for Cavill. Might I also mention that BVS Bluray sales is still among the top 50 in 2017. Talk about underperformance.
Very few care about the blu ray sales of BvS. BvS should have crossed the 1 billion dollars mark. The more reason I'm concerned for JL. Anything below 1 billion dollars is failure for JL.

Please, define "underperformed" with true facts.
He doesn't need to define anything.
How many times have I said it on this forum that MOS and BvS underperformed at the box office?

Nice write up author.
I have taken a cursory look at bloggers thriving works, but to be honest with you, bloggers in the line of Social events(Gossips, trending lifestyle and celeb news) hold sway than bloggers posting useful articles. Though i stand to be corrected.

You are very correct. Nigerians are more interested in gossip news than long quality useful articles.

transformers franchise thats dying? Thats how disney tried wonder woman by releasing cars 3 close to it. And lets n0t forget The mummy starring Tom Cruise.
I agree with you. I don't think Warner has anything to fear from the Bumblebee spinoff. The interest in the transformers franchise is waning.
TV/MoviesTax Break By Federal Government: 3 See-thorough Advantages by efilimu(op): 10:50am On Aug 05, 2017
A few weeks ago, the Nigerian internet space was brimming with angry reactions to the minister of information Lai

Mohammed's statement saying that the federal government will soon ban film and music production from going

abroad. Here at efilimu, we looked at some of the pros of this ban even though reactions to it then were mostly

negative. And prior to that, we highlighted some of the advantages of taking entertainment production abroad.

Apparently, it might seem the government means business (though in baby steps) as on Wednesday they announced

that a tax break would be given to movie producers and other stakeholders in the creative industry. This report comes

courtesy of Pulse Nigeria where the information minister Lai Mohammed is quoted saying:

”This is a shot in the arm for the Creative Industry, and it will definitely catalyse investments in the industry.

It is also the answer to our quest to spur the establishment of world class studios in Nigeria for production

and post-production of movies and music videos,”

Overall, this might be the first step by the government in making good at their word on film and music production ban

overseas, since by granting the tax break, it creates a favorable environment for practitioners to flourish. Or---probably

not. Regardless, we'll see how it is a win for those concerned if and when it is finally implemented.

1. Lessens cost of production:

The is the first clear advantage of the tax break. Money used to pay the obligatory government finances will be

channeled towards other endeavors with a resultant decrease in cost of making movies, television shows, music videos

etc

2. More profit for stakeholders

That is provided the money saved for tax still remains in the bank vaults, then the income realized from the those

partaking in the creative industry will witness a boost. The tax break is in line with one of the core objectives of

business: reduced cost

3. Increases Investment:

Provided the tax break extends towards foreigners who bring their entertainment production to Nigeria, then this is a

clear positive sign for foreign investors to bring their business to Nigeria and with more of that, it will definitely boost

our tourism and entertainment industry.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 5 Major Mistakes Graduates Make In Their First Job Interviews by efilimu(m): 9:04pm On Aug 01, 2017
EntMirror:
Very helpful I must say.. However, I want to give a bit of advice to our awesome graduates who still have a fresh spirit within. When working in that company or firm, always think about working on your financial statement. Don't just go and get a girl pregnant and put yourself in the family way, this is the easiest way to remain poor for life unless your paycheck is in millions already.

Save money from your paycheck and look for goldmines to invest in.. There are lots of assets that can spring forth thousands monthly.. Believe me, it will compliment your salary and as time goes.. Will become a money spring.. Work, Save and invest.

Doing this will get you off the grasp of financial crisis.. It will get to a time where you will even have to quit your job and focus on your assets, even start up your own business..

I had my reservations when I stated about personal opinion and blogging, this seems to be a personal opinion being out up online, u skewed from telling us why it doesn't deserve an Oscar to "it doesn't deserve Oscar because no MCU movie got Oscar". doesn't sound objective to me, honestly, it sounds like a jealous woman saying no other woman can have a man just because she didn't.
Would b a good read without the MCU comparative but a solid evidence based argument to support ur point.
if I'm right, Suicide Squad won an Oscar, doesn't fit into ur first reason narative, does it?

this statement right here!

Summary or ur write up:
WW doesn't deserve Oscar because: no MCU movie has won it, Academy doesn't favour CBM and WB shld focus on shaping up their universe.
If you ask me, these are not reasons WHY it doesn't DESERVE oscar.
I will still say this ur hate ur DCEU is clouding ur objective judgement. I mean these can't be reasons WW doesn't deserve Oscar.
Okay, thanks for the input. It seems I let my personal opinion get in the way. I will take note of this when writing next time and try to remain as objective as possible. Kryptonian also said the same thing.
But I don't hate the DCEU. My dislike for Snyder's work doesn't mean I hate the DCEU. The only 2 films I saw in the cinemas last year were SS and BvS. And this year the only film I've seen so far is WW. Thanks!

It would have been a perfect one if it wasn't robbed off of its neutrality. Next time try to be more focused on the matter on ground rather than trying to do "comparative analysis".
Though I dread your write-up/article, I only gave up when you started forcing MCU (CA:CW) into it. The only MCU movie that is worthy of mention when Oscar is involved is : CA:TWS. So we shouldn't dare mention CA:CA cuz that movie is one of the most overhyped movie in modern days.
It is very possible for WW to be nominated, not just for the femine stuff, but because it has the balls to kill a very likable character. And it also told a very compelling story sublime with great chemistry. I repeat, no MCU movie deserves Oscar except CA:TWS.
6.5/10 my rating.
Thanks, but when you say "you dread the article", be clear. What do you mean exactly? But seriously, I appreciate your feedback. I'm new to this and I only hope to improve with your criticisms.
