Stage 2 - use one end of the gele over the top of the gele to form the base of the rose, now pin it down to hold it in place, arrange it to your desired shape, Next take the second hand of the gele and also repeat the same process of pining it down to complete the base of the gele, also arrange it to your desired shape ![]()

Rose Gele Tutorial Rose Gele Tutorial by SisiValisimo makeup School.......... To tie this type of gele is actually very easy and fun to tie, plus any type of gele can do it, regular gele, sergo or aso Oke, I love the effects aso Oke gives thou ![]() Make sure your gele is not too full, eg half gele and always if you can reduce the length that would be fantastic ![]() Step 1 - identify the center of the gele, place that center area at the back of your head, let the gele form two equal parts, now bring the two hands of the gele to the point where you want to form your rose (eg maybe front or side,) and make a twist there at that point.

Now the smaller edge give that to your client or someone else to hold for you so you will have the other hand free to go to the third stage which is further pleating
|
Note that full gele is better for this practical. At stage 2, place the pleated lines on the person head, this process is to help you get the foundation of your gele, Now look at the picture closely, notice how we formed an X at the back of her head with the gele. (see the hands of the lady on red to understand what I am saying.) The side her phone is on, is the longer side, the second side which is smaller will be given to the client or someone else to hold for u.follow my next post to understand

Gele Tutorial by SisiValisimo makeup School Gele makes every traditional outfit look better no doubt, but many women have issues getting it right, follow the steps below to see if you will get it at least better than the usual if not perfect ........ Foundation of gele. Every beautiful gele starts from the base of the forehead, you must take time out to pleat it very well, have about 10-15 small small plates in place ready for the next stage
|
Hummmm just when I wanted to post the gele tutorials here last week I was ban by Anti-spam bot, and the funny thing is I don't even know what I did sef ![]() |

Teacher Teacher ....... ![]() I never knew I would make a living out of teaching ,but the trade I love brought my teaching skills out. To me there was no way I would go on in life without impacting the fashion design skills I had acquired to others. Teaching has really been rewarding to me, it has made me learn so much my self, it's made me know so many people who I wouldn't have had to know if I wasn't a teacher, most of all teaching has taught me patience and humility, in the business of teaching you can't do without those ![]() Proprietress of Valisimo Fashion School and Sisivalisimo Makeup school . Sewing time, I sew the fabric and taffeta together first before adding my lining to cover the rough stitches. this process is repeated for the front block and back black plus the sleeve
|
Time for the bodice My bust is 42+ My half length is 17 Divide my bust into 2, 42÷2 = 21. Adding seam allowance. 21 + 5 (for seam) =26 That's why I have 13 on fold = 26 For the length I have 17 + 2 =19 The neck I measured 3 inch wide 1inch deep. Shoulder slope 1inch, arm hole 8, dart 2 inch each For the back I just added zip allowance and cut it into 2. Then I added my sleeve Lastly for all the cuts I cut a replica of the main bodice on the taffeta as well as the lining,
|
Now imagine how full this skirt part will be after joining the three sections together (Actually I had to stop at three because my fabric was exhausted, if I had gotten like fifteen yards or more I would have had about six sections or more joined together) This is to say that full skirt designs like this, can have as many joint as possible. The beauty will only be seen at the end of your project. Now this is just stage 1, to complete this skirt part I have to cut my taffeta and lining, then perhaps my hard net Stage 2 the taffeta part. The taffeta circumference might not be as big as the main fabric. Its not compulsory you cut the taffeta the way you cut the main fabric as long as you conceal all the joined areas neatly when sewing
|
I will start with the full skirt first. Looking at my measurements I have half length 17 and full length of 53. First I deduct my half from the full length 53 - 17= 36 I add 2inch to the 36 for seam allowance = 38 That's what I used to cut my skirt length. As for the top circumference at the waist I measured just 7 inch down. I repeat the process 3 times because I want it very full.

Went to the market some time in December looking for the right fabric...... Walked and walked the market all day and eventually settled for the Navy blue fabric 8 yards in total , but at the back of my mind I knew it would give me issues so I decided not to cut it. A week after I went again and fortunately I got the sky blue one which is more lighter you need to see the smile on my face that day finally I got home and the inspiration to cut the fabric cameMost times before I cut I like to sketch out what am about to cut so that's the sketch I made with my measurements on it, let's start ![]()

Back to Our December Project This is where we are going, now I want to upload my process.
