Hairline: Apply your powder and foundation into the hairline.

Temple: Part of the T-zone. Powder and foundation can also be test at the temple according to Kelvin Aucoin.

Eyebrow: Common with the eyebrows is filling in of the sparse area.

Browbone: This is where highlighting is done.

Crease of the Eye: this is where contouring is done.

Eye Lid: This is where we apply our eyeshadow.

Lashline: Very close to the eyelashes. Where liquid liner is applied.

Eyelashes: Where mascara is applied but avoid clogging in your application.

Outer corner of the Eye:[/b]Avoid stain here.

[b]Inner corner of the Eye: Avoid stain here.

Rim of the Eye: Where Eyeliner is applied.

Under the Eye area: Use concealer here where it has a very dark patch but if not too dark use your foundation to cover it.

Cheekbone: [/b]Apply blusher on the cheekbone for those who have round full face.

[b]Apple of the Cheek: apply blush on the apple of the cheek for other face shapes.

Cheekplane: Apply blush on the cheekplane for faces with high cheekbone. and those who have compressed cheeks.

Bridge of the nose: It is a part of the T-zone

Ball of the nose: Part of the T-zone.

Hollow of the cheek: use foundation to create hollow of the cheek

Peak of the lips: Ensure you give the same shape and create for those who don’t have it.

Corner of the mouth: Avoid stain here too. Ensure it is well cover in case of dark patch

Jawline: Test powder and foundation here.

Tip of the chin: Part of the T-zone.

Nape of the neck: The neck should always be the same shade with the face

T.Zone - it is where you apply bronzer

The first diagram is what people see. Just a face with the regular features eg eyes nose mouth cheek

The second diagram is what a makeup artist should see. The face and details on the face. This way you can identify which tool or product should be used at specific places

Today I want to introduce you to your face for the very first time............ I want you to study your face very well, take note of how your brows are shaped, your eyes are shaped, your nose, your mouth...... Just take note of them.........


Now think of either your mums face or your friends face, yes no doubt, we know they are different but can you spot areas where your face is different from another person's faces ?

That difference In people's faces is where a makeup artist job really lies. Your ability to create a flawless look on your face plus others taking into consideration the different facial structures we all have qualifies you as a makeup artist.

A makeup artist onlike others carefully studies first his or her face, get a perfect mastery of that then proceeds to study other people's faces to know how best to work with different faces in terms of products application.

So the next time you have to apply makeup products on your face, say this to your self "Am gonna do this like a Pro would"
